Reviews for Premier Inn Watford Central

Review 1:Room was cold. No heating. Asked for a potable heater which was made available 3hours later. Dining room was cold.there was no heating at all. I had to put winter coat, scarf to for dinner and breakfast.

Review 2:Re ception was good. Room was clean

Review 3:Upon arrival the staff member on the desk was speaking on the phone. Another staff member saw me but didn't acknowledge me as assumed I'd be dealt with by their colleague on the phone. The phone call ended and without a cursory look the staff member went and served someone at the bar. I wouldn't have minded if she'd said "I won't keep you a moment" but to not even acknowledge me was poor service. Eventually the other member of staff came and checked me in, again no apology for me waiting nearly 10 minutes to be seen.

Review 4:It was available at the last minute, and booked and arrived within an hour. The room was clean and spacious and location was ideal. The shower was great as I'd just come off a flight and had been travelling for nearly 24 hours.

Review 5:Maibtenence work was being carried out and the fire alarms went off a couple of times apart from that no problems!

Review 6:Everything felt new and well looked after the room was so comfy and the first thing we did after a long journey was got in to bed and watches TV. Felt very safe and you can tell they make a lot of effort to make sure you have a brilliant nights sleep. Such as the noise proof secondary window and the comfy bed.

Review 7:The room we booked, early into the evening went to relax to have a cuppa, turned the kettle on and the tv blew along with all the electrics in the room all the main lights worked but nothing else. Ran down waited at reception for 10mins before being seen. (As one lady was busy with customers) was told the main reception lady would be informed and would be sent to our room. Went back to our room waited 20mins, nothing! Went all the way back down stairs and the lady at reception had no clue so had not even been informed of the electrical problem in our room. There was no oh im really sorry about that, just do you mind changing rooms and could I run the old key card down once we had swapped rooms. This was a birthday suprise for my partner as we had spent the day in London, and just felt I'd spent at least an hour of my time running up and down and waiting around and just got no personality or a sorry from the staff they obviously don't communicate or care to much for the people they have staying in the hotel. my partner slept like a log me on the other hand was awake all night tossing and turning and sweating even though I had turned the room temp down (yes I could of opened window but then would have just been to cold) would be In two minds if I were to stay at that premiere in again.

Review 8:Breakfast I could not fault, staff lovely made sure we had all we needed informed us of what was available as had never been before and he was very well spoken. Breakfast was tasty and we'll presented

Review 9:No way to cool the temperature down in the room, without using the fan that was really noisey.

Review 10:The comfortable bed! Good night sleep, and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom. The welcoming, friendly and helpful staff members.

Review 11:i had a very bad experience with my staying in Premier Inn as i have request not to get room in the ground floor then i had given the worst room in the hotel (near the gate in front of the reception) which is very noisy room second i got a water problem during my first night in this room i have requested to refund my first night as mention every where in the hotel ( good night or your money back ) and also i have requested to shift me to another room my second request is done ( after initial rejection ) while i suffered a lot for my first request as everyone was telling ( no response , you have to wait to the manager , we are are not refunding the cash payment, call the customer service ) finally i called the customer service and they promise that my request will be processed and i will receive call to refunded the money but nothing is done

Review 12:the Location is near the market area

Review 13:Me and my partner had to wait an hour for our cooked breakfast! When it arrived half of it was cold and so was not worth the money! The continental section was always running out and not replaced quickly enough. The hotel was way understaffed to deal with the amount of people that were there.

Review 14:Good location, comfortable beds

Review 15:Approximately a 20 minute walk to Watford Junction, a bit much with 2 8 yr old children.

Review 16:Good bar & restaurant facilities. Tea & coffee making facilities in room. Very friendly and approachable staff. Tasty breakfast, although would prefer buffet style.

Review 17:Staff didn't seem to be on the same page as each other mix up breakfast sorry to say but one lady member staff especially unpleasant and sharp, not much customer care there. we have been to the same inn 3 times in the last two months she as there twice and had the same attitude then. they are having the Hotel rooms refitted and start at 8am , not great for hangovers if you have travelled for good entertainment!! Considering all the keep quiet signs there was no problem with overlaying, we were up with the workforce!!!!

Review 18:Bed was good breakfast was ok

Review 19:Fairly close to London but still took an hour on the train to get in. £3 parking charge to park in hotel's car park.

Review 20:Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast, good value. Comfy bed.

Review 21:the two nights we stayed with you's we were woken up with the noise from the room above and on the second morning they noise started at 5.45am.

Review 22:the staff were really nice and helpful

Review 23:Parking a joke £3 , beers expensive ,we had to rooms and the showers didn't work well in both but the lady on the desk did say they having a revamp on 12 October

Review 24:Breakfast ,and bed were good ,staff helpful

Review 25:Rooms were unbearably hot even with fans- couldn't sleep

Review 26:Easy access to Harry Potter studios which was purpose of our visit Staff friendly and helpful Good breakfast - plenty of choice and freshly cooked

Review 27:The room was hot at night so we opened a window and couldn't get to sleep because of the noises from the trains, a fan was provided but that was also fairly loud . It was also hard to find from the train station.

Review 28:The room was very clean and the staff were kind and pleasant to us.

Review 29:It sometimes seemed that not enough staff covering mealtimes breakfast and evening menu times. Resulting in confusion in orders - one couple waiting nearly an hour to realise their order had been missed and everyone else had their meals etc. Noise - although it clearly states on the entry doors to each floor (quiet zone) some people are quite happy to allow younger members of their family to run up and down the hallway at all times of the day and night and using the busy restaurant as a playground. I'm not anti-kids (have some of my own) just some consideration for staff and other guests.

Review 30:Staff were friendly rooms were clean and practical.

Review 31:one waitress made me feel very uncomfortable for not having breakfast but sitting with my family while they had theirs-( son is autistic) mentioned to helpful male reception staff who ensured this did not happen the next day . all other staff- very pleasant and helpful

Review 32:great location near town centre

Review 33:A bit harsh to say this but the food menu was a bit limited and the meal on our second evening was prepared better that on our first evening.

Review 34:All the staff we uncounted were excellent, they knew the area and how to get to all the attractions. They are a credit to the hotel. Excellent transport links for central London.

Review 35:Slept badly both nights we stayed due to the muggy heat and no aircon. Plus, as there was no phone in the room, we couldn't call down to reception to ask them to deal with the drunk (and very loud) man outside our door in the middle of the night. No hairdryer.

Review 36:The staff were lovely. Helpful, happy, chatty. The poor lady at dinner time was alone and rushed off her feet. Still smiled though. Exactly what you'd like to see as a customer. Great bed! Nice room. Close to the rail station and the WB Studios. And free WiFi.

Review 37:Friendly staff and clean comfy rooms ,this was our second visit and will be staying again soon .Short walk to train station and then it's only 20min train to Euston so it makes it a cheaper way to visit London

Review 38:Restaurant in evening was horrible. No point in menu as most things weren't available so no point in offer meal deals, very rushed Room cleaned but no towels!!!

Review 39:Breakfast and morning staff were amazing

Review 40:The price of the restrant were abit high for a family were as other premier inns i have stayed in have deals in the restrents on for ie 2 for £10 xxxx

Review 41:The staff were very friendly and helpfull and the room was very clean.

Review 42:Didn't have bad experience but feel could develope waiting area of perhaps area to just relax and have a drink

Review 43:Comfortable beds and spot less facilities with friendly staff

Review 44:Room was very warm and couldn't get it to a comfortable temp without opening the window. This then let in the loud road traffic noise.

Review 45:Facilities, room, breakfast & meals

Review 46:The staff on the busy Sunday night were excellent, very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Restaurant food was good, both at evening and breakfast Difinitely would stay again

Review 47:From checking in to checking out , everything was great . Staff were extremely helpful and informative about booking our evening meal there as we were going to the Harry Potter studios after checking in . On our return , we found that the kettle and TV weren't working and informed a member of the reception who instantly helped us to try and sort out the problem . She was unable to sort it out and we were moved to another room within 10 mins , much to the delight of our 6 year old son , as the new room overlooked the railway tracks at the front of the hotel . When we went for our evening meal , we decided to have a drink in the bar as we were slightly early. There was a happy hour between 5 and 7 , and the bar person offered to double up our drinks as it was BOGOF ,which i was not aware of, this was with less than 1 minute remaining before the offer finished !! Excellent nights sleep , topped off with a full English breakfast and pleasant and helpful staff . Would highly recommend this one , will definitely be staying here again .

Review 48:Temperature of rooms, unable to sleep as to hot and unable to adjust temp. Tired bathroom flooring coming up by the bath and mites around that area .

Review 49:Helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast

Review 50:The free wifi is not very good and there was no hair dryer in the room

Review 51:The staff were the friendliest and most helpful i have ever come across, the bed was comfy and the breakfast was nice.

Review 52:I have stayed at many hotels of this type around the country but I have to say that the staff at the Watford Premier Inn are the friendliest that I have had the pleasure to meet. I was there with my wife and two teenage daughters to visit the Harry Potter Studio Tour. Everyone we met from the check-in desk through to the restaurant team spoke to us and were interested in why we were there, etc. I would highly recommend staying here.

Review 53:Service on food very slow, waited hour and half for our food after ordering it. No bacon first morning for breakfast, all gone by nine! 3 phones to be charged, only 2 power points! room Would sleep 4 people, 3 stayed.

Review 54:Staff were very helpful and pleasant.

Review 55:The staff were superb, especially the young Pakistan man on reception ( on Wednesday morning)was a credit to the hotel and he did all he could to make our stay the good one that it was.

Review 56:I booked my room on booking.com but when i arrived then they didn't have me on the system and I had to pay extra and wait an hour they a room! I was not impressed at all

Review 57:Not convenient if like us, you don't drive as the walkway to the hotel is secluded and would be unsafe at night.

Review 58:The staff are always great in Premier inns and the place is always spotless. We eat at the hotel restaurants and the food is excellent and great value. Nothing is too much for the staff and I think in future I shall stick to staying in Premier Inns as other hotels for the price just do not compare.

Review 59:No bad experience!

Review 60:Friendly staff! Clean and comfy, which is what I wanted travelling with a 10month old! Excellent breakfast and all in a great location!

Review 61:The corridor is so loud you can hear everything that goes on outside, it wouldn't hurt to invest in a bit of sound proofing especially when everyone around us insisted on having all their conversations very loud at the entrances to their room. This made for a few wake up calls in the night and the wi-fi was so rubbish I had to stop using it because it was so unreliable

Review 62:The location was great, parking was free and breakfast was good

Review 63:There was no phone in the room so if I needed the smallest thing I had to keep going to the reception desk and that's a pain with a six month old baby. Also hate that the bed is on rollers.

Review 64:The staff where all brilliant and f&b staff are fantastic and really helpful especially steph and Damon.

Review 65:Nothing not to like

Review 66:Clean,very comfortable and felt safe. The staff were friendly without being "pushy" and answered any queries efficiently they had good knowledge of the area.

Review 67:The position of the tv could have been more central to the bed. Maybe even up on the wall seeing that the bed is quite high.

Review 68:The room was large and comfortable and so was the bed. The bathroom was spotless with a powerful shower. I'm quite picky but this hotel is definitely up there for me :)

Review 69:It was quite a distance from Watford junction train station, so take care if you are coming from that station. Hot breakfast items had to be ordered rather than available via buffet. The Internet connection was a little slow

Review 70:Clean rooms and friendly staff

Review 71:Room 125 is situated over the boiler room creating a constant noise throughout the night, having said this the staff were excellent in finding us another room but this could cause a problem if the hotel is fully booked.

Review 72:Extremely friendly and efficient staff. Large room with very comfortable beds and all necessary amenities. Great location for the centre of Watford with the added bonus of free parking.

Review 73:The hotel location was great, the staff were very friendly and helpful, they were happy to assist the customer and the food was amazing and great value for money.

Review 74:Having to pay for wifi is not great Premier Inn should offer this for free.

Review 75:I work away from home a lot. I've also stayed in a number of hotels in Watford and a number of premier inns across the country. What I LOVE about this place is the staff. They are by far the nicest staff I have ever had in a premier inn and it's what makes me come back and stay every time I'm working in Watford (which is weekly at the moment!). Rooms are typical premier inn. Haven't had dinner there but the continental breakfast is good. Free parking is also great.

Review 76:The hotel needs some TLC. There was mold on the baseboard by the tub. It just looked a bit worn. There were no toiletries provided except for shampoo/body wash combo dispensers. There was no business center for computer access. They had no maps of the area, although they had printed google maps to area locations; there was no DVD player with the very small TV. The twin room had one queen bed, and one miniature size twin bed that sat about 6 inches lower than the large bed. It came with only towels for 1 person. Even though all of these negatives exist, the welcoming attitudes of the staff members more than made up for it to make it a positive experience over all.

Review 77:All of the staff were very friendly and eager to help. The meals in the dining room were excellent and reasonably priced. It was quiet, even though it was near the motorway.

Review 78:No fridge in room. WiFi was very slow.

Review 79:Excellent friendly staff. Breakfast excellent. Very accommodating for my wife who is a coeliac. Quiet part of hotel set aside for families was great. Bathroom clean.

Review 80:Reported stubborn shower control as it leaked unless very strong force applied to rotate it. Told it would be fixed but still dripping on return

Review 81:Excellent central location within easy walking of Watford.

Review 82:Room was cold and thermostat wouldn't go above 23 degrees. Bathroom door wouldn't close without having to lock it. Kettle would not stop itself when boiling so was dangerous. Large wet patch on the floor by the desk/chair. Had to send back the salmon salad at dinner because it had almost no salmon, the lettuce was browning and it had be drenched in lemon, it was not nice. Also other guests and children were very loud in the hallway in the morning, not your fault but definitely impacted on our stay.

Review 83:Helpful staff Comfortable bed

Review 84:Nothing!

Review 85:The reception staff were welcoming and explained everything to us. We always know the standards Premier provide, but it was an addes bonus to have such good staff.thank you!

Review 86:Having to pay extra for wifi

Review 87:Excellent location and value. We were impressed by the cost and quality of both evening meal and breakfast. Less than 10 minutes drive from Harry Potter Studio Tour

Review 88:On arrival we were greeted with excellent customer service, our bedroom was made up with the required extra bed and there was enough pillows and towels for all of us - something that is not always a given in many hotel rooms. Breakfast was superb and excellent value for money.

Review 89:One chambermaid was very rude, shrugging her shoulders when I lost my purse Cracks/paint peeling on the walls and in the shower

Review 90:Staff were friendly and helpful as I lost my purse Bed was comfortable

Review 91:Reception challenged by them doing bar also, room over kitchen dustbins so pre-midnight din was a pain, ventilation system continuous over room so a continuous drone all night then breakfast lousy!

Review 92:Parking good, bed linen spotless and shower best in class

Review 93:We weren't told what time breakfast started or finished so were a little confused and had to go and find out but apart from that, faultless.

Review 94:We arrived to a more than welcoming and lovely staff member Tom who was very helpful. We were a bit worried about noise outside the room, as we stayed in a room next to the stair case but this didn't prove to be a problem at all. The bed was very comfy and had perfect pillows so a great night sleep was had. Breakfast was cooked to order which was nice as to a buffet style hot plate where the food could have been sitting there for some time. There was also plenty of selection for continental breakfast. Lovely stay, would definitely recommend.

Review 95:Nothing at all :)

Review 96:Location to both Watford High Street Station ....less than 8 minute slow walk. So very easy to pop into London with young family with a whirl on the London Eye. Good Staff Staff Very Helpful, great welcome, beds as always great. Good breakfast. Did I mention Good Staff. Thank you.

Review 97:I booked via bookings.com for 73 pounds with breakfast included - at the hotel, they somehow came to the conclusion that I should pay 82 pounds. Staff talking about their toilet visits in front of guests. Lost my colleagues reservation but found in another computer - chaos - strangely enough my colleague only had to pay 73 pounds ! Wifi not working on mobile devices - useless. Having to pay for Wifi - really not customer friendly. Breakfast... food did not taste fresh and not prepared well (sausages, fruit salade). Staff had an attitude that if something was wrong or customer unhappy, staff could not be blamed - no excuses. Very loud in rooms - I could hear neighbors and people walking through the corridor. To me, this is the Ryan Air of hotels and I will not return.

Review 98:Bathroom a bit mouldy - extract fan not working might explain this. Location was little bit too far from Watford junction station

Review 99:The staff The bed The breakfast

Review 100:My room was very quiet, despite there being busy roads on both sides of the hotel. Dinner was good value and well presented. The cooked breakfast was excellent and piping hot.

Review 101:The restaurant is a bit on the small side at busy times. We had quite a long wait one of the mornings to be seated for breakfast and coudnt get a booking for an evening meal one night until late.

Review 102:Exceptional staff!

Review 103:Coming home!!

Review 104:We were greeted at Reception by the lovely Judy, who remembered us from our previous stay. The rooms were lovely and clean, comfy beds, nice bar area with friendly staff, and the breakfast was amazing, all you could eat served by friendly waiters/waitresses.

Review 105:You have to pay for wifi. And it only worked on one device. Maybe change that you pay per room so all guests staying in the room can access the wifi

Review 106:We stayed here while visiting harry potter. Ideal location hotel only 10 mins taxi to warner bros studios or 5 mins in taxi to watford junction to get the bus. Very friendly and helpful staff. Food was fabulous. Hotel room was clean and very comfortable. Hotel is only minites walk from large shopping centres and main street. Would definitely stay here again. Excellent value for money

Review 107:Would have preferred individual toiletries. Thought the on wall dispensers cheapened the overall image of the room, but probably more cost effective.

Review 108:Great staff, all very friendly and helpful. Nothing too much trouble for them. First hotel I have stayed in were the staff actually make eye contact, smile, and ask how your are, have you had a good day. Lovely hot breakfast and served at your table, and a great deal offer with evening meal which was excellent. Warm comfortable room, bed and pillows excellent.Tea making facilities much appreciated! No noise at all even though they were busy. Short walk to station which was very handy for trips into the City and surrounding areas.

Review 109:Nothing

Review 110:I liked being able to escape the building work in my house and enjoy the luxury of a clean comfy room. It was a delight to be able to have a meal and a drink served by friendly helpful staff.

Review 111:Heavy footed person in the room above banging about (shame) not your fault.

Review 112:The staff were most helpful, the meal deal evening meal was excellent and nicely cooked, the breakfast was individualy cooked (no bullet eggs). Would recommend to family and friends.

Review 113:The staff smoked directly outside of my room so the room stinker of cigarettes, they moved our room to another which had two single rooms pushed together so my partner and I had to sleep separately as we kept falling down the gap

Review 114:The staff were approachable

Review 115:Service at breakfast very bad on the Monday morning. We were 40 mins waiting for cooked breakfast and we had to wait for clean bowls and cups. There wasn't enough staff on that morning

Review 116:Rooms

Review 117:Could have done with a few more teabags but happy to give more when asked

Review 118:Close to Watford shopping centre Only 10 minutes from Harry Potter studio very peaceful

Review 119:Bath tub very slip prone. No phone contact with reception or anyone else from the room. No air condition, not even a fan. POOR housekeeping, had to ask for toilet paper and bath towel.

Review 120:Very little

Review 121:Rooms were clean and comfortable. Location was excellent for the tube to the Capital. Staff were polite and very helpful. We will definitely stay at this hotel again.

Review 122:The room smells like a hospital , carpets are old and felt like I am staying in a hospital rather than in hotel . I was disappointed . Should renovate and upgrade the rooms .

Review 123:Staff was friendly

Review 124:First night was located in a room that was meant for the disabled - in our opinion that room was not suitable for either the abled or the disabled for the following reasons - the bed was very low and creaky; the grab rail by the toilet was too close for comfort; around the bath, there were too many grab rails, including one at the top of the bath where you could bang your head if you were to lie in the bath; the door of the bathroom was heavy and did not slide smoothly and even for able bodied persons it was difficult to manoeuvre the door. We were glad to move to another room on the following day. On one of the nights, we were disturbed by the creaky floorboards of the room above where one guest was pacing up and down the room during the night for some considerable time (over 2 hours).

Review 125:As above: (a) staff were excellent, responsive and had a good demeanour; (b) overall breakfast service was very satisfying; plus (c) the location of the hotel ticked most of the boxes for us.

Review 126:Everything was perfect

Review 127:I liked the very helpfull friendly cheerfull staff and the hotel was very comtable clean relaxing and had all you need. We love it thank you for making our stay so welcoming and comtable and it had a massive tesco 5 min away opened 24 hours which was handy Thank you once again guys

Review 128:Room was a little warm and you cant turn it down yourself

Review 129:Staff were very attentive and welcoming nothing too much trouble Rooms clean and conformable

Review 130:What we were offered was one room with one twin bed and two smal beds for two children. At the end there was no space in the room, so we had to get one child bed taken out. It was very uncomfortable 7 days stay for us.Very small room for two adults and two kids No internal telephon in rooms which will couse a great risk in case of emergency. No hair dryer although there was plug for it. Charging daily for no-cost Wi-Fi is very ironic. No proper daily cleaning.

Review 131:Only staff was friendly.

Review 132:Inadequate lighting for Wifes makeup also poor lighting in Bathroom for shaving. Downlighters not the best form of lighting but no doubt the cheapest!

Review 133:Bed very comfortable, room OK except for lighting. Friendly staff.

Review 134:Leaving

Review 135:My wife and 2 small children found the service of staff, quality of food and all round atmosphere superb and thanks to chef for doing special pepperoni and tomato pizza for my son

Review 136:poor sound insulation between rooms, heard person upstairs pacing the floor late at night and from 6 am onwards, and receiving texts through the night
