Reviews for Premier Inn Burton On Trent Central

Review 1:I had a couple of bites on my arms! Bed bugs? Surely not!!! There was a river nearby ... gnat bites? Bring some cream anyway. Not enough time spent in the lovely bed!

Review 2:The receptionist was very friendly and helpful! I usually suffer with bad back when sleeping in different beds (as a keen traveller ) but this was the first time ever that I could lay down on a bed and not have to re-adjust my position to support my lower back! Yep! Converted! P.I from now on ...

Review 3:The service at the beefeater was poor as they were still cleaning up from the night before and didn't look very happy that we came in for breakfast at 7am

Review 4:The beds are so comfy! The staff were really friendly, the room we were allocated was obviously disabled friendly and was very spacious, immaculately clean. Car park mostly well lit, with lift available from car park so no carrying suitcases overall the hotel was great.

Review 5:It was clean, comfortable and tasty breakfast as well liked a fact that you can get in hotel floors with the key only so you know it's no one else wondering Just hotel guests

Review 6:Unfortunately our room was next to the elevator and we didn't get to sleep till about 1am when it seemed all the guests had returned. Some of which were very noisy and inconsiderate to other guests. The heating/air con in the room was very noisy and wouldn't switch off !

Review 7:Location was good for our needs. Handy having the restaurant next door too. Staff very friendly.

Review 8:Particular members of staff in the restaurant next door were unhelpful and grumpy!

Review 9:Beds were so comfy and the staff very helpful and kind. Will definately stay there again

Review 10:There was nothing negative about our stay.

Review 11:When we first arrived we were given a room that was much too small but after speaking to the staff at reception we were moved to much larger room which was great.

Review 12:The pub connected - Beefeater - We all had meals on both evenings. The staff accommodated 12 of us on Saturday, although they were very busy & ensured we were happy with everything. However on Sunday evening the staff were uncaring what happened with our meals or when we had them. We had to chase them up several times. I had to return my £15.00 steak as I couldn't cut it or chew it. The desserts (sundaes) came late & in little bowls with items missing, We were so fed up we left at 10.30 feeling they had certainly let themselves down in comparison to Saturday night.

Review 13:The Premier Inn was excellent as usual. Many thanks.

Review 14:No where to hang full size clothes as cupboard too short in height. ok for jackets and shirts but not ladies dresses.

Review 15:Bathroom, hot water and nice towles

Review 16:The room I had was for 2 adults and 2 children. The pull out bed was worse than lying on a bag of nails and it was broken in the middle with the cross piece sticking out of the material I mentioned this in checking in. Nothing was done until the second night where they just put 2 duvets on the broken bed. They didn't charge for the first night and told them the bed was still broken on the second night but they didn't seem to care less.

Review 17:The breakfast was amazing at the beefeater next door. Good car parking

Review 18:the fact that the first week I was given a room next to the road, lorries going by all night not very quiet, when I compalained they did offer to move me. the second week I was put on the end of the building next to a generator or conditioning unit shain not very wuiet

Review 19:Upon check in I was told my credit card was cancelled. Fortunately I had cash to pay for the first night and was informed I had to pay again next day. On my return to my room I had been locked out and marched back to the room by night staff to get the rest of the cash. On checking my card, it was not cancelled as I used it to withdraw cash from ATM and so charged for the privilege! !!!!

Review 20:Reception staff Cleanliness of rooms

Review 21:Have seen the advert many times about the 1000 pocket sprung bed. So was looking forward to 4 nights staying here. However the bed was hard, and you could feel some of the springs and buttons. We complained to reception and they put a duvet on the mattress.

Review 22:Staff, Location. Beefeater was excellent. Cleanliness of room.

Review 23:No opening window . Heating would not go less than 19 degrees . No tray for cups ( would benefit not causing marks to fittings ) noise from room upstairs . Constantly someone running back and fourth . ( hence lack of sleep) only one chair to sit on so had to sit on bed .

Review 24:Staff friendly and efficient . Breakfast good and good variety . Location of roads and shops in reasonable distance . Good beds although did not sleep that good . Room size reasonable . Plenty of towels and a choice of pillows .

Review 25:No dislikes! Top Rate!

Review 26:This was the second time at this Premier Inn and it won't be my last, already planning third visit! The welcoming staff as before are second to non! Verity and Debbie as before couldn't do enough and are very welcoming and approachable. This stay I also met Emma, who also has the same valuable qualities. The room was excellent, comfortable and cleanliness was 10 out of 10! Many thanks and see you soon!

Review 27:Where do I start? 1) Snow fell on Boxing day (Fri), and then it froze. The footpath was not gritted all day Sat. so walking to the nearby cafe for breakfast was a nightmare. Returning to the hotel that evening was even worse as it had frozen again on top of what was there already. I enquired why it had not been gritted and was told it could not be done or Premier would be liable if someone fell. Sunday morning it was gritted. 2) One key card per room. This also activated the lights. Consequently if one person went out ( key card needed to open the access doors to the corridors and lift) the other person was left in darkness in the room. I asked why only one key card and was told it was company policy. When I mentioned it on departure I was told I could have asked for another one or used a cedit card in the slot for the lights. 3) Only one chair in the room. This was at the desk This meant one person had to sit on the bed to watch TV or have a cup of tea. No armchairs. 4) No liquid soap in the soap dispenser for the shower/bath. Had to ask for it on the Sat. 5) the side of the bath is too high. Lethal for stepping into and out of. If you're over 60 be careful! 6) Charging for wifi in this day and age is a bit OTT and certainly not business friendly.

Review 28:beds and staff. The beds and pillows were excellent The staff were helpful, cheerful and always smiling. We came on Xmas Eve and left on Sunday 28th so to have helpful staff over this holiday period was a boon.

Review 29:Bed too short, I’m only 6 foot tall but feet hanging out end of the bed. Not sure why we ended up in a disabled room, everything too low for us.Would have been nice to have been asked up front if this would be OK.

Review 30:Good sized room (We were in the disabled room?) Clean. Very little road noise. No noise from corridor.

Review 31:We were all woken at 6.40am by noisy thuds overhead. I phoned reception who said they would ask the people in the room to be quiet. The noise continued and none of us were able to go back to sleep. Rubbish soundproofing and ineffective staff who refused to give me a refund despite Premier Inn's 'guarantee' of a good night's sleep.

Review 32:i could feel the springs in the bed and the windows would not open. the lowest the temperature could be put down to was 19 degrees which was too warm throughout the night.

Review 33:I liked the service from reception, he was very helpful in providing information on places to eat.

Review 34:Hairdryer needed replacing.

Review 35:Very clean. Having linked rooms for our large family made the stay so much better. Staff were really welcoming, helpful and friendly.

Review 36:Wifi should be free to all paying customers. Heating controls you should be able to adjust in the room not have to go down to the reception.

Review 37:Nice big spacious clean room. Breakfast really good.

Review 38:The proposition that this is "Burton on Trent Central" is ludicrous. A one-mile walk doesn't get you into the centre of town. The internet is dreadful, and painfully slow. Twenty minutes to log on, and every time you access BT Web Mail it logs you out from internet access. Must be a problem with Premier Inn's system - I had the same problem at their Chesterfield hotel the same week. The only choice of food is the Beefeater next door. Pre-paid, so no choice. Ordered a cooked breakfast one morning which I never got. £8.25 for an orange juice and bowl of cereal is little short of theft. Evening meals were nothing to write home about. I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express last time - only a little further away from the middle of Burton - but they didn't pretend to be "central". And their internet worked properly.

Review 39:Staff were good and welcoming. Usual quality of comfort...they are consistent in that respect and you know what to expect.

Review 40:We had breakfast at the Beefeater the food was fine service good but the food was served on cold plates .

Review 41:The staff very helpful eg they ordered us a taxi to take us to the Brewery Museum and where we could eat in Burton we can recommend the curry house The Manzil .

Review 42:price, and having to book 2 rooms for me and my wife x 3 kids when our room was big enough for all. the price was high, yet the rooms are very basic for a premier inn. One of the rooms had a fan running all night that kept us awake.

Review 43:premier inn living up to their nights sleep refund. free parking

Review 44:The aircon of our room not switch on until i made a call 2x early morning before it was activated. We were lost because the postcode they gave was wrong.

Review 45:It it very clean and hotel. The beefeater nearby is handy and their food was lovely.

Review 46:Nothing.

Review 47:Stayed before and after the Thunder Run at Catton Park. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Reliable sleep quality. Would stay again. Great value.

Review 48:Very expensive for a budget hotel. A bit isolated from town. Noisy overnight with people running about in the room above us, then kids running up and down the corridor banging on our door early morning.

Review 49:Beefeater next door had good atmosphere and we had a good dinner and breakfast here. Staff were helpful and friendly

Review 50:The only thing that didnt make it a PERFECT stay was being put above reception as door banged shut constantly and could hear every single person coming up and down the stairs...also u can hear every little noise in next room and in corridor..doors banged until very late until everyone went to sleep which kept children awake.

Review 51:We had a quadruple room which was pretty spacious and even fitted a travel cot in too...rooms were immaculately clean bath and shower were ecxellent and water was boiling. .air conditioning was an added bonus.

Review 52:The room temperature was difficult to set, either seemed very cool AC on or very warm AC off

Review 53:Link with beefeater for breakfast and dinner. Room had enough space for 2 adults and 2 children

Review 54:Nothing- Ideal for the price!

Review 107:Unclean bathroom tiles, and toilet. Complaint dealt with very quickly.

Review 108:Staff, service. Fantastic selection for breakfast.

Review 109:Every thing

Review 110:Sat nav unable to get us there using post code from website, so spent sometime driving around in circles.

Review 111:Close to Alton Towers. Good food at Beefeater.

Review 112:The staff were very helpful and friendly at the hotel. The beefeater next door was also very good with excellent staff and food. The breakfast the next morning was also very good. Could not fault the hotel or staff. Very enjoyable experience for an overnight stay. Well done.

Review 113:There was no breakfast for two days due to renovation in the restaurant but hotel supplied some take away breakfast free of charge. On the last day of my stay I had the chance to have breakfast in restaurant.

Review 114:Quiet and clean. Room size is ok. Air condition is ok. Bath is ok. "Beefeater " restaurant jis located just 50 meters away from the hotel. "Morrisons" big supermarket is also at walking distance. Pharmacy is in the entrance of supermarket. A cafe-restaurant is also available in supermarket. Good for short business travels

Review 115:Would like a twin room

Review 116:I thought the staff were very helpful the rooms were quite spacious and clean and bright. The Beefeater was very good and the breakfast is especially good.

Review 117:The breakfast service was very poor and I left before my hot breakfast was served - even though I had asked the staff twice where the meal was. The hotel staff were very apologetic but I got the impression this was not an unfamiliar occurrence.

Review 118:The prices are far to high when you only have to pay an extra £20 and you can stay at the Hilton St George, which are hardly comparable.

Review 119:Location, Foods, Clean all great and plenty of parking.
