Reviews for Pandora Hotel

Review 1:I visit from England with friends once a year to watch my local rugby team play Guernsey. Breakfast is excellent, the room spotless and the location just three minutes walk from the best pubs in St. Peter Port. Very modestly priced. I shall stay at Pandora next year.

Review 2:Jumped on as soon as sat down for breakfast, didn't have time to eat ceareal before hot food comming out. Felt really rushed for breakfast, tea and coffee not taste nice, ?

Review 3:View from room excellent food great staff lovely, hotel dated but clean and comfy

Review 4:The uphill walk to the hotel was tiring. The room's carpet was old and dirty. The room was clustered with furniture. Very poor pressure in the shower. The sunflower restaurant stated vegetarian as their speciality. But they only offer tomatoes and beans for cooked breakfast. Note to the management: The only thing this room needs changing is the flooring and de-cluttering. You got great staff who do great jobs. So support them with improved facilities and invest in décor.

Review 5:The staff were very helpful. They seem to make the best out of what facilities they got. The cleaning team have done an amazing job and it was cleaner than the 4* we stayed the previous night. The room was simple and had adequate facilities. The breakfast tables were allocated, so there was no messing about.

Review 6:No lift and tricky spiral staircase, making life difficult for less able guests, however able to have more accessible room resolved problem.

Review 7:Large comfortable lounges. Pretty garden. Being able to have main dish from restaurant in the bar. Really helpful staff.

Review 8:None to mention.

Review 9:Room 20 had an excellent room view of the bay. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff, friendly, helpful and polite. Tried the Restaurant and Bar food on different nights and all meals were beautifully made and faultless.

Review 10:My only grumble would be the pillows on the bed. Am used to much better and found them uncomfortable.

Review 11:Very good evening bar meals and friendly and helpful staff

Review 12:It was too hot even with windows open and noisy from the road and the ventilation system. The wardrobe cupboard was very warm must be close to boiler???/heater.

Review 13:Early morning call and taxi request spot on so was early breakfast tray thank you. The room was very very clean and the hotel was not noisy.

Review 14:Very small En Suite Bathroom. Location: Unsuitable For Less Than Able Bodied Due To Steep Hill From Town To Hotel.

Review 15:Pool table. Good Breakfast. Comfy Bed.

Review 16:A very peaceful spacious hotel very relaxing and great for our little grandson of 7 months .The staff were amazingly obliging..helping with heating up his food ,washing his bowls wonderful. The evening meal was excellent. Not too fussy with a good choice for all. The garden is lovely too for a pre breakfast or after dinner stroll.

Review 17:I requested a ground floor room due to mobility problems. The room we were given was down a flight of 17 stairs in some parts without a hand rail. The bed was very low and the bathroom very dated.

Review 18:Garden was very pleasant with sea views. The lounge areas we're comfortable.

Review 19:The television reception was very poor although we didnt spend very much time in the bedroom.

Review 20:The whole atmosphere of the hotel is one of relaxation which is just what we needed. The gardens are very enjoyable.

Review 21:Close to the waterfront tho a short walk on a hill or steps. Weather was lovely so didn't spend much time in side but we'd recommend and go again

Review 22:I wish the wifi would extend to bedrooms but it works fine in the lounge ect.

Review 23:Very happy with my experiance. Lovely and helpful staff. I would and will stay there again

Review 24:located on a big hill which i guess you can do nothing about! the corridor leading into the rooms need a redecoration. It may seem trivial but it set the wrong impression the first time i walked to my room.

Review 25:Room was nice, breakfast nice, staff nice

Review 26:If you don't like walking up a steep hill to get there, it's not the hotel for you.

Review 27:Comfortable, good breakfast, and a garden with lovely views.

Review 28:The room is youth hostel standard. Reception staff could be friendlier instead of looking like they didn't enjoy working there

Review 29:central location, nice gardens, good view at back

Review 30:The staff was unfriendly and not at all helpful. The hotel is very much in need of remodeling. For $155 American dollars I was so disappointed. Look for somewhere else.

Review 31:Lounge area was comfortable but a bit worn. The hotel was clean and the breakfast was good.

Review 32:The bedroom & bathroom were small and the furniture and fittings in need of an update.

Review 33:Excellent staff, good food and the lovely gardens were the best features of the hotel

Review 34:The hotel is not suitable for anyone with mobility problems - 10 steps up to the front door and no lift inside. The walk from the sea front is steep - but St Peter Port is on a hillside. The hotel could do with a referb - more substantial mattresses, bigger shower with door not curtain and new bedroom furniture - melamine covered chipboard currently - and more plug sockets.

Review 35:The staff were friendly and helpful although we did have to ask for help with our cases. The service at breakfast was prompt and friendly and the food was good. The hotel was clean. There is plenty of parking.

Review 36:I would not recommend staying here if you need wi-fi as it is non existing in the bedroom. trying to park your car can be a nightmare. One last thing, the hotel is on a step hill and if your not up to walking up a step hill to and from town I would not recommend staying here.

Review 37:The room was nice and the bathroom was a good size. Breakfast was very nice.

Review 38:Lots of stairs and did not appear to be a lift. Could probably have asked for help with suitcases but we were able to manage, however less able bodied people may not.

Review 39:Very friendly staff, they were both extremely efficient and helpful. The hotel is situated about 10 minutes up hill walk from the harbour and bus depot area of St Peter Port, very convenient. The extensive gardens with a view over towards the sea was beautiful.

Review 40:The only thing was trying to find the socket for the kettle ! plus no hanging hooks or shelf in the shower room.... would be helpful to hang up clothes.

Review 41:very convenient to walk into town. pleasant quiet room, comfortable beds and good breakfast

Review 42:the sitting room area is a bit dated and not so welcoming

Review 43:the location was great and the room was lovely and fresh and clean and we were pleased to see it had new carpet!

Review 44:If i'm being picky, our room and our friends were a bit dated but overall clean and comfortable.

Review 45:Excellent service from the staff. Hotel very clean and tidy.

Review 46:I was allocated Room No. 202 which was a special treat as it had a spectacular view across the harbour, over Castle Cornet towards Herm and Sark Islands.

Review 47:Old fashioned bed and breakfast that has expanded over the years by taking over adjacent buildings, there seem to be more corridors than rooms but rooms have been squeezed in to every corner. Massive public areas that seem a bit unnecessary.

Review 48:Close to town

Review 49:Some rooms are quite dated with old appliances and window frames (gets cold). Ask for an alternative if you get one of those.

Review 50:Pick your room carefully and you can enjoy some amazing views on to the harbour

Review 51:The bed was lumpy and uncomfortable. The en suite facilities were poor with a hand basin in the room and not with the toilet. The walls were thin could hear the people in the next room. Thought from the website it was a three star but was actually only 2. Situated up a very steep hill. Will not go back.

Review 52:Breakfast was good

Review 53:Hotel rather dated and bedroom smelt of cigarette smoke which was annoying as we had specifically asked for non-smoking room

Review 54:.Staff were generally helpful. Evening meals and breakfast were very good.

Review 55:For £80 a night it was great value with breakfast as well. Room was basic but just what we wanted and clean. Great value. Tea and coffee with TV. 2 comfort chairs. Comfey bed. Dining room was spacious. With a good breakfast selection. Enjoyed or stay there.

Review 56:Breakfast room quite dark and could be open onto the terrace garden on sunny days

Review 57:Pandora hotel was off the beaten track but only 5 mins walk from Marina front in St Peter port. Lovely old building, beautiful terraced gardens and quiet, peaceful rooms.
