Reviews for Ashmount Guest House and Restaurant
Review 1:Nothing.
Review 2:We stayed in retreat no 21, had a fabulous time. All staff were excellent, food was delicious & would definitely book again. The hot tub was fantastic!
Review 3:The only issue was the room was cold, there is a very small radiator for a very high ceiling room. The room we had was the dispencery which has a small ante room and no door to the bed room. The outer door has a quarter light above which makes the room very light and difficult to sleep in.
Review 4:Loved the hotel, the location, friendly staff and fab food.
Review 5:Poor lighting in bedroom unable to read. Room service 2 toasted cheese sandwiches price just off 20 pounds rather steep!
Review 6:Quality of food. Helpful friendly staff
Review 7:We stayed in Dr McCracken and the mattress was past it's best and very hard and the duvet was lumpy so we didn't sleep well. It is also a regular double bed and not a Super King as mentioned on your web site. The sherry decanter was very dirty and no sign of Mine Host though is one meant to in a Guest House. Password for Wifi was incorrect
Review 8:The food was excellent both breakfast and dinner.
Review 9:It was very nice but overpriced ie it cost nearly £20 for a few sandwiches and £15 for an extra hour and half in your room on top of the £230 for the night especially when check in is 3pm and check out is 10:30am the following day.
Review 10:The food was incredible. The bathing facilities were excellent.
Review 11:The wi Fi signal was inconsistent. There needs to be a variety of CD s played Perhaps a better selection of prosecco and there was no Cinzano.
Review 12:Ruth, Stacey and the other young ladies were all absolutely wonderful. Ruth and Stacey went above and beyond the call of duty. Ruth spent ages helping to locate our missing luggage and then spent a long while trying to check us into our flight. Stacey squeezed us in to High Yea and then was so gracious when we added another guest. The professional yet friendly manner of everyone was really awesome. The standard of the evening meal and breakfast was exceptionally high.
Review 13:It was our 20th wedding anniversary we booked the sanctury spa room and it was absolutely beautiful from the four poster bed to the spa bath and hot tub we had a totally relaxing 3 days and didn't want to go home
Review 14:Limited choice on the wine menu. Different tables for every meal.
Review 15:The old house with lots of character and the quiet location were great. Lovely gardens and delicious food.
Review 16:From driving up to the property it delivered on every level. The setting and views were amazing. Every member of staff was attentive and friendly. A truly inspirational place to stay.
Review 17:This isn't a grumble, but a decent reading light would improve matters for a mature couple like ourselves!(constructive suggestion)
Review 18:The staff were lovely, couldn't do enough for us and my evening meal was excellent.
Review 19:No view. Felt it wasn't as private as it should because anyone could walk round the back.
Review 20:The staff were very friendly & helpful. Our steak was perfect but I would have like a few more veg.
Review 21:Lovely country house, beautiful clean room. Staff were very efficient, helpful and friendly. Breakfast was excellent. Close to Haworth and overlooking the beautiful hills. Very relaxing quiet environment.
Review 22:I booked The Retreat to celebrate my 25th wedding anniversary and wanted something special. Although the facilities were good (hot tub, whirlpool bath) there was a lack to detail. The tea and coffee facilities were poor, placed in a room attached to the bathroom. The toilet was tiny and looked as if it had been painted using the last of the red paint and the net curtains at the bedroom had a large hole in it. Maybe I'm being picky but I expected more from a 5*.
Review 23:Staff were polite and extremely helpful and scored 10/10. Breakfast was great.
Review 24:If you enter the car park nose first and then find it is full you will lose ten minutes of your life backing out again. The bathroom has one of those signs about being environmentally "friendly" by not changing towels every day and hence using less water. Good sentiment, but this is a place with power showers with multiple jets and several rooms that have their own hot tub!
Review 25:The room, bed, dressing gowns, view, sherry in room, shower and breakfast
Review 26:I didnt like the fact that we had to go home and back to work!
Review 27:The ashmount is like a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. each room is tastefully done with romance a key focus. we have stayed in most of the hot tub rooms and they are all beautiful, its like arriving at your own private spa and its great not having to share the jaccuzi. We stayed this time for my birthday but you dont need an excuse to stay at this hotel. If your looking a luxury spa hotel then we highly recommmend the ashmount to you. The staff are amazing and one young gentleman made our stay better than any other previously. He was a fantastic host and all round great guy who made our stay simply fabulous.
Review 28:We stayed in the tranquillity suite which was beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and very comfortable. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast, afternoon tea and dinner were all outstanding.
Review 29:The only thing was wife got a 175ml glass of white wine before dinner was only when I got the bill next morning found I was charged 6 pound 10 pence which I found very steep other wise everything else good.
Review 30:Everything about the place was good staff really friendly room very nice good food.
Review 31:Just the dated tea and coffee service within the room. A small coffee machine would have been perfect.
Review 32:The staff were very warm, frendly and helpful. The hotel had a lovely warm feeling and the view from the Ingham room was perfect.
Review 33:no lock on bathroom door and wouldn't close. Waiting an hour for our breakfast, but they wer very apologetic and reduced our bill, which was very positive
Review 34:four poster bed was great. Views from bedroom amazing. Breakfast was lovely
Review 35:When we arrived we was shown our room to which was the wrong room as booking.com has "the honey pot" and "suite dreams" pictures the wrong way round but the staff was more than happy to give us the other room for the same price ... No fault atall of the hotels.
Review 36:The friendlyness of the staff was second to none , the food was perfect the room was perfect everything went perfect ! I didn't try the wifi so I don't know wether it was on or not but we was given the password so I can only assume it was
Review 37:The character of the guest house had been retained. It was ideally placed to visit The Bronte Parsonage. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
Review 38:excellent service with attention to detail. Nothing was to much effort for the staff. My partner is disabled and every effort was made to make sure our stay was as comfortable and relaxing as possible.we stayed in the hideaway spar and the only regret we had was that we couldn't stay for longer. We would highly recommend a stay at ashmount and will definitely be booking again.
Review 39:Our bed was a little "lumpy."
Review 40:We enjoyed the lovely atmosphere, the peace and quiet, the tasty food, the ideal location, the accommodating staff -- everything, really. It was our second stay in two years. As a high school English teacher, I loved being in "Bronte country" and sincerely hope I can return one more time!
Review 41:The bed mattress was a little on the hard side for my liking
Review 42:The food was excellent, the staff very helpful and attentive. Especially liked the special touches in the room such as home made biscuits and sherry! Great view from the restaurant.
Review 43:No negatives.
Review 44:Room was beautifully presented and the bed was huge and so comfortable. Staff were lovely and could not do enough to make the stay memorable - even finding us a USB charger when we forgot to pack ours. Food in the resteraunt was fantastic - we were only planning to eat the first night but couldn't resist a second go. Breakfast options are extensive. Truly recommended.
Review 45:Breakfast is not served until 08:30 and I needed to be in the office for 08:00 - however the very helpful waitress sorted me out and left me a lovely little continental breakfast, complete with milk and butter in a cool bag, so all was good!
Review 46:Food was fantastic Loved the honesty bar Room was lovely and spotless
Review 47:Nothing i could fault. There were a couple of things i had asked for, (soya milk) and they were provided for me:) Love the homely feel and will return again:)
Review 48:Wi-fi did not work on my first day for some reason, so it impacted on my plans. This hotel is a great place with excellent facilities but it is not unexpensive.
Review 49:Excellent stay. Very nice room with lovely view. Spacious, clean and silent with complimentary tea facilities in room, buiscuits and even sherry! Staff very friendly and attentive, nothing was ever a problem for them, from unusual dietary requirements to luggage storage request. Breakfast was really good, and in general the restaurant served great food. Great location close to the main road and yet away from noise.
Review 50:There was not 1 thing I can say I did not like about staying at the ashmount country house this place is wonderful! I wanted somewhere perfect to celebrate my husbands 30th birthday and I could not have chosen anywhere better the service was impeccable and the hotel was beautiful thank you so much for making our stay so perfect
Review 51:Nothing to dislike
Review 52:Beautiful country house close to the town. Friendly staff, excellent food. Very clean and comfortable a joy to stay. Would definitely recommend.
Review 53:The room was a little on the small side but we didn't spend much time in there anyway
Review 54:It was very welcoming and laid back. We ate in the restaurant and the food was incredible! We would recommend for just a quick getaway.
Review 55:The price - it was far too high. Wi-Fi did not work in "Tranquility" - a semidetatched house across the road from the main House. The incessat and too loud music played everywhere in the main House. Faulty tap on one of the baths.
Review 56:The staff were quite sweet.
Review 57:The room we stayed in was above the kitchen and all we could smellconstantly is grease and cooking oil, there was no fresh air in the roombecause opening the windows made the smell more intense. We hadheadaches and felt sick, we couldn't enjoy the exspensive room thatwe paid for. Also the view in the room was poor compared to the cheaperrooms on the same floor. It didn't make sense, the exspensive roomhaving a poor view of the kitchen waste and overlooking houses with thetiniest view of dales. Web site made it very misleading.
Review 58:Staff were lovely and food was great in the restaurant. Location was good-not far from the town.
Review 59:Only one thing, evening menu was not to our taste & expensive, but lots of places around the village to eat out.
Review 60:Everything about this house! Ended up staying an extra night! Staff were lovely &friendly.Even got us a local garage to check my car out as we had problems getting there. Will be going again!
Review 61:Secret garden is overlooked by some windows, description states this is not the case. Unable to access wifi as out of range of their router. Overall lovely hotel but I don't know if it is 5 star room was very nice but needed decorating, leak on ceiling with water marks stained, no room phone had to use mobile if wanted staff but not a problem for us
Review 62:Room and garden with spa in were very nice. Staff were excellent very pleasant stay overall and would go back some negatives but good out weighed only a few negative comments
Review 63:If you're staying at no 21 in Suite Dreams be aware people who use hot tubs below you don't sleep a lot! First night was ok, but second night we were above The Retreat room and the couple (and friends) were up till 4am in their tub talking loudly. We took earplugs and this is the only reason we didn't go mad! If you don't intend on sleeping much either (which I guess not a lot of people do in the suites - romantic getaways) you'll be fine. Power shower had very little power - you go in daunted by this massive shower head that might hail down on you at first and it's actually pretty weak. Only one veggie option for dinner and it didn't change, I simply didn't fancy it so we didn't eat there.
Review 64:Great staff, they were very helpful, and even the very young servers are nice. It's clean throughout, the couch is comfy enough to sleep on as a second bed. It is as it's advertised - don't believe other reviews that say they had no idea it was in the house across the road! It says it clearly and the room was just what we expected.
Review 65:Excellence comes at a price, be prepared to pay £140 per night.
Review 66:Warm, welcoming and personal. A very Yorkshire experience. Excellent location at the top of Haworth. Food was first rate and the well stocked honesty bar was a nice touch.
Review 67:Was pleased with everything
Review 68:The room was lovely..the service and staff were excellent..location great and a few minutes walk from the village..food was excellent..would definatly go again
Review 69:No sense of ownership. Who is the owner/manager? Where were they during our stay? Other guesthouses that we like always display that particular personal touch, lacking at the Ashmount.
Review 70:All support staff went out of their way to be friendly, courteous and helpful. Laid on an afternoon tea for us even though we hadn't booked one, and were a little late.
Review 71:The food was average to poor. I ordered a dish with Rosti in it which was grey and undercooked. I doubted how much of the food had been freshly cooked. The room was way too hot and v little room to move because the large bed took up most of the space. It wasn't a bad stay - it was ok - but it was definitely overpriced compared to the reality.
Review 72:The location is brilliant, the garden is lovely, with great views. And what is not to love about your own personal hot tub.
Review 73:Where we stayed in a ex-council house over the road from the country house b&b when we were made to believe we were in the house grounds!!
Review 74:The 'thought' of staying in a lovely Gardners Cottage in the grounds of a Country House'
Review 75:Evening meal in restaurant was poor for the price - prawn starter only 4 prawns and the portion of pork was small and overcooked. Hard peas made the bulk of the additional veg! No michelin star would have been awarded for the meal we had. Pillows were lumpy.
Review 76:Large comfy room. Good breakfast. Excellent as long as you just do B&B
Review 77:Room was large, comfy, good views.Staff more than willing tohelp, pleasant and took a genuine interest.Breakfast was great , thelocation was only a 2 minute walk to centre, the town and locals madeyou welcome as second nature. My first trip , recommend.
Review 78:The weather.
Review 79:Everything. Lovely welcome on arrival. The building is so full of history and decorated in keeping with the period. Wonderful food and a fabulous, comfortable, 4 poster bed in our room (Amos Ingham room). Beautiful gardens.

Review 88:A perfect place to explore bronte country and relax
Review 89:the ambience of the house,
Review 90:Fantastic food. Steak sous vide not found in most restaurants indicates the lengths they go to to get it right. Stayed in dispensary. Very happy.

Review 101:very slow service at dinner and not a lot better at breakfast
