Reviews for Pylaia Boutique Hotel & Spa
Review 1:Temporary problem with TV and WiFi but no doubt it will be solved!
Review 2:Everything! Large, clean and comfortable room with an extremely comfortable bed. Great staff who are friendly & understanding and really obliging.
Review 3:Could not find anything to dislike. I wish all the hotels I visit from now on to be just like this one.
Review 4:The room was excellent, very clean, with a magnificent view. We found everything we expected, fresh towels, espresso machine, an magestic bed and a great shower. The personnel was always ready to facilitate our every need, the breakfast was of very good quality and entailed local flavours and finally the position of the hotel is 5 minutes walking from the main establishment of the island.
Review 5:1)The bathroom was poorly designed with a tiny shower that was impossible to use without getting the whole room wet. 2)The a/c was not very effective, and since the electricity was connected only with the room key inserted in to the provided slot, the room was not air conditioned most of the day. 3)Contrary to the website claims, my executive double room did not have a mini-safe; when I inquired, I was told only the suites have them. 4)The swimming pool is split into two sections, each not much larger than a plunge pool and not really good for actual swimming. 5)The pool bar was never open, and neither was the small boutique off of the reception. 6)In most cases, the service was polite and adequate but diffident. Unacceptably, my room service tray was left on the landing outside my room for nearly 24 hours in 95 degree heat. 7)Access to my room involved walking down a steep hill to the reception level, taking an elevator down two levels, walking down the equivalent of two flights of stairs, walking across the pool deck, and walking up two flights of stairs. Needless to say, it didn't encourage any but the most necessary trips. 8) the on-site restaurant and bar were pleasant but not of the caliber that some of the reviews had led me to expect, and were not much patronized. There were no other nearby options for dining.
Review 6:Astypalea is a beautiful but remote island. The site of the hotel and the views it offers are spectacular, but you really need to rent a car or motorcycle to get around. Bus service is infrequent at best and only two taxis serve the entire island. The beach at Livadia and the Chora are not as accessible by foot as I expected. Be prepared for steep walks to get anywhere and for lots of steps within the hotel complex itself. The design of the hotel is minimalist and modern--I had chairs designed by Eames and Starck in my room. The balcony, although not large, had a sea view and a wood clothes drying rack was provided along with a table and two chairs. The included breakfast buffet was one of the better ones I've had in Greece, and offered, in addition to the usual fare, Greek specialties such as scrambled eggs with tomato and homemade rice pudding.
Review 7:Wi-fi doesn't work well, worn-out plumbing and sockets, unjustified high prices for accommodation, a swimming pool is too small. Not support the concept of a boutique hotel.
Review 8:A good sea view
Review 9:Up to the standards of the international traveler, it has very good architecture, a very nice view of the dramatic scenery of the island (though not of the Castle). Moonrise from sea-level is always a plus. Excellent Breakfast, Including some of the island's delicacies
Review 10:Spending just four days there!
Review 11:Wonderful boutique hotel, we really enjoyed our stay, the new spa is a great addition and the food in the restaurant excellent. Highly recommended. The island is beautiful, the locals most friendly and boasts great beaches. Not too many tourists and can be easily reached with a direct flight from Athens.
Review 12:Wifi a bit iffy especially in the room
Review 13:Everything was excellent apart from...
Review 14:Friendly personnel and very helpfull!
Review 15:The hotel is great! It is very close to the main town, has an amazing view on the sea and the staff is always eager to assist you. It is decorated with good taste. Also, we really enjoyed the breakfast buffet and the little snacks offered every afternoon.
Review 16:Time of Arrival and Departure to wonderful quiet Island. Boat leavong times are only every 2 days at 5.15 am going North. Air travel possible from Kos or Athens but only 3 flights per week and expensive. Island needs better more regular air and sea communications.
Review 17:High Quality Accomodation. Best on Island. Modern with small pool and fantastic views within walking distance of Castle and Beach. Quiet. Helpful Staff and free shuttles to Port and Airport.
Review 18:Many stairs to reach room
Review 19:Beautiful & clean room Great location Breakfast
Review 20:Too many stairs
Review 21:Good views,convenient to attractions,comfortable rooms,friendly staff
