Reviews for The Fleece Inn

Review 1:Stayed at The Fleece for two nights in January. Room was very cosy, clean and comfortable. Ate and drank in the pub both nights. Excellent food and beer at very reasonable prices. Breakfasts also great, plenty to choose from and nicely cooked. Staff very friendly and helpful. The Fleece is just what you need before and after a day on t'moors! Definitely recommended.

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:Beautiful, spacious rooms with a homely feel. Fantastic breakfast after a good nights sleep on a comfy bed. Visited other bed and breakfast in the area but none compared to the Fleece at the same price.

Review 4:It did state free parking but did manage to park easily at bro te parsonage

Review 5:location excellent food was excellent staff were friendly rooms were very nice

Review 6:There's a noisy self-closing door in the corridor and unfortunately a problem guest (not the venue's fault) and the two combined with deleterious effect.

Review 7:The staff are brilliant, the room was excellent, the price was very reasonable, and the food was first rate. Especially the chicken pie which is one of the best I've ever had. Everything is made fresh using local suppliers. The champion beer of Britain (Boltmaker fro Timothy Taylor) plus other excellent real ales on tap. Plus - I stayed for a fell race, checking out the morning of that race and they let me return and use a shower having checked out. Highly recommended

Review 8:Shouldn't complain, but couldn't get WiFi in room. Worth it for the quiet back bedroom but others may see this as more important so best to put it in!

Review 9:Cosy winter break with lovely room, decorated in cottage style. Friendly staff and good value, delicious food with discount for guests.

Review 10:Stayed on 10th Dec with family. Rooms are cozy and warm very clean with little touches such as flowers and home made biscuits. Breakfast is superb and the evening meal by the open fire was absolutely lovely- highly recommended

Review 11:Great location in the middle of the village. Very clean. Friendly staff. Comfortable room, with great powerful shower. Excellent breakfast in a lovley pub.

Review 12:Not a did not like so much as a suggestion, although the breakfast was very good, having a later sitting would be great.

Review 13:Everything!!, was a comfortable warm and friendly experience from begining to end, wonderful rooms, great food and drink, could not want more.

Review 14:I enjoyed all aspects however, on Saturday evening there was live entertainment downstairs. I enjoyed it but some couples may have been put off by the noise

Review 15:The hospitality of the staff was second to none. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was great value. ?

Review 16:Decor in the pub was rather dark but the room and bathroom were light and airy.

Review 17:Large comfortable room in a traditional pub - walls were built of local stone and luckily seemed so thick the baby's cries couldn't be heard in the next room! Good breakfast.

Review 18:Poor beer, not what I expected from Timothy Taylor. Vacuum cleaner left in the bar area when we came down for breakfast, it was plugged in and the cable was across the main entrance (my husband tripped on this cable).

Review 19:The very friendly staff and the food.

Review 20:Nothing bad to say

Review 21:Really welcoming, helpful and kind staff, who go out of there way for you. Great range of drinks and the food wow. Rooms really nice and the beds really comfy. Would really reccomend the fleece to anyone staying in Haworth. Will be visiting again for sure :-)

Review 22:Parking is tricky.

Review 23:Lovely room equiped with all you would need for a comfortable stay. Staff brilliant even found me a much needed phone charger. Contemporary clean rooms.

Review 24:We were lucky with parking right outside but the impression given that there was parking nearby is misleading as we believe nearby means 'within 100 yards' - this was definitely Not possible.

Review 25:Excellent location. The upgrade to the Luxury Suite for the same price was a real bonus. Lovely room. Good food - can't fault the place.

Review 26:But chilly when we first went into to our room

Review 27:I would certainly recommend The Fleece to friends and family, staff were lovely, the soundings clean and cosy, the atmosphere friendly ...oh the food was great too!

Review 28:Not really 'bad' but I was disappointed with the salmon and scrambled eggs as an alternative to the traditional cooked breakfast. I asked for my eggs runny, and they weren't and the brioche wasn't toasted enough, and the salmon was too chilled.

Review 29:The traditional cooked breakfast used very good quality bacon, sausage and black-pudding.

Review 30:View from our window, blocked by a wall but the room was at the back of the Fleece, have stayed in a beautiful Tom at the front, lovely views

Review 31:The location of the Fleece is brilliant, right on the main old cobbled Street, the staff are very friendly, the pub downstairs is very welcoming and serves lovely food... Def stay again

Review 32:Upstairs toilets although in fairness there was a disabled toilet downstairs.

Review 33:Staff very friendly. Meals excellent, and nicely priced. Beer fantastic. We shall ceratinly go again

Review 34:Bathroom was pretty narrow, bashed elbows a couple of times. Not a complaint, but do bear in mind this is a popular pub so expect some noise from the bar till closing time. Very quiet after that, although there are some very creaky floorboards in the corridor. Limited parking outside so you may need to drop passengers/luggage off first, then find somewhere else nearby.

Review 35:Nice clean comfortable room with good facilities. Very nice breakfast with plenty of choice. Good value in a tourist hotspot.

Review 36:Shelf above tiny sink too large-difficult to have head over sink when brushing teeth. Otherwise excellent

Review 37:Location, friendly staff, free beer taster offer, comfortable room-if small. Nicely decorated.

Review 38:Amazingly helpful staff on arrival and brilliant room and facilities. Excellent food for dinner and breakfast. Able to park outside the Inn, maybe not everyone would be so lucky.

Review 39:It was a pity that most of the facilities (museum, shops) did not open until late morning. I had to leave Haworth by 10am.

Review 40:Very friendly Inn and staff. Was concerned that it might be noisy - but no issue.

Review 41:The room was quite small with not a lot of space to put luggage without falling over it. Not enough electric sockets. Had to pull out a vanity unit/side table to access a plug.

Review 42:The location and friendliness of staff.

Review 43:Bit noisy in the morning with slamming doors in the corridor. Wouldn't put me off staying here though.

Review 44:The room was very nicely decorated with a fab view over the hills. Mattress was comfy and the tea and biscuits in the room were a nice touch- very tasty ginger or short bready type ones, not packet ones. The breakfast was also very nice with a good choice, and plenty of it.

Review 45:Parking was limited in the street, but we were lucky enough to get a park nearby. We had the room looking out at a brick wall, but it didn't really bother us as we were only there to sleep.

Review 46:Great location in delightful street with cute shops. We had dinner there as well as breakfast and the food was delicious. The young man who checked us in was very polite and helpful.

Review 47:The Fleece is an excellent example of a friendly, well run English pub with clean, very comfortable and well appointed accommodation and delicious food - the scrambled egg at breakfast was exemplary! The pub food served in the evening was just what was needed and I must mention the wide selection of well kept Timothy Taylor's ales. I used the excellent public transport in the area, buses and trains as well as a local taxi firm to visit many parts of West Yorkshire.

Review 48:Traditional Pub with Good Atmosphere, Good Food, Good Beer, Friendly Staff & Comfy Bed. Had a drink in the other pubs in Haworth and was glad I picked this one to stay in.

Review 49:To be in the centre of this famous street and in a pub, B & B of such high standard was most enjoyable. The room was extremely comfortable and we later met friends and dined in the pub, enjoying an excellent meal.

Review 50:Very relaxing stay. Couldnt fault anything. Roof garden was excellent to chill out on and breakfasts fantastic. The staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. Location right on the high street handy for everything.

Review 51:Lovely room, great food. Breakfast was excellent and we ate in the restaurant in the evening. Good choice of menu, nicely cooked. Modern facilities in a great central location.

Review 52:There was no wifi in my room. I didn't mention it until the following morning. My fault. The inn has a limited number of parking places. I think they should let it be known. Apart from that I enjoyed my stay.

Review 53:Really enjoyed my stay. Staff were welcoming and friendly. If you want to visit Bronte country I would thoroughly recommend a stay at the Fleece.

Review 54:Anything. Worse thing was the room we stayedin. It had a stone wall immediately outside the small window, so necessitated the light having to be on all the time. It was awful. Please anyone booking here, ascertain before you arrive which room you will be allocated. Avoid rooms 4 & 6. They are awful. I have written to customer services at Booking.com about it.

Review 55:Nothing!

Review 56:The staff were very friendly from the minute we arrived. Location is great and we had a lovely view from our room. Comfort of bed was great too. The downstairs pub is just that, a pub, but it was just what we wanted. Felt like being part of the community for a couple of days! Close to the Bronte Parsonage and you train to other nearby villages if you don't have a car.

Review 57:Excellent value for money, good selection of real ales plus reasonably priced and varied menu. Clean and tidy with friendly helpful staff. Would definitely stop again

Review 58:My bathroom basin had a large shelf directly above it making it impossible to shave without washing the floor

Review 59:Great staff, great food, great beer, fabulous area, wished i could have stayed longer.

Review 60:Rooms were spotless.beds had fresh white cotton sheets, and very comfortable.Nice little touches with free toiletries, also fresh cookies to enjoy with your tea or coffee!

Review 61:Nothing not to like !!!

Review 62:Fantastic location. Great rooms and food. We ate in the bar at night. 6 of us ate different dishes, and everyone commented on how good it was. Breakfast was also exceptional

Review 63:The rather loud music during the evening. We don't mind the music if we can find somewhere it's not too loud, but there couldn't. Also the singer couldn't sing in tune.

Review 64:The beer :-)

Review 65:Wi-fi almost non-existent - could only access it (occasionally) from one of the bar rooms, not my own room, which was irritating because I was on a working trip and I needed to send emails. Information in the room does explain that thick walls may interfere with wi-fi access, but I didn't find that out till I got there.

Review 66:Excellent location, comfortable room (with cookie jar!), good breakfast - outstanding value.

Review 67:Limited parking was a problem but owner had sorted parking for us a little distance from Inn, It is situated on a steep incline - as most of the town is - so driving was a little scary. Room was a little small but very nice.

Review 68:It's location was excellent. On main street for historic interest. Also, some lovely shops nearby. Owner very helpful. Room decor was inviting.

Review 69:No parking at Inn, Mattress in single room seemed to have a slope which was rather uncomfortable.

Review 70:Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Food was excellent Room was very clean and welcoming

Review 71:A little noisy through the window of Room 6.as we could hear a generator.

Review 72:Very accomodating about the fact that I had special dietary needs. Excellent food generally. Friendly staff.

Review 73:Unfortunately parking was a real problem. We had to park our car two streets away. The room we were in was very dark due to a very small window and noisy due to the kitchen extractor fan

Review 74:Staff were so friendly and helpfull

Review 75:Pub could use a refurb and was a little "tired" looking in the carpets, paint etc. Was a little worried about what our room would be like from seeing the downstairs but was pleasantly surprised. Bathroom in the room also could have been a bit nicer but was adequate.

Review 76:Room looked to have been recently refurbished and bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with little touches like fancy glass Kilner jars for the milk etc. Pub had a good selection of drinks and was in a good location right on the cobbled street in Haworth. Decent price for the stay.

Review 77:Limited nearby parking.

Review 78:Comfortable room, friendly staff, choice and quality of beer served. Food choice, but remember it is a pub, so it's bar food. Ideally situated for KWV Railway, Bronte Museum and Worth Valley walks.

Review 79:Nothing significant

Review 80:Rooms were excellent, breakfast also good value. Staff very friendly. A great location central for haworth , parking is available not far away too. Only disappointment was they ran out of some food choices but this was a Sunday evening although not being able to provide any rice for their curry I found rather poor as its an easy item to stock and cook, otherwise really pleased with our stay overall

Review 81:Parking can be a headache but staff will advise. TV in the room was a bit small. There is noise from the bar below but that is to be expected and it's a criticism from me.

Review 82:Lovely room with good quality facilities. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Food and drink excellent.

Review 83:Nothing really.

Review 84:Food and ales were excellent and very good value (discount offered to hotel guests). Very helpful and welcoming staff, despite our extremely bedraggled appearance when we arrived. Excellent breakfast, good range of options.

Review 85:Had to drop off bags then go looking for somewhere to park which when found was another pubs car park. Couldn't open window in the bedroom due to being by the side of kitchen and was too noisy.

Review 86:On arriving we were met by member of staff who was very friendly and took myself to the room. Room was excellent, The bed and mattress was of excellent quality. Breakfast once again meeted and greeted excellent choices to choose from. Everybody was friendly would recommend this pub.

Review 87:I parked in a supposedly 'safe' zone & found I had a £70 parking fine the following morning. Made it an expensive trip.

Review 88:Loved the ambience, comfort, bar, breakfast, & room.

Review 89:The camp bed was not suitable for either of us - admittedly we had been warned it was for a child. The double bed was small, which made for a restless night. The room was small - so there was little room to move around - especially with the camp bed erected.

Review 90:Friendly staff who were proactive about calling me when they had no twin beds, and offered a camp bed so my god daughter and I did not have to share. They stored our bags for us once we had checked out, until we left Haworth

Review 91:Nothing really. If I had to say something it would be to have the gorgeous biscuits replaced after I scoffed then the first evening coz they were so nice!

Review 92:Lovely cozy comfy decor in room. Excellent location to just pop back for a cup of tea or to use the bathroom in room. Really lovely evening meals, lots of choice.

Review 93:There is no parking at all. The area is incredibly steep. The nearest car park was too far to walk up steep roads. Being a pub it is very noisy at night. Our room was right over the front door. We were unable to book a table in the tiny restaurant area due to a booking for a party of local residents.

Review 94:The view from the room.

Review 95:No complaints at all.

Review 96:Very welcoming staff and an immaculately clean room. I enjoyed an evening meal in the restaurant, again with excellent service. A veggi breakfast listed on the menu and they happily kept my bag whilst I went exploring.

Review 97:Lovely pub, with a great atmosphere. All staff friendly and very helpful. Bedroom was spotless and very well appointed with lovely views. Food in the restaurant was delicious and fresh. Breakfast was to die for with loads of choice. Have re booked for June :)

Review 98:The location is superb

Review 99:The fleece is warm friendly and spotless clean. We ate in the pub food was excellent as was the breakfast. The staff were very helpful and couldn't do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We will be returning for sure .

Review 100:I couldn not connect to the wifi because of poor signal for the whole stay.

Review 101:Great view from the room, cosy room with tv and nice bathroom with make up mirror and shower :)

Review 102:I could not speak more highly of this place, lovely cosy pub with fire, friendly staff, fantastic breakfast, clean and smart room which are cleaned each day!

Review 103:Staff were lovely, Room was great, Good food and a great atmosphere in this lovely Inn. A stones throw from the Bronte Museum. The village itself is beautiful with its cobbled streets and rows of unique little quaint shop fronts. The residents are friendly and very helpful as were the Fleece Inn staff. couldn't fault the place.... It is also a very dog friendly town. (we're from Eire so not sure if most of the UK is like this) but dogs are welcome everywhere 'as long as their owners are well behaved!!' and no, no dirty streets as a result. Everywhere lovely and clean.

Review 104:Nothing, it was all good.

Review 105:Single travellers usually get "shoved in a cupboard" somewhere but not at The Fleece Inn, really enjoyed our stay. Lovely rooms for both my friend and myself, warm, comfortable and clean. Superb 'unhurried' breakfasts and excellent bar food.

Review 106:excellent location, friendly and helpful staff, clean room and great view. my daughter and I had a really lovely visit. Would recommend although parking a bit tricky, we were lucky and parked outside the Inn,

Review 107:Should've asked how to turn the air con off, it kept going on/off all night which kept me awake.

Review 108:Loved the location, stayed there for a race which started right outside. Staff really friendly and helpful especially when we had to check out late

Review 109:Be wary of the hills. Very steep. Luckily my parents are fit and well and managed okay. The inn is positioned at the top of a steep cobbled hill. I imagine after a few beverages or a long day out exploring this could turn out problematic for some!

Review 110:My parents really enjoyed their stay at The Fleece. They mentioned that the staff were really friendly and gave them useful advice about things to visit in the area. Great location for the 'Winter Steam Spectacular' event they went to on the railway as my dad is a real trains enthusiast! Nice walks nearby, cafes and craft shops. They thought that the food and ale were nice and great value at the inn too! Finally, they can't wait to go back. I might join them for a few beers in the area next time too- lots of other great pubs nearby on the same street!

Review 111:having to leave

Review 112:charming pub with great food and well kept beer.room very clean and spacious, lovely evening meal; and excellent breakfast..staff very friendly and helpful; a real gem..

Review 113:Very impressed with the helpfulness of the staff in helping to arrange a little finishing touch for a birthday surprise. Comfortable place to stay, good food, good bar and friendly atmosphere. Will definitely be back :-)

Review 114:We stayed in bedroom 4 which was very nice apart from the steps down to the bathroom which were treacherous when dark. They would benefit from some subdued floor lighting. A small thing but could save a nasty accident.

Review 115:A local pub with friendly staff, beer was excellent and the food ( we had lunch, dinner and breakfast ) was very good. Looking forward to the next visit.

Review 116:toilet roll was extra thin and spoilt the quality of the en suite (me been picky)

Review 117:room was very clean and cozy, lovely comfortable bed with ample of pillows. en suite was filled little extras ie shampoo, shower caps, cotton wool buds etc. Pub had a good atmosphere with real open fire and nice leather sofas. Breakfast was excellent.

Review 118:A very warm welcome, a small but spotlessly clean room with all the facilities that I needed. The evening meal was excellent value, and I highly recommend the home made steak and kidney pie. Great breakfast as well.

Review 119:Loved the welcome, the decor of the room and how the quirks were made the most of. It was a small single room but easy to move around. Very comfy bed, nice linen and spotless. Fish and chips had great crispy batter, the beers were spot on. Busy right through the evening (in a good way) but places to sit and attentive staff. Staff went the extra ten miles to be helpful. I couldn't get online although the landlady was on OK. And staff looked stuff up for me. Brilliant service.

Review 120:couldn't get wi-fi in our room but as explained it was due to the nature of the building.

Review 121:Hosts very friendly, room immaculate and very tastefully decorated, good food, excellent breakfast.

Review 122:The main street was very quiet. Most of the shops were closed.

Review 123:the staff were brilliant. Beautiful room and very comfy bed. The food was great. Would definately stay here again.

Review 124:Excellent food, especially breakfast.Good pub grub menu which was value for money Beautiful room Friendly staff 10% discount on drinks and food during your stay

Review 125:That is was only one night stay.

Review 126:Very helpful as we had to leave very early so didn't have breakfast, so they provide a small food package of sandwich, fruit, crisps, water and biscuits. This was so welcome later on in the day.

Review 127:Bed creeks at the smallest of movement

Review 128:Myself and my girlfriend stayed here on the 1/1/15 as she went when she was a child and loved it. Upon arriving there was a lovely atmosphere and greeted very nicely by staff. Shown up to our room which again was great ( beds really comfy! But creeks if you want a leg over ) we had a meal whilst staying and it was cooked to perfection execellent and good sized portions! Overall I would certainly reccomend this to anyone.

Review 129:Friendliness of all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Four couples celebrating NYE had a meal in the pub which was great, nice touch of complimentary testing beers for each room and 10per cent off food and drinks for residents. Could not fault the place we will be back!
