Reviews for Kings Park Hotel
Review 1:Even with a recent refurb, still feels a bit run-down. Staff in hotel were nice but in the restaurant they were slow and 1 waitress even argued with us over our lunch orders. The shower in my room was rubbish - no pressure and changed from very hot to very cold water every few seconds. The TV didn't work, and neither did the remote but couldn't be bothered to get it sorted out.
Review 2:friendly staff, nice reception area
Review 3:Slight smell in corridor and room of what seemed to be blocked drains, room window opened every day upon return which leads me to believe they may have a drain issue.
Review 4:Always expect a good welcome from the reception staff
Review 5:Good price and for the money good overall accommodation. Breakfast included means even better value. Staff very polite and helpful. I will be back here when in Glasgow.
Review 6:There were some problems with the wifi that did not always work well.
Review 7:Friendly staff and manager and excellent service for breakfast. Room was spacious.
Review 8:Only one set of towels for a two person booking! Tsk, tsk
Review 9:Attitude of all staff, reception restaurant and domestics to visitors exemplary! Not one staff member failed to acknowledge visitors with a warm friendly greeting. Tasty brealfast
Review 10:Breakfast sausage was DREADFUL. Colourless, tasteless, too much rusk and not enough meat. Same as on my previous visit. I'd forgotten how bad it was or I would not have ordered it. Told reception desk, so hope for some improvement next time.
Review 11:All staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel had large car park. Only a few minutes from city centre by train or car. Plenty of choice at breakfast buffet. Plated breakfast ok except for......see "What didn't you like". Had a room facing over car park onto main road, but very little road noise.
Review 12:Not able to warm my own food due to hotel h&s policy. Not good enough for someone wt young kids.
Review 13:Location is good and the ambiance is very suitable for my needs. Inclusive breakfast makes it worthwhile.
Review 14:Christmas morning breakfast was a bit of a let down, spoke to reception about this and was given a refund, but not what you expect on a special morning.
Review 15:Staff were excellent and very helpful, food was also very good.
Review 16:Unable to turn the radiators down or off so the room was permanently boiling hot. No notice of a vety loud function on Friday night which was so loud I could hear every word the DJ said
Review 17:The bed was extremely comfy. The staff were polite and friendly. I liked breakfast was included and that there was free parking
Review 18:Lovely friendly staff in an excellent hotel. We travelled to the Kings Park for a Christmas Party Night with entertainment and a 3 course meal. The food was excellent, service excellent, and entertainment was great. We stayed over and enjoyed our time there. The room was suitable for the 4 of us, clean, tidy and equiped enough for our needs as was the en suite bathroom. On the following morning the service in the breakfast room was excellent, as was the breakfast. All in all, it was great value for money and we will be returning in 2016. Thankyou to all who made our stay a good one.
Review 19:they were unable to supply a prawn cocktail for dinner which I thought was poor as they had no prawns. Also my latte was luke warm however they gave me another one which was fine .then charged me for two when I complained they deducted both from my bill.
Review 20:The staff were lovely, incredibly helpful and made a terrific impression. The restaurant menu offered good choice at very reasonable prices for a hotel and the food we ordered was faultless.
Review 21:The room was tiny. Tv was tiny and most channels didn't work. The radiator in room 118 went all night with noises. Had to get moved at 3am. Wasn't a real shower was connected to tap do had no power. Constant noise by staff at night and in morning.
Review 22:Nothing
Review 23:Room extremely small could have been better arranged, also window not very secure. Shower had no power what so ever.
Review 24:Friendly staff, location suited our arrangements
Review 25:Very reasonably priced and location was perfect for us. The room, though a little dated, was comfortable and clean. Staff were welcoming and particularly helpful at breakfast . Thanks for an enjoyable stay!
Review 26:Mattress was very lumpy but was still an 'ok' sleep. Shower hardly wet you, very little sprinkle!
Review 27:In the middle of refurb All was good. Staff was pleasant. Bathroom lovely apart from taking ages to get the correct temp in the shower. Breakfast was good.
Review 28:We had two nights B&B for £99 excellent breakfast and evening menu was two courses for £11.99 overall fantastic value for money with good bus and train links.
Review 29:The bath and shower were very hard to use and the floor tiles. were very slippy
Review 30:The staff were very helpful and cheery and the food was very good especially the breakfast, great value for money.
Review 31:No bin in the toilet. One of the bed was broken the staffs offered to change the bed but they talked as if they knew about the situation and offered to change (But why would they put a broken bed if they knew?)
Review 32:Breakfast included in the price which was big and good for that price,
Review 33:waited 30 mins for breakfast order to be taken then 10 mins before being served ..had to be told by other diners had to serve myself with beverages...poor poor service
Review 34:reception very helpfulthen
Review 35:Food was served cold - three times. Breakfast very morning lookterrible. The 1st night meal had old wringklu lettace that was only fitfor the bin (same lot of lettace was served the 3 breakfast mornings),ice cream had melted by the time it came up from the kitchen.Medium/runny boiled eggs were hard boiled - told they had been onfor 7 mi Ute's, so what did Chef expect! Then I was given nocultlery to eat egss - well I was offered a knife & fork ! 3attempts at the boiled eggs so I gave up and ate only one small piece ofhard yolk over 2 mornings and 4 attempts at boiling them! Meal on 1stnight - prawn cocktail was thenweirest tasting prawns I've had. Notaste, look like the cheapest one that can be bought in Tesco. Main mealwas returned 3 times and I ate none of it in the end. Staff were mostapologetic and I'd go somfar tonsay that their body language agreedwith how the meals were presented and how. Old theybgeg because thekitchen is neo far away from the Bistro - that name is a joke. Breakfasttime staff had to be asked to mtop up food as they were more interestedin chatting at times. One girl who was obviously not local, only clearedthe tables (about 8) after her 'boss' said. Even then she did itslowly, did not even clean the table after it was cleared. More can beadded but not enough space! DON'Tstay here.
Review 36:Wherevit was for going to Hampden for football game
Review 37:Cold taps stop at peak times when lots of people taking a shower or bath. Shaving mirror light did not work, budget cheap coffee in room. Just little things really but they start to add up. This site calmed my single room was originally £500 per night lol! £48 was value for money but would not pay more than that ever!!!
Review 38:Clean, friendly staff, safe parking, 10 mins drive from city centre.
Review 39:The Hotel wasn't that clean, the shower nearly gave me third degree burns and then switched to freezing!! There was a disgusting smell like a blocked toilet on the corridoor to my room. The breakfast was greasy and rubbery with poor quality sausages.
Review 40:The staff were friendly, polite and extremely helpfull
Review 41:Due to function downstairs that we were unaware of until we returned to hotel at night it was loud and could clearly hear the music from below as we seemed to be situated directly above the venue hall. Once the party was over the inconsiderate guests stood loudly talking beside our room paying no attention when asked if they could lower there voices as our group was trying to sleep. However the guests being selfish was not down to the hotels running just more down to the fact the party guests were placed in the closest rooms.
Review 42:Friendly staff at check-in and meals. The room was clean and suitable for purpose for an overnight stay. Hotel was easy enough to find even though we don't really know Glasgow area.
Review 43:Uncontrolled and unsupervised children by the Parents running up and down the corridor outside our room all evening until after midnight NO SLEEP NO CONSIDERATION.room was situated @ the rear above the unloading bay very noisey ' 06.00 AM
Review 44:Lunch was EXCELLENT for value & flavour
Review 45:A bit run down, I am disabled and hotel stated disabled access but all rooms upstairs. Luckily I can use crutches too but shower was over bath. Our son's bed was a sofa on the foor right next to radiator pipes which were very hot so he shared his brother's single: not ideal as they are 11 and 12.
Review 46:Handy for the beautiful King's Park, just across the road which was great for the dogs. Resturant food was great and reasonably priced. Adult bed was very comfy and wifi was good. Bit of a mix up with the dogs so they only charged us for one dog instead of for both.
Review 47:Had an executive room. Very nice. Good value. However only one problem, the shower, whilst a modern one did not have any pressure, so could not shower. Told housekeeping but not seen to. Other taps on bath/bowl were fine. Good pressure and plenty of hot water.
Review 48:Food was very good.
Review 49:The room and bathroom was very dated and smelled and is much in need of upgradeing, the shower was poor and the duvet cover had a big stain on it.
Review 50:The food was very good and reasonably priced as were the drinks
Review 51:I was charged over £300 more than my friend for the same room just because I booked ten days after she made her booking. I paid £561 for four nights bed and breakfast which I felt was extremely excessive!
Review 52:The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Review 53:The lock to our room broke - it was quickly repaired but this was obviously a safety hazard! Hot water tap in bathroom never produced anything above lukewarm water! Breakfast staff were too quick to clear tables whilst we were still eating!
Review 54:Location - bus stop outside hotel for travel into Glasgow. Also free parking at hotel. Good choice at breakfast.
Review 55:The 21st birthday party went beyond 12 midnight and the music was quite loud. At other hotels we had stayed at the staff apologised beforehand and stated that there was a party on (at those hotels the music stopped at midnight) At Kings Park there was notice that a party was occurring and we thought that loud music would have stopped by midnight at least.
Review 56:Restaurant had great food, breakfast was cooked beautifully
Review 57:There was no lift to the floor where the rooms were and no banister up the stairs on the right side which made it difficult for one of my party to get up to the room as he is disabled
Review 58:The room was all that you needed. The beds were comfortable. The food was of a high quality and breakfast came as part of the deal
Review 59:First morning breakfast Ordered porridge. Then waiter took order for main breakfast which was delivered fairly promptly. Thought porridge was off menu and halfway through breakfast porridge arrived. No explanation or explanation of delay.
Review 60:Handy for City centre via Bus service. Food good standard and service good when they did not press the wrong button
Review 61:I was well impressed with the Hotel and it's facilities. Much better than I was expecting, all staff very friendly and helpful. Plenty space in room with all the facilities you could require, plus free Wi-Fi throughout our stay. Breakfast cooked to order.
Review 62:I was in a single room and could not turn off the radiator. The pipe beneath the radiator was red hot and the room was red hot. When trying to work in the evening, it made it impossible. The heat was all night which made sleeping difficult. The bed was really squeaky, so if you tried to move you'd be woken up, then you'd struggle to get back to sleep due to the temperature
Review 63:The staff are friendly and helpful, breakfast is very good.
Review 64:nothing!
Review 65:everything! the staff was nice and friendly. Room and bathroom were perfectly clean, the room silent and comfortable. Breakfast absolutely perfect! 10 mins drive or ride on bus to the city centre. Free large parking lot outside!
Review 66:Bath/shower taps didn't work very well. Hot water running out of taps, lukewarm warm water dribbling out shower at same time.
Review 67:Comfy bed, good size room. Lovely meals at good price
Review 68:Breakfast is average especially on a weekend when the staff seem overly busy and the food is often overcooked. There are parties, weddings etc at this hotel on a weekend and the music is loud until 1am which is the main downside of this hotel. The building is not equipped for this as the rooms are not soundproofed in any way
Review 69:Staff are excellent. Friendly and helpful. Evening meals are very good and reasonably priced. Location good for the Emirates Arena. Free parking
Review 70:Walls are thin. Crumbs on the desk chair and dust on top the kettle. The hot water is VERY hot and can fluctuate in the shower. The shower has no power and is not much more than a dribble.
Review 71:The staff were polite and helpful and the food was good.
Review 72:The overal lack of effort in the room. The shower head wad broken and fixes with tape, the carpet was tired. The sound outside was very disturbing. They also organise weddings, and the sound of the guests is quite loud and until very late
Review 73:The hotel offered free parking on the property. The breakfast was okay. It was clean. The staff wad nice too.
Review 74:The noise from the events being held- the 21st wasn't too bad but the wedding meant people standing under our window drinking and making a racket till the early hours, and a 2am fight in the car park!! ( none of this the fault of staff- just be aware functions are hosted there)
Review 75:The staff! Couldn't have been nicer or more helpful!
Review 76:Just check if there are parties booked during your stay as it can be very noisy late at night.
Review 77:The staff where extremely nice and very obliging, the food was excellent.
Review 78:Was spoken to terrible by one of the staff members in the Resturant area at breakfast, asked to sit together as a family 5 of us, to be told can u not sit separated.... ?? I asked politely for more toast for my little one, and some milk for her cereal to be told u will have to wait, witch was fine, then to be told 10 mins later the milk has been let down in the cereal bar, get it urself. Manors cost nothing!
Review 79:Friendly staff as you arrive at the reception , accommodation very practical .... There was 5 of us in one room, was nice and cosy ... Nothing was a effort for the staff.
Review 80:The hotel was suppose to be 20min out of city centre but no where onhotel Information does it say you pass boundaries making taxis pricehigher, £10.90. We did find a bus number 21 the went back and forward tohotel. The hotel needed a major revamp and updating. The room had paddedwall behind headboard. Phone tv and furniture was severely outdated.Chips and paint water marks. Next morning no hot water it was so cold wecouldn't put our hands in it. I made a call to reception andinstantly we had hot water. We went down to breakfast there was nottea/coffee ready. Menu was confusing with prices on it even thoughit was included in price. When asked my options my scrambled egg came assunny side up instead. Overall very disappointed and upset as thepictures and review are very miss leading.
Review 81:The staff was friendly but sometimes smell like they haven'tshowered recently
Review 82:Room small shabby and not well laid out . No sockets next to mirrors for example . Shower was unacceptable . Bathroom was clean but dated .
Review 83:Staff friendly . Public areas nicely decorated . Bar prices reasonable .
Review 84:No lift . Very hard for elderly people to climb stairs with suitcases etc. Room configuration very hard to manoveur round the bed.
Review 85:Staff friendly and food was amazing
Review 86:There was a wedding on in the venue and unfortunately the family room is above the function room and the music from the was pumping and vibrating until 2am!!! So the kids were hard to settle ... And there was something badly wrong with the carpet in the restaurant area as it was very lumpy bumpy is the only way I can describe it and we kept tripping on it.. Not only us the Staff were tripping on it too.
Review 87:The Staff were very friendly and food was delicious .. Breakfast and Evening meal ... Hotel was in a good location for our needs..
Review 88:The extractor Fan and Shaving Socket in the bathroom did not work, we did inform reception they told us to inform cleaning staff which we did, but it was never fixt. We was going to a wedding, the reception was being held at this hotel, and my husband needed to shave witch was not possible, we was loaned a shaving adapter, not very professional needs improving.
Review 89:we liked the location. Plus Mr & Mrs Mooney's wedding reception was in this hotel, the food was very nice and well presented.
Review 90:We booked a room for 5. Our room was small, very small, We hadn't space for move without "exercises" no space to sit at the desk. The beds were old and not comfortable
Review 91:Very nice employees at reception and bar
Review 92:The only complaint is that the Wifi did not work. It's like I was given the wrong code.
Review 93:It was a good value for money. The breakfast in particular was good
Review 94:The rooms are basic and not very roomy and roasting
Review 95:Was meant to pay £85 bit only paid £70 cause of the party was there, but the hotel it's self was good
Review 96:Noise from parties going on downstairs in the hotel. Unfortunately I had to make a few complaints about the room, some were sorted the same day others not. The most important one was that the hot water was very dangerously hot and would scold a young child or an elderly person. The shower was very difficult to regulate and had low power. On a second look at the shower head it looked like it need either a good clean or better still a replacement. Power points in the room were difficult to locate and on my last day I noticed that a double socket was loose on the wall.
Review 97:Nice size of room for the price.
Review 98:Bathroom sink had separated taps for cold and hot water. Had to use shower tap to brush teeth and shave. Slow and intermitent Wifi. Limited food choice at restaurant.
Review 99:Very good value for money. Free parking. Polite and professional staff. Very good breakfast.
Review 100:Not a bad experience but found the over bath shower a bit awkward.
Review 101:A very clean and well appointed hotel with pleasant staff. Also the bar prices were very reasonable and the food was very good. In addition the room facilities were excellent.
Review 102:One of our rooms had a double bed and single bed, very squashed, no room to move about, had to move about sideways. You couldn't even wheel the suitcases through but had to carry them over the bed. Had to use single bed for storage of cases. Shower was hard to regulate. Room very hot. Power points not in good place for drying hair, nowhere near a mirror. Breakfast very ordinary, wouldn't have wanted to pay the £9.25 pp if it hadn't been included. The 2nd day they had no peaches to offer. The breakfast room was extremely hot and bright, could do with some blinds as it faces morning sun.
Review 103:Very friendly staff, couldn't do enough to help, when we arrived our toilet wouldn't flush and it was fixed immediately. Closeness to buses into Glasgow. Adequate parking.
Review 104:Having asked for a quiet room, my room was one floor up from a function room that had loud music playing on both the Friday and Saturday night until at least midnight. If the hotel couldn't have provided a quiet room, they should've informed me of the fact so that I could've looked for other accommodation.
Review 105:Good breakfast included with room rate.
Review 106:Pleasant but generally scruffy staff, very noisy at night with corridor doors banging and loud footsteps till gone midnight. TV in room not functioning correctly, musky / aged smell in room.
Review 107:Staff were very attentive and pleasant location was good.
Review 108:bathroom needs updating. Shower bath taps hard to use. Dirt behind taps. Need mixer taps as water scorching. Radiator in bathroom. Burned my hand. Room not woth money. Breakfast very very poor
Review 109:Staff helpfull
Review 110:I thaught everything was good although wee hoover in the stairs b nice
Review 111:Was great for Celtic park walking distance and short car journey to science and transport centre museum
Review 112:Padded wall and decor of room it was like a padded cell.Room small but decor made it feel even smaller
Review 113:Young staff superb efficient polite menu aand bistro food good
Review 114:Thin walls and a bit of noise.
Review 115:Excellent Value for money, upgraded our rooms and not a problem we turned up at 1am and they even allowed us to have a nightcap in the bar before bed. Room recently refurbished, staff very nice.
Review 116:Partying(i guess wedding party) friday and saturday night, so don't go at weekend, if you wanna sleep good! We had early sunday morning, and we tried to go to early to sleep cuz had to wake up around 6am, but couldn't sleep, cuz all of the noise and music hearing really well in the rooms...wasn't nice at all...
Review 117:Nice room, really nice staff, breakfast was little disappointing, so little to choose from, if you had breakfast included to price, if you wanted more, then pays extra, but the break was really good, and juice, so can forgive that.. Really nice staff
Review 118:Could have been cleaner, dust around floor in bathroom & on toilet roll holder. Cobweb above bed. Small tear in bed sheet.
Review 119:Staff very nice. Food in bistro good.
Review 120:Only 15 mins drive from the hydro and same from Glasgow airport. Rooms basic but clean and spacious. Four was excellent. Breakfast fry up was lovely and the staff we encountered were professional, polite and a good laugh. Car parking is free and there is a lovely park just across the road if you fancy a stroll to walk off the yummy food!
Review 121:Dark dingy dirty room over function room, a wedding was on music ok i had earplugs but the Bride & groom had room across from us and were up and down stairs till 3.30am letting the doors slam all night so no sleep Cooked breakfast very greasy bacon and sausage uck
Review 122:Helpful reception staff location bus just outside no 21 straight into Glasgow
Review 123:Skirting boards thick with dust, black mould around bath sealant, too noisy (from outside and from surrounding rooms).
Review 124:Friendly staff, comfortable bed and good tea and coffee facilities in the room
Review 125:Adequate and clean, could do with abit of an update in bedroom. Huge gap between skirting and wall. Also rubbish bins left with the lid off, not an ice sight from the bedroom window . It enabled the rather rotund seagulls to feast noisily outside my window.
Review 126:Good value friendly service good breakfast.
Review 127:The position of the toilet was nonsense. I am a large man and found the toilet difficult to use. To make this worse the toilet roll holder was at shoulder adding to my discomfort. I was suffering from a tummy disorder, so this was important. TMI I know.
Review 128:THE PRICE WAS TO HIGH FOR WHAT YOU GOT,THERE WAS NO DUVET COVER IT WAS JUST TWO SHEETS MADE FOR THE COVER AND THERE WAS DUST ON TOP OF CURTAINS AND ON PHOTO FRAMES
Review 129:LIKED THE LOCATION FOR THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL STADIUM
Review 130:The fact that there are no blinds in the dining room. they are needed as the faces the early morning sun and eating in comfort is possible. Needs changing!
Review 131:The staff are very obliging
Review 132:No wifi password given at check-in. Phone in room did not work. Outdateddecor, not all beds comfortable. Low water pressure in shower. Partyjust below our room on last night (of2) with very loud music 'tilwee hours of the morning and we had to get up @ 6 am for flight home.
Review 133:Leaving!
Review 134:Hot water tap was broke. Had to use a different room for a shower and bath for baby. window was broke.had to call them to close it. wifi was very poor - pretty much unusable. had to keep asking not to put my little girls food on a piping hot plate. It was too sunny in the resturant due to the windows, sounds petty but sun was burning my face and little girl was really uncomfortable and wouldn't eat.
Review 135:Quick check in and check out. Whenever we needed something they were very quick. Scottish breakfast was reasonably nice.
Review 136:Unbelievably loud music at 60th birthday function and I am sure they all had a good time. Did not lower decibels even after 12.30 pm.
Review 137:Excellent Gluten free bread for breakfast - thank you. Location near Hampden Football Ground.
Review 138:Only two little things - shower could have been better, and there was a dirty pair of work shoes in the wardrobe.
Review 139:Staff were extremely pleasant, especially in the restaurant; food was perfect (haggis, neeps & tatties); room was quiet, clean and comfortable.
Review 140:Shower loose on wall, shower temp varied a lot, towel rail had unsafe wires protruding.
Review 141:The friendliness of Staff, very accomodating they were when help was required. Nice room, slean and LOVELY white towels.
