Reviews for Jurys Inn London Watford

Review 1:Staff werent very helpful on main desk. Tried to find out how to get to all the tourist spots in London and what trains. She didnt seem to know anything. On our departure we asked about buses to the airport as theres a stand right outside the hotel. Again we were answered with a "sorry i dont know" Not very helpful when were tourists in need of help and our hotel cant give us any!

Review 2:Hotel was great, close to main train and bus station. Very clean and confortable.

Review 3:racist staff on the night

Review 4:the manager on the night discriminated against me because i was black he didn't even hide it even the couple next door said something to me

Review 5:The people that answer the phone after 9pm to take kitchen orders are uninformed and confused. Hanged up on us and left us waiting but in the end the food was great, really amazing and worth ! Also don't expect much of the breakfast, they don't seem to be able to handle a lot of people in the same time and not much variety to eat...very poor !

Review 6:The bed and bedroom were amazing and clean

Review 7:We loved the friendly staff, was great value fur money and would defo recommend to others! Infact already told friends about the jury's inn! Also the sofa bed in the room was just like a full sized double bed, the kids loved it! This was there first hotel experience too :)

Review 8:Room was a little tired. Decor past its best. Door lock required a knack to open. Shower curtain rail hanging loose. Hairdryer working when it felt like it.

Review 9:Good central location. Helpful staff. Comprehensive breakfast selection.

Review 10:The staff were incredibly helpful. There was one woman who I think was a daytime manager. I never did catch her name, but she was incredibly friendly and helpful. Always asking how we were doing and what she could do to help!

Review 11:Organized a packaged to be delivered to the hotel and had confirmed with the hotel that this was no issue. Employees then refused the package and did not answer emails through booking.com nor direct email to Jury's Inn Watford. Had to pay additional charges to have it delivered to my address in a different country.

Review 12:I like too feel comfortable within my stays at hotels. The bathroom was immaculate, the beds were comfortable and the members of staff were all so friendly.

Review 13:All the staff were so friendly and made us feel at home. We arrived at 10 o'clock and the restaurant was shut when we got there, however the bar staff made sure we got food made us a pizza and burger which was delicious! We ate in the restaurant the following night and food was great, we did wait a wee while for dinner however we were offered free drink. Highly recommend this hotel

Review 14:Great location if you're going to the Harry Potter Studios, and only 20 minutes on the train to Euston. Staff were very friendly on arrival, room was spacious, very clean and had a comfortable bed. Wifi connection wasn't amazing but it was ok (and free!) Breakfast was included in our price, it was tasty food (maybe slightly cold but that didn't matter) and there was so much choice. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

Review 15:The sofa bed was only slightly bigger than a single bed and nowhere near big enough for a 8 & 9 year old to share. I ended up sleeping ( or not sleeping)on the floor in the middle of the night so the kids could both get some sleep.

Review 16:Staff all very friendly and the restaurant was excellent.

Review 17:Had to return 3 times to reception on arrival due to keys not working. Then having to fight with the room door in the evening as the lock is clearly faulty. Not impressed with the sofa bed, I had requested the sofa bed in on of the rooms however it was not made up and the spare quilts were none existent. Car park not on site. Had to use an unmanned car park around the corner.

Review 18:Close proximity to Harry Potter tour. Helpful American staff member.

Review 19:Nothing! Excellent stay

Review 20:The location of the hotel is excellent, just a few minutes walk to Watford high street and the intu Watford shopping centre. The parking was a short distance away but very reasonable at £6 per 24 hours. The hotel is modern, clean and great value for money, the staff were very attentive and helpful throughout our stay. The room was very comfortable for a 1 night stay, check out at 12pm which is later than most and breakfast was one of the best hotel breakfasts we've had. We came to visit Harry potter studios but would definitely come back in the future!

Review 21:Good breakfast. Clean and adequate rooms. Excellent location next to large shopping centre and town centre with restaurants. Short walk to Watford Junction with train to London Euston St in 16-22 mins

Review 22:Stand about waiting for staff a lot of the time nobody seems to be about, sofa bed is terrible to sleep on springs and bars sticking in your back all night, residents loud doors banging all night and running about drunk on the landings every night ended up sleeping through the day missing out on day trips with the kids trying to catch up on sleep

Review 23:Clean and has nice food

Review 24:The pillows weren t very comfortable. The restaurant was expensive.

Review 25:The cleanliness of the hotel and room. Very great location close to Watford junction station. Excellent to go to London.

Review 26:Bed a little too firm for us we both woke up with a bad back. Breakfast ; eggs were very under cooked really snotty even the scrambled egg was sloppy undercooked . Everything was cold. Sorry. I have a catering establishment and I am a chef. Breakfast was disappointing .

Review 27:Corridors were ridiculously hot from the lifts to the room. Rooms are basic at best.

Review 28:Location was amazing - two minutes from shops and restaurants. Front desk staff were lovely.

Review 29:My 19 year old daughter is gluten free and so we were given a chart of food that showed all the food contents. the only food she could have for dinner was salmon or meat pate or chicken salad, which she didn't like as she always has to opt for the chicken salad and isn't terribly keen on salad/salmon or pate! So, perhaps have a real 'gluten free' option, like they do in some restaurants or at least a gluten free pizza. Her food needs to be cooked in a separate pan so no cross contanination. She would loved to have had something like burger and chips like her brother ate in front of her. Instead we went up to the room and she ate a packet of M and S tortilla crisps.

Review 30:able to stay in one room with my two children (19 and 15 years of age). Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Great atmosphere near Christmas. Large enough room that was sound proof and spacious for all 4 of us.

Review 31:staff were amazing, so helpful with everything. It was my girlfriends birthday, they put flowers in the room ready that I ordered from a local florist and also put a birthday cake in the room as a surprise without being asked, which was amazing.

Review 32:All was good!

Review 33:The rooms were very clean and comfortable. The staff welcoming and pleasant. The breakfast was excellent. The evening meal was also excellent.

Review 34:Such a shame there was a Xmas party going on until midnight below ourbedroom. Then loud banging all night from people returning to theirrooms and staff outside. We had young children and this wasn't good!We did phone reception who was lovely and they said they could relocateto a higher room on a different floor but wasn't ideal at 11:30pm tomove about. If you're a young couple, or single this wouldn't bea problem and probably an ideal hotel for all nighters! Q

Review 35:Staff in bar restaurant and reception were very lovely. The foodwasn't bad. The hotel itself was clean and modern. The room was whatyou expect for the money.

Review 36:No bad experience really, the shower pressure was low due to lime build up but once cleaned it was fine.

Review 37:Extremely well located. Every staff member was helpful and had a smile on their face. Very accomodating and helpful staff. I moved here from Mercure hotel where I had the exact opposite impression in all aspects. Very poor location, extremely dull and boring interiors and unhelpful and unfriendly staff. In comparison, Jury's inn was a treat.

Review 38:Standing shower was a little small than used to

Review 39:Room size was big Bathroom accessories mounted to wall so extra space on counter Within walking distance to Watford Junction station, local mall, restaurants and shops

Review 40:Some of the guests where very noisy after their Christmas celebrations!

Review 41:Clean, friendly hotel which was well located for the function we attended in Northwood

Review 42:No parking facilities. Was told to park in multi storey which was in conjunction with hotel. This was full so had to park in multi storey opposite and pay full price for overnight parking. Also bed was uncomfortable and bathroom could have done with a lick of paint.

Review 43:The location

Review 44:Poor service at bar.

Review 45:From the initial greeting at the door to the end of my visit the staff were so helpfull. The night reception manager always recognised me over my 4 week visit to Watford and always had good banter. Room cleanliness was outstanding.

Review 46:Nothing!

Review 47:The hotel was clean modern and very nice, the location for Warner brothers studio/ Harry potter tour was probably the best you could ask for (just a 5 minute walk to the tours bus service) the room was fantastic and the bed was amazing! I felt ill at kept going all hot and cold and just felt really bad, and getting back to to the room having a cuppa and getting in that bed was amazing! And the shower was lovely so nice and hot and strong jets :) and it was so clean! Oh and our rooms as my quite ready when we arrived at check in time so we where offered free hot drinks at the (very swish) bar

Review 48:Unfortunately the hotel does not have its own parking and although there's a discount for parking in Sutton Car Park, its on a first come and first served basis. When we arrived around 7pm on a friday night, there was a post saying the car park was full. (Decided to check anyways and this was not the case but when leaving on Sunday, it was completely full) No hot water on the night we arrived - had to call the manager I think the receptionist assumed that as a young couple, we were there for the nightclubs so they put us on the top floor (the noisest level) got woken up plenty of times during the night by people running up and down the corridor and banging the doors

Review 49:Close to shops/restaurants; friendly staff; room was spacious for 2 adults but bathroom was OK (simple)

Review 50:The waitress didn't speak very good English so it was a bit touch and go as to whether we would get the correct meal, our meals were ok however but my husbands chicken burger was very dry

Review 51:The location was quite good as we didn't have a very long walk to the station, however we found it very noisy at night I know this is something you have no control over but thought I would mention it

Review 52:The allied parking facilities were closed, coldn't par there. The shower nozzle Needs a cleaning, because of the chalc.

Review 53:Staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel located in the Center.

Review 54:parking...it is false advertising to say you have parking when clearly you do not..the car was a block away..I would have chosen another hotel

Review 55:Room and in house restaurant with great friendly staff.

Review 56:Bed was very uncomfortable, both of us struggled to sleep. There was no toilet brush in the bathroom. TV antenna cable was broken and had to fiddle about with it to fix it. Room service was very overpriced.

Review 57:Location was brilliant, in a well lit up area with easy access to the town! Staff knowledgeable of the area and tourist attractions and transport. Appreciated hot chocolate sachets. We liked the ice machine in the corridor.

Review 58:Room 224 had lots of limescale on the shower head. Soft pillows were just as hard as ones provided so not a totally great sleep.

Review 59:I love the bath and room Space the staff were excellent and breakfast was worth the money.

Review 60:The bed was very small. The amount of room in each of the rooms could do with a bigger bed.

Review 61:Staff were very pleasant and all had a smile. Also I mentioned it was my girlfriends birthday at the time of booking not expecting to get anything but worth a try and when we got into the room there was a card and a cake which was a lovely gesture and the cake tasted nice. Thank you very much!

Review 62:Food was about the worst I can remember in any hotel anywhere. Almost inedible. Bathroom was v dated and tiny. Towels old and almost threadbare. Room was a prison cell in a pale grey....awful. Bed ok though.

Review 63:Staff pleasant

Review 64:We were opposite a private door early in the morning slamming of the door waking us up. Also for the price breakfast should be included to the room shouldn't have to pay extra.

Review 65:Perfect location and how clean it was Such a professional atmosphere

Review 66:We were accidently directed to the wrong room which was not a problem. The reception staff were very apologetic and gave us vouchers for free costa drinks and drinks at the bar.

Review 67:The room are never quite clean enough. Not dirty but just aren't spotless (hairs in bath, food marks on walls etc). I find the beds hard and the pillows horrible. Says softer pillows available in wardrobe but sometimes these are exactly the same type. Room service food is bland. Superior rooms are exactly the same as normal rooms just with free water and biscuits. I've stayed in a number of rooms here a number of times and levels always the same. I've decided to go elsewhere now which is a shame as it could so easily be a great hotel.

Review 68:Good location and staff are always really lovely.

Review 69:we stayed here to go to the Harry Potter tour at universal studios and it was a great location, only 15 mins away.Parking was just across the road from the hotel from which you get discount off your overnight stay.

Review 70:Car park was nearby. Train station a few minutes walk away with easy connection straight into London. Staff friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Will definitely go back when next in the area.

Review 71:Downside, we found it To be quite noisey late evening because of location

Review 72:Very central to town, shopping etc, Also perfect location to commute to Warner Brothers Studio

Review 73:I had a few noisey children students around us, kicking doors and knocking on the walls early morning

Review 74:Loved the bedroom room also the desk with the mirror, the breakfast was lovely to.

Review 75:Ideal Base for taking kids to Harry Potter World at Warner bros studios. Watford junction train station is a 5 min walk away for a frequent service to central London (20mins on train) and regular buses to Warner Bros. After a long day in London and at the studio,we got back to hotel around 8pm.The kids were very tired but there seemed to be some problem with the kitchen and we were left waiting over an hour after ordering meals. The restaurant manager (his name may have been Tom) was very apologetic and refused to let us pay for our food or drinks which was a touch of class and proper customer service. The food was excellent and they even brought ice cream up to the (very comfortable) room for the kids. Breakfast was great also. Sometimes things don't run smoothly,(especially with restaurants and kitchens) but it's how you deal with things when they go wrong that people always remember. Thanks Jurys, would definitely recommend a stay here.

Review 76:The fact that you couldn't park at the hotel was a little off putting just because being out of town and looking for parking and following the busy traffic was the only let down.

Review 77:The location was really great and the hotel in general was really clean and modern. We throughly enjoyed it

Review 78:The rooms were comfortable, clean and warm. This hotel is ideally located if you wish to visit the Harry Potter Studio tour or take a trip into London.

Review 79:Breakfast is ok. But evening meals and room service is very poor. I can no longer eat there in the evenings. This hotel has no idea of what is needed to retain customers.

Review 80:Reception staff always welcoming. Rooms clean and comfortable.

Review 81:Ordered room service as a wee treat as it was the kids first time in a hotel and we were ravinouse by the time we got there. it was barely warm and the chips cold. Manager was very apologetic and gave me a 50% refund.

Review 82:Good location for Harry Potter studio tour. 10 min walk to the shuttle bus at Watford Junction. Basic rooms. Breakfast was great and the kids ate free which was a bonus. Staff are really friendly and helpful.

Review 83:Tray service at 8 pm so wasnt late they sent the wrong sandwich twice & the pizza was burn the children wouldnt eat it but we didnt have to pay for it but went to bed hungry !

Review 84:Staff very helpful had a problem with tray service but staff very good dealing with it

Review 85:I arrived early and left my bags. However I asked that the sofa bed be made for when we checked in later in the day. It wasn't and this was an inconvenience. Food menu did not have enough choice for children. The view was awful right over a rubbish area.

Review 86:The location was close to the station.

Review 87:When coming back to the hotel being asked what room were in by security at the door when concierge so us leave to go to the shop

Review 88:The lay out of the hotel and our room was very nice for the price

Review 89:Room was a little too warm and couldnt adjust the settings. No vending machine when wanted quick drink but didnt want to drink in the bar. Room clean but starting to show wear and tear.

Review 90:Location is perfect for town centre plus fast trains into london. Discount on parking.

Review 91:I was particularly impressed by the helpfulness of the staff, cleanliness throughout the hotel and the overall value for money it represented. The room was comfortable and quiet despite the hotels position adjacent to a busy highway.

Review 92:Restaurant facilities at breakfast a little chaotic and tables were not cleared in time for guests to arrive. could do with an uplift.

Review 93:nice staff, good location for what we needed.

Review 94:Room was not ready on arrival at 11.30pm but were offered drink in the bar whilst we waited

Review 95:Good location, cheap car park nearby, good breakfast choice, room clean and well equipped

Review 96:Bed was small and uncomfortable. Bathroom rather small. No biscuits!

Review 97:Breakfast was good. No on site parking but local parking was cheap and secure.

Review 98:We wanted to watch the American F1 Grandprix. Despite calling reception and them coming up twice, once with a new remote and once with a new television they couldn't get on to work. Instead of watching it relaxing in our room we were forced to go down to the bar. It was very noisy and we couldn't hear the drivers nor the commentators.

Review 99:clean.

Review 100:no bad experience at all

Review 101:We stay in this hotel several times a year. We have always got very good service at starting from reception desk, through nice and spacious rooms, comfortble beds ip to very good and rich breakfast - all this at reasonable price. We come back again for sure. On top of that the hotel has excellent location just few minutes walk to the city center or the railway station to London.

Review 102:Very friendly and welcoming staff. The kids were on a sofa bed which was very small so the staff kindly offered us a camp bed which was perfect. Excellent location for Harry Potter Studio tour.

Review 103:The breakfast was poor!!! Cheap cereal and empty cooked food trays, table was not laid till after we sat, 8:30 ish so not too busy but lots coming in when we left, didn't have breakfast second day but got better in the high street!!!

Review 104:Location,comfy beds, close to station and handy for Harry Potter!!

Review 105:We used the restaurant for an evening. While the food was good, it took a long time to arrive. We waited c.50 minutes, where as we would expect to wait c.30 minutes.

Review 106:Staff were very helpful, friendly and polite. There were good refreshments in the room, as well as a good TV. The room was tidy, clean and made up well.

Review 107:Breakfast was a little unorganised. Even when it was quite quiet the tables werent always made up.

Review 108:The room was a good size even with the sofa bed pulled out. Very friendly staff with good local knowlage.

Review 109:The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I have ever TRIED to sleep in.

Review 110:Excellent location, 10 mins from train station and very near town centre. Excellent breakfast

Review 111:The staff were great! Really friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a great location right next to Watford junction so easy to go into london. The room was very clean spacious and comfortable. Overall it was a great stay for a great price!

Review 112:The internet was substandard/slow unless you booked directly with them through their own website.

Review 113:The staff was incredibly thoughtful, responsive and professional.

Review 114:At night all i could hear was banging outside. It was at the back of the hotel where deliveries came in. I got up and watched him. He was throwing things around not caring that it was 4 in the morning.

Review 115:Hotel and room were lovely.

Review 116:Not much to complain about other than I ordered chicken wings in the bar (they were very nice) however they were just shoved on my table no napkins or cutlery provided

Review 117:Ideal location, check in staff were friendly and efficient

Review 118:The room was very small. I stayed with the family and obtained a triple room. We barely had room to move.

Review 119:The location was amazing. It's just a few minutes walk to the Intu shopping center and many fast food restaurants. There's a Sainsbury's at the opposite side of the hotel. The breakfast was very good. Staff was very helpful.

Review 120:i didn't like the fact that the bathroom wasn't as clean as i would of expected it too be such as the there were hairs on the bathroom floor that werent ares. Also the tea and coffee making Facilites didnt work great, such as to make a tea we had to physically hold the switch down for it to work.

Review 121:the location.

Review 122:The room was dark, had to have lights on almost constantly during the day lighting was poor in the room so just about adequate at night. Room was also noisey not sure if it was plumbing or heating but caused a constant humming noise.

Review 123:Location, breakfast and facilities where all good.

Review 124:The pillows in the room were very hard compared to what I'm used to! Even tried the 'softer' option that was in the wardrobe but still found them to be rather hard. Woke up a couple of times throughout the night with a sore ear due to the hard pillows! Also a simple instruction manual for the air con/ heating system in the room would of been useful. Breakfast seemed quite expensive too. You could find cheaper breakfast just down the road. No conditioner in the provided toiletries, just shampoo. Also the duvet cover on the bed had a rip along the seam. Just little things that could of been improved to make it a perfect stay!

Review 125:The staff was able to allow us a slightly later check out at no additional cost! The staff seemed very friendly and tried to help out wherever possible! I liked the hairdryer and iron that was provided in the room too!

Review 126:The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The location served it's purpose for me. It was very near all the shops and restaurants and the local railway/bus station.

Review 127:The room was very warm

Review 128:Laura Dinan - Duty Manager went out of her way to help me out. She was warm, welcoming and the 1 night stay with my children was made extra special because of her care and attention. This customer service means that I would look to stay at a Jury Inn again. This has just been marked down because we found the rooms very warm despite setting the air con.

Review 129:There was a slight smell of smoke on our floor but it wasn't potent.

Review 130:The staff were very friendly and helpful, cheap offsite parking, great access to watford city centre and the train station! Lovely clean rooms, we loved our stay! We will definitely come back!

Review 131:Noisy as could hear people running around and slamming doors.2nd bed for my child wasn't good either umcomfortable.Breakfast wasn't very good either, coffee was poor and juices watered down.

Review 132:Staff were very friendly
