Reviews for Claremont House

Review 1:Our room was really warm we turned the radiators off and opened the window and still very warm I think our room was located above the kitchen.

Review 2:The location was perfect as we were visiting my brother who lives in Saundersfoot

Review 3:Owners/staff were lovely, very friendly, room was very spacious, clean, comfortable. Location ideal, short stroll from centre. Breakfast was great. If we visit that area again we will definately book to stay at Claremont House, perfect.

Review 4:The only minor flaw was it's location at the TOP of St. Bride's Hill, which made returning from Saundersfoot a bit of a strenuous hike.

Review 5:Warm, comfortable bedroom and excellent dining room. Guest Lounge was very comfortable and accessible. Service and food were superb.

Review 6:Loft room with sea view full of bunk beds felt like a hostel, double bed was fine , room needs to be made more comfortable, i.e. carpet and remove all the bunks and cots to give access to the tv and wardrobe otherwise fine. This is not a complaint just an observation .

Review 7:Good quality and choice of breakfast, lots of parking space.

Review 8:Sue could not have been more helpful and accommodating to us, we had 4 rooms all of which were above our expectations with stunning sea views, great location, great parking, walking distance to beach & I would stay there again and highly recommend.

Review 9:Not enough parking space, room too small. Ridiculous charging extra £20 for 2 people using a double room - order a double room £55, when check in, they said u had 2 people, u had to pay extra £20.

Review 10:Let customers use their downstairs toilet even after check out. Thk u for that.

Review 11:A bit noisy from the room above

Review 12:Nice welcome very helpful, great location, excellent breakfast.I asked for flowers and chocolates for my wife's birthday, nothing was too much trouble.

Review 13:Not a powerful shower

Review 14:Very comfortable bed in a nice large room with view of sea over roof-tops and trees. Delicious fresh fruit salad was available at breakfast.

Review 15:Stayed here for Ironman Cymru... the staff were really helpful with my bizarre early morning starts, etc. Would definitely consider using it for short breaks to the area with my family. Breakfast is brilliant.

Review 16:The TV was so high you got neckache ...unless you Sat in bed to watch.!the bathroom was very narrow..between sink and radiator..this was very hot .

Review 17:The room was bright..large and bed comfy. Breakfast was very good..good choice..the lady who served was a pleasant person.

Review 18:Stayed in the puffin suite which was excellent. Was worth paying a bit more for such a lovely spacious room. Spotlessly clean. Excellent with own entrance. Fabulous wet room with under floor heating. Made our short break. Breakfast was excellent and all staff lovely. Would definitely stay in the puffin suite again.

Review 19:Our bed sheet didn't fit the double bed was unable to go over the Conor's of the mattress. This was the only bad point and did stop me sleeping.

Review 20:We had a fantastic stay very up to date and clean breakfast was good . The view was fantastic.

Review 21:Room up 2 flights of stairs and very small TV up high and tiny hard to view not a problem for us as hardly in room and fit enough to climb stairs.

Review 22:Liked location we found hill no problem but would be if any disability breakfast excellant.

Review 23:Sorry the room was disappointing for £130! 2 teenagers in bunk beds not ideal. The lack of cupboard shelf space to put any toiletries anywhere! They went in the bathroom floor. We didn't need or want a disabled facility which I can see on your website costs £15 more! The thunder of elephants noise above from early in the morning as we were effectively in the basement

Review 24:The greeting at reception and the breakfast

Review 25:The suite we had was perfect for a family of 5, and the kids loved the sea view. Being within 5 minutes walking distance of the beach and restaurants was also very handy.

Review 26:Wardrobe in room was in awkward place and very small so no good for family staying any more than a couple of nights. Sofa was on casters and floor was laminate so it slid every time we sat on it - not too good for my elderly father who has just had a hip op, although room was for disabled use. Room was below dining room/kitchen so could hear people walking about/moving things from about 8am. Whilst sat in dining room, I thought the people above were about to land on our table after hearing them walking above and, as the waitress said, jumping off the bunk beds!

Review 27:The staff were very friendly & helpful, the hotel was spotlessley clean and the breakfast was lovely. Our family room was spacious and had everything we needed. Wetroom was huge! Great to have parking just outside the door on the flat. Good location just above the town.

Review 28:Check in was from 3pm we arrived at 3.30pm and had to wait whilst our room was being cleaned

Review 29:The rooms were plenty big enough for the 4 of us there was a dvd player and tv in the room we had a seating area as well. Showers were lovely. Breakfast and staff were all lovely woyld definitely stay here again.

Review 30:There was a cobweb in bathroom but nothing major.

Review 31:The location was good and the views from the bedroom were good. Nice clean comfortable room. Good Breakfast.

Review 32:It would have been nice to have a large communal lounge but space dictates

Review 33:Very friendly staff we were made most welcome. Clean and well presented bedroom room and breakfast room. Would stay again

Review 34:I booked this very last minute. We stayed in the puffin suite and it was spacious. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Very accommodating staff. The breakfast was brilliant in the morning and so close to many amenities.

Review 35:Very disappointed with Wi-Fi quality and this seems to be a problem with even large hotels, personally I would prefer to pay extra and get good Wi-Fi.

Review 36:Very clean. excellent breakfast and nice staff. Would definitely book again.

Review 37:The mattress was comfy but the bed did not seem that sturdy. You could hear the staff in the restaurant early in the morning as it was above our room but we still enjoyed our stay

Review 38:The staff were friendly, the room was great and spacious and the location was ideal to walk into the town.

Review 39:family room on top floor not good we thought herd of elephants were staying it was ridicules 11pm till 12pm bang bang bang along the floor above us

Review 40:lovely welcome friendly staff and beautiful breakfast

Review 41:The staff were very friendly and breakfast was excellent. The location was very pretty and although the accommodation was at the top of the hill, it provided a very picturesque view from the top across the harbour and beach. Our family room was clean and spacious but the double bed mattress wasn't very comfortable. Other than that we had a lovely stay.

Review 42:We were in the top of the house so Wifi signal was not great but there are downstairs spaces to use so was not a problem!

Review 43:Incredibly accommodating staff, who provided early breakfast and helped us out with all other requests.

Review 44:On a personal note the breakfast needed more variety and a full Welsh breakfast proved too much every day! The bacon was like gammon and not to my liking....I'm a thin and crispy person!! Kippers would have been good.

Review 45:Very clean hotel with wonderful views. Staff were very polite and friendly. Ideal location for our trip, situated close to Saundersfoot and a short drive to Tenby. I'd probably use the hotel again.

Review 46:It's easy to bump your head as it is loft room, ceiling is low in many areas, wifi is not strong.

Review 47:Room was stylishly yet simply decorated with traditional old features.

Review 48:no bad experience but the bed could have been more comfortable

Review 49:Breakfast was fab, location was fab, and overall it was a very nice place. The staff were very nice.

Review 50:The windowless ground floor room was very dark and completely unaided by inadequate and poorly placed lights. The glazed door offered very little light and had to be kept shut due to pavement only feet away so the room was stuffy and humid after showering. The aptly named "Puffin" room, in fact, felt more like a burrow than suitable holiday accommodation.

Review 51:Breakfast was excellent. Proximity to Saundersfoot great, just a 5 minute walk.

Review 52:Beautiful room with window seat and stunning views. Comfy beds, all very clean. Really good breakfast. The owner is a lovely lady. My kids loved the room. Only ten minute walk from the beach too.

Review 53:Nothing really bad to report except WiFi weak in the room. Pretty good in hotel lobby and waiting area.

Review 54:Very clean, well equipped room.Perfect breakfast served by friendly staff. Would definitely use again!

Review 55:our breakfast was a bit cold, but the service was friendly and efficient. The phone signal isn't great, so having wi-fi available in the rooms would have been helpful.

Review 56:The location is perfect for exploring Saundersfoot, and walking distance from the main town (although on a steep hill!). The rooms were very clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.

Review 57:The room and bathroom were a little cramped, o.k for one night but a longer stay would have been uncomfortable.

Review 58:The staff were very friendly, the location was excellent, the hotel was very clean, plenty of parking space, good breakfast.

Review 59:Paid extra for sea view-could just about see it in the far distance. Our room was very small and tight-one double bed just about fitted in!

Review 60:Staff very helpful, breakfasts were excellent, and location is good.

Review 61:Room 7 we had very small not much room at all to move even in and out of bed, coffee making facilities on the dressing table hard work! Also the rooms were very dated with blue and lemon deco and artex in the walls.

Review 62:Breakfast was lovely and staff that we seen were helpfull

Review 63:The hosts were wonderful, helpful and went out of their way to make out stay a great one. They lent books to us, gave sightseeing suggestions and made restaurant recommendations. They were delightful. We very highly recommend their Bed and Breakfast.

Review 64:We enjoyed our stay at Claremont House, the room was lovely with plenty of space for a family of four. We couldn't have asked for more from the staff who were very accommodating and friendly. We would highly recommended.

Review 65:The ceiling developed a leak when the shower was being used upstairs, but no-one came to look when my husband informed the staff. Not a major problem - just needs a bit of TLC to address the issue.

Review 66:Lovely staff, we were even told we could bring our 4yr old son downstairs early if he was awake before breakfast! The hotel catered for all our needs. Location to the town is spot on -it was good value for money.

Review 67:The staff very friendly upgraded our room to sea view breakfast was fantastic everything was catered for to give you a great start to the day and even though it was busy at breakfast the staff was on hand for coffee top ups more toast etc

Review 68:Lack of presence of staff. Hotel is closed up at 22:00 and re-openned at 8:30. Until then, you're on your own! Doors and floors noisy, imagine this would be an issue if more rooms were occupied.

Review 69:Very convenient for Saundersfoot. Plenty of parking, free WiFi and clean functional room.

Review 70:I had a double room with sea view. The room was pretty tiny and it was very cramped trying to squeeze past my partner in my room when getting ready. We could see the sea but wouldn't really describe it is as sea view. It was difficult to get the right temperature in the shower. I guess it was good value still being so close to the center of Saundersfoot.

Review 71:The location was great, close to the centre of Saundersfoot. The breakfast was good and the staff friendly.

Review 72:There is a paved hill to climb back to the Hotel but it wasn't a problem for me and lots of B&B and Hotels are based up this hill.

Review 73:Sea View from the Window, Great location close to beautiful harbour and beach. Very friendly staff. Very clean.

Review 74:Incredibly noisy - loud guests in other rooms - walls paper thin and noisy water pumps and bathroom fans meant we heard all that was going on in other rooms late into the night and early morning..

Review 75:Size or room, facilities and comfort of room.

Review 76:Very small double room, containing two single beds one very narrow (does say on Web site) the other against the wall. No room to walk round beds, very cramped. Broken shower hose, (reported) extremely filthy extractor fan in bathroom (Owner notified) which was tiny. We were offered move to family room which was much better, shower still needed attention, door stuck, black gunge on bottom of doors. Large 6ft bed, nice and comfortable, bedding clean. Double bunks of which one had screw sticking out. Babies cot adjacent to window which had no 'stay' on it to disable opening very wide. No room in bathroom to to bath small child or children, only a shower, not that this affected us however. Cleaning and DIY need urgent attention. All decor very 50's!

Review 77:Pleasant lady, quite helpful. We booked at short notice and had the only double room left available.

Review 78:Wifi signal weak in the room

Review 79:Well kept and looked after, very clean with underfloor heating in the wet room. Excellent facilities and space in the family room. We stayed in the ground floor puffin suite which had our own door to outside. Quality breakfast.

Review 80:The very tiny room, definitely not value for the cost. The free wifi didn't work. Very little attention to detail. I would not recommend this place to people I like. A few simple changes would probably reap rewards for the owners, like not trying to make a double room out of a clearly single room. Try charging a suitable fee, not an extortionate one.

Review 81:The breakfast was nice.

Review 82:I accidentally booked a twin, wanting a dble, I called during the week & asked if there would be extra cost is I was able to change, no extra cost but no dbl room-fine! On my arrival was then offered a dbl room for an extra £20, also ok fine! The room was tiny, poor wifi & wehad to fix the TV Ariel to be able to view (not that we wanted much TV) so didn't mention it. When going out for a day I was told by a memes of staff not to lock my door as she was checking in there to give clean towels & if I locked it she had a key anyway! Ok left it unlocked, on our return no clean towels nothing except she had shook my duvet & covered the bed? I didn't see the point? I was only there 2 days anyway?

Review 83:I love saundersfoot & was just happy to be there.

Review 84:We stayed in the Monkstone suite which is an attic room. Found that it did allow noise in from the room below and were woken on the first morning by the sound of excited children. The stair climb could prove problematic to anyone physically impaired. In the suite there was no WiFi access

Review 85:Very attentive staff, the cleanliness of the hotel, top quality breakfast

Review 86:This is in no way a complaint but the shower was not very powerful. However the bathroom itself was very clean and more than suitable.

Review 87:Location was excellent, very family friendly, in particular the lady who severed breakfast.Family room was very spacious with a lovely view.

Review 88:the only downside was the double bed could have been wider. We appreciate you are tied for space but we felt very cramped in bed.

Review 89:On the whole it was very good. V. good selection at breakfast.

Review 90:Free wifi was almost none existent, only available in the reception area. While it had all the basics, that was all it had. Perfect for a nice trip away if you're not looking for anything fancy and just the essentials, but not suited if you have higher expectations (very old TV, no bath, small shower, bad wifi). Also very small rooms, but not so small that it's a big inconvenience.

Review 91:Fantastic location, 0.2 miles from the beach. Lovely staff, everything was clean and tidy. Has all the basics. Lovely breakfast.

Review 92:As we had top room we couldn't get wifi , but didn't really matter as it was nice to have a break away from internet

Review 93:Excellent room with great views

Review 94:room number 6 we were in - the door at the top of the stairs with closer on kept banging into our wall. Woke us up on several occasions... Also not a double bed but 3/4 bed. Felt small!

Review 95:loved the staff. Very friendly. Breakfast gorgeous and perfect!

Review 96:We stay at Claremont for 1 night the overall experience was very good. Can't really find anything bad to say about it. Bedroom was clean and very roomy. View was good from our room. Bed was very comfortable. Kids didn't complain either. Breakfast was good, wide selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurts and fruit juice.

Review 97:The twin room, although very clean and well equipped, was a bit cramped - possibly due to large items of furniture.

Review 98:Almost everything, particularly the friendliness and care from the staff. We were even greeted with a smile when we arrived at 2.00am from the Pembroke ferry!

Review 99:The room was disappointingly small. There were several cobwebs with 2 huge spiders sharing the room with us. There was a lot of dust. Honestly expected better after reading previous reviews.

Review 100:The staff serving breakfast were helpful and polite and always had a smile on their faces

Review 101:Could not find fault with any part of our stay.

Review 102:Was racing at IM Wales and couldn't have been made more welcome. 4 am breakfast on race day was amazing!

Review 103:would have liked breakfast to be served until 9.45. would have liked hot chocolate available in room.

Review 104:food was good quality parking was easy. could come and go as I wished.

Review 105:Nothing to dislike.

Review 106:Yet again fantastic welcome from sue lovely room lovely breakfast, smiley staff. Probably one of the best b an b's in saundersfoot.

Review 107:There is nothing to say on this one

Review 108:The hotel was the best we have ever stayed in we was given a very warm welcome the rooms was big and bright I would recommend to all my freinds and family well worth the money will be going back

Review 109:The quality of the single beds was poor compared to the double and I think we had a partying herd of elephants in the room above us, who seemed to run around constantly until the early hours. Soundproofing not the best.

Review 110:We had a family room with a kitchenette, which was roomy and quite well kitted out. Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast average. Lots of stuff for yng children around the nice garden and the indoor pool a real bonus.

Review 111:no problem for us but some rooms involve climbing several flights of stairs - if this is a problem request a lower floor

Review 112:Big old Victorian house but nice bathroom sheets etc roomy bedrooms Higher rooms have nice views of sea generous traditional breakfast with veggie options

Review 113:Excellent view and location. Friendly, warm feel. Very clean. Superb rooms and in the case of the one we stayed in, and outstanding view of the bay. Great breakfasts and very nice dining room in which to take it. Very good information on whats going on locally, with maps and directions. Thoroughly recommended.

Review 114:The hotel is beautifully set out, very friendly helpful staff. A nice walk to the harbour and shops, be ready for the hill climb on the way back! We wpuld definately stay here again.

Review 115:Full welsh breakfast could have been of better quality, but can't really complain given price.

Review 116:Comfortable, clean, spacious room with double bed, and two bunk sets of bunk beds adequate for our teenagers. Ensuite shower room, TV and sea view. Only stayed a night, but could have spent week. Slept us five for £130 including breakfast. Great value for money.

Review 117:small television very high up in corner would have been better flat screen on wall more on upstairs floor kids kept scrapping floor with chairs

Review 118:breakfast excellent bathroom excellent parking on site

Review 119:Nothing to be honest with many + and zero -.

Review 120:Staff: Excellent and extremely helpful indeed. Made you feel at home and relaxed with their very happy and pleasant disposition etc; Food: Breakfast 1st Class. and the staff always ready to ask if all Ok and if we wanted more coffee, tea, toast, etc; Room: Very comfortable indeed with ample room and a shower room and wash basin clean with room also to move. Local Envinronment: Quite close to the harbour and beach also with great view of the sea, Amroth and Tenby etc;,

Review 121:My room was just what I needed. It was clean with a comfortable bed & fab shower. I had a great view of the sea. There was plenty for breakfast which kept me going past lunch.

Review 122:I didnt like the fact I had to leave. :-(

Review 123:Lovely friendly owner, great room,2 lovely breakfasts and thats what I ate alone, good location, made to feel welcome. Would recommend. Im proud to be local to this great bed/ breakfast. Well tenby.

Review 124:no bar area had to use a hotel at the back of ours which was very good but it would have been nice to have somewhere in the hotel as well.

Review 125:helpful friendly staff. clean comfortable rooms. close to the beach and the town.

Review 126:NO SKY CHANNELS NO WI FI SIGNAL SLOW LAZY STAFF FOR BREAKFAST HAD TO GO UP HILL FROM TOWN CENTRE AND DID NOT CLEAN ROOM REGULARLY OR PROVIDE ENOUGH TOWELS HAD TO ASK RECEPTION ROOMS NEED SOUNDPROOFING AS HEAR EVERY NOISE OTHER GUESTS MAKE

Review 127:BIG ROOM

Review 128:Not suitable for over 5.5ft visitors as very low ceiling in roof room. Found hair in bathroom and one of the towels didn't look very clean. Bunk beds not very comfy. Windows unsafe for young kids. Very weak wifi on top floor.

Review 129:Lovely sea view from top floor. Bargain for our family of 6. Good shower. Good breakfast. Staff/owner very nice.

Review 130:Family room - double bed was 2 singles pushed together although this wasn't too much of a problem for us as we only stayed 1 night and an unusual smell in reception area??!! Water from shower had no oomph!!

Review 131:Location, views Breakfast was excellent and close to saundersfoot shops and lovely beach Bathroom was lovely and clean

Review 132:Everything, but mainly the friendly courteous land lady and the food. The hotel is clean and in an ideal location. Would recommend and will stay there again.

Review 133:The bed was very hard and the blankets were not very soft and comfy as the quilt was more of a throw.

Review 134:The location was ideal and everything was easily accessible with plenty of parking.
