Reviews for Inter-Hotel de La Tour Maje
Review 1:too much information required to access Wifi. so come with your own connection.
Review 2:good location, close to Musée Soulages, friendly staff, clean, albeit small, room.
Review 3:Booking.com shows public parking possible on site. It would have been helpful to know that it is the underground next door.
Review 4:Central location overlooking the cathedral. Comfortable room, ok for a one night stay. We didn't have breakfast.
Review 5:Air conditioning: the apparatus is very efficient but has many modalities of use so it can take a little while before a guest has it all figured out. A brief users guide in the room could be helpful. Wifi: the booking web site listed wifi in the hotel but this did not apply to our room: coverage was non-existing. Breakfast: served on the ground floor. We had breakfast on two occasions and it leaves somewhat to be desired. On each occasion the breakfast room ran out of bread, croissants, chocolate buns, cold cuts, juice, coffee,… in fact just about everything. The staffing is probably at the basis of this as one and the same person has to man the check-out at reception and at the same time clear the tables and replenish the buffet. This service level is obviously not correct and certainly not worth the 12 EUR per person. On both occasions the person in charge of the breakfast had to leave the hotel to go buy bread in the nearby bakery. This should not happen. Parking: only park in the street or on the square adjacent to the hotel; the rates are relatively high. You will have to go put money in the meter every two hours approximately as this is the maximum time allowed per session. Parking guards check regularly if cars have valid parking tickets. The underground covered parking lot is a good option to leave your car parked for longer periods of time. The day cost is 15 EUR for 24 hrs.
Review 6:Location: at a stone’s throw from the big cathedral of the city and sits right by the edge of the historic area. Rooms: small but pleasantly decorated. Bathroom: but the rain shower is great. Air conditioner: state-of-the-art futuristic looking Daikin unit. Public space: small lobby area on the first floor with views on the street. Service: a little distant and artificial but pleasant enough. µ Conclusion: Given the small size of the rooms, the shortcomings at breakfast and the parking situation, it makes for a good stop-over hotel. The best side of the hotel is that the rooms are very pleasant, comfortable and modern. However, it is rather pricey when you look at the entire package.
Review 7:We had the window open and the air conditioning units outside were very loud.
Review 8:Very friendly and helpful receptionist/manager. Breakfast was excellent, a huge choice and delicious.
Review 9:We came during a 'Canicule' and the Air Conditioning was a great plus. Very centrally located in the Middle of Rodez old town with a lot to explore. The Tour Maje(stic) was part of the remparts of the old town...
Review 10:This was a bank holiday weekend and the staff were not working normal hours. They were kind enough to call in advance and make sure we were aware of this, whcih I think is excellent service. Parking is easy and convenient despite the middle of town location.
Review 11:No onsite carpark, although there is a public carpark next door €12.20 per 24 hours. We would have liked to have had breakfast in the hotel but this is €12 each which we felt was too much
Review 12:Centrally located, handy for the cities attractions. The room was very attractive, nice bathroom , warm and cosy with a very comfortable bed. All the staff we met were helpful and welcoming. Really enjoyed the experience
Review 13:The location was not at all as I had imagined from the website! It is difficult to locate for a driver and the underground public car park outside the hotel is unpleasant and fouled by urine! The publicity suggested that the building contained a separately run and attractive looking restaurant. This is not so! There is a fairly brash looking bar - which was closed for a month! I would suggest that people use the hotel as a last resort - and then for not more than one night!
Review 14:The suite itself was not bad. It was clean and fairly comfortable and the bathroom and toilet facilities were very good!
Review 15:Good location Biker friendly
Review 16:wifi was not fully open..
Review 17:confortable, and well located
Review 18:Smallish room for superior class
Review 19:Excellent location, marvellous view from 4th floor, very helpful and friendly staff
Review 20:The location of the hotel was fantastic, being next door to an underground car park.
Review 21:Location, ease of getting to the sites, restaurants and shopping in Rodez/
Review 22:much better than expected
Review 23:room stifling hot as air con is controlled by staff at reception. We were not informed on arrival that the air con would be turned off from 2200hrs until 0800hrs, There is no one on reception after 2200hrs. On discussing this with staff in the morning I was told I should have opened a window, Car parking situation not as advertised
Review 24:nice view of the cathedral with spacious room
Review 25:Air conditioning was only available sometimes until a complaint rectified this. Street noise made it difficult to sleep before this was done and windows could be closed.
Review 26:Room well appointed with good quality beds and bed linen.Breakfast was excellent.
Review 27:No aircon control for room. Very hot and stuffy.
Review 28:Central location. Good reception staff. Accomodation absolutely spotless. Well equipped room with "rainforest" type shower and hospitality tray. Fridge/minibar in room. Car parking (public car park) next door. 9 euros50 overnight.
Review 29:Wi-fi didn't work in our room. Room was very small and dusty. Air-con didn't work either.
Review 30:Great location in the middle of Rodez, close to bars and resteraunts. Shower room was very nice and modern.
Review 31:Breakfast - would have preferred a choice of more expensive all inclusive breakfast and a cheaper continental style cafe and croissant breakfast. As this was not offered we did not eat at he hotel
Review 32:Ideally situated - a small quiet hotel right in the centre of Rodez. The room was warm and well maintained each day.The shower room was contemporary having been recently modernised. The hotel is eco friendly with sensors for saving on electricity for lighting.
Review 33:In the heart of Rodez so very easy to explore the beautiful town. The hotel is partly built into some historic remains and this gives it some character.
Review 34:We booked as a family and yet our rooms were not allocated next to eachother. (Despite the hotel seemingly half empty). The hotel was closedwhen we arrived (siesta?) despite the email saying we could check infrom 2pm (never come across this in a hotel) The twin room overlooked abrick wall and the air conditioning units. When my husband tried tochange rooms the receptionist became very annoyed and irritated (asthough we were asking her to do something completely bizarre andunreasonable. One shower ran constantly tepid water. One sprayed waterround the room. Both were difficult to get into due to the design of theroom. God help anyone larger then average. We tried to get help from thereceptionist who was rude and unhelpful (at one pont she tried to insistshe had given us a map when she hadn't - she was clearly upset aboutthis) her body language was very easy to read!!! The receptionistinterrupted while we were discussing something as a family (she clearlywanted to 'process' us as quickly as possible). When we returned in theevening she appeared to be sitting outside having dinner with a largegroup of friends.... Again, strange. Perhaps this is not her preferredjob? All in all a very strange and unusually poor experience in a Frenchhotel. We had a very strong sense that booking online with booking.comwas a distinct disadvantage - really felt as though we were beingprocessed and deprioritised.
Review 35:It was a convenient overnight stop. There was a good view of thecathedral from one of the rooms.
Review 36:Lack of secure car parking.
Review 37:Polite and helpful receptionist. She was very patient with my lessthan perfect French. Excellent service. Very good breakfast. Verygood location.
Review 38:We were not able to check in until 6pm on a Sunday night, which we were not told about in the email. We had to hang about in Rodez for nearly two hours until the staff member turned up. He apologised profusely and made it clear that he wasn't to blame, he was just an employee that was asked to look after more than one hotel! We were quite shocked, because we had never experienced this before! It was terribly inconvenient for us however.
Review 39:Lovely room with a great view of the cathedral. Good facilities, very pleasant.
Review 40:We departed on Sunday and asked to leave our baggae at reception untilthe taxi took us to the airport: we were told this was not possible ashotel was 'closing' at midday, which meant we had to carry heavy luggagearound Rodez for three hours - not good on a hot day!!
Review 41:Staff were very welcoming and helpful (remmended a good restaurant andprovided guidance on the city), although it appears there was only onereceptionist covering the whole hotel (apart from mornig cleaners).Breakfast was very pleasant. Room was comfortable and spotlessley clean.
Review 42:Feel a bit unfair saying this as many places were closed the day Iarrived in Rodez, it being a holiday Easter Monday, but I wasparticularly disappointed that 5 minutes after I booked the hotel onbooking.com I got am email from the hotel reception to say I had tocheck in before 12 or after 6. This meant when I arrived I had to go sitin a café and wait until 6 as I was arriving by train to get there andarrived in the afternoon.I Know that it was a bank holiday and in Francethings shut I also down on those days, I just felt they could have askedthe time I was due to arrive and accomodated that.
Review 43:My room had a nice bathroom, great shower and liked the fact there was akettle in tge, room.
Review 44:Location. Good bathroom - small but good shower

Review 54:Hotel was very well located, staff were very friendly and rooms wereextremely comfortable.
Review 55:Only available parking is in public car park, busy and expensive.
Review 56:Very clean, comfortable, helpful and friendly staff.
Review 57:Not obvious that you have to use the public parking nearby.
