Reviews for Finikas Hotel

Review 1:Americanized food. A bit generic feel. But still a great big buffet for breakfast!

Review 2:Very beautiful location. Lovely pool. Facilities. Staff were very friendly

Review 3:Enjoyed the ambiance and decor. relaxed and quiet. Clean hotel with fantastic staff on board. Right on the beach! From reception to restaurant and ground staff, every one was absolutely polite, friendly and attentive. Dimitri was super awesome made our stay even more enjoyable. We missed everyone and hope to return one day!

Review 4:Good place for relaxing, but not for active trips.

Review 5:Beautiful territory with swimming pool and 800 years old tree. Private beach without people. Huge room. There are buses that goes to Hora. Friendful stuff.

Review 6:Very nice staff, always at your disposal to help. We were for our honeymoon, and they offered us an upgrate to a suite. This place is absolutely cool to enjoy. The beach juste on front of the hotel gives the feeling to be completely relax.

Review 7:Not close to anything else (need car) Bed was not very comfortable (too firm) Kept dropping Wi-Fi connection

Review 8:On site restaurant was excellent Great staff Good value

Review 9:Very windy sometimes. Not all rooms live up to the photos presented on the web. Rooms seem smaller than described (not 30 m2).

Review 10:Very nice hotel, friendly and helpful staff, clean and well-maintained premises. Nice breakfast, partly served to the table, great atmosphere. This hotel has character, great to be here.

Review 11:The slow WiFi. Needed more variety of healthy food choices. Length of time awaiting cocktails - perhaps more staff would help.

Review 12:Quality of accommodation. Quality and friendliness of staff. Secluded location.

Review 13:Menu could be more 'authentic' Greek, pool was too acidic/salty - so burned the eyes, showers in the bathroom - so tiny for such a big bathroom!

Review 14:The staff were all excellent - so helpful and accommodating; the food was great, especially the breakfast; nice clean rooms; lovely setting - away from the crowds

Review 15:Only a small suggestion but would like to see a powerpoint in the bathroom along with a corner shelf in the shower to put shampoo etc. on rather than on the shower floor.

Review 16:Finikas Beach Hotel is an absolutely fantastic, small, beach front hotel on Naxos Island. From the greeting by Dimitrios at reception to our leaving everything was wonderful. On arrival we were offered a cool drink and then Dimitrios sat down with us and spent about an hour going over a map and suggestions of things to do during our stay. Our room was very large, immaculately clean and had a great view of the pool and ocean. All the staff are very friendly and speak English (which was a bonus since I don't speak Greek - lazy me) and nothing was any trouble. Breakfast was included and provided a variety of foods. The grounds of the hotel are also lovely and the landscaping gives a tropical feeling. We were even contacted by the hotel about a week before our arrival to confirm our booking and also offer information on car hire, which offer we took up. All easily done via email and the car waiting for us at Naxos airport on our arrival. I would not hesitate to recommend the hotel and look forward to another visit in the future.

Review 17:Beautiful setting by the beach, with several other nice beaches just a short drive away. We enjoyed the beautiful salt water pool and had some lovely dinners outside in the evening, hearing the ocean breeze. There is a sauna and jacuzzi there too which was very nice.

Review 18:The 2nd bedroom of Finikas Suite is pretty small and provides 2 rather "basic" beds, so if you´re tall or need more private space in each room consider booking 2 doubles instead. The terrace made it up, anyway.

Review 19:We´ve booked the Finikas Suite for 4 people which is a good deal, especially because of the huge private terrace. The hotel setting is very nice and calm, you will need a car to get around. The hotel itself is very well maintained and clean. Pool facilities (salt water!) are excellent. Staff is great and very helpful. Very good breakfast and coffee. Glyfada beach is a 2-3 mins drive away and perfect for swimming. Try out Faros Taverna nearby for delicious local food.

Review 20:The decoration of the room could have been better with a few changes and I would appreciate a bigger bed.

Review 21:Great location, amazing staff, a friendly and unpretentious place with a good range of facilities for any time of the day.

Review 22:Again,the destination is a bit disappointing when you first arrive because we fell very lonely in the middle of nowhere, but of course it was raining….for a quiet holiday as honeymooners or with a small family,it is perfect!

Review 23:The quality of the hotel, the kindness of the employees and finally, the owners that we met felt like family! the breakfast was a treat and such a nice way of starting the day! unfortunately, the weather was not always great so we felt a little far to move around, but otherwise….perfect!

Review 24:Location, near to beautiful unspoilt, uncrowned beeches that could be reached through a lovely walk via a cedar forest. Staff exceptional. Off the beaten track. Very quiet. Perfect if you want to get away from it all A very special place.

Review 25:- note that it's a salt water pool - we would definitely recommend a rental car because bus connection is quite poor

Review 26:- very nice staff, everything was perfectly prepared for us - beautifully located off the main tourist spots - very close to the beach, pool is wonderful and clear

Review 27:Do rent a car if you're staying here. It is 25 min from Naxos town. Rooms on the islands are on the smaller side but the room was by no means small.

Review 28:The team are professional and friendly. Food is excellent, not traditional Greek cuisine but really very good. Breakfast was great. Across the road from a beach (average) but awesome beach 3 min walk aware. Reception and restaurant team - just great people. Really pleased with our choice.

Review 29:We did not like the use of electronic/techno music in the bar and restaurant area, which also bled over into the pool area (the long, underlying and repetitive low frequency bass and drum sounds echoing off the three surrounding walls), when nature provides a far superior sound track. When music is called for, a selection of recorded acoustic music (as opposed to computer-generated music) would be more classy, and more in keeping with the quality of the hotel (with the bass turned down, that is).

Review 30:Staff was very nice, very professional and very attentive to the guests. We loved the salt water pool and a beautiful, quiet, sandy beach is very close. The owners are present, very welcoming and very involved in the day-to-day operations. The hotel is mostly very quiet, and we found the guests also mostly quiet and generally very considerate of other guests.

Review 31:Gym very far from main town

Review 32:Resort style facilities Friendly staff and good service Cocktail bar near pool Swimming pool Small boutique nature of hotel

Review 33:Restaurant is a bit oversold as a quasi-gastronomical place. Good but not phenomenal (however, fresh fish caught by one of the staff is served every dinner).

Review 34:Great staff Great pool and across the street from the beach Quiet part of the island, very close to more secluded beaches of Aliko and Pyrgaki.

Review 35:We stayed at Finikas for 8 days, extending our stay as we liked it so much. The staff and the location made out trip, the staff were professional but personable and a pleasure to chat with, and the location is well away from the main town, a short walk from some more unspoilt/private beaches in the cra far forest. Just watch the wind! If you walk up the road to the right of the hotel there's a beautiful taverna called faros which serves beautiful food with a sunset view and can give tips on which beaches are best dependent on the wind.

Review 36:Not enough variey in the menu

Review 37:Amazing location beautiful beaches, amazing staff. Good food, very nice rooms

Review 38:Wind

Review 39:Staff & Setup

Review 40:Staff was wonderful. Clean. Off the beaten path which was nice. Great beaches nearby. Would highly recommend to anyone.

Review 41:Great pool area, great restaurant, prefect cleanliness.

Review 42:TV didn't work. Wifi was iffy. Little bit too remote

Review 43:Restaurant food

Review 44:Remote and away from town and cute restaurants. You need a car

Review 45:Great breakfast

Review 46:Very helpful and friendly staff. Peaceful location and the hotel was immaculate. Very nice restaurant and lovely hardworking staff.

Review 47:staff was very friendly and helpful great room lovely facilities

Review 48:pool, food.

Review 49:Management handling of a noisy group at the hotel when we were there

Review 50:The beautiful location and friendliness of staff

Review 51:Confort in the rooms... We asked for 2 single beds and got a double bed and a bed for kid

Review 52:Location, far from the Town, food, swimming pool, staff

Review 53:Restaurant menu is somewhat limited. Closest beaches are not ideal for swimming. Given remote location, car is essential to eat elsewhere and explore the island. The A/C in our suite didn't work for part of our stay, though the staff comped us a nice meal (with wine) to compensate.

Review 54:Staff was extremely nice and more than willing to help with any requests (e.g. taxis, car rental). Property is well taken care of, rooms are clean. Restaurant on site is good, though menu is somewhat limited. Remote location far removed from the bustle of the city.

Review 55:Navigating unmarked Greek roads at night is challenging! Get therebefore sundown. Restaurant had a range of price points but not a largeselection. Good for a few meals but check the local options too

Review 56:Loved the quiet and relaxing location with secret beaches nearby. Staffwas very attentive and knew each guest

Review 57:The location is nice and very relaxing, but if you want to discover the island it is a bit far away from Naxos town.

Review 58:Everything was excellent! All the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, clean and well maintained. The restaurant was good, enjoyed eating there. The pool and other facilities were clean and well maintained. There are some really nice and quiet beaches around.

Review 59:The only thing is that the hotel is quite a way away from civilisation. This is also an advantage. It was really unseasonally windy when we were there, might have been like this everywhere.

Review 60:Staff were FABULOUS. Deserted beaches on our doorstop, moonrise over the mountain, quiet, lovely pool area, small supermarket next door.

Review 61:- We personally loved the quiet location, but if you're looking for a party spot this isn't it.

Review 62:- Right on the beach!- Dimitrios was the best! - Great tips on what to do! - Next to gorgeous, quiet beaches and an abandoned hotel! - True booking.com moment where we turned down a dirt road away from the beach, only to reveal a nice beach and the beautiful hotel

Review 63:We are a couple in the mid-twenties and stayed 7 nights at the end of june. It is located in the south of Naxos in a very calm environment with a wonderful view at the sea.Overall experience:If you are searching for a calm, truly beautiful and close to nature holiday for relaxation, this is the place to be!Getting there:We went to Mykonos by plane and then taking a Ferry to Naxos (approximately 45 minutes). From Naxos port we went to Finikas by car, which we had rented in advance. It takes about 30 minutes from the port to Finikas. We really recommend renting a car, as it is very useful to get around to see the other (wonderful!) beaches and villages. Additionally, the fares are fair and there is no public transport apart from taxis.Atmosphere:Extremely welcoming! When we arrived, the manager welcomed us super friendly with a little refreshment (the local Liqueur), giving us a great introduction on the island: the different beaches, villages, restaurants etc.Later on, he was really helpful in organizing a trip to Koufonisia, a small Island close to Naxos. The whole staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful, creating a really comfortable atmosphere! This contributes a lot to overall experience here!Value for money:For the food the value for money is very good. The products are all local and of good quality. The breakfast could offer a bit more variety. However, here again products are all sourced locally which naturally means some limitation in variety. As we stayed seven days and were mostly eating in the Hotelrestaurant (both lunch and dinner), after a few days we had tried almost the whole menu more than once. But that´s the case in many places and the hotel manager gave us a lot of options for other good restaurants/taverns which we just didn't visit.Furthermore, there is a small supermarket (taverna) next to the hotel, which provides you with most things you could need, such as umbrellas, water, food and everything you need for the beach.

Review 64:No wifi in rooms

Review 65:Remote location away from noise and party crowd, empty beach on yourdoorstep, excellent food, super clean saltwater pool, friendlyhelpful staff

Review 66:The restaurant was not of a standard which would support the hotel.

Review 67:The Manager Dimitrius was extremely informative, polite, attentive and interesting. The hotel surpassed our expectation. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Review 68:We were sorry not to see fresh fish on the menu for dinner

Review 69:very pleasant and relaxing, helpful and cheerful staff well led by the excellent manager, beautiful setting, excellent breakfast

Review 70:If you are only going to lie by the pool/beach fine but the hotel is very remote. A car is a must if you don't want to feel isolated.

Review 71:Very warm welcome and lots of information about the island provided. Friendly staff. Nice breakfast - fresh orange juice and eggs cooked to order. As well as the pool there are a number of secluded sandy beaches within walking distance.

Review 72:Beautiful setting. Great package.

Review 73:Loved the low key, quiet location and the beautiful secluded beaches with walking distance from the front door.

Review 74:Slow internet

Review 75:Quiet and low key

Review 76:No tea and coffee making facilities in the room.

Review 77:Perfect location for a quiet vacation.

Review 78:No snack menu (e.g. if you don't want a big lunch)

Review 79:Location, quiet beaches, not v touristy, great food, friendly staff, good pool, bikes to hire

Review 80:Pretentious Anxious staff Location Poor service in restaurant Food in restaurant - evening meals Smell of desperation

Review 81:Comfortable rooms

Review 82:the staff is really friendly, always try to help and feel you comfortable

Review 83:Fantastic welcome by the manager. Service of all the team was also spot on.

Review 84:Too much american style
