Reviews for Tholaria Boutique Hotel
Review 1:In late September, as it is off season some of the restaurants do not open and the boat trips do not run to the neighbouring islands which was a shame but there is still plenty to discover on the island and that is not a relfection on the Tholaria!
Review 2:Everything about the Tholaria is perfect. The island is so accomodating even in the off season the weather is lovely and it is so peaceful and relaxing. The hotel itself being run by the family who are all a delight and welcome you to their hotel which is 5* in regards to its accomodation. We initially had a deluxe suite next to the reception which was lovely, a perfect size for a couple with a balcony with a table and two chairs with the most beautiful views to the castle and the sea. On our third night, Mike offered us the family suite as it was free and also helped out a guest arriving who had hurt their leg and couldn't manage the stairs. This suite was amazing (I have already booked it for next year!) two bedrooms large kitchen and sitting area and a large balcony that again looks out over the castle, the sea and gets the sun all day. The interiors are beautiful, clean, modern but with that lovely Greek traditional edge. The breakfast provided was perfect - home cooked traditional food and an array of continental delicacies. We fuelled up for the day and spent the week relaxing both by the hotel pool and on the numerous beaches on the island. Liza and Mike organised a hire car for us and we had that for three days of our week long stay. The other four we explored Chora and Livadi by foot. I would advise to get a car to go further afield but in hindsight, I will be getting a 4x4 to tackle the more off road routes and really take in all of the island! This hotel is a diamond place to stay - everything is so relaxed, easy going and delightful you can do as little or as much as you want, enjoy the sun, the good food from the hotel and surrounding restaurants and attempt to learn a bit of Greek!

Review 5:Nothing special to say !
Review 6:The view on the castle and on the sea from our family suite was amazing. The hotel is well located : not far away from Livadi beach and very close to the city center of Chora (5mn walking). The place is very quiet and comfortable (the facilities and equipments are new and well maintained). The staff is absolutely nice and efficient, always available and ready to help. We were accompanied from and to the local airport (which was very practical). And the greek breakfast was great !
Review 7:No remarks
Review 8:The Hotel was wonderful, the owner very helpful and kind. The Hotel position is strategic, car parking available. I will certainly come back Internet was working well (uncommon in small Greek island)
Review 9:Friendly family hotel in a very quiet place with an excellent breakfast. The room was great with a beautiful modern bathroom, fantastic view and good wifi in the room. Very comfortable, everything was perfect for us!!!
Review 10:Excellent boutique hotel, very friendly and helpful staff, great location, gorgeous homemade breakfast with local speciallities.
Review 11:Superb hospitality
Review 12:Everything without exception was superb including the hand made apple tarts which were a picture of delight.
Review 13:nothing to write here!
Review 14:Nice pool, you don't notice the stuff is even there. It is like being at home!
Review 15:glorious location, wonderful hospitality....and no other tourists in town! .tranquil, peaceful and totally calming.
Review 16:no any negative comment
Review 17:Perfect location, excelent facilities very polite and helpfull staff grade breakfast with Greek local products
Review 18:No hot water for the shower but this was rectified when we reported it.
Review 19:Beautifully designed hotel in peaceful location. Great views of the sea, town and islands. The studio was comfortable and well equipped.Breakfasts were delicious and there was plenty of choice includingfreshly cooked cakes and savouries.Family who run the hotel are veryattentive and provide great service, including arranging a hire car forus. The hotel is convenient for the town, beach and port but having a cardid help with the steep climbs. Must be one of the most attractive Greekislands and definitely one to revisit.
Review 20:Probably the best place to stay in Astipalaia! Hotel has 9 different suites some with own plunge pool, each beautifully equipped and decorated. All have excellent sea views. Rooms are bright and spacious and have comfortable beds. The breakfast was very good with a large slection of homemade items. . Owners and staff made our stay a very pleasant experience
Review 21:Beautiful location, just outside Chora, with commanding views of thesea and the castle. We stayed in suite with living room/kitchen, 2bedrooms, shower/WC and large balcony. Kitchen fully equipped forself-catering if you want to (although we didn't). Overall suitewas well=appointed and clean. Plenty of hot water. Owners weredelightful and attentive; always helpful - rather like staying withfriends. Breakfast was plentiful and enjoyable - yoghurt, toastedsandwiches, bread, meat, cheese, cake, juice etc. If staying a few daysits worth hiring a car as the hill from the port to the Chora is steepand long. And a car makes it much easier to see more of the island.Visiting in April allowed us to drive to remoter parts and then walk.We hired from Manolis Lakis on the quay, and were well pleased.Arriving, we flew from Kos (via Kalymnos and Leros, all in an hour anda half), but left on a ferry to Kalymnos. Be warned that the ticketagent who sells tickets for the Nissos Kalmnos only opens for an houror so before the boat arrives. We were told that tickets were sold'in front of the boat' immediately prior to departure, butdidn't test this. On the day we left the Nissos Kalymnos travelledvery slowly and took 4 hours to reach Kalymnos.
Review 22:If you are planning to go in Astypalaia, Tholaria Boutique Hotel is a perfect choice for your accommodation. Big rooms, Good Staff, High quality services and very good sea view. Also is inly 300 m from the center of the town.
