Reviews for Dana Villas

Review 1:The booking.com confirmation that we have mentions that transfer to and from airport / pickup would be provided by Dana Villas free of cost for our reservation. However we had to pay extra for the transfer.

Review 2:Upgrade to a junior suite. The view was blocked by the tree ahead.

Review 3:The bed downstairs was pretty hard but was more of a couch/daybed, the island was a bit deserted but that's not the resorts fault, also buy bottled water from the local store it's 1€ for 9liters it's advised you don't drink the tap water, again not the resorts fault

Review 4:We had an amazing stay for the Christmas week at Dana villas, the staff were all great, don't stress too much about bags the porters do it for you, also don't listen to complaints about walking down a few steps... It's Santorini the entire west side of the island is on a slope so go somewhere else if you're fat and lazy. Maria ran a great breakfast and the chef did up some really nice dinners for us. I'd stay again happily! The main town has lots of shops that were still open during December, they're just a 5min walk away, there's a great cafe 'vegetarian and much more' which had great food that was super cheap too if you are checking out Fira.

Review 5:Too many stairs but it is traditional Santorini style houses! Just get prepared to have some physical exercises!

Review 6:The staff are very lovely people. They offered me the best room in front of the pool where I could enjoy sunbath and see the amazing sunset. And the breakfast buffet next to the pool is the best way to start the day! What's more, they have 2 super cute cats - Mimi and Dana!

Review 7:the stairs too many but worth the sweats not suitaable for young child and old people

Review 8:the room beautiful the utilities adequate the staffs polite and helpful the balcony view superb the breakfast delicious

Review 9:Very nice stay here during the week of November 1st. The staff was exceptional, everyone was very friendly and made my stay here enjoyable. The view is amazing, great view from anywhere on the property. Will definitely return in the summer to take advantage of the pool.

Review 10:Breakfast was a little hit and miss. Yoghurt was not stored well and was very thick. Tea and coffee was mediocre tasteless.

Review 11:Staff are friendly, helpful and informative. Great location for stunning views.

Review 12:Being given a room which clearly was not a junior suite, even though that is what I paid for. I'm sure that the junior suites were reserved for people who were with the wedding parties. A junior suite is supposed to be big enough for 3 people - ours definitely wasn't - room 115. Initially we were put in room 106 - what a horrible dark hole and DEFINITELY not a junior suite No electric kettle in the room - just a saucepan. When we asked for a kettle we were told that the saucepan was the only means of boiling water! Is this one of the perks of booking a Junior Suite?! The photos on your booking website for Junior Suites bear no resemblance to the room we were given. The room was very outdated; bathroom was awful, looked like it belonged in the 60s. Poor and repetitive breakfast - not even freshly squeezed orange juice - shame on you. The breakfast room was far too small to comfortably accommodate more than 2 guests at one time. We milled around trying to avoid bumping into each other in order to reach the breakfast items. We were so, so disappointed and angry that we had been fobbed off with a lower standard of room to that for which we paid. No doubt if we had been getting married we would have had a much better experience, as well as access to all areas of the hotel. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone. Will anyone take any notice of this review? Or do you just want accolades? .

Review 13:Location, and helpfulness of staff.

Review 14:The music at breakfast was annoying; it would have been nice to enjoy the breathtaking views in silence.

Review 15:The most amazing view from our balcony. The room was big enough for 4 people, but the bathroom very small.

Review 16:STEPS, STEPS everywhere but that is the beautiful Santorini. What to expect when you live on the side of a volcano.

Review 17:Views staff and food amazing. Staff very helpful.

Review 18:Wifi was very poor. Most of the time it would run so slow it wasn't worth using. Cost of the booking was charged at check out. It would of been a lot better if it was taken out at the time of booking or soon after booking. Although I enjoyed the exercise there is a lot of stairs to climb. Over 170 stairs from our room.

Review 19:The view is incredible

Review 20:The hotel's food was by and large shockingly bad and still very pricey. Ie. no fresh juice at breakfast. Food that looked like it was from a can. The hotel overall is rather dated and the pool area lacks shade and comfort. The pool water also had a strange smell and taste.

Review 21:The staff were very friendly and helpful both before and during our stay. The room was very spacious, unique and comfortable. Basically you are paying for the view which can't be beat.

Review 22:The staff were amazing and the breakfast was absolutely delicious! Could not fault it. Our suite was on the pool level amd in the most perfect location to view the amazing sunset. Really could not have asked for anything more perfect than Dana Villas. Every part about it was incredible and my partner and i are considering having our wedding there.

Review 23:We had such a lovely experience at Dana Villas, it was our honeymoon so upgraded us to a room with a private balcony and the most amazing views weve ever seen in our lives! The staff made you feel like family, the food was delicious, the pool and area were inviting and our room was to spacious, clean and more than comfortable!

Review 24:Terrace was next to the terrace of the neighbours without a blind in between. Some rooms have their terrace directly at the frequented steps - so those won't have their privacy- watch out which room/villa you book.

Review 25:We had the impression of having made the perfect choice: the hotel has the most stunning view - better than at Oia in respect of the sunsets and panoramic view - and most important : one is separated from the masses at Thira and the crowds of Oia. Just some steps away is the pitoresque village of Thirostefani for shopping and dinning out and Thira is within walking distance for the museums or more shopping activity.

Review 26:The stairs were a bit exhausting. I understand that it is necessary for the unique cliff side but it was challenging

Review 27:The view were amazing! The food was very good! The room was very comfortable and unique! We attended a wedding here and it was incredible

Review 28:I asked early check-in and they said it's possible. When I arrived, staff insisted that the room had booked the day before. So, I asked to janitor and she said the room is empty, then I went back to staff and he gave a key:( The sunset is blocked by buildings. The worst was that they even give no complementary water for the most expensive room in their villa. The wifi was terrible in the room. The most terrible place during my honeymoon.

Review 29:Nice view and pools. Moderate breakfast.

Review 30:Thank you Dana Villa for the wonderful room. They kindly upgraded us to a magnificent room. Breathtaking view & couldn't have asked for anything more. Santorini sunset at its best, location great, friendly ,helpful staff. Highly recommended.

Review 31:Rooms feel a bit dated vs a luxury hotel but this was certainly outweighed by all the reset of the great parts of the hotel

Review 32:Beautiful views, great staff (especially Maria the breakfast attendant!) and spacious rooms

Review 33:The stairs going up the reception or exiting Dana Villa.

Review 34:Best place ever. We have enjoyed our stay, clean, nice and helpful staffs. We stayed in rm 120, the view was spectacular.

Review 35:We spoke with the staff about a few of the site seeing tours. The staff forgot to mention there would be extra charges on top of the package price for entrance fees to some of the stops. Not a huge deal but most people would like this information upfront. Wifi could be hit and miss some days. Not a strong signal but we managed.

Review 36:The entire staff are amazing. Friendly, helpful and happy. It was a pleasure to stay with them.

Review 37:Some of the furniture in the Outdoor Jacuzzi Suite had rips in it and was not very inviting to sit on. For the price of the place, I would have expected better kept furniture. Breakfast menu was repetitive.

Review 38:Loved the location and the island. Dana Villas is definitely a place where you want to stay when visiting Santorini.

Review 39:Stairs - though it's Santorini!! There's always plenty of stairs!!

Review 40:Amazing, beautiful, friendly, helpful staff (special mention to Maria in the restaurant), beautiful pool and separate jacuzzi with breathtaking views, large and clean rooms, close to great restaurants.

Review 41:nothing at all

Review 42:The view is magnificent. The staff were very helpful particularly Kristina, she helped me a lot on my wedding day and she was very friendly and pleasant during the whole stay. Panos also was very cooperative and helpful. We loved our stay and the hotel is beautiful. We stayed at the grand villa which was very cosy and comfy.

Review 43:We were there right before the start of the season so there was a lot of painting and maintenance going on, but it's gotta be done at some stage.

Review 44:The staff were fantastic, the view was amazing and the whole experience was one to remember!! Highly recommend this place.

Review 45:Look no further..."The Villa" a.k.a. the "Infinity Villa" was to die for. The indoor cave pool was outstanding. The indoor hamman and car wash-like shower were also very impressive. As for the infinity pool...it was a visual and sensual masterpiece. Best villa ever...hands down!

Review 46:They missed my booking of transfer from the port to the villa, fortunately I found the driver faster than the other couple.

Review 47:Excellent staff and great view

Review 48:There are a lot of stairs so if you have trouble with stairs, go elsewhere. Our villa was a little threadbare and in need of some TLC but very comfortable.

Review 49:After a couple weeks on the run through Europe we finished our trip at Dana Villas. What a wonderful view and choice for us for several days of R&R. The breakfast buffet was incredible.

Review 50:I can't describe in words the amazing feeling of being in Dana Villas. The beautiful and 'painteresque' views you are expecting from Santorini, with a lovely and friendly staff, as greeks do! (Hey Mike! :D) and wishing to never leave! It was perfect! Plus...a lucky upgrade to the most beautiful room on earth (not exaggerating!). It was a dream!

Review 51:Some issues with the amount of steps to the breakfast buffet

Review 52:The host was a great guy that made our stay perfect. Very clean and organized and breakfast was perfect.

Review 53:- the room overall - small, very humid, not well lit - cleanliness - shower had some spiders, there were small blood stains on the bedsheets and some cream spread all over the fridge; overall totally unacceptable for the price - Internet connection (not working in rooms and very poor network in the restaurant and reception)

Review 54:You need to go to this hotel only for the view! It is truly spectacular and breathtaking! We were there for 3 nights and we enjoyed it a lot. Best parts: - wonderful sunset in the outside jacuzzi with perfect view of the volcano island and see - lovely and rich breakfast on the hotel terrace - a glass of local wine on our room's terrace - car/ ATV/ motorbike rental at the reception - just 10min walking distance from Fira, where you have a great variety of restaurants

Review 55:These aren't things I didn't like, just tips; Stairs, they didn't bother me at all, but my dad found them hard. The guys are amazing though and carry your luggage to and from your room. Tip them - it's worth it! WIFI is intermittent, but that isn't just at Dana Villas and honestly - put the phone down and enjoy the view!

Review 56:One of the single best experiences of my life. Amazing views, superb friendly service, jacuzzi with views just beyond. Wine and dessert on arrival and Yanis and Maria - hospitality on another level. Really felt like your were looking out from heaven. I would highly recommend.

Review 57:Our stay at Dana Villas was absolutely wonderful. The views from the pool and breakfast area, the hot tub, and our room and balcony were gorgeous. The entire staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We want to specifically point out Maria, who greeted us with a huge smile every morning for breakfast, and Michael at reception who provided answers and helpful tips for all of our questions about the island. We would recommend Dana Villas to any of our friends and family! Thanks to everyone there for a wonderful trip!

Review 58:I had the wedding ceremony at Dana Villas, the ceremony place is so romantic. We also got to have our private dinner. The waiter is so kind and also brings us the blanket in case of the windy weather, he took bunch of pictures for us as well. The villa we lived in was fantastic as well with the infinity pool and inside pool. They gave us feeling of romance throughout our stay and also help transfer our luggage to another hotel. I enjoy my stay so much!

Review 59:If we HAD to mention something, some outside heaters for evening wedding receptions would go down a treat. However the blankets you brought out were fab!

Review 60:We had our wedding at Dana Villas and I can't thank you all enough. The staff were great and other than a vegetarian dish not being vegetarian and being quickly sorted, we can't complain at all. The venue is gorgeous (but do be prepared for lots of steps to and from but it's well worth it!) and the view is something else...you feel like you're on the edge of the world. Thank you for making our day so special, it was perfect! As for the room, this was stunning. We had the VIP suite which was beautiful in the cave and super spacious!

Review 61:We stayed at Dana Villas for 4 nights, arriving on the first night with just enough time to catch the first of the beautiful sunsets. Although being in a smaller room on our first night, we were moved early the next morning. The views from our balcony were like no other, which is the case for any room at the villas. The 150 stairs to get up to or down from the street were more than worth it. The staff were always very friendly and helpful. We would be back for sure!

Review 62:As we had Apple products we were told the wifi didn't always work and this was the case. It was intermittent but this wasn't too much of a problem.

Review 63:The staff were all so helpful, very polite and nothing was too much trouble.

Review 64:Unsure why a transfer wasn't arranged for us from the port to thehotel. All other hotels we stayed at throughout our trip contacted us inadvance to advise that it was not walkable and a transfer would beneeded. We were very lucky that we were able to just fit on the lastshuttle! They did book one for us on the way back which was great. Thereshould also be someone perhaps "monitoring" the area. Therewere some extremely intoxicated and quite aggressive. We could sleep andwere really worried as well.

Review 65:Gorgeous views and amazing hotel. My family frequently stay here and Iwould definitely recommend to others.

Review 66:Indifferent staff. Poor customer service. Weren't given information upon arrival. Left waiting for more than an hour for our key due to cleaning of room (key was there but they forgot to get us hence a walk up the numerous steps to ask about our room). No safe key given upon arrival Had to walk up 214 steps again to get it. Our room was under the pool next to the pool equipment/storage rooms. They called this room the "junior suite". No bedside lights were provided when asked and blocked kitchen sink. Wi ficould only be used on the balcony or restaurant

Review 67:The view and jacuzzi area.

Review 68:Loved it all!

Review 69:We chose to stay at Dana Villas as we booked our wedding ceremony as this venue. Service from the bell boys, restaurant, bar & reception staff was outstanding. The location (apart from the climb up the steps) was superb, with fantastic views of the caldera & sunset. Dana was close to some very good restaurants & cafes-would recommend Vanilia restaurant & Mama Theras Cafe.

Review 70:Wifi doesn't really work. There were lots of weddings which is beautiful to see but it meant the hot tub and some areas were out of bounds. Must mention the steps....you need to be fit there are 170 or so! If you have mobility problems don't stay here.

Review 71:Most Amazing view, lovely pool area, so important in santorini as lots of hotels don't have them & it's hot! The staff are very friendly and helpful particularly the bar staff. Good breakfast. Lovely rooms really comfortable.

Review 72:steps up to top bed ungainly- heavy going on outdoor steps to get anywhere but probably unavoidable due to site

Review 73:most aspects were excellent - stunning views, access to pool, food

Review 74:Be prepared for the 200+ steps in and out! but what do you expect when you are on a cliff top with such wonderful views. Just plan your days carefully when you leave for the day.

Review 75:Dana Villas is situated on a cliff with magnificent views. We had a lovely studio room overlooking the lower pool area. Each evening we could sit and watch the sun set. The friendly staff are hard working and dedicated, especially Maria who is always smiling and helpful. The volcanic eruption re-enactment dinner on the 4th Sunday in August every year is a must. Overall a very unique experience.

Review 76:Lots of steps to climb (not an issue, but other travelers should be aware of it).

Review 77:Perfect view and orientation. Easy access to restaurants. Helpful staff and good service.

Review 78:Everything about Dana Villa was exceptional, location, facilities, staff and management went out of their way to make my stay the best I could have ever wished for.

Review 79:Amazing views. Fantastic helpful staff with Maria making breakfast fun every morning. Lovely rooms, clean with fresh linen everyday dotted up the side of the cliff. We went there for a friends wedding which was magical in that setting but would have stayed there for just a holiday as it was one of the best places we've been to. Highly recommend but one word of caution there are lots of steps. We are reasonably fit in our 50's and we found it OK but hard work in the heat.

Review 80:Wifi was poor & only available at pool area or near reception. Not enough shelving space in bathroom to place your items. There was a small safe but no key available to lock the safe. The stairs were a killer but that is due to the location.

Review 81:The location of our villa we stayed in was excellent with a view to die for and the staff were very friendly and more then willing to help. The breakfast was excellent and the pool was great. The location of the hotel was very convenient to getting around.

Review 82:Stairs, stairs, & more stairs! Bathroom dark, dingy, & in need of updating. wifi never worked in our room, & only worked occasionally in public areas

Review 83:gorgeous views from our balcony, beautiful jacuzzi area, great breakfasts, lovely staff, especially restaurant staff

Review 84:The perfect setting, the perfect room and the perfect wedding. Above all though, the helpfulness and friendliness of all the staff and owner/manager.

Review 85:The stairs

Review 86:The staff were fantastic

Review 87:Wonderful staff, delicious breakfast, location, cleanliness. It was wonderful to wake up and have the view of the ocean.

Review 88:Very friendly staff. Great views. Near to Thira Center

Review 89:Dana has superb facilities in a terrific location. But what stands out is the uniformly positive character of its staff.

Review 90:The caldera view for sure. It was breathtaking.

Review 91:Can't remember.

Review 92:Over all ambience.

Review 93:Amazing الڤيلا خيال

Review 94:Breakfast location is too far but I think it's great and worth it.

Review 95:View is amazing., you don't have to go to Oia to get a great sunset

Review 96:Beautiful views. Breakfast buffet was great. Staff was super helpful.

Review 97:Copped a bit of a hard sell to go on some boat tours.

Review 98:Nice views

Review 99:The view from the hotel is amazing!

Review 100:Steps migh be problem for older people.

Review 101:beautiful view from our room, staff, hospitality..

Review 102:Lots of steps, but that's santorini

Review 103:Friendly staff, best position on the island

Review 104:Best location, best view and best staff... Perfect place to stay in

Review 105:Nothing not to like. It's an amazing place.

Review 106:Amazing view.

Review 107:The stairs, 176 to the room and 200+ to the pool, but the view is worth every single step!

Review 108:The people! Staff was great!

Review 109:The location, the room, the view, the staff

Review 110:Decor dated

Review 111:Location

Review 112:nothing

Review 113:Fantastic location, staff extremely friendly and helpful. Amazing view!!

Review 114:The location of the property .. didnt feel like worth the money i spent to stay here ..

Review 115:The views

Review 116:Needs refurbishing.

Review 117:Excellent location and views

Review 118:View staff position all fantastic

Review 119:staff was really friendly. great location with amazing view. lots of stairs to climb though

Review 120:The studio is too small.

Review 121:The view - breathtaking

Review 122:Too many stairs

Review 123:Location view

Review 124:Everything was just brilliant. The staff were great. The villas just lovely and the veiws amazing. Also because of the location quite private.

Review 125:Just got a feeling that the reception staff reflected racism (maybe not deliberate) by a certain repetitive comment.

Review 126:Location, view, overall comfort

The Fine Print

Due to the unique geography of Santorini and Dana Villas privileged location on its cliff-side, there are a number of steps leading to the property and its rooms. Porters are on hand to help you with your luggage.
