Esplanade Lodge sells fast on our site. Esplanade Lodge is set in the heart of Whitley Bay, a 2-minute walk from Whitley Bay's sea front. It offers free WiFi in the rooms and free parking.
Flexible check-in time is offered via a self check-in system, allowing guests to arrive and access their rooms any time after 13:00.

Review 1：Location excellent - three minutes walk from the Metro station at Whitley Bay, and two minutes from the shore. The self-check in using coded box on front door was a helpful facility, as I couldn't give a proper estimated time of arrival. Room was a generous size, not claustrophobic like some properties with bigger rooms artificially cut into two by a flimsy wall. All sturdy and comfortable. Bed and breakfast - the two main elements of the stay - were excellent. Would definitely come again. Excellent value.
Review 2：access, had to mess around in the dark and phone a number on the door, didnt have credit on my phone so had to run around trying to find somewhere to top my phone up, tired after a long journey, but apart from that it was very good

Review 4：There was no hairdryer in the room and the general standard is not as good as some other local B&Bs which are the same or lower priced. Breakfast finished at nine o'clock even at weekends.

Review 22：Room no.1 clean freshly decorated and was excellent especially with us having two dogs. It is not a four star hotel but what you pay for is good value for money and a very good breakfast. 2 Dogs no problem, enjoyed my 5 night stay.
Review 23：Found a few hairs on the bedding. Couple of towels were stained. Toilet was really loud when you flushed it, and you could hear toilet being flushed in other rooms. No toiletries provided, only hand soap. We were on ground floor so were woken up by people leaving early morning one day. Also room was close to kitchen and breakfast room so from 7am our room was filled by the unpleasant smell of fried breakfast. Not much other choice though, just cereal and toast (which was fine however). Came back on first day to find room had been left unlocked after cleaning. In general we didn't feel it lived up to expectations and found Whitley Bay to be a very run down and pretty depressing place.
Review 24：Close to the sea and centre, we were able to find parking on street close by. First impressions of room were quite good. Staff friendly. Recommend going to eat at Davanti Italian restaurant.
Review 25：I found a dirty blanket in the cupboard that had been used by a dog (full of hair); probably the dog of a visitor before I stayed in the lodge. Note; all other things and bathroom were very clean.

Also ground floor room by the front door was very noisy as people came and went during late evening no night. That can't be helped though!

Review 61：The staff were great, friendly and accommodating. The room was clean, tidy. comfortable and warm. Radiator had been left on for our arrival. We arrived later than expected but this wasn't a problem for the owner at all. Didn't manage to get up in time for breakfast so can't comment on that but the staff again did give alternative times for breakfast.
