Reviews for Ann Tysons House
Review 1:The location of the property was spot on, in the heart of a beautiful village. Within walking distance to pubs, shops and beautiful countryside walks.
Review 2:The bathroom in our room needed updating a little but the bed was awful and we could feel every spring in the matress, other than that the room was very clean and welcoming.
Review 3:Very friendly owner and the room was very olde worlde and quaint, breakfast was fantastic.
Review 4:Nothing'
Review 5:Everything lovely, cosy, warm room Hot water, breakfast was very nice. Rosemary the landlady made you feel Welcome. Defiantly go back there again. Spot on'
Review 6:Room got no sun so felt a little damp until you put the heater on. Big climb into shower which was a tiny bath used as a shower tray.
Review 7:Location great welcome and breakfast great
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Very friendly and helpful people, great breakfasts, very clean, gorgeous flowers outside, beautiful rooms and buildings...altogether wonderful experience in a charming lakeland village.
Review 10:A dreadful very cramped room at the rear of a back yard with rust old garden furniture and animal droppings and dead plants.NO dressing table, nowhere to sit except outside the back door at on a wall next to a down sewer pipe. A manageress whose only concern was how close to a n electricity meter I could park the car in a space quite far from the hotel. And definitely no view whatsoever.
Review 11:Nothing.
Review 12:Unfortunately the mattress and pillows were quite uncomfortable to sleep on but a mattress topper would help and new softer pillows too. The ceiling height in shower was low for a tall person and not easy to step into. It would be difficult for someone with mobility problems.
Review 13:Location was perfect and plenty of walks available from the doorstep. Staff were really friendly and helpful and the lady of the house had plenty of interesting tales to tell about the history of Hawkshead. A lovely full English breakfast was provided each morning. The car parking space with top cottage was really good. Overall we had a really nice relaxing break.
Review 14:A little dust on back of chairs, didnt like the plastic sheet on the bed made me sweat it was uncomfortable, the bath was slippery that mat has to go!
Review 15:Friendly, location, breakfast, information, clean
Review 16:Room smelt a little musty but that's what you get with lovely quaint cottages, not really a problem!
Review 17:Town centre location but on a nice narrow back street with no traffic.
Review 18:No bad experience just a tight breakfast schedule 8:30-9 although have to say it worked well no delays
Review 19:Lovely little cottage comfortable staff lovely centre of hawkeshead
Review 20:Breakfast very good and comfy bed. We liked having the room with seperate entrance.Useful to have maps in the room and as it was wet lent us the map in plastic case.
Review 21:didn't like having to trudge uphill to the carpark but that's the only downside to staying in such a wonderful place
Review 22:friendly staff, comfy room. Breakfast with equally friendly guests. Altogether excellent
Review 23:Not saying I didn't like the breakfast but but fresh mushrooms instead of tinned would of been better and beans would of been nice.
Review 24:Close to shops and pubs, comfy bed
Review 25:From the moment we arrived, nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were so friendly and made us feel so welcome. Their advice concerning local facilities was so welcome. The place is full of character. If you're looking for something akin to a Premier Inn, this is not for you. This is a traditional English Guest house, full of character. The room was excellent, with all the usual facilities (tea coffee making facility, TV, free wifi, excellent bathroom (mind your head if you are tall), comfortable bed and lovely armchairs and window seat. The full english breakfast was DIVINE! Choice of cereal, fresh juice, tea or fresh coffee, copious amounts of toast, and a massive freshly cooked full English using really tasty foods. Good parking... A really excellent place.
Review 26:We felt the bedroom required an update - the sofa and easy chair were not very comfortable. The rmote on the television did not work - so manual control!
Review 27:Excellent breakfasts which kept us going all day!
Review 28:The Queens Head round the corner, expensive, rude and reconstituted chips with the Chateaubriand.
Review 29:Couldn't fault any part of the friendly hospitality and accommodation, breakfast included eggs from her own chickens, beautiful place and people.
Review 30:Nothing really, very old building with lots of history, so don't expect all mod cons. No hair dryer in the room, but had a word with Rosemary and one was lent.
Review 31:Very central, lovely breakfast, Rosemary the Landlady was lovely and very helpful with booking in and parking etc, also helped with things to do around the village.

Review 34:The owners were very accommodating and made us breakfast a little earlier than they normally do. They let us park our bikes in the entrance bit of our ground floor room.
Review 35:in need of updating
Review 36:If you are after a travel lodge with a bright airy feel then this is not for you. It is a b&b that has reams of atmospheric quirks low ceilings and original features
Review 37:The owner Jonny was helpful and welcoming. The room was warm and cosy with a good tv and view of birds in garden, It is in the centre of the beautiful village, a very short walk to pubs and shops. Hearty well cooked breakfast. Great value compared with other B&Bs in Hawkshead, I enjoyed my stay very much.
Review 38:I must admit the bed was a bit hard for me but that is such a minor point as the room was excellent.
Review 39:This property is perfectly located in this small village and within 2 minutes walk of all the amenities.
Review 40:The location and quirkiness of the cottage, also the nice touch of a selection of dvds in place in case you. Didn't want to go out that evening
Review 41:ann tysons is very dated ,uncomfortable and dirty , damp and mouldy smelling , i would never stay there which is a shame as it could be done lovely , urgent need of a revamp,, spoilt the weekend :(
Review 42:hawkshead was fantastic , the villagers are so friendly its quaint and quiet really beautiful part of the lakes xx
Review 43:Location is perfect. The B&B fits in beautifully in this quaint little village. The breakfast is excellent and staff are very friendly. The bedrooms all have there own external door so you are not disturbing anyone. Its also excellent value for money.
Review 44:Bit jaded and certainly dated, poorly lit bathroom otherwise all was fine
Review 45:The owner and staff were extremely helpful, warm and friendly, it is very much of an era, quirky and a little old fashioned but everything you need is to hand and it is very central, it has a rustic charm, breakfast was very good
Review 46:my only complaint was that we werent there long enough.
Review 47:we have had many holidays over the years in the lakes as we used to have caravans. we lost my father in april and it was the first break mum has had for 5 years so i was a bit concerned as to how she would cope. i neednt have worried. rosemary was so welcoming and by the end of our break we feel she is a friend. her son is a brilliant cook and we enjoyed each breakfast. high quality food every day including fresh eggs daily from the owners hens. the b&b was in a brilliant position and was very lakeland and clean and comfortable. i would love to keep this place a secret but that would be selfish. thank you for a lovely break to all at ann tysons. we will deffinately be back.
Review 48:Unfotunately we were a little disappointed with the cooked breakfast in that the bacon had been fone in microwave, only a small moan, everything else was lovely :-)
Review 49:Everything perfect except breakfast x
Review 50:- The decor is very dated. This is not a dislike, rather an observation. I'm not sure it has been refreshed since it opened and would benefit greatly from time and money spent on new carpets, curtains, linens and a refresh of the facilities. Having said all that, it would not stop me from staying here again
Review 51:- The location in the heart of the village of Hawkshead and therefore within very short walking distance of pubs and restaurants - Access to walks and runs across country - Free parking - Breakfast was cracking! - Clean and cosy room
Review 52:We had an amazing breakfast cooked to perfection and the staff were great. We had a king size bed!! It was definitely the best night's sleep we've ever had in a b&b/ hotel. Thanks again for the hospitality!

Review 54:We stayed in the cottage which was lovely , with private parking fir the motorbike . The owners were very friendly and made us feel very welcome .breakfast was served in the B+B just around the corner in a very small but comfortable dining room, the food was excellent . There are several pubs nearby that all served great meals. Would definitely stay again.
