The Bridge House descritpion

In the pretty market town of Ross-on-Wye, the family-run Bridge House has a large garden overlooking the river. Most rooms have views of the water or the 12th-century ruins of Wilton Castle, just 2 minutes’ walk from the building.
The River Wye is famous for salmon fishing, and guests can enjoy the Wye Valley Walk, which runs through pretty woodland as it follows the course of the river. The Bridge House is also convenient for venturing into Wales, with the border only 20 minutes’ drive away.
A full English breakfast, made using fresh local produce wherever possible, is served in the elegant ground-floor dining room, which offers views across the river.
Rooms at Bridge House are large and individually decorated with Hypnos beds, and some have striking views of the River Wye. Features include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV, as well as tea/coffee making facilities. They are equipped with an en suite bathroom with free toiletries.

Reviews for The Bridge House

Review 1:We were greeted by Darren and made to feel welcome as soon as we walked through the door, He gave us some recommendations of places to have dinner and things to do, and advised us what time breakfast was served. We were then shown to our room, which was beautifully laid out with a four poster bed and a river view, it was clean and very comfortable. The next morning we went down for breakfast and were greeted again there was a fantastic, selection of cereals and fresh fruit aswell as a hot breakfast menu, the food was amazing, perfect start to the day. We would definitely recommend and stay here ourselves again.

Review 2:A very comfortable ,stylish and spacious room (5) with lovely views over the river to Ross on a Wye atmospherically shrouded in thick fog. This was Halloween weekend after all. Lovely large shower in en suite and 2 really comfortable chairs to sink into and watch tv after a meal in the friendly pub just opposite. Really delicious breakfast especially the plum and cinnamon compote and perfectly poached eggs. Friendly hosts, all excellent and highly recommended.

Review 3:A stunning location just outside the town. A nice selection of nearby pubs and restaurants with excellent menus. Owners are a lovely couple who have improved the premises to a very high standard

Review 4:nothing

Review 5:Location superb, right by the river with a 10 minute walk into Ross and a decent pub just across the road. View from our room (number 5) was amazing with mist lifting over the river and sun rising over the church steeple. Wonderfully comfortable room with good quality beds and bedding and fabulous shower. Breakfast excellent Really felt that nothing was scrimped and attention to detail observed!

Review 6:Heating System poor for a 'luxury' B&B. Public Room unusable as so cold. Hostess should learn to deal with Customer Issues in a better manner Very expensive for what it is.

Review 7:Lovely Breakfast Very Comfortable Bed

Review 8:The rooms were well decorated and very comfortable. The bathroom in particular was good quality and the breakfast was beautifully cooked and presented.

Review 9:We had the best weekend for a long time. Both Darren and Elena are really lovely people and knowledgeable in all local attractions and places to go. Loved our trip to symmonds yat, which has several hotels and inns on the river to choose from, simply a must do on the list. Would go back again for a longer break. Breathtaking views of the river and a local pub 2 mins accross the road so why not have a meal and drink or two? Thanks again Darren & Elena hope to see you both again. Jackie

Review 10:No reflection on the accomodation or owners , but Ross-On-Wye really does need a proper make over as it is not a place we would visit again in its present condition ,which is quite sad as other surrounding villages were beautifully maintained

Review 11:Very friendly owners greeted us on arrival and were attentive to all our needs. Decor and furnishings were exceptional and had been set in a delightfull surroundings. It was as good as home from home and we highly recommend this to others

Review 12:I would have preferred to have longer to vacate the accommodation on a Sunday 11am is a tad early. It would be nice if breakfast could be served from 8.30- to 10.30 instead of 8.30 to 9.30. This would then make it an excellent Bed and Breakfast

Review 13:The owners Darren and Elena were very accommodating, they live next door but helpful and discreet. There is a lounge for peoples use, breakfast is very very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the whole room and en-suite very clean.

Review 14:Compared to most B&B's that we have stayed in it lacked a personal approach. More information about walks and local places to visit would have been useful.

Review 15:Very clean, comfortable bed. Convenient location with a 15 minute riverside walk to the town.

Review 16:Brilliant location, walking distance into the centre of Ross.Great guest house run by a lovely couple, house is spotless, breakfast is fab(especially the poached eggs).Just across the road from a nice pub on the river.

Review 17:Need a mirror set fro safety to see the traffic. Turning out of theB&B is rather deadly! Didn't like the 2.5% charge to use acredit card to pay- lucky we had enough cash.

Review 18:Loved the glorious river views and easy parking. Loved the sheets, decor, and the breakfast. Easy walk into town across the river.

Review 19:Spacious and tasteful room with very comfortable bed. Nice selection ofClipper teas etc, use of a fridge and glasses in communal lounge (thusnot cluttering up bedroom) 10 minute, delightful riverside walk intoRoss on Wye, and riverside pub garden accross the road for sundowners.Lovely breakfast with delicious fruit salad, with good choice of musicto munch to! Hospitable folks without being ott.

Review 20:lacked atmosphere / soul / warmth - a one minute explanation of the facilities and the landlord was gone so it felt like a 'sheep dip'. It needs a bar / restaurant and a bit of craic! Can't fault the room though which was exceptional - great if you want to be left to your own devices
