Reviews for Premier Inn Watford North
Review 1:We had an overnight room that was lovely and comfortable and clean and everything we'd hoped for after a very long journey. Initially we were given a room where the 3rd bed hadn't been made up but the staff quickly gave us another room. The breakfast was ideal and the staff friendly. For us, it served its purpose really well.
Review 2:Friendly, hard working staff. We didn't book for breakfast on our last morning and unfortunately we couldn't get in for 2hrs. An excellent member of staff tried her best to find us an available table, with no luck. We were refunded the money for the breakfast. The fact that she had tried was enough. Very satisfied.
Review 3:We were a family of 4, 1 double bed, 1 single and 1 put me up bed. My son could not sleep in put-me-up bed as far too uncomfortable, he is 9 yrs old, so I swapped and I slept in it. I would have complained to staff in morning but we were merely directed to leave our door key as she was seating customers in restaurant. We just left !!
Review 4:Central for what we required
Review 5:When I arrived there was no change on the premises so I had to wait for 4 hours until I came down for dinner and then I had to ask for it again, there was still no change and one of the waitresses had to run over the road to get it for me. At breakfast, there was 5 empty tables, but the manager told us to have a seat on the sofa while they cleared us a table, after 10 minutes of waiting and no one coming to us I had to go up to a very friendly lady and ask if my table was ready, she didn't know what I was on about and sat us straight away at a table that we could of had earlier. I also found a hair in my food, I complained, the kind lady again asked me if I wanted a refund I didn't, but the manager didn't even aplogise properly as she was on the phone at the same time and just nodded her head at me, which I thought was rude.
Review 6:The beds were comfy and the room was spacious.
Review 7:Children's beds were not that comfortable and one really creaked when turning over. Restaurant for evening meals wasn't appealing and was empty. One grandson only wanted pancakes for breakfast on day one there was no delivery on day two they had run out he was disappointed.
Review 8:Great location for our visit to Warner bros studios. Breakfast good and staff very accommodating.
Review 9:We've got a 1 year old and there was no fridge in the room to put his bottles in tho the staff tried there best to help us
Review 10:The staff were excellent, very helpful, they couldn't do more for us
Review 11:Friendly and helpful staff, child friendly hotel. Great location for our trips to Harry Potter Studio tour and Whipsnade Zoo, and for travel via Luton Airport.
Review 12:The only disappointment was we couldn't come back and sit anywhere for a drink after a meal as there wasn't a bar.
Review 13:The room was clean and comfortable. We came for the Harry Potter tour so it was in a great location for that. Very convenient.
Review 14:Breakfast was good be it a little slow and unorganized. First morning was OK but we went down later the 2nd morning and they had run out of a lot of things like cups, orange juice, cutlery. We ordered vegetarian sausages but the chef didn't get 1st the order and we then had to wait for them. They did provide soya milk though and were very friendly.
Review 15:First stay in a Premier Inn and was pleasantly surprised, the rooms were warm, clean and spacious. We even had a bath which was great after spending 5 hours walking around the Harry Potter Studios ! Also there is a good choice of Restaurants within walking distance we ate at TGI 's and Harvester and walked to both.
Review 16:Clean, welcoming and comfortable. We arrived hungry and whilst the kitchen wasn't available that night due to certain circumstances we had already decided we'd like to go to TGI Fridays which is right next door. Very convenient and also excellent service. The staff are helpful and the breakfast is good. A particularly nice gesture of premier Inn to donate breakfast money to Great Ormond St Hospital on the morning we ate there. It was an easy drive to Warner Bros Studio which was our reason for being there. An excellent visit.
Review 17:Nothing altho view not super but I didn't go to stare out the window lol
Review 18:The room was lovely...staff were very pleasant and helpful.... close to the Harry Potter Tour if that's where your heading. Taxi cost me £10 each way but after a 5 hour drive I was happy to pay it but it is only about 10mins away if you know where you're going. Breakfast seemed pricey to me so we went and had a McD breakfast. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED PREMIER INN
Review 19:The airconditioning unit was very loud and didn't seem to work properly. Staff advised it would be sorted by the time the next guest stayed.
Review 20:Staff were very friendly and the facilities were like new.
Review 21:Very noisy buzzing sound all night from the bathroom. (Lights were off). I found it very difficult to find the location, the postcode for sat nav sent me round the wrong way taking me to a road accessible the other side of hotel on a busy one way system. Some more tea alternatives in the room would have been nice, such as green or fruit.
Review 22:Very clean, comfortable and room well equipped.
Review 23:Room was lovely..although too hot..and as we were on ground floor unable to open window due to safety.
Review 24:The manager at breakfast was fantastic.. Couldn't do enough for us.
Review 25:limited/"no" restaurant options in-house (but good chain restaurant around the corner) and not so good location for travel connections
Review 26:nice room & staff & good parking availability
Review 27:My first time staying at Premier Inn and was very impressed - excellent service and very comfortable rooms - would have no hesitation to book again elsewhere.
Review 28:Nothing
Review 29:Brilliant staff, the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in. Lots of pillows. Very clean and spacious rooms. Big TV positioned in a great place. TGi Friday's staff were really lovely too and food excellent.
Review 30:Very little breakfast items available when we went down - had to wait for cooked items so ended up kids finishing before we had started. A lot of money for poor quality.
Review 31:Location was fantastic for what we wanted & cleanliness was excellent
Review 32:We had dinner on the Saturday night and felt that this could have been improved by having an operating kitchen as opposed to microwaveable food.
Review 33:My daughter is gluten and lactose free. The staff really went out of their way totry to help and suggested for the Saturday night that she buy a microwaveable meal which they would heat for her so that she could eat with the whole family. Omar was amazing. He could not do enough for us. He worked from 7am Saturday morning until we left the dining room at about 9.30pm when he had to clear the table and was back on duty on the Sunday morning. Still smiling and cheerful and so welcoming to all the guests.
Review 34:The man who worked in the restaurant and the lady on the reception who worked the evening of 21st august were fantastic with my kids. Nothing was too much trouble very friendly. The lady gave me some helpful hints on the trains which gave me a single mum travelling with 2 kids the confidence to venture into london to watch a show which was amazing. These pair made my trip alot less daunting as it was my first real adventure as a lone parent so thankyou
Review 35:Soap was smelly and was not usable at all. we ended up using our own soap. Water from shower was too trickly; shower itself was attached to the top; not comfortable to use; especially with young kids. Coffee replenishments were not sufficient; milk was too less. But when pointed out the staff were very happy to refill it.
Review 36:Amazing experience with Staff who were ever so helpful; accomodating; pleasant. Clean rooms.
Review 37:The hotel was really close to Warner Brothers Studios which was the purpose of our stay. The staff were super, we were offered directions to the studios when we arrived without having to ask and were given advise about travelling into London which we requested. Nothing was too much trouble, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Thank you for a lovely stay!
Review 38:Two little problems: 1. The handbasin in the bathroom was very slow to drain. 2. We could hear the small children in the room above us.
Review 39:Everything else was just as it should be with no fuss, and everything we needed.
Review 40:definitely nothing to complain about
Review 41:The staff were great, very helpful. The buffet breakfast was lovely, though a little hit and miss as to availability when busy, but each item was replenished quickly. Location - only a 5 min drive to Potter studio tour
Review 42:We arrived at 8.45pm with a baby. They said we had booked a single room when we had booked a quad room plus cot bed. We were told the room was not ready!! Walked up 2 floors and the room key didn't work. After walking up and down 2 floors a further 3 times & the staff refusing to come back up with us to check why the key wouldn't work, and being left sitting in a hallway with a crying baby and a 10 year old having panic attacks in the soaring heat, we finally got told the room was being used by someone else!! We were, after 45 minutes, finally moved to 2 separate double rooms and left to put the cot bed up ourselves!! My baby finally went to sleep at 10.45pm and was then up and down all night as a result of the farce!! I then discovered there was a rip in the top edge of the cot bed and my baby had been eating the foam from inside it. When we went for breakfast they had no highchair available as they only had 2!! They finally refunded the night but blamed it on Bookings.com for putting through a single room booking not a quad room plus cot bed. When you turned the TV on in the bedroom it stated on the screen that it had been stolen from the Travelodge as well!!!!!!
Review 43:Absolutely nothing!
Review 44:I saw the chef /chefs helper not sure which climb into the large wheelie bin outside behind a fenced area and jump up & down to squash the rubbish down !!! Very unhygienic to say the least , let the whole team down !!
Review 45:Staff were extremely helpful & friendly Facilities were immaculate Breakfast excellent
Review 46:Thought the breakfast was expensive £8.75 per person. We found a Harvester just down the road, great value for money and unlimited for £4.95 per person and very nice.
Review 47:Stayed for Harry potter studios which was only 2 miles away from the premiere inn so great location for that. I would say the only thing is if you don't know where you are going the directions the hotel give you are hard to follow if you drive but hotel very good.
Review 48:when having a shower felt unsafe as no secure help on wall as there usually is quite easy to slip ,only one key given needed to pop to shop could'nt get back without maid's assistance as door lock;s when closed
Review 49:helpful staff, very clean
Review 50:outside noise as room backed into car park but can't be helped
Review 51:The hotel is in a good location 10 minutes from Harry Potter studio and 10 minute from train station. Staff lovely and girl on reception helped with information on travel to hotel and train station. Arrived an hour before check in but room soon became available for us.
Review 52:The shower could have been more powerful, more supply of food for breakfast as they run out of certain things
Review 53:How close it was to the Harry Potter studio, helpfulness of the staff, closeness to restaurants
Review 54:Breakfast was disorganised with a very long wait for hot food both mornings. There was only very basic bacon eggs and sausages, no extras like mushrooms or hash browns and they had no orange juice on the second morning.
Review 55:Staff very helpful. Recommended really good restaurants for us both nights and helped immediately to sort out air conditioning.
Review 56:There was nothing not to like about our stay here.
Review 57:The size and comfort and cleanliness of the room. Very friendly, helpful, happy & polite staff. Nothing to much trouble for them.
Review 58:no bad experience just would have liked a swimming pool but knew that when booking.
Review 59:very comfortable and very helpful staff 24/7 any thing i asked i was assisted with. def recommend this hotel premier inn north to stay in 10 out of 10 for staff and hotel
Review 60:The restaurant area was too hot and there was only a small air conditioning unit. we had requested a cot in one of the room a but it wasn't there when we checked in and there was no extra matress so it was quite uncomfortable.
Review 61:The staff were excellent and the location was good
Review 62:The staff were very welcoming and helpful always had a smile on their face. The breakfast had something for everyone good selection of food on offer. The hotel was 5 minutes away from the Harry Potter world. Being as the hotel was close to a very busy road I didn't hear the traffic at all once Inside the hotel.
Review 63:Staff were lovely, had to deal with computer system crashing. Very accommodating and looked after our bikes. Everything spotless. Would stay there again.
Review 64:The attitude of the front desk staff the morning of departure. They didn't seem that bothered that the stay had been interrupted by other noisy guests.
Review 65:The attitude of the front desk staff on arrival. Viny was very friendly and accomodating.
Review 66:Breakfast was awful. We had it in the resturate next door, food was awful was limited on the amount we could have as it was the last day they were doing breakfast. It was such a disappointment and spoilt what should have been a fantastic weekend.
Review 67:Noisy air conditioning units outside bedroom window of room 101.
Review 68:Immaculate bedroom and bathroom, snazzy background light behind the headboard was a hit with the kids too.
Review 69:Really nice staff. Room was fabulous - clean, comfortable, air-con, spacious and recently decorated. Really close to Warner Bros Studios for our visit. Great stay.
Review 70:Breakfast - food was absolutely fine but service and system was dire! At 8.10am , the system had just changed from serving plated food to table , over to a hot buffet - except there was no buffet available and still none 30 mins later! Nearly had to leave without getting breakfast. Asked member of staff for an update but to say she was robotic with almost automated/scripted answers would be an understatement!
Review 71:Booked this hotel because it was near Harry Potter Studio Tour. Brilliant location, very easy to find and has a TGI Friday's right next door!
Review 72:The fact you had to order the breakfast rather than just going to help yourself was a bit annoying but that's only a minor problem.
Review 73:The staff were really friendly and welcoming and we had a very comfortable stay.. All the rooms had just been refurbished to a great standard and the air conditioning worked wonderfully.
Review 74:A great friendly staff who were very accommodating; nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was clean and tidy with plenty of towels supplied.
Review 75:Only gripe, booked a family room that had a sofa bed but no bedding had ask for it. Was given a tiny quilt no sheet or pillow?!
Review 76:Great hotel, 5 mins to the Harry Potter studio tour which was our stop on the leg of our British tour. Clean, good amenities and nice breakfast.
Review 77:No telephone in room Room so if there was an emergency would have to go down two flights of stairs to get help. Room felt stuffy at times
Review 78:Nice bathroom Kettle and facilities to make tea in room
Review 79:Carpark under renovation difficult to locate hotel needs more signs entrance and from motorways etc
Review 80:Pleasant staff fresh decor free car park room ideal for our stay
Review 81:Middle of a building site atm. A bit too far from train station €10 each way in a taxi.
Review 82:Nice room, pleasant staff. Good location for Harry Potter tour.
Review 83:Booking.com don't mention the hotel is being extended and refurbished. Parking is severely lacking because of this. Also construction vehicles arrived before 7am despite the receptions assuring nobody started before 8am. Wouldn't have been too bad if we could have kept window closed but room was so warm and a/c didn't function. This also meant we had the sound of the building a/c units all night! Not a very good nights sleep. I would not recommend this hotel at the moment.
Review 84:Near Warner Studio Tour for Harry Potter Experience. Comfy beds.
Review 85:We turned up to arrive on a building site not been notified of works being carried out. Work vehicles, diggers etc in car park work men walking up and down corridor and no staff available on departure even though rang the 'press for assistance' buzzer!
Review 86:Comfort of bed as always
Review 87:The hotel is being refurbished so a few workmen around. Car park full of builders vans and materials. They did clear out later, so it did become more peaceful. Couldn't get WiFi to work, had to phone Premier Inns helpdesk. Even then it kept crashing.
Review 88:Modern, very clean, comfortable room. Positioned next to a TGI Friday restaurant. McDonalds 2 minute walk away. Warner Bros. Studios - Harry Potter about 5 minutes away by car. Member of staff on desk very friendly and helpful.
Review 89:Although it did say on booking.com that there was works being carried out until June, I hadn't seen it online. Builders vans filled up the carpark so we had to park away from the inn at the TGI Friday carpark. Was very noisy from early morning with building works & not a very 'relaxing' wake up call. Had booked & paid for breakfast but we weren't down on both days which caused embarrassment & an interrogation from TGI Friday staff (where breakfast is offered) even after asking premier inn staff to check after the first day that we were down for the 2nd morning, only I was down & not the children.
Review 90:Room was clean & tidy
Review 91:We were all awake most of the night due to the heat in the room, it war like being in a hot country. We tried to turn on the air con but it wouldn't work and when I questioned it in theremin get was told the it wasn't yet connected
Review 92:This Friday's next door
Review 93:Poor selection at breakfast and not enough staff on, though ones who were there were excellent.
Review 94:The room was a great size. The facilities were excellent and the staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 95:There was building works going on alarm went of quite a bit, i also paid for wifi but couldn't connect my chromecast to it so couldn't watch any movies from netflix or plex and probably the worst breakfast iv ever had
Review 96:it was 5 mins away from warner bros studio
Review 97:No bad points, couldn't download a film from iTunes Store to watch at night over the paid for wifi but I wasn't that bothered.
Review 98:Pretty close to WB Studios, staff were friendly breakfast at TGI's was good
Review 99:Had a problem with connecting to wifi. reception contacted IT people who fobbed me off with the excuse I had an appliance fault. Funny how laptop has worked elsewhere before and after my stay.
Review 100:Staff were all really loverly and helpful great location for being right near harry potter world also right near shops and mc Donalds which is handy and the beds are so comfortable
Review 101:The shower was poor, the shower head was just trickling and I had to basically run around in there to get wet!
Review 102:Everything was great. Staff were friendly and helpful, beakfast was beautiful and the bed was very comfy!!x
Review 103:The fan in the bathroom was very loud and deafening.
Review 104:Location was great for the Harry Potter Studios and was easy to find. Staff were very helpful and approachable.
Review 105:There were a couple of rooms on the floor above who had people stomping around and playing loud music until the early hours which kept my family awake. Another reason we struggled to sleep was that there was no air conditioning in the room and it was too warm, however I am aware that they are having it fitted this year so that aspect should be fine in the future. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to others.
Review 106:The staff were extremely helpful, cheery and made us feel welcome. The breakfast over at TGI's was really nice. We visited the Harry Potter Studios and the location was fab for that being less than 3 miles away.
Review 107:The only thing I didn't like about this hotel is that because we were arriving at night we almost drove past it as it was very dark, the sign for the hotel wasn't lit up and the hotel was at the end of a driveway behind TGI Fridays.
Review 108:This hotel was only a 10 min drive from Harry Potter Studios. Our rooms looked like they were only newly refurbished and were spotless.
Review 109:The only let down was there were building work going in- extention, which i was not informed about oine, only when we got there we knew about it and we dred the worst. Surprisingly, we hardly heard work being done, just regularly passed builders on the stairs and the occasional bang. But opening our window- we had scaffolding, so had to keep curtains shut due to walk way for workers. Was a bit disappointed that we paid so much to stay and were not informed about work that was being carried out.
Review 110:The overall stay was nice and comfortable. Clean and many food places to choose from nearby.
Review 111:Cooked breakfast in TGIFridays was disappointing as it was cold and the coffee could have been hotter as well.
Review 112:friendly ,helpful staff - my sister forgot her phone charger and the young lady at reception lent her her own . The room was spacious and very comfortable and the the hotel was quiet at night which meant we got three good nights sleep.
Review 113:Room was way too hot even with window open, took a night to get use to, construction was taking place during stay so a bit noisy.
Review 114:Comfy bed, nice room and good tv.
Review 115:Didn't like the breakfast in tgi's hopfully it will b better when they build the restaurant on the hotel.
Review 116:Loved the hotel & the amenities that were in walking distance
Review 117:Didn't like the noise coming from above as they were making noise all nite if you know what I mean. I don't think they rented the room with the intention of sleep. But it's not your fault. Would ask staff to make them stop in future.
Review 118:Everything was just as I would expect if not better.
Review 119:Shame they didn't upgrade the windows when they did the refurb-if you're used to utter silence then take some earplugs
Review 120:This recently refurbished premier inn has great clean rooms, is situated within easy reach of the train station and Warner Bros Studios and most importantly, has some of the friendliest and most helpful staff I've ever had the pleasure of meeting! We would definitely stay here again if we required a hotel in the Watford area.
Review 121:We stayed here for 2 nights from 10th February. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady on the late shift. The room and hotel were immaculate and the current refurbishments did not impact on us at all.
Review 122:Staff were very helpful and friendly. One of the best rooms we've ever stayed in - lovely and comfortable, great value for money. Easy check in and check out. Breakfast at TGI Fridays was superb. Great location. Wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
Review 123:The wifi didnt work at all. We ended up getting a refund on it.
Review 124:Staff were extremely helpful throughout the entire stay.Room was spotlessly clean and very comfortable.
Review 125:Bed too soft
Review 126:Spacious room Friendly helpful staff Quiet and secure hotel Good location next to TGI's Breakfast was good value Decor of room was very pleasant
Review 127:The promised breakfast box on Christmas morning never arrived. The girl on reception said that she didn't know where they were, but the girl on reception that night said that they were under the desk beside her!
Review 128:Good location for visiting our daughter. Hotel is clean, warm and comfortable. The breakfast at Frankie and Bennys next door was excellent.
Review 129:Second time I've stayed in this premier inn and it was just as good as the first time, lovely staff really helpful! Great room and very comfortable bed!
Review 130:Limited parking due to building work which wasn't advertised on website. Asked at 7am to move my car as I was blocking someone in despite being told to park there by reception.
Review 131:Really lovely and modern rooms and very helpful receptionist.
Review 132:We had a very disturbed first nights stay, due to noise from the room directly above. But the staff solved the problem very efficiently and reimbursed the cost of our room for that night
Review 133:The position of this hotel was perfect as a base for us visiting our daughters new home. The staff were very good and nothing seemed too much trouble.. Clean and very comfortable room.
