Reviews for Irene Rooms
Review 1:The location is great but the room reminded me of ones I've stayed in as a student, many years ago! The room was musty. The mattresses on the beds were so thin you could feel the springs, we had to put the musty duvets on top as a topper!! The electrics are a fire hazard waiting to happen. The whole room needs an upgrade for the money they charge.
Review 2:The location.
Review 3:The staff was never there in case you need any help The first day the warm water was enough only for one of us to take shower. The next days it was ok.
Review 4:Excellent location between the main square and the bus stop Good wifi Big room with nice balcony
Review 5:Better pillows would be nice.
Review 6:Simple, clean rooms with basic amenities. If you plan on spending most of your time at the beach and in town in the evenings, it's a great option. Seconds from the buses to the beach, and the port.
Review 7:I have nothing bad to say.
Review 8:Irene and her husband was a very nice couple. The husband picked me up at the port. And i had a nice stay with real greec feeling to it.clean rooms.
Review 9:Location is great, two minutes from squares but away from noises. Facilities very good, everything functional. There is no reception but Irene's son is always around in the morning, and when we had to check out we went to a restaurant 5 mins away to look for Irene. People who complain about the absence of staff didn't get at all the spirit of Folegandros, an island of relax, trust, good people! What's the need of a 24h reception?! Plus, it is Irene rooms, not Irene b&b. Definitely recommendable.
Review 10:The rooms were not cleaned and beds were not made up.The rooms were up a flight of steps and no help was offered with the luggage by the driver who met us at thye port in a Nissan Micra and insisted on taking 3 of us with cases in one trip. Most uncomfortable and cramped. We took dinner in thgeir own restaurant the first night. The fish was mostly batter and bone yet the cost was as expensive as decent restaurants elsewhere.4 euros for mythos;2.5 euros elsewhere in Folegandros.Shall not be staying there again.
Review 11:The location was good.Right on the edge of town.
Review 12:Could do with new mattresses, did not clean room while we was there (4days),
Review 13:Good central location, very friendly owners, picked us up at ferry, drove us back to ferry,
Review 14:The view was outstanding. We had a terrace with view west, east south and almost north. So sunrise and sunset from home!! Without asking for it Irene´s husband picked us up in the harbour and took us to the ferry the day we had to leave. We were walking a lot and the Chora is outstanding in Greece I dare to say. We really loved our living and the stay in Folegandros and Irenes rooms!
Review 15:nothing, I stayed longer, folegandros is gorgeous!
Review 16:Clean, bright & spacious, perfect location, plus a bonus was having a fridge and hot plate for making coffee and boiling an egg ....coffee on the balcony, perfect.
Review 17:The set-up is slightly strange as there is no 'reception' area or staff on-site. You have to go to a restaurnant in town if you have any queries and to check in and check out. The plumbing was a bit erratic but manageable!
Review 18:We booked the last available rooom and were surprised to find it was the best one! We had a lovely balcony with a view over the mountain. The room was spacious and clean and less than a minute walk to the chora with lovely little bars, restaurants and stunning views.....better than Santorini! The owner's husband came to collect us from the port and dropped us back the day we were leaving. We stayed for four days but would have liked to stay much longer! Exceptional value for money.
Review 19:First the owner, Irene, didn't answer my requests via e-mail, after that, when we arrived in the town, we only met her by a lucky coincidence (asking her about the way to the pension) and even then she didn't come with us, but told somebody else to show us the pension, who could not speak English. From that time on, we've never seen her again and the only persons we could 'talk' to in person was the cleening lady who could only speak Greek. The room: There were traces of killed moskitoes on the walls everywere (and becoming much more while our stay!!!) and the bathroom was indeed the size for a puppet. Comparing it to other places which were less expensive it really looked ugly and there was no intention to make it look differentlly. But the worst was the owner herself, as she became very rude, when we asked to leave the room after the first terrible night. She just told us either to take a room without a proper window, or to leave without getting the money back. Never again!!!
Review 20:Positive about our stay at Irenes Rooms was the central location and the nice balcony and the fact, that they gave us a three bed room instead of a double.
Review 21:the shower was extremely small and it was hard to take a shower without wetting the whole area
Review 22:the location, the taverna run by the owner of the studios
Review 23:Beds a little hard. No aircon in the room
Review 24:Situated 1 min walk from Chora centre, 2 mins from bus stop for island travel. Helpful staff and the owner tried frantically to find me another room elsewhere after I decided to stay on the island 2 more nights.
Review 25:The private balcony was used from the staff itself, who were sitting before our window gossiping every morning while we were sleeping. The bathroom was so small it couldn't fit two people. Also it (bathroom) didn't feel clean because the toilet seat was plastic and there was no towel for our feet (to dry them when getting out) except a dirty little rag (yak!). FInally, the plates and glasses weren't clean for use.(At least the staff gave us some washing up liquid, although it was hard to wash anything in the tiny bath sink.)
Review 26:The location was good! You could go back to your room from the central "plateia" in 2 minutes time. Everyday the staff would tell us which beaches to visit according to the weather. They even gave us a spare umbrella!
Review 27:Irene arranged for her husband to pick me up from the port & a late check out of the evening of my departure
Review 28:Room small, unconfortable beds super small bathroom
Review 29:Location
Review 30:The people renting it are not very friendly
Review 31:Its a plcae near the city
Review 32:Just a 2 minute walk into the square a good choice of restaurants. Good well kept rooms bus to the port across the road. Just the place to chill and let the world go by.
Review 33:no cleaning in four days, no collection of rubbish, no new towels. No wifi. Building works opposite my balcony with fairly poor views. The Chora itself very picturesque but far from any beaches.
Review 34:The owner was friendly, collected me from the port and took me back. The "rooms' were in a quiet side street without any chance of traffic. I had fascinating fellow clients.
