Reviews for Mitchelcroft

Review 1:The genuine welcoming warmth of the Owners along with the overall ambience of Mitchelcroft lead to a most comfortable and relaxed stay. All the facilities are first class, and the attention to every detail, to include a printed version of the day's weather forecast, a chalk notice board reciting local events taking place over the next few days, the availability of the husband of the Proprietor to assist with cycling or walking "trips" all combine to ensure a Visitor's happy stay.

Review 2:I cannot imagine anyone would find anything at all to complain about. My husband and I thought that the price which we paid was too cheap for the standard of accommodation and the work which the couple put in.

Review 3:Absolutely everything. This is the most welcoming accommodation which you will find. Arriving on a cold, dark evening we were given afternoon tea in the lounge by an open fire. The lounge, indeed the whole house, groans with books covering every subject, ...I could have spent a week just browsing! The bedroom is smart, warm and comfortable, with tea facilities and filtered water. I do not think there is anything which Debbie and Mike have not thought of in their quest to make their guests feel welcome. Mike printed out an OS map for us to do a walk. Set in a beautiful part of the edge of the moors, your hosts are themselves keen walkers, and they provide books and information to assist their guests who may be walking in the area. The breakfast was also superb...lots of lovely fresh fruit , plus usual cooked menu. You will not find better...go there...we certainly plan to return to spend more time in the area.

Review 4:Absolutely nothing.

Review 5:Location. Quality of accommodation. Breakfast and suppers. Quality of furnishings and artistic ambience. Garden rooms especially. View from bedrooms. Superb hosts.

Review 11:Our second time around. Debbie and Michael are the most wonderful hosts and really go the extra mile the make you feel at home. You come down immediately when you arrive. It's simply peaceful and nice. Debbie's cooking is great. Make sure to order a platter or soup in the evening. We'll be back for sure. It's a great place to stay.

Review 12:My second visit this year and I just love this wonderful B&B. Debbie and Michael are so welcoming, it's spotlessly clean, comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast and the amazing views - it is a hidden gem.

Review 13:Very friendly and helpful hostess, wonderful breakfast and beautiful room. The bathroom was top class with a great shower and lovely toiletries. Delicious tea and cake served each day. Just great - go there!

Review 14:Everything. This does live up to it's current rating. The room had all you could want, including cafetiere and real coffee, view from the bed across the flower meadow to the Dartmoor countryside; large walk in shower, heated bathroom floor. Breakfast was very tasty and wonderfully cooked. Hospitality and flexibility e.g. Debbie bringing forward breakfast time so i could go to work on a full stomach!

Review 73:An absolute find, one of the most relaxing, friendly, comfortable and beautiful short breaks we have had. Michael and Debbie's beautiful home is the perfect location for a romantic or active break, lucky we were able to make it both. With so much to see and do in South Devon it does not matter what the weather throws at you, we will most definitely be back to explore more and enjoy Debbie's cakes.

Review 76:Almost reluctant to review Mitchelcroft as we want to go again soon and fear yet another glowing review can only increase its popularity. Debbie and Michael are charming hosts who welcome you to their stunning home with tea and delicious home made cakes. The rooms are beautifully decorated and the views from the balcony idealic. Breakfast in the dining room overlooking the countryside was delicious with the finest of ingredients. Debbie also provided us with a fabulous picnic to take out on our Dartmoor. The only down side was leaving, we hope to stay longer next time.

Review 77:Mitchelcroft is a little piece of heaven ... absolutely removed from the hustle and bustle and so calm and peaceful. We really felt at home and the house is incredible - only matched by the views. We enjoyed a lovely night out at the local pub which is only a short walk away and the breakfast was delicious! Debbie made us feel so welcome and there wasn't anything else that could have made our stay any better! We will most definitely be back!

Review 86:Set in a peaceful location with a beautiful view from our room. Lovely ensuite bathroom and comfortable beds. Our hosts were happy to take the time to chat, suggest local things to see and do, as well as help us plan our ongoing travel routes. And the breakfasts are superb.

Review 87:nothing really!

Review 88:The area was beautiful and we loved the house. There is a litlle living room with a fire place for all of the guest and because we were the only guests at that moment we had the living room all for ourselves. The beds were very good and the staff was friendly. The view from the chambers we had was amazing. We really loved it! The breakfast was also very good and nearby there is a nice inn (the food was lovely!).

Review 89:The whole house was designed to an amazingly high standard. Everything was so chique and I fell in love with Mitchelcroft. Debbie couldn't do enough for us on our arrival! The views are absolutely breath taking and we would definitely recommend.

Review 90:Everything including the Hosts. They went out of their way for us. Such a beautiful place, well appointed and our room was more like a suit than a room.

Review 91:Views from room were sensational. Hosts were charming and attentive. Decor was tasteful. Breakfast was fantastic. Whole experience was first class.

Review 92:We had a fabulous overnight stay, received a lovely warm welcome from Debbie & Mike, enjoyed complimentary tea and cake when we arrived. The room was really beautiful, quite luxurious, breakfast very nice and really appreciated the fresh pineapple, blueberries & strawberries. All credit to this couple for their attention to detail even when we returned from the local pub (great food & beer) they had lit lanterns all along the decking to our room. Shame we didn't manage to sit out in the garden as the weather was pretty awful, but we hope to return one day.

Review 93:Mitchelcroft is one of the best - if not 'the best' B&B we have ever stayed in. From the minute we arrived, to the minute we left, we were made to feel extremely welcome. It was perfect!

Review 94:What a wonderful B&B experience, perfect in every way. A big thank you to Debbie & Michael for making us feel so welcome. Already planning our return!

Review 95:Absolutely everything! Debbie was the perfect host from the first second. She assisted us with all the help we needed and answered all of our questions. We had the Pond Room which was just perfect! A huge room with the most gorgeous bathroom I've ever seen and a shower big enough to fit 5 people in. Our own terrace and pond as well as garden area were pure bliss. It was by far the best B&B we stayed in during our 2-week England trip. Highly recommended!

Review 96:Having to go home!

Review 97:Fantastic, beautiful room, wonderful attentive owners, lovely breakfast, great quiet location. Would recommend and would love to visit again!

Review 98:A marvellous welcome - with tea and cake Room was well decorated and bathroom sumptuous. Breakfast was delicious and nothing was too much trouble - it was relaxed and unhurried countryside spectacular Probably one of the best places we have ever stayed.

Review 99:Absolutely nothing to dislike or find fault with

Review 100:Stunning location- an absolute haven. We had the pond room which was very roomy and luxurious with king sized bed and fantastic en-suite bathroom with large walk in shower. Lots of beautiful wood work everywhere with great attention to detail. We had our own decking and verandah with a gorgeous wildlife pond and private piece of garden which had been carefully tended to create a meadow effect. We were made to feel very welcome and provided with tea and cake on arrival. The breakfast room has the most stunning views and breakfast was the best we have ever had with huge selection and choices. The whole ambiance of the place makes this a real haven. We highly recommend and will definitely look for opportunities to re-visit.

Review 101:Everything! From the moment Debbie met us at the gate until the moment Debbie and Mike waved us off at the gate, we felt like house guests, not residents. We loved the room, the views, the breakfast, the morning sitting on the deck, the evening sitting in the garden by candle light. Just perfect!

Review 102:The warm welcome and the friendly and helpful hosts. The stunning view from the breakfast room and the excellent, delicious breakfast. Highly recommended!
