Reviews for Old Silent Inn
Review 1:The first room that we were given was freezing cold. Neither the shower nor the radiator worked, the bathroom shelf was hanging off the wall and the room was extremely small. they did move us to another room but this meant that we had to return to the inn in the day spoiling our day out. The room we were given was warmer and larger but was dusty. Although apologetic they didn't offer any compensation for the appalling first room and even re let it out
Review 2:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was cosy and welcoming
Review 3:Having to leave
Review 4:Staff were super friendly, we got soaked walking and they spent hours tumble drying our walking stuff - nothing was too much trouble. Food was excellent, freezing cold outside roaring log fire inside, fabulous character pub, made our dog feel like the best dog on earth - what more could you want? We'll be back!
Review 5:it was all decorated for Christmas and looked lovely with the log fires burning. We had a meal in the evening which was very good and breakfast was good too. Its not too far to drive into Haworth. The staff were lovely
Review 6:Dirty full of cobwebs and damp. Whilst having breakfast water poured in from ceiling above our heads. Building in a terrible state!
Review 7:Management friendly!
Review 8:The bedroom full stop. Very poor for £95 pounds. No window just a sky . No. Where to put clothes, just a very basic. No drawers no shelves. Our computer monitor is bigger than the TV.pathetic. Heating not good. Avoid room 11 like the plague!!!!! We have stayed in excellent 4 star hotels for £95.
Review 9:The beer was good!!!
Review 10:Nothing negative - it's a beautiful old building with tons of history and good old fashioned cosy hospitality - so if you're looking for ultra-modern décor, this probably won't be the place for you.
Review 11:Brilliant hospitality and friendliness from every single member of the team, lovely cosy pub atmosphere, great dining, lovely countryside location, loads of history (the building is about 400 years old!).
Review 12:Our bathroom had a horrible damp smell which infiltrated the bedroom.
Review 13:The staff were lovely, really friendly and very welcoming, nothting was too much trouble and they made us feel very special
Review 14:If you want ultra modern, funky bedrooms then don't stay here but if you want to stay with nice people & feel warm & cosy whatever the weather then definitely stay here.
Review 15:This is a beautiful old Inn and the owners/ staff are fantastic. I'd recommend anyone to stay and eat here. Order a dish that comes with gravy because we thought it was amazing! The downstairs area is absolutely gorgeous.
Review 16:Bit idiosyncratic - showers ran out of hot once or twice. Freeview some channels only and intermittent wifi - but those are really common things, so no big deal.
Review 17:very nice staff, good food, very good beer. Charming.
Review 18:No Wifi, unable to connect even in bar area. TV had great selection of channels but the signal was so weak we turned it off. Shower and toilet area desperately in need of an upgrade. No window blind in the bathroom, I had to make a 'curtain" from my bath towel. The shower was hard to turn on and even harder to turn off. I had a freezing cold shower on both mornings I stayed there because I could not turn off the shower, and 'cold' was near the off position. The room was not serviced on the second day, so damp towels and no renewal of the tea making favilities or clean cups. Breakfast period had very narrow parameters, 0900 to 0930, 0830 to 0915 at the weekend, a little late for those who like to make an early start, but worth the wait.
Review 19:The staff were wonderful, very friendly and eager to please. If customers go back it will be because the staff give 100%. The hotel is old with lots of character, set in a lovely valley just over a mile from Haworth, nice walking country. We had a steak meal which was ok. Lots of local people in the bar area, lots of ales and a good atmosphere.
Review 20:The room was dusty and dated and the bathroom basin was not very clean (remnants of the previous guests whiskers on the basin). Water marks on the bathroom wallpaper. The inside of the kettle was brown!
Review 21:Location is beautiful. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Quaint olde worlde pub
Review 22:The bedrooms were tired. The mattress very uncomfortable, felt like it was dipping in the middle. The carpet in both bedroom and toilet was quite worn, the tv free view didn't work in the morning and the shower was difficult to turn on
Review 23:I liked the bar area and the food was lovely
Review 24:Very welcoming staff, very friendly. Excellent food and service. Even made a new friend in Meg the black labrador! We will definitely visit in the not too distant future. We have already recommended the inn to other members of our family.
Review 25:The only problem was the quality of the room. Because it is an old building the room was dingy and shabby. However the staff and general ambience was so good that it almost made up for it. . The food and bar areas were spotless clean. Just the room.
