Reviews for Westfield Lodge

Review 1:We went to bed early as we had to be up at 3.30am to leave fort he airport at 4.30am so sleep was never going to be easy. Obviously there was aircraft noise which is unavoidable. Also there was the occasional scrunch of minibus tyres outside as people were picked up and dropped off during the night (to tarmac the area to reduce this would be a big investment though). There was much less noise from people going to their rooms than we expected. The only issue we had was that the wind caused the flap on the outside of the bathroom extractor fan to rattle relentlessly and perhaps this could be rectified quite easily.

Review 2:Very good price considering the location. Onsite parking gave a further saving against the airport silver zone parking. Transfer to the airport was very punctual and efficient. Although we didn't use it, it was good to see that there was a kitchen area to prepare food if required.

Review 3:Place was excellent only complaint beyond their control was a people arriving very late and a bit noisy.

Review 4:Very close to the airport and the car parking is very efficient .

Review 5:Very comfortable, big room with a nice bathroom. Staff really helpful, drove me from the airport at night and back in the morning, just as I asked. Oh, and there was a kitchen for guests;)

Review 6:The lodge was up a track on a farm and no food offered at all, so you had to bring everything you needed, except tea and coffee, particularly if you had no transport. Accommodation was very basic for the price - no tooth mug in the bathroom and the plug didn't seal in the washbasin.

Review 7:Staff were prompt to collect and drop off at Bristol airport (free/included shuttle) and generally helpful. Building was well insulated, if still somewhat noisy from aircraft.

Review 8:Staff were very rude on arrival, telling me my car park charge was not what I was quoted online and I should not have been contacting head office for prices!I should have called them direct, but I booked online was very close to leaving, older guy was the worst one kept calling me madam in a abrupt tone.

Review 9:Room was clean and bed was comfy

Review 10:Missed my early morning flight so I booked in thru Booking.com. I phoned the Lodge to request early check-in, and within 30 minutes they called me back, pick us up and delivered us to our room. (By 0930). Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful.

Review 11:Signage to and at property could be more explicit on the website. Noise from inconsiderate overnight departing guests. A wall mounted shower instead of an overhead one would be preferable.

Review 12:Close to aiport and parking. Cleanliness.

Review 13:The reception arrangements were rather odd. We would have preferred to go straight to the place. rather than via a cold industrial unit.

Review 14:Closeness to the airport.

Review 15:Transport staff a little brusque.

Review 16:Such a surprise. Great place. Such a clean and well equipped facility. Even a kitchen to make your own suppers or breakfasts if needed.

Review 17:Picked this location as we had an early flight and didn't want a really early start. However we were in room 6 and were woken twice in the nigh by later arrivals who collected keys from the utility room next to us, could also here the washing/drying machines going. Then the people in the room above us got up at 3am and there is no sound insulation so we were kept awake for an hour as they got ready and never got back to sleep - not good!

Review 18:Ideal for the airport - drop off and pick up service excellent

Review 19:We were not informed when we booked with 'booking.com' that there was a free shuttle bus and it cost us £10.30 for a taxi (Arrow Cabs) to travel half a mile. The man who was there on our arrival at the lodge was just finishing his shift and couldn't wait to get away. Sack him

Review 20:convenient to the airport

Review 21:No sound-proofing in the building - we could hear people speaking and moving (creaky floorboards) in all the rooms. Wifi did not work for the first night (it was working in the morning). Very noisy from the airport - due to there being no sound proofing at all (I stay at a lot of airport hotels and this was exceptionally bad). Extractor fan was making squeaky noises constantly until my partner repaired it. We had to wait 30 min to get checked in because only one staff member was dealing with the car parking, the lodge and the airport transfers. Basically, we didn't like any of it and would not stay here again.

Review 22:The location was convenient for the airport.

Review 23:Fantastic services. Transfer to/from airport very smooth and prompt. Highly recommended. Parking there is much cheaper than the airport's car park rip-off rate.

Review 24:small double bed instead of the twin beds requested, hotel denied I had, but it was clear on the Booking.com form. No signs to check in, (in a garage separate from hostel). Freezing cold room and fobbed off for some hours till they decided heating needed repairing - it wasn't repaired that night - and finally at 10pm a small electric heater brought round which I had asked for at 6pm. I left at 4am by car and though shuttle was booked for at 10 am my friend was woken at 4.30 for a shuttle. I had asked for check out at 11 am but no it had to be 10 am. Damp cold bed; the worst night I ever had in a hotel.

Review 25:It was very near the airport and there were shuttles.

Review 26:Easy enough to find. Friendly greeting. Distance to the airport was great. Although we didn't use the parking and transfer facility this time it is a good price and something we will be considering in the future.

Review 27:There isn't a proper reception - check in is done in a garage.

Review 28:Close to the airport and transfer included. Willingness to help and accommodate guests' needs in terms of transfers to the airport.

Review 29:The staff were very mixed, upon arrival we had to go inside a very daunting barn shed, and was treated like we wasn't there for 5 minutes as staff looked and talked about stuff on their PC screen, not even a hello ot welcome was conceded, just a look to say 'yes what do you want' by an old looking man.

Review 30:The location was really useful being next to the airport and there was a kettle in the room which was very handy, bed was ok nothing special.

Review 31:Very Difficult to find as I drove passed the entrance twice better sign needed. Would suggest that they mention old jet aircraft next to the road

Review 32:Once I found the place found it very convenient for my needs. Very close to the leisure activity I need to attend on Sunday.

Review 33:Bit difficult to find (could benefit from a sign on the main road) - unfortunately I had a room downstairs by the entrance which meant I heard the comings and goings of people with cases/going in and out to smoke/sitting in the kitchen etc throughout the night. Would make sure I had an upstairs room if I had another stay.

Review 34:Very close to Bristol airport - for early morning flight ideal. Everything you needed for clean and comfortable (albeit a bit basic) nights stay before a flight. Friendly and helpful staff.

Review 35:The towels were damp and the shower room/toilet door was hard to close as toilet was in the way.

Review 36:Near the airport and great to have lifts from and to airport on request.

Review 37:Unfortunately a very bad drain smell from the ensuite. Managed ok as we kept the door closed. But needs to be addressed

Review 38:Accomodation was basic but all clean and tidy

Review 39:I carnt fault anything.

Review 40:Room was very clean, bed extremely comfortable. Really good shower, nice clean towels. we had the park and stay package which a mini bus took and collected us in 10 minutes no fuss. All together excellent experience.

Review 41:Asked about somewhere local to eat that evening and responses a bit vague

Review 42:Good location, clean and with tea making facilities. Perfect for a one night stay before an early morning flight.

Review 43:The people above usmust have had n earlier flight so we were woken at 3am by the sound of them walking about & showering.

Review 44:Friendly efficient staff with free 24hr transfer to Airport which is 5 mins away.very clean comfortable room.

Review 45:Hard to find, specialy since the postcode is not accurate. Noisy due to the other guests.

Review 46:very friendly staff, we appreciated the informations given regarding the petrol station and pub.

Review 47:In the middle of nowhere. No cafés or pubs nearby to buy some breakfast. Luckily the driver took us to a garage about 10 minutes away to get something to eat.

Review 48:Really close to the airport. Driver already there waiting. Room modern and really comfortable. Good shower. Communal kitchen if you're staying a bit longer.

Review 49:Initially, it took me a little bit to understand which car park I had to go to at Bristol Airport to get picked up by the van that took me to the lodge, so I walked around for a while. Then, I was given more precise directions and found the correct car park, so all was fine! I could hear the TVs from other guests' rooms.

Review 50:The best thing was that I arrived at Bristol airport by bus and they came to get me shortly after I got there. Then, later that evening, they took me to a pub nearby to have dinner, then they came to get me and at 4:30 am (the next morning) they took me to the airport to catch my flight! And there was no additional cost for all those trips. You can hear the planes, but not the kind of noise that would keep someone awake. Luckily around 10 or 1030 all the other guests turned off their TVs!

Review 51:Shuttlebus service was great and staff were friendly. The room was comfortable and very clean, the lodge is close to the airport. A perfect one night stopover.

Review 52:The location (by the airport with parking round it) is why we chose the site. - so that's no reason to complain. Excited younger folks in other rooms might be a problem if you are struggling to get to sleep. But my snoring might have been a problem for them.

Review 53:Friendly folk, happy to help with an unusual request.. (somewhere to practice the trumpet without disturbing other guests). Set-up just right for Bristol airport.

Review 54:There were no facilities for eating at all. The bathroom was a wet room and it was impossible to get dry after a shower. The water from the shower was only warm not hot and there was a drain smell on the afternoon

Review 55:Its proximity to the airport

Review 56:room so noisy with all night comings and goings with people pick up van on gravel outside; very noisy arrivers and leavers outside the window. Lights form van shone in windows all night long. No sleep!

Review 57:clean room with comfortable bed.

Review 58:the hotel provided a lovely pick up and drop off service from the airport. They were friendly and what's even more when one of us left a phone charger behind and they couldn't find it, they bought a new one and mailed it to him- Something no other hotel has done!! Lovely!

Review 59:Not necessarily Westfield Lodge problem, but we were in room 6, right by the entrance door and late arrivals and early departures were very noisy - perhaps staff could really emphasize the need to be more considerate to other guests.

Review 60:Great staff, very friendly. Quick pick up,from airport - 2 minute drive - Room clean with tea making facilities.

Review 61:Not really fair to say this is a negative because it didn't bother me, but the facility isn't a traditional hotel. As long as you aren't bothered by this, you should be fine.

Review 62:The staff are friendly and they work hard to to serve promptly. The room was clean and surprisingly quiet that close to the airport. Great value for the cost and quick, friendly service to and from the airport. That's exactly what I needed and received!

Review 63:there was nothing we didn't like.

Review 64:the young man who collected us from the airport was very helpful and punctual. The room was exceptionally clean and was comfortable. A happy start to our holiday.

Review 65:Curtains were terrible - almost might as well not be there, flights overhead from 5:30- luckily we had a fairly early flight, communal fridge smelt terribly, massive spider in the bathroom when we arrived.

Review 66:Close to the airport

Review 67:The attitude of the person in charge. First words to us were quite brusque & we almost turned to leave!!

Review 68:In a rather "surprising " location. You may think you're arriving at a car pound!! It is what it is. A place to put your head ready for an early flight!! No frills at all, but clean.

Review 69:The signe at the bottom or the drive could be clearer. If you see an old aircraft in the field your there! Booked the bus for 5am but it was a good 10 minutes late, was cutting it fine anyway so best add a bit extra when asked for your pick up.

Review 70:Really is two minutes from the airport from the lodge. Basic room but covers all you need really well. Warm with fast wifi, friendly local staff and not much aircraft noise. For an evening meal there is a pub you can walk to or take sandwich as I didn't see anything on sight.

Review 71:They were very friendly and offered to pick us up to take us there. It is incredibly close to the airport literally about a 5 min walk to the enterance and as the airport is quite small it only takes about 10 mins max to walk down. The bathroom is a wet room, which we loved! The bed was so comfy!! We slept very well, as its close to the airport, you do gets lots of planes, but as long as you shut your windows it's fine, we forgot to shut all ours and still slept amazingly. We left really early, we were given a lift to the airport, so we didn't have breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff, when we fly from Bristol next we will stay here if it's an early flight!

Review 72:Beds were comfortable and kitchen facilities were great, but we had a very poor nights sleep as the building is very noisy and walls very thin! The receptionist was not very welcoming and we found the entrance very confusing?

Review 73:Reception not clearly marked very confusing on arrival.

Review 74:Extremely close to airport with excellent shuttle service back & fore airport. Super clean & comfortable. Staff very helpful.

Review 75:Only place to get some food was a pub along the lane but the road was very dangerous to walk along. Best to ask for transfer back and forth. New build accommodation was clean and well designed but the walls were very thin and you could hear everything,, people taking a shower, conversations in the rooms, snoring and others having sex. With all the comings and goings, I did not get much sleep before my flight.

Review 76:Very close to airport for flight. Nice bath/shower facilities

Review 77:Quiet, comfortable and relaxing. We were recommended local tavern for evening meal which was excellent. Great start to holiday. We will definitely use Westfield again.

Review 78:Service, cleanliness, location.

Review 79:Staff pick up at airport was friendly , professional . Explained everything nicely , I felt safe as a lady travelling alone. Mobile cont number for 24 hour help if needed.

Review 80:Room very clean but sparse. A desk/dressing table would have made all the difference. The likes of Travelodge just put in a simple work surface; Simples! Bed OK but just two rather skinny pillows, just sufficient for one person but not if they needed to be shared. Room became too hot but probably just my failure to work out the heating, the windows all opened. Nothing to do with the Lodge, but the closest place to eat is the George and Dragon. Don't. Buy a microwave meal and use the Lodge's kitchen. Or drive into the Airport and use their facilities.

Review 81:Good shower room, parking, obviously purpose built, efficient lady in charge. Warm room (but see next) clean and functional. Plenty of tea/coffee. Toiletries on tap instead of in stupid little bottles. Soft close loo! No excuse these days not to have one. Brownie points! Very good for the Airport, shuttle bus and long term parking, but otherwise remote. The old Jet Provost besides the entrance was a bit of a shock late at night with no lighting!

Review 82:we had to stand in the cold for a long time when we were told they would be only be 5 minutes.the driver(in shorts)said he had already been to the pick up and must have missed us -a pack of lies-he was rude and took us for idiots

Review 83:we will not use these people again and will not recommend them to anyone else

Review 84:Dishwasher was full of dirty crockery/cutlery so had to wash it before we could use it & there was no tea towel.

Review 85:Close to airport, shuttle service worked well, we were dropped at the pub & picked up again for evening meal. Would have brought food to cook if I'd known there was a cooker.

Review 86:Nothing around there. Take everything you need with you. Microwave available in downstairs kitchen.

Review 87:Very convenient, practical and efficient. 5 mins from airport and totally geared to airport travellers. Quick transfers, car storage. Clean, quiet, TV, wifi.

Review 88:Poor signing made night time arrival difficult.

Review 89:Closeness to Bristol Airport makes this excellent accommodation forovernight stop before and after flight.

Review 90:There is nothing really to complain about. Travellers should be aware this is a newly built lodge next to a car park to accomodate a quick night stay near the airport.

Review 91:The staff were more than accomodating. We did not have a car since we thought we could walk to the airport and they drove us to the airport in the morning and even to a local pub for dinner the night before we left.

Review 92:Surprising surroundings Quite noisy as people go back an forth to the airport at night

Review 93:Free lift to the airport at any time Clean Very convinient for a late or early flight

Review 94:The room access was through a narrow stair, no lift: it was a big problem to bring luggage. Very noisy during the night due to thin walls. Light enters from below the door when someone turn it on in the corridor during the night.

Review 95:Cleaness

Review 96:Remote location, I didn't feel very safe travelling alone. Noise from aircraft was very disruptive Room was tiny and drafty Noise levels as other guests arriving during the night

Review 97:Price included airport pick up and drop off. Prompt and reliable pick up and drop off Clean room and shower

Review 98:DO NOT book now pay later..... don't do it, I reserved the room with my Credit Card but paid in cash on arrival. I received notification that JB Pearce LTD, Bristol, tried to take payment from my credit card after I had checked out. I do not live in the UK so I cannot address this with them direct, I have emailed them but received no response.

Review 99:Nice accommodation

Review 100:A bit off putting when you first arrive at the farm office surroundings but don't let it put you off. Accommodation and staff are great!

Review 101:Everything went like clockwork from the moment I was met at the airport to my early morning pick up to get my flight the next day.

Review 102:The approach road does not do justice to the accommodation, which makes you feel that you are not in the right place. But the warm and friendly reception soon puts you at ease.

Review 103:Close proximity to Airport for early flight and taxi shuttle which turned up on time. The hotel was booked for my wife, who was travelling on her own and she found the hotel friendly and felt very safe.

Review 104:Reception area was very messy and dirty and was more like s garage reception. We were concerned what the room would be like from our first impression.

Review 105:Easy access to airport

Review 106:Expensive considering this is out in the countryside that in a farming area besides the airport. The price reflects equivalent city prices.

Review 107:wonderful lodge, high quality clean rooms, great service.

Review 108:Nobody was there to check-in when I arrived, (turned up after 5-10min) This wouldn't be a problem once you know the system but for the first time is very confusing (arrived around 9:30pm) excellent / quite at night, but planes start taking off at 6:00 from Bristol Airport straight overhead.

Review 109:All facilities were good. Room was OK. Can come and go as you please. Kitchen facilities excellent.

Review 110:I was woke at 3am by other guests leaving for the airport . It's a good hotel if your planning to fly out early but don't stay here if you want a good nights sleep as come 3am it's like the charge of the light brigade

Review 111:Staff were nice and room was clean and comfortable

Review 112:6am planes but then it is an airport lodge! Lol.. Seriously though, we had nothing to complain about.

Review 113:4* well presented accommodation - modern fittings, fab wet room, comfy beds. Communal fully fitted kitchen with dining table gives scope for cooking up a full meal, not just a snack. Even has a dishwasher. Plenty of choice for your self serve breakfast - cereals, bread, brioche, yoghurts, fruit, fruit juice, plus tea, coffee all available 24hrs. DVDs left out for guests to use. If you want a transfer to the airport they take you in a modern shuttle bus, and your car is safe & secure parked on site. Helpful and very accommodating staff - we needed an extra bed and to check in early - all no problem. Convenient location -equidistant from Bristol and Weston-Super-Mare. Definitely recommend.

Review 114:The reception is in a barn/parking lot, you arrive through fields and suddenly are driven into a barn- might not be a pleasant experience unwarned in the middle of the night. Shuttle to and from the airport- there is one shuttle for several properties, if I understood properly, and that means a bit of a wait during rush hours like 11 30 at night. I'd definitely recommend booking the shuttle about 10 mins earlier than you think you'll need it.

Review 115:Clean, neat, comfortable bed and bedding, good bathroom. Kind staff, once you get past the phone calls for shuttle.

Review 116:- the rooms are clean and very nice - the service is perfect, the owner drove us to a nearby pub, collected us and drove us to the aiport the next day

Review 117:We arrived and was greeted by Geoff, who recommended somewhere nice to eat, offered to drop us off and we even managed a lift back when stopped on his way back from a drop off! Excellent place to stay, would definitely recommend and stay again.

Review 118:Signposting could be better.

Review 119:Not so much close to the airport as practically on the runway, but not noisy and so easy to get to the airport in the morning. Very comfortable night and excellent facilities.

Review 120:I always question the price when it's one night without breakfast but it does seem to be the norm. Perhaps a couple of breakfast bars in the room could be suggested.

Review 121:The staff were friendly. The room was a good size and very clean. It had everything you need for a stop over. Plus, it's so close to the airport you can get a lie-in. I'll definitely use it again

Review 122:The only thing I did'nt like was when i arrived at Bristol airport I coul'nt find anyone to pick me up so had to take a taxi which cost £10 to go about a mole.

Review 123:The customer service from beginning to end was excellant .They could not do enough for us .Pick up at airport was quick ,and being an evening flight we were able to get on with our journey home to Cornwall .

Review 124:For anyone with an early flight out of Bristol airport, this is a fantastic place. Comfy rooms, very close to the airport and excellent drop off and pick up service with very friendly and helpful staff. Would highly recommend this to anyone!

Review 125:Nothing

Review 126:Prompt pick up at the airport. Nice clean rooms. A bit weird at the start as you actually arrive at and old farm but once past that it's very nice and the owner is very jolley.

Review 127:Very matter of fact and not hugely friendly staff - however they got the job done perfectly still!

Review 128:Accommodation was great for the family. Time keeping and flexibility of the pick up and drop off at airport was brilliant and fast. Cost was low

Review 129:Rooms far too hot. No breakfast provided but well equipped kitchen/lounge area if you want to prepare your own meals.

Review 130:Closeness to airport. Free and regular transfers. Clean rooms. Free transfers to and from local pub/restaurant.

Review 131:The price is a bit steep for one night 55 pounds.

Review 132:It was near airport very clean wirh great pub dwn the road the fox and goose. The lady was very friendly and helpful

Review 133:The phone cut off several times while trying to call for my pick up.

Review 134:Polite, helpful efficient drivers. Excellent location to Airport. Practical room and bathroom with all needs met.

Review 135:The room was a little cramped for 4 of us but we used the garden area to get the children out from under our feet

Review 136:the security was amazing. There was a little garden area for my young boys to use.
