Reviews for Dimple Well Lodge Hotel

Review 1:It's "not a dislike" as such but the kitchen area didn't have any cutlery at all, not even teaspoons, or crockery. It has a toaster and tea/coffee faculties but no utensils.

Review 2:The cottage is lovely, suited our purpose.

Review 3:It's said kitchen in the suit so we took drinks with us to enjoy but as their idea of a kitchen is just a toaster in a cupboard not what we expected to be honest.

Review 4:Cheap for honeymoon sweet

Review 5:we felt a little judged as there was an event and received some downgrading looks as we were underdressed for the environment

Review 6:the hotel was very pretty, and we were checked in and shown to our room very quickly.

Review 7:did not use room service did not have breakfast but 2 time I have stayed always stay when ever I'm away on business there and as for the curry it's brilliant .Great place

Review 8:have not found a thing not to like

Review 9:Not a high level of cleanliness - at least one 'fresh' towel was dirty. Poor maintenance level within rooms - missing shower rail in one room, broken window latch/lever in another. TV in one room had access to only four channels!

Review 10:Breakfast was good. Staff were friendly enough.

Review 11:No complaints at all

Review 12:Friendly helpful staff , nice clean comfortable room including soft bed, everywhere clean neat and tidy. Lovely breakfast hot and plenty of it.i loved the location in the piece and quite and lovely view

Review 13:Only BBC1 available on the tv? We prefer Radio 4 in the morning. No big deal, had my MP3 player.

Review 14:Staff, food, ambience. Our guest for dinner, living some 400 paces away, will return.

Review 15:Bathroom a bit small and bed very hard. Would request softer bed next time.

Review 16:Great warm welcome, excellent food . Nice pleasent surroundings, excellent service and comfortable bar and restaurant area. Would request a softer bed stayed in room 7.

Review 17:The only down side was the noise from the road but it was nothing that earplugs couldn't fix.

Review 18:Lovely staff. The lady who checked me in waited up for me as I was running late. I didn't catch her name but it was nice to have a warm welcome. The room was cosy and everything worked fine.

Review 19:The view out of our window showed a rear entrance compiling of old funiture and fridges. The rest of the hotel was pleasant.

Review 20:I stayed with my young family for one night in December. We had a large family room. The room was clean but looked tired. As though it used to be excellent but had not been maintained. Condensation on windows and an electric radiator had me concerned as it was freezing outside. However when we returned later that evening the room was warm and central heated. Interior decor was a little tired, shower was a dribble reduced to a drip when sink tap was used. Tv wires hanging precariously, which was dangerous for our children. Bed was incredibly comfortable. Hotel was quiet and friendly. Staff although scarce were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. So with a little money spent the Guesthouse could easily improve its ranking from good to excellent.

Review 21:It was very cold in the room I was in. Asked manager to sort heating out. Told me someone would be up soon. Waited 30 mins before I went to find staff to sort it. Heating came on but wasn't enough for the room really. Was still biting cold so asked another member of staff for a blanket. Said member of staff gave me an extra duvet which I was thankfull for. There was no heating on before 9am following morning. Asked to be moved. Wasn't a room available apparently. Probably wouldn't book again based on this experience. I

Review 22:Close to all amenities and on a bus route to Wakefield or Ossett. Staff were friendly enough.

Review 23:Noise from reception, dining room, can hear every word. Kitchen table, but no chairs at all. A plate would be useful. More than one single glass. Coffee table that's not wobbly. Cutlery would be handy. Found kettle in the bathroom sink. Only one out of four lights worked in the kitchen.

Review 24:Wi-Fi Bed was quite comfortable

Review 25:Arrived at 8.30 pm and room had not been cleaned from the previous guest. I had to wait in the bar while this was done. Also I was over charged on the advertised price but didn't realize this until I returned home.

Review 26:Smell of sewers (pooh)in my room for 4 days. Room 10 Inconsistent food standard, even though I had the exact same meal twice, it was frozen chicken the second time. Very small room and shower cubicle

Review 27:Staff member Shakil

Review 28:If I were to criticise, the only thing I would say is the check out time (10am) is a little too early.

Review 29:My stay was a very short stay, the staff are faultless, extremley helpful and make you very welcome. The hotel is in a very peaceful and pretty surroundings. I would stay there again!!

Review 30:Only negative , was wifi did not work properly in my room, so could not work on laptop so had to watch Tv and sadly signal was intermittent

Review 31:Close to work, helpful staff, would stay again

Review 32:Fire exit blocked Food sent back very poor standard, dirty room, cold shower, noisy till 12.30am(staff) Fire exit blocked and not first time this has been reported on here! Not at all a 4 star

Review 33:Nothing!

Review 34:It was a bit cold and I have asked receptionist to turn on the heatingfor a several times and he promised to me he would do it, but he hasnever made it !!! I was freezing all night, what was unacceptable andnot proffesionall.

Review 35:Nice small Hotel close to Dewsbury centar. Everything is cosy, very nicerestaurant as well as bar at Hotel. Rooms are also nice. Nice big gardenwhere you can enjoy your free time and take a rest. Free wifi and goodparking. Good value for money !!

Review 36:The younger members of staff seemed strangely distant, not rude but definitely disinterested. Older members of staff were attentive, helpful and friendly so it is hard to understand why the younger ones were not more motivated. Put this right and this hotel would jump straight into our top 5 of places to stay.

Review 37:This is a small family run hotel with genuine character. It is not in a perfect location but this is reflected in the very good room rates. The bar is contemporary with lots of comfy seats, an attractive conservatory leads to large well established grounds with lost of outdoor seating. We stayed in the cottage suite which offered excellent space and comfort with a particular mention for the double jacuzzi bath (decadent and indulgent we loved it!) Overall if you are sick of faceless Travelodge clones this hotel will put a smile back on your face.

Review 38:Minor faults.Shower door did not close fully because of the position of the shower unit. TV kept losing signal. But nothing major

Review 39:The helpful staff and easy of checking in.

Review 40:Room 4 in need of modernisation , very cramped ,however wouldn't take long to sort out. Done up you would get a lot more than £40

Review 41:Staff very friendly , fine for £40 per night. Woken up to the sound of tropical birds in someone's aviary felt like I was in South America and not Ossett

Review 42:A hidden gem

Review 43:Shower didn't work Bed not very comfortable

Review 91:Nothing about this hotel is good

Review 92:No DVD player, tv size of laptop. No hairdryer. Bedside lamp broken. Rubbish on carpet and very dusty. Treated like an inconvenience by staff- all lights off and door locked in morning with no one in sight. Building supplies and ironing board on show and blocking fire exit.

Review 93:Sheets were clean, hotel quiet

Review 94:very small room and en-suite, bed felt like it was made of concrete, missing fittings, very poor overall made worse because it could and should be so much better

Review 95:Good staff, excellent breakfast

Review 96:They need to think about the cottage bedroom window . It looks right over reception and you can hear every word when they answer the phone . Not something you want to hear in an honeymoon suite. When you open tge blind it looks onto reception . Not sure if its double glazed . But needs some kind of soun proofing sorting out it felt like they where stood next to me having the conversation. Could do with some played and cuterly in the kitchen part has a toaster but nothing to put it on .

Review 97:It was a warm.and friendly place . Staff where first class. Service was excellent

Review 98:Nothing. Fantastic place

Review 99:Never before have we such friendly staff. What a welcome for us and our dog. Couldn't do enough for us. The evening menu and service is superb. The best nights sleep for half the price experienced. Will be back if just to work our way through the Indian menu.

Review 100:when we arrived in the evening we stood at reception for 5 minutes where people were sat a few feet away eating their evening meals, reception could not find a key and just gave us another room with the housekeeping key. On arrival it seemed they were not expecting us, We did book the same evening but was a bit concerning.

Review 101:The staff were very friendly and well presented and polite the room was comfortable and clean.

Review 102:room was cramped, had a struggle to pass the bottom of the bed, not a proper ensuite, just a sliding doot that did not reach the ceiling, you could see and hear everything in the so called ensuite, one duvel was very dirty, wouldnt use ever again

Review 103:Nobody was at reception when I arrived and it took quite a while for me to get the attention of a member of staff to check me in. Was then informed the room I had booked wasn't available but luckily there was still one free. One of the 'clean' towels had orange stains all over it. There was a broken light in the shower cubicle and the shower lead was broken and showed the plastic hose and all the toiletries although very pleasant smelling were all out of date. I had also booked breakfast and asked of that was ok as I was vegetarian and did they have anything available. Was told that wouldn't be a problem. In the morning I asked for eggs mushrooms and beans to be given eggs beans and sausages. When I asked if they were veggie she said no and apologised and said she would take them away. To my surprise rather than take the plate away and bring fresh she got a spare fork and side plate and just picked them off the plate! Was looking forward to staying here as with it being a last minute booking as it's a beautiful hotel but if I stay again I really hope they take more care with the little things.

Review 104:Bed was clean and very comfy. Was booked last minute as I was feeling a bit ill.

Review 105:This is a great venue at a great price. Staff were excellent and the Indian food on site was high quality and a reasonable price for a hotel. The Honeymoon suite was amazing

Review 106:No fridge or sink in the kitchen. Lack of privacy due to bedroom overlooking the restaurant and external dining/drinking area.

Review 107:The staff were great, incredibly friendly and tried so hard to make us welcome. LovelySunday ky The 4 poster bed and sharer jacuzzi bath were nice touches/ Plenty of room in the living area, nice sofa etc.

Review 108:Carpets in public areas looking a bit worn and require deep cleaning Shower room requires some maintenance i.e. no towel rail, light in shower broken

Review 109:Indian food in the restaurant Friendly staff

Review 110:Through Booking.com I booked a smoking room, only to find they don'thave smoking rooms. I would not have booked if I had known! Get yourfacts straight Booking.com

Review 112:Staff were very friendly it was lovely evening so we sat out in lovely gardens and had a few drinks from bar. We have booked again and going to try the curry which smelled lovely

Review 113:Bathroom/toilet didn't have separate door to main room.

Review 114:Friendly staff, excellent value for money, location, modern tv with full range of channels, nice toiletries!

Review 115:Room was very small and en-suite was ridicoulsly small. Breakfast was cheap but not very well cooked or presented. The whole place seemed to be run by one person - he checked us in, showed us our room, woke us up ( we had asked for a wake-up call ) and cooked the breakfast!

Review 116:Pleasant and helpful staff.

Review 117:Too many things did not work properly: radiators, lights, tv in room. The menu in the dining room (the Bollywood Lounge) was almost entirelyIndian as was the music coming from the tv set.
