Reviews for Elit Hotel

Review 1:- No lift, but there are only 2 storeys.

Review 2:- Good location, just 500 meters to Keleti Station - Very friendly and helpful staff - Very spacious rooms - Cosy pub at the entrance

Review 3:When you are staying on the front side of the building, the street can be quite noisey. The hotel is located on of the busiest streets in Budapest and - because it is an old building - the isolation is not very well.

Review 4:Great staff, good location and easy to find. Nice, clean rooms.

Review 5:entrance from a pub, was not clean and very old. feel like some place for people who got so drunk at the pub that they need to stay overnight.

Review 6:only the location.7 min walk from the train station.

Review 7:- Wi-Fi was not reachable in our room no. 12 - Bathroom could have heating

Review 8:We stayed in this hotel for one night during a connection for our flight, so we admired its location which is literally just 3 minutes of walk from Keleti rail station. Our room was clean and the bed was comfy. Definitely a good price/value ratio.

Review 9:Poor WiFi reception in the room in which I stayed. The quality of the signal was good from the doorway and hall but dropped significantly as you moved into the room.

Review 10:Just outside the Budapest Keleti train station, this is a nice hotel with well kept rooms at a great price. The staff are friendly and helpful and the breakfast is pretty good too.

Review 11:We had to sit in hallway to access wifi, but was still comfortable. If traffic noise bothers you ask for a quite room.

Review 12:Great central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable family room.

Review 13:The overall cleanliness of the room can be improved a bit. It's not enough to clean just the visible areas of the room. Also, a bit of noise from the neighbours, but not that of a problem.

Review 14:Good quality as always, friendly staff, close to the train station and everything needed inside the room. Very comfortable bed!

Review 15:our room was located at the front of the hotel was faced onto a busy main road so if ur a light sleeper request a room at the back of the hotel..It didnt really bother us..A kettle in the room would be nice to.

Review 16:Hotel was only a 5 min walk from the main train station and about a 10-15 min walk from town...Room was lovely, clean..The man that checked us in was lovely...very friendly and helpful...wud def recommend this hotel to fellow travellers...We got excellent value for 1 nights stay...We had room only but if u wanted breakfast it was only 5e extra...wud def stay here again..

Review 17:TV cnannels all in Hungarian and a limited selection of programmes to watch. Would be good to have news channels in English / German. I was ok carrying my heavy case up the stairs but would the staff offer to help if someone was less able ?

Review 18:The room was huge and high ceilings...was pleasantly surprised. Mattress was excellent. Electric sockets in good locations and very comfortable with plenty of hanging space for clothing. Bathroom fine too. very good value for money.

Review 19:Nothing

Review 20:Quite the hidden gem - staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, the place is very nicely set out with a small courtyard between the bar and hotel. The room was modern, spacious and comfortable. Very convenient for Keleti - will be back!

Review 21:We didnt have AC in our room but eventually we didnt need it. Ask. specifically if it's importanat you

Review 22:Huge room, very clean and comfurtable. Very nice and calm. staff. very quit and cousy hotel, nice to hang. Few minutes from keleti or Blaha metro station. We enjoyed it very very much!!!

Review 23:The wifi was very very weak, i didnt like that each time a tram is passing the floor was like shaking, i didnt like to let the key for my room to the front desk and the breakfast was very very disapointing.

Review 24:The location in good, near Arena shopping center and main train station Keleti.

Review 25:The receptionist on duty on the day Robert was ever so helpful and friendly. His personality, knowledge of the areas was exceptional, nothing was a problem. The same for rest of the staff, they were all very friendly and assisted us when needed. It was a clean place to stay, close to everywhere we wanted to go and close to the train station.

Review 26:Leaky unstable shower. But that is about it.

Review 27:The staff was amazing, would do practically anything to make your stay in Budapest the best it could be. Beds were comfortable. Showers not so much, leaked badly with old towels but that can be over looked as the staff was so friendly. The bar stayed opened as long as we wanted a drink. Close to train stations so transportation was easy enough with about an 8 minute walk. Did I mention the bed was comfortable? The TV was from the late 1980s or early 1990s, don't even bother.

Review 28:part of the staff , not all were really unfriendly . when we asked for the remote for the AC the told us we should open our window for 5 min and it will be ok , only after we insisted on getting it they gave us the remote

Review 29:Rooms are nice but not as in the description: not soundproof at all, no flatscreen TV with satellite channels, no telephone etc. The only cleaning done during our stay was taking out the garbage and changing the towels.

Review 30:We liked the hotel and would recommend it.

Review 31:There weren't much facilities to be mention. Worst thing: NO AIRCONDITIONING. It was very hot and humid. No fridge-safety box- elevator.

Review 32:The location was great for someone who is traveling by train, there is a supermarket near by, it's best for a short duration.

Review 33:Too noisy. Considering the hotel's disposition on the busy avenue and summer stuffiness it posed quite a problem to me...

Review 34:Overall, a very pleasant stay

Review 35:The hotel was situated behind a pub.. Had to enter through the pub.

Review 36:Staff were very friendly, especially Robby.. He was fantastic and helped us when we had problems with transport. Rooms were brilliant, very spacious and very close to the main train station.

Review 37:Taxi driver charged far too much and did not take me to the door of the hotel. When I turned the corner there was the railway station right in front of me—only a couple of hundred metres away. This was not the hotel's fault, of course, but traveller's should be aware of the taxi tricks.

Review 38:I was not feeling very well after having come from an early train. The staff allowed me to check in sooner than usual and left me undisturbed while I slept during the day.

Review 39:If you have a problem to walk ladders, don't prefer to stay here. There is no lift and you must walk many ladders for upstairs.

Review 40:Everything was fine! The building is historical. The room was clean. Oo the bed was very very good! The bathroom is qualified! Also you can go subway station by walking and take a bus in front of the hotel. Good choice to stay!

Review 41:For the breakfast was served mouldy bread. The staff at the breakfast room was unpleasant. The tables dirty. The windows at the room very dirty.

Review 42:The reception staff were helpful.

Review 43:TV only with few channels, all in Hungarian. The WiFi is unstable and not always available

Review 44:Good location, our room was very clean and spacy. Good value for money

Review 45:Wifi wasn't consistent across devices.

Review 46:It's was close to Keletti Train station which ran major lines to most metro stations within Budapest and had a railway to other destinations ie Prague. Close to bus stations and had a range of local amenities close buy. The room was clean and staff were helpful. The hotel is a 25minite walk to the city centre but has a bus stop outside for those who don't wish to walk.

Review 47:Did not like the facility itself. Poor lighting. Entry to the facility was through a pub. Breakfast was mediocre. WIFI signal was weak. Staff was often not available. No lift. So the bottom line is that you get what you pay for.

Review 48:Liked the location and price.

Review 49:Unable to use the wi-fi and got absolutely no help from the staff

Review 50:good position close to bus and rail stops and station. Easy walk to the station during the day even with suitcases.

Review 51:the hotel is located near the Keleti train and metro station. Walking towards the city centre takes around 20 minutes, there are nice places close by however. Staff is helpful and friendly and the hotel has a 24/7 reception which quite nice considering Budapest night life. Room are spacious and clean and really dood value!

Review 52:Small point i want to make is that hot water was broken in the middle of the night at 5 degree Celsius for the first night stay. However, with great care of the staffs, the problem was solved within couple hours. And, for those who have problem carrying heavy luggage on upper floor, this hotel provided you no elevators so you must to bear in mind.

Review 53:The location and breakfast were really impressive. I did not expect to have such good quality of food with the amount I paid. Train station was just 5 minute walk with bus station across the street. Supermarket was just around the corner so you did not have to worry about the food. With such quality food, location and very helpful staffs, I will certainly recommend others and come back there again.

Review 54:The shampoo smell in the bathroom!!!

Review 55:- Location is good, walking distance to metro and railway stations and the city park... - value for money - staff are so nice and helpful - the terrace is perfect for smokers (with a drink it's even better)

Review 56:There is no elevator in the hotel - a bit problem if you are in the 2nd floor with heavy suitcases

Review 57:Very good location in budapest, there is a supermarket just under the hotel, staff very friendly and helpful

Review 58:No real reception, the entrance through the hotel pub-bar. No elevator, and difficulty to pay with credit-card, as the night personal was not responsible to do this transaction.

Review 59:Very good place, near the railway station, the metro and the center.

Review 60:The bed was not very clean, no toiletries provided. Staff was not very helpful.

Review 61:Location was superb. Keleti station is just a stones throw away, there is a supermarket (Aldi) very close, the hop-on hop-off stop is opposite to Hotel. Room ceilings are high and the breakfast for 1500 HUF was OK.

Review 62:- no elavator - no fridge in the room - no soundproofed windows

Review 63:- modern, clean room with spacious bathroom. - good location, close to train station Keleti pu

Review 64:The wifi was very low into the room, practically absent. The room wasn't perfectly cleaned, but at an acceptable level. The entrance of the hotel is through a pub (!). But, in my point of view, for the price we payed, it was sufficient.

Review 65:Placed near the metro, the windows of our room faced a quiet street also if sometimes we heard some ambulance. The room was really big, also if the walls were bared and the furniture were old and low-priced.

Review 66:Hotel is in an old building, so you have to walk outside through an internal yard to get from the room to the reception or breakfast hall and there is no elevator. Television is a small CRT from 100 years ago.

Review 67:Close to Keletti train station (5 min walk), price was fair, room was clean, breakfast was good and staff was friendly and helpfull. Soundproof in the room was pretty good, no noise from the busy street outside.

Review 68:Could be cleaner. Don't stay if you mind noise from the main road.

Review 69:Was looking for one night near the train station Keleti hence stayed in Hotel Elit. The location was satisfying. It took only 5 min to walk to Keleti.

Review 70:Fresh coffee at breakfast please!

Review 71:A remarkable setting hidden behind an ordinary frontage. As a single traveller it is always a bit daunting when you first arrive somewhere. In this case I felt welcomed and at ease from the outset.

Review 72:If you really focus, you may find the noise from outside a bit too loud. But nothing to ruin the overall good experience.

Review 73:It's the second time we come here and for sure, not the last one. Very friendly staff, they even recognized us after more than one year from out first visit. Confortable bed, large room and nice shower. Rooms were warm enough for winter season

Review 74:Access to wifi was not that great from the bedroom.

Review 75:The staff was extremely nice and friendly. The room was spacious and clean and very good for value. I like the bar at the entrance of the hotel.

Review 76:Towels were not changed. It's not a tragedy for two days, as we stayed, but still... Shower cabin was leaking, because of lack of towels, the floor was wet:(

Review 77:Staff is very friendly, help with everything. Location is good, rooms are very wide and large, light, good furniture, comfortable and fresh beds, very clean. In general, I would stay here again.

Review 78:Wifi is unreliable - can be quite slow during the day (and very fast early in the morning or at night). There is optional breakfast (5 eur), but nothing spectacular. Eating out might be a better option.

Review 79:Great value, clean, some rooms are quite spacious, a five minute walk from the central train station. Friendly staff. Very comfortable bed.

Review 80:- Too much noise from the traffic - the windows are old wooden ones, not plastic - The Wifi was very slow or inaccessible in the room - The shower wasn't appropriately cleaned - some mould was present. This should have been cleaned by the cleaning staff regularly by bleach.

Review 81:Near the center and Keleti. Price/value is rather good

Review 82:The hotel entrance is through a pub, which is very strange The man in charge is the bartender and hotel receptionist Wifi not working Pillows were too old and uncomfortable

Review 83:Location excellent Staff very helpful and polite Very good value for money

Review 84:Wi-Fi poor in room but better in the bar. Access to the hotel is only via the pub, no separate entrance.

Review 85:Very comfy bed. Friendly staff, especially Pavel who couldn't do enough for you.

Review 86:Windows face Rakoczi street so it was extremely noisy inside. Wi-Fi was weak and worked only near the door. Reception boy also works as a barman and usually is out.

Review 87:The room was spacious enough. The hotel is near to Budapest Keleti railway station.

Review 88:Nothing worth mentioning.

Review 89:The room we had was awesome. Bed is huge and the room pretty cosy. The wifi works perfectly and location pretty good. Walking distance (5 minutes) to Keleti Palyudvar

Review 90:Nothing. Nincs.

Review 91:Very friendly and helpfull crew, nice place to be and stay. Slept very good, and a nice breakfast, even I forgot to order,I could use the breakfast service! Nagyon jó ember munka elit hotelban,és mindig segíteni! Jó aludtam és finom reggeli. Biztos gyors vissza ott, elit hotel. Köszi szépen!

Review 92:All was quite good, of course the entrance straight to the lively and noisy street coud be better..

Review 93:Excellent staff, and though the hotel doesn't look that appealing from outside, our room with two balconies was just lovely, high ceiling gave the sense of a larger and lighter room. It was cosy

Review 94:> Sleep quality was not good. You can not sleep well during sunrise. The rooms looking at the main road receive so much noise!! I highly recommed to take a room at the backside.

Review 95:> Close to old town (15 min by walking) and Keleti train station (5 min by walk.) > Wi-fi works good > Room are so big and comfortable > Breakfast is 5 €, also it was PERFECT > There is a market near the hotel > A man at the reception was friendly and helpful.

Review 96:Everything in Budapest is a hustle, just be aware of that. There's no lift and it was a three flights climb for me. The breakfasts were only fair.

Review 97:It's just down from the train station and Metro. The staff were nice. There's a "Hop on,hop off" stop right across the street. The staff were nice enough and it was quiet.

Review 98:A bit of a far walk from the city center, maybe 30 minutes, and the hotel is somewhat close to a shady area of Budapest.

Review 99:The staff at Elit Hotel is so helpful and friendly- they made the trip for us. The hotel is close to the Keleti train station and the ruin pubs. We stayed in the family room, which was a great value for myself and my 3 friends. We had plenty of room for us and all of our luggage.

Review 100:Breakfast buffet left a lot to be desired--only hot food was eggs and sausages, and these were not so good. The coffee is instant, so be prepared. Leaving your room key at the front desk was a little weird, not something we were used to, might be a thing if you are coming and going a lot.

Review 101:The room was a good size, clean and well-maintained, and was what we expected from the pictures/ description. Staff was helpful. It is close to a subway station and other public transit, but if you want to walk it's a bit far.

Review 102:Internet connection did not work at all

Review 103:Friendly staff, great breakfast, decoration of hotel's corridor is really beautiful. This was my second time, and I will definitly come back

Review 104:Wifi was spotty inside our room, but the main bar area downstairs had good Wifi.

Review 105:Easy to walk there from train station. Clean rooms and bathrooms. Easy check in. No headaches.

Review 106:Our first time in the beautiful elegant Budapest, and this is Hotel was one of the good things for its location, really central and close to the main transportation (main station, metro, bus stops, tour bus stops) and few minutes walking from the main streets! We stayed 4 nights and thanks to the guys at the reception, my boyf. and I had a lot of fun and have been well assisted for all! Nice place, not luxury hotel, but good to enjoy the city at low price. Marina & Alessandro from Italy

Review 107:Wifi only working at the bar. The room we had was the smallest of all the building (the emergency exit plan shows the size of the rest of them). After kindly asking why the wifi didn't work, the woman said: "work in bar, yes?".

Review 108:Keleti station is very close to the hotel, clean rooms, kind of hot.

Review 109:Wi fi was terrible barely worked and when it did constantly dropped out.

Review 110:Robert the guy on the front desk was very helpful and informative.Rooms were very large and clean. Only a short walk to the station

Review 111:The wifi in the room was spotty at best... which was much more important to me than having a large flat Screen tv in the room that had no news or programming in English. My experience at Hotel Elit was fine... but when I arrived and had to walk through the dark bar to register.., I was concerned I had Chosen badly. The typeface on the front of the Hotel has a lurid Quality that also set me up to expect the worst. It was not the worst at all, the room was really fine. If the wifi had worked I would have been happier. The proximity to the Train Station seemed important to me when I booked the Hotel... but I would choose a location more centrally located if booking again... it was a good 40 minute walk to the Danube, which is a bit far after dark.

Review 112:The Hotel was quiet and the staff available and friendly. The room was large and clean. The bathroom had been updated and was spotless. The courtyard was central and has decent wifi.

Review 113:Stairs!!! A lift would be nice but in old buildings I can only dream:)

Review 114:The staff were friendly and helpful. They were there 24 hours to help. Great central location 3 minute walk from train and metro stations

Review 115:The room is a bit small but enough if you don't have too much stuff with you.

Review 116:the hotel is very well located, 5min walk from the train station. Beds were comfortable and the room looked clean.

Review 117:Room offered was a 'so called' single room more of a 'coupe', and this was not clarified at the time of booking.

Review 118:Convenient, Good connection with the main Railway Station in Budapest.

Review 119:The only minor problem was that there was a bar in between the entrance and the lobby, and that was sometimes inconvenient.

Review 120:The hotel was right next to the Budapest Central Train Station, and it was also right across the street from the first stop of the Budapest City Sightseeing Tour, for those who are interested.

Review 121:No smoking at the bed room..., should have a smoking room

Review 122:Reseanable price Easy to go with tram and bus Easy to find good Very close to the main train station

Review 123:No eye catching sign for the entrance.

Review 124:Really close to the main station, the staff are incredibly friendly. Clean, cosy and spacious room. Excellent place to stay would recommend to friends.

Review 125:Old windows that are not soundproof. No refrigerator in the room We foud a lot of hairs on the bed sheets, that could have been spotted easily by the cleaning personnel.

Review 126:Big room with a nice bed. Big and clean bathroom Room looked recently renovated.

Review 127:Comfort and Location are excellent for the money, but what I really liked was in fact the service. Staff was very friendly and polite, they all speak english and they are eager to help with everything. I recommend them with all my heart.

Review 128:Both the staff at the reception was very friendly and helpful, they helped me and my friend find the right train station and gave us good info about the city. The hotel Is in a great location in the center of Budapest there are a few good restaurants close and places to go out. it was an excellent choice for a fair price

Review 129:We didn't like very much the breakfast. And the rooms are not very clean.

Review 130:The room was very comfortable. The position of the hotel is good, near the metro station e bus stop. The staff is very nice. The hall of the hotel is a pub...amazing!! In addition, the hotel is cheap.

Review 131:Robert (front desk) was extremely helpful and very nice. He ensured everything including the room met every expectation we wanted. The location is idea and accessible for walking to the old city in Pest. We will definitely stay at the Elite hotel again.

Review 132:Too many stairs, too few elevators (none). Wifi passwords left on the desk obsolete and did not work. Charged 10 times the amount for the room, could not reimburse directly back to my credit card, long procedure, my money still in limbo.

Review 133:Excellent position near to Keleti railway station to catch the first morning train.

Review 134:The hotel is located at a very busy street and unfortunately the windows are not sound proof. It is really loud inside when you are there during the day.

Review 135:Comfort, room, location, value for money

Review 136:Being able to walk out of the hotel and within 2 minutes be on the metro into the city centre or even further! Walking distance to a few nice little restaurants!

Review 137:1. It is not so close to the main Budapest attractions, although you can reach them by walk in about 20 mins or in 7 by metro. 2. I usually pay some part by cash and thhe other one by card. The hotel forced me to pay either all by cash or by card.

Review 138:Its close location to the central station (5 minute walking), rooms are very comfortable, clean. Breakfast was good. Recomended to anyone who would like to visit Budapest. Lots of places to eat near the place.

Review 139:There was some road work going on untill midnight(!) on the side road so it was very noisy, stayed here 3 times in the past year and it only happened the this time

Review 140:Very good if you need to be near the Keleti Station. Rooms are clean and modern. Great for a couple of nights stay. If you want a romantic break or something more hotel like then i would probably say look for a bigger chain hotel. If all you want is a nice clean room for the night then its great. Free wifi is a bonus.

Review 141:The main street rooms are very very noisy. Ask quiet room that look the side street they are ok to have a good night sleep.

Review 142:Good value for money if you need accomodation next to the Keleti railway station.
