Reviews for The Kinmel & Kinspa
Review 1:No bad points to make.
Review 2:The staff were so nice and helpful. It was our wedding anniversary so they upgraded our room which was lovely the food was outstanding and gave us a desert on the house for me and my wife lovely
Review 3:Very comfortable room. Spa facilities looked fabulous - it was a shame we were tight for time and could not make use of them. Lovely meal in restaurant in the evening and a superb breakfast the following morning. Restaurant staff and manager all very friendly and helpful. Lovely rural location.
Review 4:Forget any peace or sleep on a Saturday night as it's Wedding day here on Saturday with doors banging, floor boards creeking above you and people and kids shouting into the early hours. Wafer thin walls and timber sub floors above add to the nightmare experience.
Review 5:Restaurant food and staff excellent. Nice gardens, nice location.
Review 6:just one girl on reception unaproachable, not friendly and helpful like all the others, shame she spoils a very good team
Review 7:good price, very good spanish waiter, very helpful very everything. deserves a promotion, Takes alot to impress my hubby but he did. hubby didnt even get up to get his own pint. he went above and beyond good service. please tell him.
Review 8:Didn't feel the staff were as friendly as they could have been the breakfast was a very small selection and the bar area was like a social club for the staff.
Review 9:Loved the spa it's one of the better ones we have been to.
Review 10:Would have been nice to have been informed that there was a wedding at the Hotel on both the nights we stayed,as was very noisy until early in the mornings
Review 11:Fantastic Spa
Review 12:Girls on reception were a little unfriendly.
Review 13:The room was excellent size & bathroom was one of the best I've ever stayed in. Breakfast was also good with nice friendly waiting staff
Review 14:Just the price I think was a little over the top. We paid an extra £70 for our room compared to what our friends paid and all we had was extra floor space!
Review 15:Pool, jacuzzi and steam room were excellent. Breakfast was excellent too.
Review 16:Door from reception slams every time someone goes through, which can be clearly heard in room. Fire exit nearest room was open all day/night so we didn't feel particularly secure. At breakfast we were served toast with no butter and coffee with no milk, both of which we had to go searching for. A young waiter came over and slammed a glass of water down in front of me without a word, which turned out to have been requested by a lady a couple of tables away. Scrambled eggs spilled on floor, staff not very interested in this until I pointed out that it was a health and safety hazard.
Review 17:Very nice bathroom / shower
Review 18:Only negative was you could hear the TV on in the next room but they could have had it turned up loud
Review 19:Lovely modern hotel beautiful clean rooms and lovely landscaped garden staff were very helpful and friendly would definitely come here again.
Review 20:On arrival we were allocated a twin room rather than the double we had booked and paid for 3 months prior. Being told we are fully booked tonight. We said this was unacceptable and somehow we were then given a double.... The staff appeared as if it were a chore to be there, they was no "enjoy your stay" on check in or "how was your stay" on check out never mind a smile from the staff The room we were given had countless cobwebs and even spiders hanging in one of them Breakfast was disappointing and slow despite being the first couple in there at 8am, we had to ask where our poached eggs were, they had clearly forgotten The bedroom walls are very thin and buy the layout of the rooms that means your head, when in bed is next to the TV In the room next door.....you can hear every word
Review 21:The spa was fantastic
Review 22:lack of atmosphere exceptionally noisy neighbouring bedroom where a party seemed to be in operation for 2.5 hours on Saturday evening-unacceptable Definitely not stay here again
Review 23:location good
Review 24:Buffet breakfast, would like it to be served. Couldn't get in car park barrier, had to ring from the car to get a code.
Review 25:Elemis products. Good breakfast selection
Review 26:Our booking had been put into the system wrong but the staff didn't really seem bothered, we are 2 seventeen year old girls who cannot drive and they were going to make us move hotels, we did not end up moving hotels but we did have to move rooms 3 times and still had to pay full price and didn't get anything taken off for the stress and time we had spent packing and unpacking and moving rooms. Very disappointed.
Review 27:Waitress let wine dribble when stopping pouring. A very small event.
Review 28:The style was modern and the staff were very helpful. The location was positioned between the mountains and the coast, within a stones throw to Bodelwyddan Castle. The food was excellent and presented with style.
Review 29:We were part of a wedding party, the food & hospitality were excellent, the rooms were very cosy & clean had the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in, would definatly recommend.
Review 30:Abergele was a bit run down, a shame as the hotel was lovely
Review 31:Great Spa facilities, Comfortable room, spacious, friendly and helpful staff. Also the value for money was excellent.
Review 32:not enough milk on the tray and couldn't get anymore and a very rude taxi driver, also room was a bit stuffy and the window was broken
Review 33:the staff were very pleasant and helpful, and the breakfast was good, the room very clean and comfortable.
Review 34:Could have a better quality coffee in the room. Maybe a cafeteria to make fresh coffee.
Review 35:Lovely big room and huge bath. The spa is fantastic and great staff. Would recommend and visit again.
Review 36:brassiere had set menu which I dint like anything on, the oriental restaurant is not authentic thai so we sent it back twice and ended up leaving hungry.
Review 37:the hotel was lovely, clean and extremely comfy beds, staff were lovely too
Review 38:Very noisy -lots of doors banging and loud voices. Disturbed sleep. Breakfast OK but no pastries/croissants on offer. Breakfast staff a bit brusque.
Review 39:Lovely setting. Presented well. Lovely shower and room was clean.
Review 40:thin sliced bread for toast for breakfast
Review 41:there was nothing it was a great break Adrian was in charge and he did a perfect wedding him and his staff made the day
Review 42:Great quality of pool and spa facility. Unfortunately for children they only can use 08:00-09:00 in the morning, but for a hotel/spa of this type it was still kind for them to let children get in even it's only early in the morning (from my experience some hotel/spa facilities forbid children to even enter the place).
Review 43:Location: It was just a little bit hard to find as it has 2 entrance. Main one is located from a small road lead from exit 24 of the North Wales Expressway and one is along the St. George Road which this hotel's address shows. Surroundings (where we went): Bodnant Garden (20 min drive), Caernarfon Castle (40 min drive), Beaumaris Castle (50 min drive) Hotel room: Stayed @ Luxury Double Room, very clean, tidy and comfortable. Staff: All of staffs were kind and very helpful. Restaurant: Had hot breakfast and it was nice. Fantastic foods and atmosphere, they even had children (baby) menu. I never expect hotel restaurants to be good but this hotel's restaurant was amazing. Both breakfast room and restaurant had high chair. Spa: Great quality of pool and spa facility. My 2 year old son loves to swim but unfortunately for children they only can use 08:00-09:00 in the morning, but for a hotel/spa of this type it was still kind for them to let children get in even it's only early in the morning (from my experience some hotel/spa facilities forbid children to even enter the place).
Review 44:Smell in corridor on way to bedrooms from reception by stairs, wether very strong cleaner or something else? But lovely place and will be back
Review 45:Countryside location Lovely meals and brekkies Spa and gym if u want to use Nice and quiet, weddings possible on weekends Nice place to relax
Review 46:Difficulty in getting a car park space due to several functions overlapping at the hotel
Review 47:Loved the refurbished rooms and lounge etc. Staff very friendly and attentive.
Review 48:Some of serving staff very young and not so professional.
Review 49:The breakfast was hot, tasty and there was lots of choice. The bed was very comfy and the room spacious and clean.
Review 50:Booked this hotel based on the leisure facilities, location and rating. On arrival (after a 4 hour drive) the children (9 & 13) just wanted to have a quick swim before dinner. Told they could only use the pool between 8 & 9 in the morning! Nothing on the website stated this restriction. Noise from bedrooms above
Review 51:Staff were pleasant and friendly
Review 52:We could not eat at the hotel restaurant until the final night as it was fully booked. Abergele is quite a walk away. The staff were less than helpful.
Review 53:The gym and spa facilities.
Review 54:My husband and I felt that, although the hotel gave the impression of being a chic, professional boutique hotel, the staff in the restaurant and bar were quite young and seemed to be nervous as if it were their first day at work. The "barman" who served us on Saturday night hardly looked old enough to be behind a bar! On Sunday morning the young waiter's hand was shaking when pouring my coffee! We were disappointed on Saturday evening that there were no tables available in the Brasserie by 8pm and that no room service would be available until 9.30pm. We ate out.
Review 55:The bathroom.
Review 56:Sheets were too small and didn't tuck in properly and the duvet cover had holes in it, as did some of the towels
Review 57:Really pleasant staff and a great breakfast. Bed was lovely and the spa can just about justify the price, it is lovely!
Review 58:Pool was a bit small, not really a dislike, just an obsevation.
Review 59:Facilities,location, good wifi and phone signal. Decent pint. Excellent smoked haddock with poached eggs for breakfast.
Review 60:There was an unpleasant smell in corridor. Rooms quite noisy. Our room was at the end of a corridor and I was woken up by very noisy guests early hours of the morning. As well as that room above us was very noisy too.
Review 61:Amazing spa and facilities. Breakfast lovely. Amazing setting in countryside.
Review 62:The room had a few problems, in that there was no hairdryer in room, which was rectified within minutes, moved us to another room which was lovely and comfy. All staff friendly and helpful. Had a treatment in the spa and used all the facilities, gym, pool, jacuzzi and saunas. Will definitely go back again. Food out if this world!!!
Review 63:We wasn't told the gate pin when we booked so us and another couple were stuck at the gate had to ring the reception There was a awful smell of bad drains by the stairs at the back of the kitchen we had to go past to get to our room Was told at 8.15pm on a Saturday night that room service had finished Breakfast I had to ask for tea and coffee then they bring it with no sugar or milk then have to get up and ask again for toast and guess what no butter. And would of been nice to have warm plates not stone cold
Review 64:The room was clean spa was lovely and staff in the spa were very nice.
Review 65:upgraded on arrival for more space Heating had been turned of in the entire bblock, theroom was freezing for first 24hrs,of 3 day stay.we were not happy guests until the heating was eventually piped through.
Review 66:food was greatexcellent dinner chrf
Review 67:Room was freezing cold when I opened the door. Radiator was turned off. The room smelt rather musty or as if it had been a smoking room. The hotel guide which was bound within a leather cover as they often are was filthy dirty on the front. They've spent a lot of money on a spa but the first impressions could be better in so much that the entrance is old and as you go up the stairs there is a door that is shabby and the walls need a good paint. Some of the Down lights in brasserie are out. The breakfast cups are cream (old style) , yet the plate was modern design and white and the coffee pot that old stainless steel version of the 70s. If they want the hotel to attract up market clients they need to look at things like these.
Review 68:Staff were friendly - girl on reception and the chap organising breakfast were v pleasant.
Review 69:This is the second time I've stayed at the Kinmel. It's a beautiful location, and the food is absolutely fantastic. The Leek and potato soup, followed by venison was just superb!
Review 70:Heating a bit on or off - but windows can be opened. £4 for a pint of coke in the bar
Review 71:Rooms well appointed Food very enjoyable, quality excellent. Pleasant, friendly staff
Review 72:The beer selection was not brilliant - usual mass-produced varieties plus a disappointing Orme View ale. A minor niggle, but not good for a lover of real ales
Review 73:Excellent, friendly service throughout. We opted for a suite as we wanted a larger bed. The room looked new and was a very clean, spacious and well equipped. We had dinner from the a la carte menu, which was delicious, with the focus being on quality and presentation rather than volume (still ample though). Very reasonable priced as well!
Review 74:There was no swimming pool as this is under construction due to complete in November and the price was not reduced considering we had hoped for a swim, especially our 6 year old
Review 75:The surroundings and outside area are beautiful in the sunshine and the food fabulous
Review 76:The girl on reception need to go or to be retrained. First impressions count for everything. When we first arrived there were a couple of small problems and the reception lady acted like she did not care in the slightest not even making eye contact. On the Internet it said swimming pool sauna etc, but on our river of arrival we were told it was all closed for maintenance we were told this was on the website but however much I searched for it and the website I booked the holiday through there was absolutely no mention of the swimming pool being closed. Very disappointing when you've driven 350 miles and all you can think of is a sauna. For this to the reception lady said well it's on the website that it's shot.....! I tell my staff to say I'm very sorry sir sorry for the inconvenience I will double check for you. It's called courtesy and manners. However the manager must have heard due to us receiving a free bottle of very nice wine during a meal.
Review 77:Everything about the hotel is very nice very new and very clean. The food is bordering on excellent and it's well worth having a chat with the chef who is a lovely man. I believe the duty manager's name is Egg. I think he has been there around 30 years and is a fantastic man. If you have any problems he will make it his duty to make them better.
Review 78:The price of drinks was very expensive, especially if you were there from 3pm until 1a.m.
Review 79:The staff were very friendly and the outside views were lovely. The food was good and the reception rooms for the wedding were very attractive.
Review 80:Good sized rooms, good food, dinner in the restaurant was superb and the raspberry soufflé was made to order and out of this world. There was a wedding party the evening we stayed but we heard no noise at all.
Review 81:Still some building work going on but it did not impact on my stay
Review 82:Food, Bar and all the staff were great, enjoyed sitting in garden relaxing after dinner.
Review 83:Shame about breakfast, really disappointing. I almost felt it was an after thought. Bacon always like rubber, needs more effort or don't bother at all.
Review 84:Location, rooms, parking, gardens, service, friendly staff, all good.
Review 85:The newly fitted bathroom looked lovely, but having to use the shower controls to change the temperature of the bath water is ridiculous. The shower tray was too shallow so overflowed when used. Much of the hotel was a building site. The website gives the impression of a historical building, but apart from a tiny bit in the centre, this is a standard, slightly run down, modern, boxy, faceless hotel. Not worth the money they charge for a room, which doesn't even include breakfast. Shan't stay again.
Review 86:Black mould in tile grouting in bathroom and stale smell in bathroom. Carpet was dirty in room and corridors.
Review 87:Large bed and spacious room.

Review 102:The lovely spacious room and the spa pool.
Review 103:the bar had no music, no pool table and little chairs and table
Review 104:the breakfast and spa
Review 105:Access to the hotel is via a narrown single track road with a lack of visible sign until almost driven past the entrance
Review 106:Spa facilities Grounds
Review 107:Pet friendly.
Review 108:Bath? Mattrass far too soft, prefer memory mattrass
Review 109:Dinner is great
Review 110:All the things that went wrong!!!!! Although to be fair, they were put right when we pointed them out.
Review 111:Location, bedroom, food.
Review 112:small swimming pool breakfast did not start until 8 am on weekend
Review 113:location room luxury bathroom
Review 114:Large room & a comfy bed. Loved the Spa facilities
Review 115:The wallpaper in the room was a bit scuffed but other than that, the room was lovely.
Review 116:The Spa oozes relaxation and the breakfast was just splendid!

Review 124:Attention to detail
Review 125:New spa
Review 126:we all felt that the beds were too soft. There was a slight sinking in the mattress.
Review 127:Staff couldn't do enough to help. The room was well spec'd, clean and spacious. It was quiet, with a very comfortable bed.
