Reviews for Imperial Hotel

Review 1:No mirror near a socket and even though I drank the tea in the room it was always replaced by coffee so had to bother desk staff for tea bags

Review 2:All of it

Review 3:Room lighting was subdued and room cleaning, whilst adequate, could have been better.

Review 4:Hotel convenient for rail station, Tivoli Gardens and main shopping district. Standard rooms were of a reasonable size - better than some previous reviews had suggested. Reception staff helpful and naturally all spoke excellent English. A faulty toilet flush was quickly fixed.

Review 5:The bed was too soft, and caused some pain in the back. Also, every movement one did during the night caused the whole bed to shake. Another pain point was the room temperature - the heating in the air conditioning didn't work (just cold air), so we had to find a balance between the air conditioning and the radiator in the wall (too hot).

Review 6:Location is excellent, few minutes walking from main train station, and easy access to public transportation. Hotel is also very clean and quiet. We had a good stay, despite the pain points. No comments on breakfast, as we didn't order it.

Review 7:Serious lack of noise insulation. Neither myself nor my partner slept at all during our stay.

Review 8:Location, generally nice helpful staff, cleanliness and comfortable room

Review 9:Hotel very expensive.

Review 10:Stuff was very helpful. Location was quite central, one minute from Tivoli. There is a good italian restaurant inside the hotel, which is convenient when travelling with a young kid.

Review 11:Drain in bathroom did not work. So when we used the shower/bath, the floor was flooded. They told us it was just like that, and gave us lots of towels to soak it up. Mini fridge did not work, only the light inside it. That was also "normal"...why have it then?

Review 12:Location is perfect for a weekend break. Central, but not too noisy. Staff was great, very friendly and service minded. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 13:I reserved a triple room expecting a room with three beds; apparently this hotel does not have triple rooms but bring in a fold up bed. This was not clear in the reservation and descriptions and not acceptable. However, the hotel did work to remedy the situation.

Review 14:There is no mirror in the bedroom. You cannot check in until 3pm.

Review 15:Good location near Vestebro area which is nice for cafes and restaurants. Staff very nice and helpful. A nice big hotel with good facilities.

Review 16:Staff informed me that they cannot give me an invoice since i used the booking.com. Also they charged me 75 $ after i left the hotel and i dont know the reason why. I definitely not recommend this hotel if you want to not ripped off.

Review 17:Great location. Close to everything. 7 min walk to the main train station, so you don't need a cab to get there from the airport. The subway across the street as well as bicycle renting place. The hotel was clean, nice, and cozy. I read that rooms are usually small in general in Copenhagen, but it was good enough. It is a good price/quality ratio. If there is a deal you shoul definitely choose this one.

Review 18:Two single duvets for a double bedroom. The curtain was blocking the radiator, so when we came back the room was a bit cold

Review 19:Breakfast was fine, not a lot of stuff, but the staff made sure to provide a gluten-free option for a coeliac guest. Position is fantastic, close to the city center, the tube station and the train one (to reach the airport). Cleaning staff seemed very good.

Review 20:It's a very old hotel, needs to be refurbished. If you select a double room, you get two single beds stuck together which keep rolling away and apart.

Review 21:The location was good.

Review 22:Some facilitied were broken in the bathroom and coffee& tea set was not set peroperly.

Review 23:The hotel is located in the city centre. We were offered up-graded room for three persons. It was very confortable.

Review 24:it has something to do with the transfer service arranged by the hotel. The driver who took us to the port had a hard time finding the port C- Quay as per instruction from the tour company, insisting to me that it doesn't exist, until I have suggested to look for another port there where we finally found it. That happened on Aug. 30.

Review 25:good location

Review 26:I didn't like the bathroom since it's not so clean not as dirt, but as for water drops from the bathroom and noise of the other bathroom above us!!

Review 27:Really expensive but not luxury and new Mosquito in my room! corridors of the hotel were really really long and it was per se a journey. I had to pass a long corridor and also a step with my heavy luggage and it was not comfortable for me at all. The staff were really slow in doing their job. The view of a large number of the hotel's room were just the other building. It also needs re furnishing and renewing The cost of the hotel rooms were too high for the hotel

Review 28:The location was perfect. the metro station was in front of the hotel and central train station just in few minutes walking distance. two supermarket very close to the hotel. It was also next to the cinema with the same name and made it very convenient to find

Review 29:Room was very small, so WE changed for a suite, then was OK. You could not have a capuccino in this hotel before 11 h !!!

Review 30:Acces to the train. Nice confortable bed. Nice bathroom.

Review 31:A/c was not working in our room. Had to wait till next day to be fixed. Standard room too small and closet nearly non- existing.

Review 32:Location is excellent smack near Tivoli and start of hop-on hop-off

Review 33:nothing

Review 34:Hotel was convenient and the staff pleasant. I would like to point one young guy by the name of Emil that cared for us as our room phone didn't work and he kept checking with us if everything is ok

Review 35:Room for three persons consists of a king-size bed and, surprisingly, a folding bed. It sounds more like we've been fit into a double room

Review 36:The staff is friendly and the breakfast is awesome

Review 37:Breakfast every day the same. Curtains in te room can't be closed perfectly . Room to small for three beds. Very expensive hotel for the comfort given.

Review 38:Copenhagen is a very beautiful city.

Review 39:Lifts too small/breakfast overpriced-fruit salad bowl too small, 90%apple,bacon burnt offerings, extra 60k for omelette, no gluten freeitems, yoghurt & meats should be placed on ice.had to walk thrusmokers at entryway/no centre light, prisoners have betterlighting.bathroom side glass over bath not long enough so shower watercovered the floor.OUR Security breached when woken at 12.15am by a guestentering our room while we were asleep using the card issued atreception. We were booked into our room for 5 days. We had phone call at12.30am asking why we were in the room and our names as they had arecord of us in a different room. This serious breach of security made uswonder if someone else had entered our room when we were out for theday.Duty manager was not advised of this breach when approached at7.45am.As we were flying on a 12 hour sector our good nights sleep wewanted was denied. We did receive some compensation for their error.A Badexperience for our 1st visit to Copenhagen.

Review 40:Good internet facilities that were free.

Review 41:We asked to replace these 2 armchairs since they were dirty and wear out, but there were none, so they offered us 2 chairs instead, and we agreed. My computer did not communicate with the hotel’s Wi-Fi system; our smart phones did, but not all of the time. When I asked for help they said it’s my computer’s problem and that was the end of their support, (I did check my computer later in other place’s Wi-Fi and it worked just fine…).

Review 42:I selected this hotel mainly due to its location and reasonable price. The location is really OK, but the minute I walked in it felt a bit shabby. I booked the superior room it was clean, quiet (double glazing windows), with modern décor and good size. It has a safe, complementary coffee, a flat HD TV, an empty minibar, a working table, a small round table and 2 armchairs. The bed was OK but a bit to soft and “bouncy” for our taste Breakfast was OK, with fairly wide selection. The Italian restaurant in the hotel served us a good Artichoke soup, but they were extremely slow. The service at the reception was efficient but not friendly.

Review 43:The elevators are extremely small, can only fit 2 people with luggage. The shower did not have a curtain causing the floor to get soaked.

Review 44:The room was decent sized for 4 of us. The location of the hotel was within easy walking distance to most of the sites. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 45:The hotel is so welcoming, the beds are wonderfully comfortable and the breakfasts are delicious. Staff always friendly and helpful. Very calming atmosphere.

Review 46:WI FI, one I-Phone was OK, our second I-Phone would not connect !

Review 47:One minute walk to S Tog Station. Very busy street traffic but didn't hear any noise.

Review 48:Room air conditioning didn't work; luckily the windows opened to fresh air and cool. The breakfast, good overall, offered a disappointing version of scrambled eggs.

Review 49:The room was fresh, clean, and very comfortable. Recently renovated. Very friendly staff.

Review 50:the elevators are very small and barely hold 2 people with luggage.

Review 51:We liked the location...convenient to the On and Off bus and near a great walking area

Review 52:The room was a bit old (old doors, bath, lamps and tables). The hotel itself is quite old (20, 30 years?). Could be better for money you pay.

Review 53:Location is good (center, train and metro station)

Review 54:Overall ambience was excellent. The italian restaurant was good. The staff at the reception and the concierge were vere extremely helpful. I found the elevators tiny and not sure if anything can be done now. Also, it was difficult to get through room service post 8pm.

Review 55:Although our booking.com reservation didn't include breakfast, we were told at check that breakfast was included, then of course we had 5 breakfasts charged (for 2 people) on checkout. Front desk was able to apply flexibility but if we knew, we would have made plans to enjoy other lovely Copenhagen breakfast spots. Lots of people comment on the small elevators - they are but its not a deal breaker.

Review 56:Hotel is very well located, rooms clean. Decent breakfast selection, though can get quite busy.

Review 57:Elevator too small in size to accommodate the needs of the hotel guests.

Review 58:Location was good for what we planned. Near the central station so getting around to various places was easy. Comfortable bed and quality linens.

Review 59:Bathroom bath Taps and shower configuration needed some instructions.

Review 60:We could open the window for fresh air after all that air conditioning everywhere else Beds very comfortable and staff friendly

Review 61:After recent stays in Hamburg, Dresden and Berlin we found the price in this hotel out of line, but had been warned that Copenhagen is very expensive.

Review 62:easy walk to attractions

Review 63:The lifts were inadequate, too small, took along time to respond, felt a bit trapped. Smoking area at front not kept clean. Could have been more variety at breakfast. A bit pricey for what you got.

Review 64:Good position, our room was good, staff very helpful.

Review 65:The room was very small. The elevatorsalary are very small and slow. The bathroom floor drain caused an unpleasant odor in the room.

Review 66:Close proximity to all the wonderful sites in Copenhagen.

Review 67:Staff were rude and unhelpful to us the moment we set foot in to the hotel until we left for no reason. The elevators were tiny and impossible to use in busy times.

Review 68:Rooms are big and clean

Review 69:They clean (if they do) cups and glasses in the room (possibly with used towels) ... do not bring (that I saw) or exchange used glasses ones with fresh clean ones. Don't like twin beds or the narrow sheet used on them. Difficult to sleep under the small narrow sheet.

Review 70:Clean bathroom

Review 71:Some staff members were not polite enough. 3-days stay and they did not change the towels not once. One window blinds where stuck

Review 72:Good location. Decent breakfast.

Review 73:If they ask what do you prefer: Room with a view or quiet room, as for the view. The quiet rooms are looking to the hotel's parking lot.

Review 74:Perfect location, everything is within a 10 minutes walking distance. You can rent a bike with the hotel.

Review 75:Beds were foam over inter-spring, so quite bouncy ... but were quiet. Agents tended to be new employees.

Review 76:Central to the city and most Copenhagen locations and sites, had rental bikes, and clean and safe

Review 77:Bathroom very small and raised floor .. Husband stubbed toe at least twice on it. Need new plumbing in sink and shower

Review 78:Central location, friendly staff, great breakfast buffet

Review 79:The hotel was old and overpriced, not what we would expect from a 4 star hotel in Northern Europe. The hotel restaurant food was also below par. We stuck in the elevator, but at least they could get us out in a few minutes.

Review 80:Location is good, close to the train station.

Review 81:Staff did not clean the room, and did not change the covers. The toilet door does not close - need to use public toilet Elevator does not work Key to room did not work.

Review 82:Location is great

Review 83:Within walking distance to all major attractions!! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good with several selections. The room was very clean and comfortable.

Review 84:the room is quite small and a bit old. Anyway, if we need a place for just sleeping, it can compensate with the good location.

Review 85:it's opposite to the vesterport station, which is one stop from the central station (around 10 mins walk). It's a convenient walk to the famous shopping street. There're a convenient store, bakery, restuarants in the area.

Review 86:- Not very clean rooms - Dirty pillows in the room (happened to see under the cover of the pillow with full of disgusting stains) - we had booked for a room with 4 single beds, they have put us in a room with one double bed and one sofabed.

Review 87:Location

Review 88:Bathroom floor would get all wet because of the shower. Hotel was very busy in one of the days and the breakfast was caotic (there was room for everybody and the staff was constantly replacing food but the place just did not seem big enough for so many people)!

Review 89:The location was good...walking distance from train station and city center! The room was rather spacious and clean. Breakfast options were good and tasty

Review 90:Hotels in Copenhagen are overpriced. This one is exception. Room and hallways are tired, not tired as is falling apart, but one would expect more from 4* hotel downtown Denmark.

Review 91:Superb location next to central station, friendly staff. We had a quiet room facing away from main street, so we could window lid opened at night, otherwise it might get a bit stuffy.

Review 92:Our room was particularly small despite there being a large price tag attached. The breakfast was average, cooked food was too greasy and continental choice limited. There were no hotel facilities and no residence bar. The adjoining restaurant staff were unfriendly when requesting a drink (limited selection of Italian wine only). We actually complained to reception as we were not being served. Additional charges have also been applied to my card without notification or explanation. I would not recommend this hotel.

Review 93:The location of the hotel is ideal for a city break as it is very central.

Review 94:Credit card scam on checking in! take 500dkr for extras or incidentals, which I had none of and then take 14 DAYS!!!!! To pay it back in to my account absolutely disgusted with this!!!

Review 95:central location for everything

Review 96:Breakfast area too crammed. Too few, small and slow lifts.

Review 97:Good location; fine old style. Super service by reception Friday morning (by middle aged dark haired foreign lady)

Review 98:The breakfast room was a little cramped and felt a little like a canteen. Had to share a table with others every morning (3). However the food was good.

Review 99:Comfortable room. Check in staff really helpful. Very close to the main train station.

Review 100:Extremely small room Bad quality of breakfast/poor buffet Extremely expensive for the level of services provided Should be ranked as a 3 star hotel

Review 101:Hotel WiFi was poor and used to crash often. Luckily, other nearbyconnections were available.CAUTION: I was fined 1000 DKK for smoking in the room. No prior warnings...

Review 102:Nice hotel at great location.

Review 103:Two single duvets on a double bed! Cushions rather than pillows.

Review 104:The staff were brilliant, very friendly, very helpful and better English than mine. Great free WiFi all over the hotel with good speed. Decent breakfast

Review 105:Drain in sink did not work, warm/ hot water took a very long time to heat and only luke warm in the shower. Cramped room.

Review 106:Bathroom was very nice with heated floors.

Review 107:Pillow is very low. I requested a medium / firm pillow but they just give me another pillow which is very soft.

Review 108:Location is great. Right next to Central Train station. And 5 mins walk away from Tivoli. 8 mins from city hall and shopping area.

Review 109:A bad odour noticeable in the bathroom.

Review 110:Proximity to Tivoli, train station and city centre. Cleanliness of the hotel & rooms Good friendly service by staff

Review 111:Nothing negative to say.

Review 112:We liked the location, facilities, friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Excellent breakfast set us up for the day. The on site Italian Restaurant was an added bonus. It provided excellent room service. Ease of access to the airport made this the perfect choice for us. The hotel is also very quiet at night.

Review 113:Slightly noisy in 'outside' bedrooms with vehicle movement. The lift needs practice to operate!!

Review 114:The friendliness of staff who were only too pleased to help and to spend time getting to know their clients. Hotel convenient for rail station (from airport) and Metro. Handy for Tivoli and shopping!

Review 115:Really can't think of anything - they even created overflow rooms for breakfast when the restaurant became very busy at breakfast time. Really enjoyed our stay.

Review 116:Easy location to find - close to central train station, good rooms with nice view from high floors, good buffet breakfast and good location for walking distance to the city centre. Staff friendly and very helpful with provision of information and maps etc.

Review 117:I found the wifi weak and not always dependable.

Review 118:This hotel is directly across from the Vesterport station and within easy walking distance of central station. The breakfast buffet every morning was great with a large selection of cold and hot items. My room was small but cozy.

Review 119:Poor facilities - : We had to use the stairs as the lifts were small, busy and slow. The staff did not replenish tea and coffee. We booked a superior room, it was really small, no mirrors in the room resulting in my husband having to wait until I had showered, dried my hair and put make-up on before he got to shower. This would normally suit my husband but the remote control didn't work unless you went right in front of tv.

Review 120:Good location, right in centre. Great breakfast

Review 121:Bed much too soft (like being on a boat), took mattress and slept on floor Breakfast poor. Not much choice. Too many pastries. Really bad fruit salad. Lighting in general very bad (unable to read newspaper at breakfast)

Review 122:Staff very helpful indeed. Business centre good.

Review 123:wireless very poor beds are too soft no elctricity plug near bed so while charging the phone you should stand everytime

Review 124:ok for price location is perfect clean

Review 125:My room was 550 it's the most farst room in the hotel. If u have a family and ur room number is above 40, don't take it. The elevators was small. So if u have big bags u might need to take in two times. The bed is too soft. The window can open wide. So if u have children, make sure not to open the window. No gym.

Review 126:The staff were really good. The check in is at 3 pm, I came at 12 pm and they check me in. Wi_fi was really good. I manage to talk with my family in skype. Small advice tip the staff, to get better service.

Review 127:Variety of breakfast food was poor in restaurant. Food area was small and restrictive when the restaurant was busy. Lifts very small and too slow. Paint was flaking off around all my bedroom windows.

Review 128:Very helpful staff. Good wi-fi signal. L'Appettito restaurant. Location. Business lounge.

Review 129:Noise from the street, whilst appreciate we were in the city, music at 4am on a Sunday morning unacceptable. Beware of extremely rude waiters in the Italian restaurant!

Review 130:The room was very comfortable and clean. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Location good for city visit. Recommend for 1 or 2 nights stay only.

Review 131:The location is near the central train station where you would arrive from the airport, even nearer to the train station where you would depart to the cruise terminal and just 2 mins away from Tivoli Gardens.

Review 132:Breakfast was not great and breakfast room was too bright and noisy We only had one mirror in the room which was in the bathroom.

Review 133:Very nice premises in general. The rooms had modern interior and comfortable beds.

Review 134:Restaurant had high quality food at reasonable prices. WIFI was fast and stable day and night. Location was central and easy to get to from the airport and traveling within CPH. A/C worked very well. Clean rooms and VERY comfortable bed of a decent size!

Review 135:The breakfast is average and the room lacks atmosphere The TV reception in the room can some time break.

Review 136:Great restaurant and bar. Comfortable rooms Great location

Review 137:The Wifi is temperamental. If you stay on the higher floors it appears to be more reliable than the lower floors. The single rooms are a little cramped, but still a very comfortable stay.

Review 138:The Location is wonderful and the staff are very helpful. I stay here every time I visit Copenhagen and I am never disappointed in my stay at the Imperial. For any length of Stay I highly recommend it.

Review 139:Lack of international newspapers and swimming pool. Hotel as a whole needs an upgrade to make it into a real modern hotel.

Review 140:Breakfasts were relaxed and very good value.
