Reviews for Premier Inn Watford - Croxley Green
Review 1:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good. Perfect location for Harry Potter studio tour. I'd forgotten our ticket, but Reception printed one out for us which helped a lot. The family room was perfect for 2 adults and 2 kids.
Review 2:Nothing.hubby said he was a bit hot atnight but there was a fan in the room.
Review 3:Customer service absolutely outstanding from the time we arrived to the time we left.breakfastlots of choice .dinner was hot and lots of choice and quick service which as its nearly Christmas I didn't expect . It was my sins birthday and he got a birthday card with his breakfast and candles with his pudding in the evening .really couldn't have asked for better service.will be returning
Review 4:The staff were extremely helpful and allowed us to have an early check in. They also informed us when our delivery arrived which was hugely appreciated.
Review 5:Because of half term, breakfast was hectic and we had to wait for food to be replenished. We felt there should have been more staff. The staff were under a lot of pressure, so the tables were not cleared quick enough.
Review 6:Breakfast was good. Our rooms were good. The staff were very pleasant and helpful. We asked for a non slip mat in the shower and one was sent to my mothers room immediately.
Review 7:Website very deceiving when talking about location with regards to London. No information in reception and restaurant attached not up to usual standard and ran out of food early on in the evening and service very slow
Review 8:Staff were very friendly
Review 9:Signal bed mattress would benefit from a topper. Stayed with my Mum and young son he wouldn't have noticed but my Mum used the bed and was envious of the better mattress. also, not sure if the dishwasher needed a clean in the restaurant but the plates, dishes and cups weren't very clean, some appearing to have a grainy residue.
Review 10:Friendly, helpful staff. Comfy main bed, clean.
Review 11:The hotel staff and bar staff, were very very helpful and very very friendly, especially Kerrie and Susanna on reception and Magda in the restaurant, they couldn't do enough. Will be back in March 2016
Review 12:The scrambled eggs was not up to standard more choice of pastry at breakfast not many options for the continental breakfast
Review 13:The location was good also the breakfast was good
Review 14:The beds and bed clothes felt gorgeous! The staff were nice mostly but became very overwhelmed in the bar/restaurant when dealing with more then 1 or 2 customers. Bed extremely comfortable.
Review 15:Lack of common sense .would have stayed another week having stayed. 2 weeks ,if the first 3 days rate was reduces to the normal daily rate.
Review 16:Room size and staff friendliness
Review 17:The room was missing a proper wardrobe and safe box. These are standard in European hotels. We were also asked to pay upon check-in; other hotels normally demand payment on check-out.
Review 18:The room was too hot and although we were supplied with a fan it was noisy. When we made our booking we asked for a quiet room at the back of the hotel but were given a room two floors above the hotel bar with outside seating. Again because it was 26 degrees in the room we had to have the window open so it was only because we had our own ear plugs that we got any sleep. However the hotel receptionist did say we could move but after a 6 hr car journey and having already unpacked we turned down her offer as it was too much trouble. We were told that we could have discount on the cost of our stay but as yet have not received this.
Review 19:The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel was clean and the bed comfy.
Review 20:Our room was situated by a main road and due to the windows not being double glazed the noise from outside is quite disturbing also no air conditioning in room made room feel very warm and felt like no oxygen in there so therefore we feel a fan is not enough to cool a room down it needs air con we opened window but then obviously noise from traffic was louder which made it harder to sleep
Review 21:The room was fine for an overnight stay very basic bit small for a family room but ok Rooms need air con and double glazed windows. Breakfast next morning was fantastic and the lady who looked after us was brilliant Magda I think her name was she made us feel really welcome and she was very good and professional at her job nothing was too much trouble
Review 22:Our room was above the back door in. People talking and smoking outside. Appeared to be a fridge of some sort running all night. Thorough fair through for other residents. Premier Inn not responding to calls and email sent on Friday in regards to my bad night on 1st September
Review 23:Staff very friendly would do anything for you as well as offering another room due to poor sleep on first night. Good acces for london.
Review 24:Suzanne and another backofffice lady, (black short curly hair on duty sunday evening, monday evening and on cleaning duty tuesday morning and I am so sorry for not getting her name) were VERY helpful, thank you for making our stay so welcoming
Review 25:A little further to the tube station than expected, but only £6.50 in a taxi.
Review 26:Friendly staff, food in restaurant was much better than expected. Very clean and the room was very big.
Review 27:Toilets in Brewers Fayre - broken toilet seat
Review 28:Friendly staff in both hotel & Brewers Fayre , comfy room, good food, excellent breakfast and felt like there was a personal touch
Review 29:It was hot in the room and although the fan was a godsend it was rather noisy throughout the night.
Review 30:It was in a good location for our needs. It was quiet and eating facilities were part of the building
Review 31:Room was too noisy even with window closed. Also it was too hot. Fan provided but also very noisy
Review 32:The staff were amazing...so helpful and friendly. Bed was comfy. Breakfast fine.
Review 33:book in was poor- we were locked out of the system and had to wait 20 minutes to book in at 4pm in the afternoon after as long journey from Barcelona; location was OK but no good outside space only able to sit in car park; breakfast at 9.30 was tired and sausages very dry
Review 34:bedroom/bed/bathroom all excellent and fan to cool the temp0erature on a very hot day was appreciated
Review 35:Didn't sleep well but sorted, fact you have to go round the roundabout when in a taxi that's a fiver gone before even leavening
Review 36:Tea coffee in room but good have done with unlimited supplies and a better choice as in resterurant
Review 37:As a base to visit London and Harry Potter it was a bit out of the way if you didn't have a car. Local stations were at least a half hour walk and a further 15 minutes to Watford junction. Wi fiwas only free for first 24 hours
Review 38:Very comfortable with helfpul, friendly staff. Free breakfast for kids was a great bonus
Review 39:Although it specifies near a busy road, it's VERY noisy in a room next to the road.could benefit from air con as room got stuffy with window closed.
Review 40:Great location for football ground
Review 41:The wait for my porridge in the morning was quite a wait so decided I wasn't having it on the second morning.
Review 42:It was close to places to eat as well as to Harry Potter. The breakfast was excellent enough choice for everyone.
Review 43:Had to have window open as fan too loud and no air con so road noise and chatter in seating outside at 2am Room a little tired, beds were not as comfy as other premier inns. Bathroom door was a tight fit. Paid for unlimited WiFi but it seemed no different to the standard free version.
Review 44:Friendly staff, lovely meal in brewers fayre. Place served its purpose for stay
Review 45:No air-conditioning in room, although there was a free standing fan.
Review 46:Staff very friendly and helpful. Beds super comfortable, even additional beds for the children in our quad room were full size and very comfortable. Breakfast excellent.
Review 47:I felt the mattress on the bed was very firm for my liking and the room was quite hot
Review 48:The staff were lovely and very helpful and the location was good for cheap travel into London from Croxley green station
Review 49:Sorry. But F& B manager wasn't the friendliest person in the world. And the barman. Shame really.
Review 50:Hotel room was spotless. With fan. So bonus
Review 51:The rooms were very hot and we could not regulate the aircon. To get Wifi you had to submit all your personal details which I didn't want to do as I would have been inundated with pop-ups
Review 52:it was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly.
Review 53:Busy location, but I guess it's to be expected in this area.
Review 54:Beautiful comfy bed, food was great and good selection. Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Review 55:The Brewers restaurant which served the hotel was an absolute disgrace Dirty, staff couldn t care less Food was inedible Disgusting place
Review 56:The hotel staff were helpful
Review 57:Nothing
Review 58:The staff were amazingly helpful as we didn't arrive till midnight. Quick easy check in. Room was big and very pleasent. Beds were comfortable.
Review 59:too hot in bed the quilt is so thick a thinner one would of done me maybe a option to guests like a choice of pillows was a option only stayed one night and did not think to ask staff if they had a summer thin quilt
Review 60:breakfast was good room lovely
Review 61:Room was very warm and we had to keep the fan on all night. There was also noise outside our window through the night-people (staff?)chatting.
Review 62:Close to where we wanted to be (Harry Potter studios)
Review 63:7 empty dishes (I mean pure ceramic empty) at breakfast buffet. 15mins later still the same. Mangress totally unapologetic. Surly attitude when she finally took our Oder for breakfast. Issues with capacity can be excused. Bad attitude can't be. Took 50 minutes to finish breakfast.
Review 64:The room was very hot although this wasn't the staffs fault it made sleeping uncomfortable and hard to get a good nights rest.
Review 65:The hotel room was very clean and nicely sized, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom was also very clean and was big enough.
Review 66:Shower facilities could do with an upgrade, and must be an industrial park near by because there was the sound of lorries being loaded/unloaded from 4am!
Review 67:The size of the room was more than big enough, with a large comfy bed.
Review 68:Room temp was 26deg C and window coild not be opened more than a few inches. Fan no use. Room was stale and.musty due to complete lack of ventilation. NO A/C Why not Will never stay again.
Review 69:The sinks have separate faucets for hot and cold water. Could only get warm water by mixing the hot and cold water in the basin.
Review 70:The buffet breakfast was great. So was the coffee machine. I also liked the salmon salad and vegetable soup.
Review 71:The first mattress! I was ready to sue Sir Lenny under trade descriptions??!!
Review 72:Convenient location , friendly and helpful staff particularly Janice who arranged for a new mattress for us , the vacated rooms were having new mattresses but the room we were in wasn't due for change until after our stay but we had such a bad night that she had a word with someone and managed to get it done. Later checkout is a boon too.
Review 73:my mother and l had a very good time the room was really nice and the staff was very helpful and friendly and breakfast was good and again staff was wonderful and helpful
Review 74:Please sort out the lifts. Gave me a big scare when it got stuck inbetween floors on the way down. Other than that. Great experience
Review 75:Hotel was lovely clean and modern. Situated in a quiet spot in Croxley.Within 5 min of morrisons and Harvesters was just opposite the road. Room was big enough and evrything was clean. Free wifi was actually suprisingly good compared to other hotels, that there was no need to pay for their charged option.
Review 76:Free wifi was very slow, with very regular disconnections. There was some intermittent, awkward noise that appeared to be coming from the lift area.
Review 77:Clean environment. The staff were polite and always very helpful. The room was very comfortable.
Review 78:Extremely noisy guests above our room, complained to Reception and unfortunately nothing improved. Delivery lorries early morning leaving engines running - no sleep at all - complete disaster. Won't be staying again.
Review 79:The lifts. One was broken and the other one stopped with a bang between floors - then carried on (every time we used it). Scary. Only two teabags in the room? Bit mean.
Review 80:Cleanliness.
Review 81:Children's beds were added into the room - one was of much poorer quality - a lot less space in the room for 4 people!
Review 82:Lovely staff - great breakfast
Review 83:Only comment would be on the restaurant Chef counter deal which staff frequently advised was limited as they had run out of food!
Review 84:The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and well set out.
Review 85:No complaints
Review 86:Location was really good my grandson was christened in Croxley 31st of may it was perfect for me....staff really professional and made our stay memorable too.
Review 87:Staff could have been more welcoming. Bit on the grumpy side but did ultimately provide assistance. Also, hotel was near most amazing park but would never have known about it if hadn't done my research. Also would not recommend evening meal at Brewers fayre!
Review 88:facilities were clean and well maintained. Got a sense that they were used to accommodating families. Enjoyed the emphasis on comfort and the choice of pillows etc. Breakfast was great too.
Review 89:I asked for early check between 1pm and 2pm. Room not available till about 2.45.paid for a double room through booking.com. got a room with a double bed.
Review 90:Our room wasn't available for check in on time and staff couldn't give an approximate time of when it would be. The room was very hot in the evening and over night so we had to have the window open all night which would have been fine but there was a very noisey group of adults and children outside the hotel until early hours of the morning, so we did not get a good night sleep. Going for breakfast was a nightmare , we waited until late as to miss the rush but we still had to que for quite a while, there were plenty of emty tables that needed clearing so we couldn't understand the hold up! Then once we were seated everything was running out; food hot and cold , drinks , cutlery etc. There only seemed to be one member of staff topping up the food and drink no one clearing tables. Understandably it was bank holiday so bound to be busier but then staff should have been more prepared. Good job check out wasn't until 12 as any earlier then we wouldn't have been ready.
Review 91:The staff that we did see were pleasant. The room was clean and comfortable. Suitable for our family of 2 adults and 2 children of 8 and 4.
Review 92:Rooms a bit to hot. And noisy Middlesborough supporters coming back late at night standing outside our room talking loudly. But this was not the fault of the Premier Inn
Review 93:The staff were friendly and food was good especially breakfast.
Review 94:Having to book 2rooms for a family of 5, requested adjoining rooms at the time of booking and phoned to confirm, to be told on arrival they don't have them and have never had them. One room v hot, other just fine. Breakfast was OK, although restaurant could not cope with numbers of guests in the hotel.
Review 95:Beds v comfortable, hotel clean, good location for Harry Potter studios.
Review 96:The only fault I had is that the bed was too hard. However, the beds in the other rooms could be okay. I might have just been unlucky on that front.
Review 97:Good location of hotel with ample parking and easy access to the surrounding area. Room was clean and of a good size.
Review 98:Was in room 101, lift whirring up and down, wondered at one stage who would be hoovering at night then realised it was lift. Fell asleep to the sound woke up to the sound. The single bed was not made up when arrived, went and told reception they said they would come and make it, I had to call down again at 21:30 as no had come to make bed yet....... I had been driving for a good 5 hours and just wanted to get bathed and into bed......I had a learning disability daughter with me and she was tired and wanting to get to bed too....so that was adding to the stress of my stopover. Which I might add was the purpose of the stopover to give me a break and rest and bit of luxury ......but kind of spoilt the experience for me. So disappointed with experience really.
Review 99:Good Breakfast lots of choice....food hot and well cooked. Helpful Staff.
Review 100:All good
Review 101:Premier Inn provides a no frills room, with good space, all very new. Used it as a base to visit the Harry Potter Studios. It is located in a business park.
Review 102:It was all fine - I might have preferred not to have had to order my evening meal from the bar once I had been seated in restaurant space but otherwise no porbs.
Review 103:No fuss and all necessities provided for.
Review 104:The free wifi is very slow(0.50 average) and annoyingly has to be signed in every time I shut down.
Review 105:Friendly and very helpful staff.....esspecially the girl on day shift.
Review 106:Noisy pipework which woke me in the middle of the night lasting about 30 seconds and which I heard twice again before leaving......I guess to do with the vibration when refilling toilet systern in room above ours. We were in room 118.
Review 107:All fascilities clean and sparkling!
Review 108:A few minor problems with our stay this time. Our room was quite noisyat times because we were on the top floor near some sort of fan. Wecouldn't turn the heat down on the second night and we couldn'topen the window because it was locked (the restrictor was locked too.)No wifi free or paid in the bedroom (normally not a problem but wantedto speak to our son who was away in the usa). The receptionist did offerto change our room but they were fully booked, so they did try to help.
Review 109:A great hotel. The hotel is very clean and the staff were very politeand helpful. It's in an ideal position if you are visiting the HarryPotter studios and roughly 40 minutes by train into central London. Thefood in the Brewers Fayre was delicious.
Review 110:Really helpful receptionist called Kerry welcomed us, printed us out directions for nearest station and advice for our upcoming trip to Warner Bros Studio Tour.
Review 111:The location was great. The room a good size for 3 of us. The availability and range of food ideal. We were a 20 minute walk from the train station with a direct line into London.
Review 112:Some guests were still moving around up to 3am, disturbing our sleep. Our bathroom light wasn't working, but as it was the holiday weekend we understood that it couldn't be fixed and we made do with the one over the basin.
Review 113:Friendly staff.
Review 114:Welcoming, broken lift but that didn't bother me walking up to the top floor in my wedding dress. The flowers were amazing and chocolates sooooo thank you sooo much x and complimentary breakfast the next day perfect x Also have a complimentary lunch/meal in resturant when ever we want. So see you again soon xx
Review 115:After a long day it's really convenient having a Brewers Fayre adjacent to the hotel. Great meals and fantastic value. 12 mins from Harry Potter.
Review 116:The miserable receptionist who was really rude and unhelpful when I offered cash to be told it was unacceptable without photo ID as listed on your website! Really helpful when I'm trying to check in with 3 kids. Not everyone has a credit card! Get a note scanner for goodness sake, it was £62!!! Hardly worth money laundering. What a joke.
Review 117:The fish pie and the lovely waitress in the Brewers Fayre who couldn't do enough for us.
Review 118:No bad things to report at all. As noted was welcomed right from the start. The restaurant staff were very obliging and courteous also.
Review 119:From start to finish, there was no hassle, asked for help and guidance, and the Staff always had the answer.
Review 120:Close to Harry Potter studios and Croxley tube station so good links into London. Brewers Fayre breakfast good and staff helpful at reception and in restaurant.
Review 121:Bed felt to springy but that just me. Lift broke so unfortunately I could hear everyone going up stirs, but staff couldn't apologise enough next morning.
Review 122:It's was all very smooth sailing from start to finish. No major problems
Review 123:We noticed during the night a background noise {sounded like a generator) we were on level- one at the back. Staff could not offer us an explanation the next morning, as to what it was, but they did offer that we could move to another room. As we were only there for one more night after our complaint, we stayed 'put' because too much hassle after unpacking and spending one night in our designated room already, otherwise. we would have moved.
Review 124:Friendly helpful staff. Pleasant ambience.
Review 125:Restaurant quality is not very good though service is quick. No other food options within walking distance apart from an off licence round the corner. Vending machines erractic, often don't work, staff not bothered if money lost in machines just tell you that the machines are rubbish as if it is your problem.
Review 126:Bothe myself and husband could feel the bed springs and didn't sleep well plus the toilet seat was only attached by one hinge and was therefore wonky when you sat down.
Review 127:Brewers fayre attached was useful.
Review 128:Limited amount of tea & coffee available - would have liked the opportunity to make ourselves cups of tea/coffee on both arrival & the following morning.
Review 129:Friendly & polite staff. Good breakfast. Convenient location for Rickmansworth, where we were attending a special birthday party.
Review 130:Bed/Pillows were very poor none of party had a good nights sleep.
Review 131:Value for money although more condiments could be placed into the rooms for guests.
Review 132:Heating unresponsive..cold room until able to turn on at 6am. When toilet light on the squealing from the fan unacceptable had to use bathroom without light on impractical. Spring in right hand side of double bed everytime sat up would ping up after you.. Not ideal.. And booking it said 89.00 but was charged 97.75?.. Different price. I did leave these complaints with desk staff on exit
Review 133:Nice clean room
