Reviews for Best Western Park Hotel
Review 1:Very uninviting and borderline impatient/rude recorded voice in lift! Not at all in accord with the high standard of customer service elsewhere in the hotel.
Review 2:Really comfy bed, very pleasant staff and delicious food that was excellent value for money. Would have stayed longer if we could but not this time.
Review 3:The room was rather smail and tight when trying to manoeuvre 2 grown adults in the room especially when one is a 6'4" male.
Review 4:Was great that we managed an early check in as we.were going to a wedding which meant we didn't have to travel in out wedding clothes.
Review 5:Easy checking in at reception. friendly and cheerful staff. Room spacious, clean, bed comfortable with clean, fresh sheets. Good nights sleep, no noise. Tea/coffee facilities. Free Wi-Fi in room. Food very generous portions and tasty/hot. Hair dryer in room. TV with numerous channels. Clean bathroom, toiletries provided, no mould and towels changed daily. Ample parking space at front of hotel and overflow car parking at rear. Easy, quick check out. Good value for money.
Review 6:Down side, our room overlooked the bins but hey we didn't come for the view, we came for a clean room and comfortable bed which we got. Shame there was no walk-in showers for the disabled. My husband who is disabled is unable to get into a bath or to have a shower
Review 7:The clean room and comfortable bed. The reception staff especially were very friendly and the breakfast was hot and staff very kind
Review 8:I stayed in room 10, which was quite noisy if you like it quiet to get to sleep. Dripping noises onto metal conduit on the flat roof outside the window and a droning noise from a service room.
Review 9:The dining/lounge area is a good place to relax and the staff were great. Meal deals a good idea - £12.50 for 3 courses.
Review 10:There was a mechanical hum in the room, coming from outside the room but definately from the hotel. It was continous all through the night. Not very nice at all!
Review 11:The evening meal in the restuarant was very nice and very good value for money.
Review 12:Nothing?
Review 13:The hotel staff were very friendly from arrival to departure. Nothing was a problem for them. The food was very well priced and excellent value for money. Very busy which is always a good sign. Will return to his hotel again and will recommend it to others
Review 14:Rowdy guests. Road noise in front of hotel and plant room noise at the back.sleep was interrupted on both nights Wifi was poor in the lounge and in the room , drops out .
Review 15:Breakfast staff especially Marge were excellent all staff were very good Fixed price food very good value for money Water pressure excellent
Review 16:Room a bit small, breakfast saved by very nice and professional waitress. If you know you have an American Football team staying, FILL THE BUFFET, tell people wifi password, and to keep key card away from mobiles.
Review 17:Good location clean
Review 18:The staff apart from a waitress called Jody appeared down and uninterested in the guests. The bar is in the restaurant area and if you get a drink you have to sit in the foyer. The reception desk is at the back of the hotel. The rooms are tired and past their best.
Review 19:Hotel close to city centre.
Review 20:The fire alarm went off in the night waking everyone an then even after it still beeped for ages. The breakfast was disgusting more fat than meat on bacon very greasy. Hotel doesn't have a nice feel to it
Review 21:Average hotel
Review 22:Our room was above the dance hall and the music when on well after midnight. We asked to change rooms at 12.30am. We moved rooms and we moved to a small, stuffy room that looked like it had not been clean for a long time. There was grim and dust all around the bathroom. We could hear still the music from this room as well. We barely spelt a wink and we were staying in the area for a work function the next day. The next morning we complained that we had been unable to sleep and didn't want to pay. They gave us a very small discount, but frankly it wasn't good enough. I wished we didn't have to pay anything. The hotel was disgusting and loud. I will never stay there again and don't recommend anyone else does either.
Review 23:Very old and dated - NOT good value for money. Nowhere to put toiletries in bathroom. Lighting in the room was very dim, but you couldn't open curtains while getting ready as there were no bet curtains. Sheets didn't fit the bed - which was actually 2 beds pushed together. Breakfast was plentiful, but tasteless. Hot breakfast was very bland - as if cheap ingredients were used.
Review 24:The hotel was clean. Staff were relatively friendly.
Review 25:Struggled to find hotel and locals seemed not to know it. Looks like a crisis of identity! Park H, Park Lodge H,Best Western Park H. A bit of confusion.
Review 26:Central location.
Review 27:Rooms far too hot and shower not the best. Hotel seems a little tired and dated.
Review 28:Nice hotel, excellent staff and in a quiet location. Spacious rooms and clean.
Review 29:The reception area was not clean with allayed of dust on a table and smear marks on mirror. The furniture was old and had a stale/frosty smell. Carpet in bedroom had a wet patch.
Review 30:Breakfast was good
Review 31:No bad experience. Some of the surroundings were rather worn and the noise of the waitress sorting out the cutlery for lunch was pretty disturbing when sitting with the Sunday papers in the lounge.
Review 32:The location and the room and facilities were very fair for the money charged. The breakfast was very good, I thought.
Review 33:The room we was in had the air con radiators out side it and all you could hear all night was it humming
Review 34:Lovely friendly staff food very well cooked and presented
Review 35:The beds were so hard, they gave both myself and partner server backache. 2 very thin pillows were provided but they did not give any support, and no other pillows available. The bathroom could do with a really good scrub as yellow stains around the edge of the bath on the wall titles and cobwebs in the corners of the bathroom.
Review 36:The staff were very friendly and approachable, the food in the restaurant was very well pricing (£12 for 3 courses) and food was very nice and large portions provided.
Review 37:The hotel was hosting a wedding and the room we were allocated was above the front door (33) We found the noise disturbing as we had a 6.30 rise to get to Falkirk that day.
Review 38:It was a very comfortable room but my husband was unable to use the shower as he is disabled.
Review 39:Lift small and stairs hard to find. Shower was a little too powerful!
Review 40:Pleased to get a first floor room with a decent view. Quiet. We were not disturbed by any noises from the rest of the hotel.
Review 41:The willingness of the staff to accommodate our request for early check in. This was a typical hotel experience. It was nice to be able to just charge items to your room but this could not compare with the B&Bs we had been staying in. We got this reservation at the last minute when our B&B reservation was cancelled by the host three weeks before we travelled. This was a good reliable alternative for a tourist hotel.
Review 42:Only problem was we were put to a room next to the lift and a cleaners room, with air conditioners outside room window, it was noisy, but no problem on second night as shifted us immediately to a front room much quieter.
Review 43:We were able to walk to the place we came to Falkirk for.
Review 44:The rooms could have been cleaner. Sound carries extremely well at night. Poor/no good for disabled people in wheelchairs. Lift too small and narrow doors. Ramp into hotel is all uneven and dangerous for wheelchair movement.
Review 45:The staff were friendly and helpful
Review 46:The room was very small & we were there for 3 nights! We could only just get round to get into bed. There was air con ( or something like) outside which made a noise all night which was annoying for a light sleeper like me.
Review 47:Food was very nice, breakfast & evening meal. Staff were polite & helpful.
Review 48:Room a bit on the small side for an extended stay.
Review 49:The staff really went out of the way to be friendly. The bed was really comfortable. Breakfasts were huge!
Review 50:No facilities for handicapped guests in the rooms. i.e. narrow doors which make it difficult for wheelchair access.
Review 51:Central location. Easy access to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Sterling. Private car park
Review 52:Loved the welcome we got from staff and their help throughout our stay. The price was great and the location perfect for us. So nice to have proper wifi for the first time during our tour of Scotland! The bar was excellent and the prices fair.
Review 53:The washing machines in the adjacent laundry room seemingly venting into our en suite. Entering the front door straight into the lounge area was so dark and gloomy, it was difficult to see where reception was at the far end of the lounge.
Review 54:The location was central to visits we wanted to make
Review 55:The room was very small for a double and it was warm weather which made the room feel like an oven due to no air con
Review 56:The Park Hotel staff were very friendly, good team. Breakfast was excellent. Overall a decent place to rest your head.
Review 57:Room was clean, bright and spacious, I ate in restaurant both nights during my stay as very good value and good sized portions. Would recommend this hotel very highly.
Review 58:A very minor thing, but when we came into the hotel, two young male members of staff completely ignored us. A greeting even if you can't manage a smile is always welcome, and makes you feel welcome
Review 59:Breakfast staff were friendly and helpful
Review 60:Receptionist staff on arrival ! Put us in a room that already had ppl init when we walked in !! And also never put our payment through and as wewere leaving tried to bill us again
Review 61:Bed & shower
Review 62:Shower unclean. Shower curtain filthy. Bathroom floor dirty. Cigarette smoke smell coming through the ventilator shaft.Reception and dining areas smelt musty. Dinner meal overlooked and inedible.
Review 63:I didn't like the fact that most tables were set up for dinner, leaving only the cramped little tables available for breakfast I also didn't like being brought mixed toast rather than being asked which I preferred (as I had been the previous week !)
Review 64:The staff were very friendly and the quality of service was exceptional. Our room was spacious and comfortable (especially the bed!), and the food was excellent. Would highly recommend a stay at the Best Western Park.
Review 65:External building is not attractive, & room looked onto flat roof with air conditioning units at the rear of building. These units were noisy at night.
Review 66:Friendly & helpful staff
Review 67:Can't think of a thing!
Review 68:Comfortable room (twin) and a decent size, facilities about average for the better Best Western hotels we have stayed in. Breakfast was superb and lots of choices. Very close to the Falkirk Wheel, which is a must see. Evening meal is a bargain and excellent
Review 69:Room 4 (double) was very small and minimal. Lack of seating facilities in reception area. There were several functions on during our stay , so lounge/ reception area was too small to accommodate guest in the evenings.
Review 70:Excellent Staff who were very pleasant, helpful and made the experience, particularly the restaurant and waitresses staff.
Review 71:The staff were very helpful and patient when we accidentally overslept and checked out a little late. The free wifi worked seamlessly and breakfast was easy and informal.
Review 72:the room was rather small for the amount we paid. we were expecting a little more. lift was also extremely slow and there was only 1 available
Review 73:Staff at dinner and breakfast were pleasant. had a great welcome also.
Review 74:Hotel internet was lousy.
Review 75:Location for Falkirk Wheel. Evening meal was excellent - price and choice. Bar prices for a hotel were very reasonable. Plenty of parking.
Review 76:Great location for exploring both Edinburgh and Glascow - used it as a base for accommodation either end of a canal boat tour. No fridge in rooms but staff were helpful in storing our boat perishables in the catering fridge night before we set off.
Review 77:The waiter who showed us to our table stood by while my 93 yr old mother struggled to pull out her chair. At breakfast I found a fly in my porridge. I reported it and received an apology.
Review 78:A convenient position for visiting the Falkirk Wheel. The restaurant in the hôtel meant we didn't have to look for somewhere to eat.
Review 79:All staff extremely freindly and couldn't do more for you, meal portions were huge and great value, breakfast staff bent over backwards to help, cleaners were freindly and courteous and very thorough every morning
Review 80:Service at breakfast was poor. Also no buffet second day. The voice giving messages in the lift is awful..and patronising.
Review 81:Good location. Reception was very helpful.
Review 82:Free wifi but it was very slow maling businees a little difficult
Review 83:I felt relaxed the minute i walked in even though there was a large wedding party there.I can not fault the customer service and every single staff member i met was polite, happy to help and professional
Review 84:No complaints
Review 85:The friendly staff made this convenient stopover hotel somewhere to return to. Not far from The Falkirk Wheel and only a short distance from the Helix Horses this centrally situated Falkirk hotel is across the road from a lovely park. Great for a stroll or a jog.
Review 86:Small noisy room!! Even after kitchen fans went off the room had a constant noise as if a fan had been left on. The food was also disappointing.
Review 87:Cleanliness and comfy bed. Pleasant staff.
Review 88:There was no electric in the bedroom on our first night so difficult to use the bathroom and impossible to use the shower inthe dark. An apology would have been nice
Review 89:Excellent value restaurant with helpfulstaff
Review 90:Nice, quiet location. They had problems with the lights on our side of the hotel and as a result the lights in our bathroom and hallway didn't work. The staff were very helpful even though busy & quite probably stressed, we were offered alternative facilities for showers. Breakfast was simple but good, plenty of it! Nice selection to choose from.
Review 91:when I booked on line I requested a room with walk in shower as my wife is slightly disabled , confirmation came through there and then, ,but the morning we were due to arrive I got a call to say that the hotel did not have that facility, I asked why it took till the day we were due to travel to let me know this, and was told that they only look at bookings and allocate rooms on the day of arrival ,which is not much good if you needed the requested facilities , no apology was given at all ,surely bookings should be looked at when they come in and any special requests should be checked then, and customer advised at that point that certain facilities are not available at the hotel so that you can decide then if you want to still stay at that hotel, also waitresses wiping tables ,to reset them for other guests ,just wiped crumbs etc on to floor and chairs and left crumbs etc on chairs
Review 92:the breakfast was really good ,plenty of choice
Review 93:No loo brush in bathroom. Bedroom very warm after full day of warm sun. No fan or Air con.
Review 94:The Food!. Excellent buffet breakfast and great value and quality 3 course evening meals.
Review 95:Breakfast, was a buffet style the cooked breakfast had run out of srambled egg, was then topped up with cold scrambled egg. i didn't bother with the cooked part of breakfast for rest of stay...
Review 96:Location was good for what we needed, evening meals were very good value for money
Review 97:Smoking zone directly below our 2nd floor room.Asthere was a function on zone was busy, constant chatter and heavy smoke entering our room from 5pm until midnight.Complaint was not taken seriously as "there is nowhere else to put them."Untidy cigarette butts discarded around entrance. We will not stay here again for above reason.
Review 98:Location, value for money.
Review 99:The room was very small, but also was quite inexpensive so I think it was value for money.
Review 100:The people who work at this hotel were very friendly and helpful. The hotel provide an excellent 3 course dinner for ten pounds per person, which was great value for money. The room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet location with a great view of the trees.
Review 101:The rooms were very dirty and needed a good vacuuming, The room was also very hot and the beds not comfy. Finally the maids were talking loud and banging stuff at 7.30 on a Sunday morning so impossible to get back to sleep
Review 102:The breakfast was nice
Review 103:Room was too warm as no air conditioning available and the bathroom was not very clean, used soap left on bath from previous occupants and lots of hair on the tiles!
Review 104:Good location for town centre. Lovely breakfast although we had to wait a while for it.
Review 105:laundry room next to our room which woke us up very early and dirty laundry lying in the corridors most of the morning.
Review 106:comfort of bed and staff very friendly, good breakfasts.
Review 107:Requested a wheelchair friendly room with adapted bathroom facilities, was told the room was wheelchair friendly but there were no adaptedbathrooms, which I accepted as it was just one overnight stay. When Igot to the room my wheelchair scraped through bedroom door - literally, there was absolutely no turning circle for my w/chair. I could notaccess the bathroom at all and had to wash and brush my teeth downstairsin the disabled toilet before I could go in for breakfast. Also as Icould not get around the bed I had to lie upside down in the bed as Ineed to have my right leg nearest the wall to facilitate my medicalneeds. In all it was a shocking state of affairs. A huge hotel like thatwith absolutely no disabled facilities.Needless to say not recommended
Review 108:Nothing in particular
Review 109:Decor EVERYWHERE brown - very dull and depressing. Furniture, fixtures and fitting also brown. Needs to be refurbished and inject some bright colours.
Review 110:location
Review 111:They do weddings at the weekend so can be a did rowdy at night. There WiFi is poor and disappointing.
Review 112:It's well located near the center of Falkirk. It is clean tidy comfortable and professionally run.
Review 113:Well when we arrived it jst so happens a bride was arriving at the same time had to walk threw whole wedding party to get to reception desk then again when we were going out and coming back never felt so awkward in my life breakfast was like rubber and hardly ediable was kept up most of the night with noise from the corridor and down stairs felt like i was sleepin in a butlins holiday camp will bot be back but saying that the staff were really nice
Review 114:Close to town centre
Review 115:It was a bit of a walk from the town centre but the park across the road was nice
Review 116:We ate in the restaurant and the food was very good and extremely reasonable.
Review 117:Kids running around top floor (level 3) after 11pm screaming, also loud talking residents walking along the corridor Wedding party music based on the ground level could be heard from the top level
Review 118:Nice Location - within walking distance to trains and town, Breakfast was good selection View from room was good
Review 119:Showing a little sign of the hotel age and there were 'housekeeping' objects strewn in the hallway on the first floor, just makes the place look a bit untidy and unkempt. Otherwise very good
Review 120:Staff were friendly, the set menu dinner was extremely good value and the breakfast was good too
Review 121:It has always been good. Never had any problems. Great service starting with Reception through to Dinningroom staff. All exceptional.
Review 122:I've stayed at the Park 5/6 times. It's It has always been good.
Review 123:The sports bar and hotels don't mix. Had problems with some lads who saw we were using laptops etc and came over to cause bother to distract us to try to steal the tech of us while wetryied doing business. As a security consultant that has worked in hotels I recommend that you change the sports bar into a pub with real ales as it will bring better quality of clientele. Had other guests comment about the same bar.
Review 124:The lift to rooms dated very slow and small stairs near my room led me to downstairs exit at rear of hotel TV not working.
Review 125:Restruant staff friendly and efficient
Review 126:Rooms dark and noisy, stayed virtually above the function room-noisy on a weekend!...no sound proofing at all really in the rooms.Door lock didn't work very well ( room 10-doesn't feel secure at all )bed too hard and didn't like the fact that, when eating a meal, as soon as my cutlery was placed on my plate, the waiting staff immediately whisked away my plate.. fab 3 course evening food menu really ( but everything had a bit too much pepper in it too )but I'd like to enjoy it without being rushed in and out of the restaurant in under 30 minutes.... If I wanted fast food I would have gone to a takeaway instead...same at breakfast, made for a very uncomfortable feeling of staff just wanting you to leave!
Review 127:Pleasant staff, nice food, apart from too much seasoning, and hotel itself value for money for a business stay. Good bath/shower facilities and clean.
Review 128:very uncomfortable mattress, very poor quality, tables for breakfast to small not enough space for everything, not enough milks and biscuits with our tea and coffee .the room and entrance bit to dark in colour.I don't think I will return.
Review 129:being in walking distance to all shops having of the road parking pleasant staff
Review 130:The only thing we'd say is that the room lights are a little dull and the corridors could do with some brightening up.
Review 131:The hotel was a perfect location for a function we attended in Falkirk. This is the 2nd time we have stayed here. The staff were friendly and the room was comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast.
Review 132:Noisy in the morning in the restaurant. Buffet style breakfast - i prefered it when it was table service.
Review 133:Location. Dinner 3 courses for £10 Friendly staff
Review 134:Slow staff at breakfast - I was in a hurry both days and staff were not helpful - I waited 20 minutes for 2 poached eggs which never appeared even though staff were reminded twice. I had to leave for my course without!
Review 135:Staff on reception were great
Review 136:Wifi does not always work, it depends which room you are in. Perhaps hotel could put some more wifi boosters in the corridors
Review 137:Staff, hotel, breakfast, rooms. This hotel is a really nice one. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff are always welcoming and friendly and helpful. Breakfast delicious. We have been quite a few times and will keep coming back. Thank you
The Fine Print
Please note that the entire hotel is non-smoking.
