Reviews for The Orchard Hotel

Review 1:Health and safety would have a field day.Stayed top room of annex, No fire exit or signs ,escape routes, instructions or extinguishers . overpriced. breakfast was not included.

Review 2:Central location, décor was eye catching .The staff were nice & polite.

Review 3:Bedrooms are located above a very busy noisy road, fortunately the traffic eased in the late evening. Two sets of spiral stairs from carpark to room, no lift.

Review 4:Friendly staff, good atmosphere. Quirky and interesting decor.

Review 5:Towels tired looking in various shades of brown, frayed. Bed linen also mostly shades of brown, cheap synthetic mix rather than crisp cotton. Flat tired duvet and pillows, expected more in this area for the price.

Review 6:Very friendly staff, offered us a quieter room which was great. Better room had no wifi.

Review 7:We were put into an annex which we did not expect but unfortunately they didn't have on any heating despite asking them to do something about it. We were there for 3 days but the heating was only on for a few hours 1 day of our stay. Totally not acceptable.

Review 8:The hotel was nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful

Review 9:Room basic but adequate, but would not recommend for a leisure or holiday trip

Review 10:Good location for business trip to Falkirk. Food hearty and good value. Staff pleasant and helpful. Overall good value for money

Review 11:Would probably be ok for younger people or backpackers but was on a main road which was very noisy but also music was played very loudly every night in the pub. Thought it was very overpriced especially as breakfast was not included

Review 12:It was clean

Review 13:TV didn't work properly, noise coming up from the bar at night due to pub quiz on Thurs and disco on Friday.

Review 14:Central location, proximity to both the bus and rail stations.

Review 15:Location is perfect for town center, be it shopping, leisure, or travel, The staff are very good & polite, Hotel clean and quiet even though there is a lot activity going on both outside/in bar areas, Should you need to cheek in/out early or late not a problem as breakfast start from 06.30 till late, restaurant/ bar close's at midnight, I will definitely be stopping there again

Review 16:Pillows on the bed a bit of a disgrace. About the thickness of a biscuit, stained and should have been thrown out a long time ago. Had to ask for replacements which weren't much better. Two thin pillows shoved into one pillowcase. Big black mark!

Review 17:Friendly, helpful staff. Decent breakfast. Clean room and good shower. Modern flat screen TV which was a good size.

Review 18:Unfortunately being a Friday night it was disco night and I couldn't stand the noise from the disco.

Review 19:Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Had a meal in the bar and the steak pie was excellent.

Review 20:shower did not work ?did not mention same no one about when leaving, no chairs in room to relax on,hence not value for price of room

Review 21:staff responded well and help full

Review 22:OK it was a bit noisy at night, but died down by midnight, and for the price, location, and ambience it was excellent.

Review 23:Fantastic building which integrated the old with the new in a good way. This is budget accomadation, and in terms of value for money it scores tops in my opinion. Yes, it is a bit noisy at night, but our room was away from the main noise from the bar. I was travelling with a disabled friend. The stairs were a bit challenging, and would not be suitable for anyone with more serious mobility problems, but were manageble for us. The staff were all brilliant, so attentive and enthusiatic. And the food was fantastic. Great breakast, and we eat there both nights of our stay, it was too good to even try anywhere else.

Review 24:I stayed overnight on a Saturday and the disco went on till 1am. With revellers not leaving until around 2am and morning traffic starting at around 6am it was a disturbed night. Beds could be more supportive.

Review 25:Breakfast was cooked to order and substantive. Hotel has restaurant, and pub so good meals.

Review 26:- The room, which is situated in another building. Could be that information was available to me when I booked and as such my bad. - The bed. Like sleeping on a plank (or floor, if you're normally leading an even less lavish lifestyle)

Review 27:- The staff is brilliant (helpful and smiling) - The fact The Orchard is both a hotel, pub, restaurant and hangout place - Value for money

Review 28:Very welcoming staff, food to die for and room had all that you needed ie, en suite tv free wifi. Definately recommend and next time im home will definately stay again.

Review 29:It wasn't exactly bad but the Orchard is a lively pub on a Saturday night with a young clientele who appear to like loud music. Great if you like that sort of thing but I wasn't looking for that and had to use ear plugs to get to sleep.

Review 30:Staff very friendly and helpful, good food and car parking in a central location. Pleasant atmosphere and layout.

Review 31:Extremely noisy in the room, ie kitchen and music. No mattress or pillow protectors. Cobwebs in bathroom, it felt unclean

Review 32:The staff were very accommodating, the food in the bistro was very nice.

Review 33:Room and bathroom not together. No sharing.... But not en-suite as such

Review 34:Price, location, friendly staff, clean, spacious, absolutely superb food ( I mean top notch!!!)

Review 35:Very noisy bar and restaurant. Old tired rooms and beds. Cold without any heating controls in bedroom and bathroom. OK for an overnight, you get what you pay for!

Review 36:Centre of town. Good food and bar. Good staff.

Review 37:Bacon was burned but I presume that was a one off. Wouldn't let it put me off.

Review 38:Stayed here with my father and father in law after the Ryder Cup. For £65 with breakfast it was great value and I'd definitely stay again if I was in the area.

Review 39:Wifi not always available in rooms furthest from central pub area, but not too much of an issue for a short stay.

Review 40:Handy to town and shopping area, but very little traffic noise. Ideal stopover location. Good quality pub fare at reasonable price. All staff friendly and very helpful. Would not hesitate to book again.

Review 41:cold room 7 Brown bed linen is a real turn off. Cost at £65 for one person without breakfast is value for money especially on light of above comments..

Review 42:friendliness of staff

Review 43:Spent three hours driving to Scotland around at 7:30 something to eat went to bed at about 10 p.m. Noise from the bar below was unbelievable finally got to sleep about 1.30AM over 7 a.m. Found there was no water in the building for anyone was told it would be a couple of hours Still water 11 AM when I finally checked out. When to make friends at for wheel did an hour and finally drove home for a shower called it a day. The ORCHARD HOTEL refund mE £65 POUNDS. And they seem to think this is fair I actually slept for about four hours I didn't use the second NIGHT. Hope you'll have better than me if you STAY .

Review 44:There was extremely loud music and singing until very late. I went down at 11:30pm to ask the manager how long this would be going on for only to be told until 1am!! Speaking to another guest the next morning this happened on the previous night too. Glad we were only there for 1 night. Won't be staying there again. We needed a good nights sleep as we had to travel home the next day, around 300 miles.

Review 45:The staff were, on the whole, quite friendly.

Review 46:The steps were awkward for my friend who is partially disabled

Review 47:The restaurant, the food, the private car park and above all, the friendly and helpful staff. They pointed out a way of minimizing the steps for my friend

Review 48:The towels on the first night were a little small, however they were changed, without us asking for big bath sheets the next morning - lovely.

Review 49:The evening meals were fabulous, well cooked and a great variety. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly A great weekend

Review 50:More choice for breakfast and bath sheets would have been better, also a bath mat to stand on.

Review 51:The staff were very helpful and friendly. Bed very comfortable, towels changed daily.

Review 52:The rooms are basic but very clean and I found the busy road a bit noisy. I do however live in a very quiet rural area so this could be just my preference.

Review 53:The staff make The Orchard Hotel. They are extremely friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the boast that they do "The Best Breakfast in Falkirk" is justified.

Review 54:Too expensive (£70 for an old karaoke room which pretended to be a hotel room) Noisy (we woke up at 6am due to the music they broadcasted outside the Orchard patio) Behind the room sofas there was a lot of debris and dust.

Review 55:all the staff was kind and cheerful.

Review 56:They took little responsibility for the booking and guarantee at the alternative undesirable establishment.

Review 57:Girls were pleasant. Had been there for drinks before and enjoyed it.

Review 58:The staff were the cheeriest and pleasant that I have come across anywhere. Well located for the town and tourist attractions around (The Kelpies and The Falkirk Wheel).

Review 59:It has a hostel feel, but with private rooms. Traffic passing by the building shook our room. Although there would be ample parking, the lot was full of large work vehicles by a construction crew.

Review 60:The staff was very friendly, including the owner who takes time out to chat with his customers. There is a bar on site, which was great to unwind. Trendy. Haggis for breakfast was delicious.

Review 61:Quite noisy both nights but it is a pub with function rooms so to be expected. lacked a few basics in the room but comfortable.

Review 62:Quirky, different layout, very friendly staff, Excellent location, the Kelpies (well worth a visit) & Falkirk wheel almost within walking distance!

Review 63:The bed was saggy but it didn't interfere with my sleep.

Review 64:It's a very plain, inexpensive hotel close enough to the rail station that you can walk. The staff was very friendly, the breakfasts were great esp the potato scones. The room was very plain and the bed was saggy but the shower had good pressure.

Review 65:Long corridors difficult for disabled guest. Steep narrow stairs Noisy dining room/ bar Difficulty in car parking

Review 66:Central convenient location Good breakfast but slow

Review 67:We arrived to a very happy atmosphere, with the lounge abuzz and all were enjoying themselves, it is a good sign of a very well run Hotel, and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Two Aussie travellers

Review 68:Always friendly staff

Review 69:all good!!

Review 70:leaving ....could of stayed for another week

Review 71:Staff,location and the atmosphere were just great

Review 72:Bit cold; loud music in bar till too late

Review 73:Jolliesthappy staff ever met!,

Review 74:Really friendly staff! Helped out a lot.

Review 75:the friendly staff

Review 76:Bed a bit soft but that's all

Review 77:Good value

Review 78:Excess noise from bar downstairs until late at night. Poor parking for vehicle

Review 79:Not a bad word to say

Review 80:could have done with tea and coffee making facilities I was in the flat across from the main building!

Review 81:Food was hearty and home made and great value

Review 82:The room was very dated, beds uncomfortable and general the condition of the hotel was in dire need of upgrade.

Review 83:The location is central

Review 84:Fantastic room, friendly staff, Wifi that worked and a brilliant breakfast! Look forward to staying again :)

Review 85:There was nothing we didn't like we wish we had stayed longer

Review 86:I loved staying there the staff were really nice and loved the hotel

Review 89:Pleasant staff, easy cherck in, nice stay

Review 90:Very LOUD music in the dining area

Review 95:Staff were brilliantly helpful. Very attentive. Handy location and decent hotel more in the mould of lads weekend away. Clean.

Review 96:Staff is very help ful in future if i am goin to Scotland I stay this hotel

Review 97:Strange "hybrid" room - seemed to be a small function room with beds added...

Review 98:Friendly staff and atmosphere

Review 99:Room overlooked main street and was quite noisey

Review 100:Everything apart from location of room

Review 101:Noisy location and drafts from windows

Review 102:Cleanliness, friendly staff & location

Review 103:nothing

Review 104:great price . Also good karaoke in the pub . Great breakfast included in the price.

Review 105:food

Review 106:Tv could not get local channel. Car park small.breakfast not as good as our last visit

Review 107:Beds really comfy.

Review 108:Wi-fi not very good

Review 109:Location Breakfast Staff very friendly and helpful

Review 110:Unfortunately it is right on a very busy road and as it was hot we had to have the windows open . The road was very noisy

Review 111:Location and price

Review 112:The bar was excellent in the evening with great tunes and a fantastic atmosphere

Review 113:The spiral staircase, no chairs in the bedroom.

Review 114:The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the meals were excellent. The room was comfortable but pretty basic.

Review 115:What a relief to walk into this lovely old Hotel abuzz with all the customers enjoying themselves, I speaks highly of the support they are returning to the Hotel, and the loyalty to the young staff running it, it is a sure sign of a very well run Hotel Ron &Joy Davis Australia

Review 116:the orchard staff were a bit shady regarding our booking upon arrival, they said it didnt come through.they offered a small room with shared toilet and we did not like it,so we left.

Review 117:The staff were fantastic and always friendly. Food was great (big servings) and a great choice. Very close to city centre so only needed to walk to the many pubs and restaurants in the area

Review 118:noise from reverlers in street. late at night noisy bar area but fortunatly our room was far enough away from bar area to be affected !

Review 119:comfortable bed and spacious room

Review 120:No complaints

Review 121:Impressive bar and restaurant with a charming host and a nice room at such a low price that I didn't expect it to be as good as it was.

Review 122:However, the noise was dreadful from the bar below and the whole room shook with the vibration of the noise until 1am!

Review 123:the hhotel was fine, staff were very good as was breakfast

Review 124:We arrived on a Saturday night and the noise from below was really awful until 1am - the whole room shook with the vibration of the noise

Review 125:The hotel was fine, clean and omfortable and the breakfast was lovely - as were the staff.

Review 126:No faults for this place.

Review 127:Very welcoming staff, food to die for and room had all that you needed ie, en suite tv free wifi. Definately recommend and next time im home will definately stay again.
