Reviews for Midtown Hostel

Review 1:Nothing.

Review 2:Extremely friendly staff and very centralised location. Bathroom very clean. Working wifi. Pleasant vibe from the lounge. Will be back if im ever visiting nottingham again.

Review 3:No bad comments

Review 4:The guys from the hostel were super kind and willing to help all the time. The facilities are great, nice comfy living room and equipped kitchen. Toilet is big and complete (shower + toilet, easy to use). Enough socks in the room. Location is great, in the centre of the city

Review 5:- Only two bathrooms for the whole hostel. - Heating wasn't always on (it comes on only at certain times with no possibility to control it).

Review 6:- Great location in the heart of town. - Free tea/coffee. - Nice kitchen and hangout area. - Free wifi everywhere.

Review 7:Marc gave me a nice warm welcome and was friendly and helpful during my short stay (which lasted only 10.5 hours). Hopefully, next time I'm in Nottingham I'll have more time and I can have the chance to party with you guys. Maybe I'll even get my picture on the wall of fame

Review 8:Where do I start?? There was pretty much constant noise, mostly from other hostel users AND the managers, up to 4:50 in the morning. Given that their policy is to keep noise to a minimum after 10pm this was deeply frustrating, especially as the staff were complicit. I asked another user who had been there for a month (a month!) and he said that this was pretty common and that he now just sleeps through it. When I confronted the manager the next morning he seemed perplexed and asked why I didn't say anything at the time. My answer was that I was not prepared to confront a bunch of drunk people in the middle of the night and that surely it was HIS responsibility to ensure that noise levels were accceptable. I need to stay in Nottingham on another five occasions over the next month but it won't be there I can assure you.

Review 9:Kitchen was well stocked, lounge was small but comfortable, location very convenient, manager let me bring my bicycle in rather than leave it overnight outside

Review 10:In fact we didn't check carefully when we booked. I don't like sharing bathroom and in this hostel it was worse: one small bathroom for all the floor, no separation of men and women. Had to wait most of the time. The bed is not so comfortable. Blanket is small.

Review 11:Location is good, the staff is helpful. Nice kitchen with a lot of things available.

Review 12:My least favourite part of my stay was walking up all the steps when I returned there in the evening after being on my feet all day. But that will be due to my age; I am of mature years.

Review 13:It was very handy for the centre of Nottingham where I was visiting independent businesses. I was working with a group and the meeting place each morning was Yamas Greek Meze & Tapas next door. I didn't need to spend much time at the hostel so didn't use recreation area The kitchen was nice for a supper drink and morning tea. It was very convenient to have to a code to enter as I had enough to carry around.

Review 14:Rooms are not really confortable and lockers are very small (there isn't space neither for small baggages).

Review 15:The staff is very kind and especially Marek is really helpful and professional.

Review 16:Some of the beds really need replacing- very old. Had springs in my back all night. And while bedding, bathrooms and rooms are generally clean it could use a deep clean and dust.

Review 17:Excellent staff, really friendly and genuine. Perfect location but don't expect a quiet nights sleep if you come at a weekend- city centre location means it's rammed and noisy- so bring earplugs. You can cook, do laundry, generally a relaxed atmosphere about the place.

Review 18:Beds are horrible, old cheap foam mattresses that hurt your back. Staff unfriendly and unprofessional. Some people appear to be living there long-term. They are noisy and treat it like their rented house, a type of "elite", rather laughable but not pleasant since you must put up with them.

Review 19:The location is not too bad.

Review 20:The stairs are a bit of a challenge if you're staying on top floor and need to carry a lot of stuff but it's not too bad for young people :)

Review 21:I stayed in this hostel a few years ago and decided to go back because of the location and the private room for 2. So my sister and I were alone in the room and we felt quite safe. The bathroom was across the hall which is great. The complimentary tea and coffee in the kitchen is a nice touch.

Review 22:It was really cold at night and the sheets didn't do a great job.

Review 23:I like the fact that your able to go come and out at any time after you have checked in.

Review 24:Nothing much. Wish there was a blender to make a drink. No pressure

Review 25:I really liked the support provided by the guys who work. I wish I knew their name. Great sincere supportive people.

Review 26:Not applicable, except the stairs and charge per night, is a bit on the expensive side, but the location was excellently close to town. Maybe that's why it was so expensive.

Review 27:First Hostel experience, and it was pleasantly interesting. Very nice, friendly and comfy beds, wow what a great sleep we had.

Review 28:Those stairs are difficult to get up when you've had a drink !

Review 29:We stayed here for one night when we saw a band play at rock city. Pleasantly surprised , much cleaner and quieter and other English hostels beds very comfy and across the hall from the bathroom. Everthing we needed

Review 30:One of the better hostels I stayed at: very nice and comfy room, great kitchen and living room, nice atmosphere, very friendly staff, spacious and clean shower and toilet. Excellent central location.

Review 31:My room is £17.90 I kew it's no choice, it does not divide the gender I'm lucky that the guy is good but I feel not safe.

Review 32:Staffs are friendly. It's near the town centre easy for transportation to link with the railway station. You can cook by yourself, even though they are man but the kitchen is quite clean.

Review 33:When I was shown my room you could not move or get to my bed for all the luggage and clothes on the floor with what the other four people had.

Review 34:I went just for a bed for the night

Review 35:The staff was nice and helpful. Very good value for being within 10 minutes walking distance of just about everything. If no one answers with a knock, ring the doorbell on the right wall or be prepared to make a phone call to the owner (he leaves his number on the door)

Review 36:Could have done with the heating being on more during the day and night (had to huddle under the duvet if I was in during the day).

Review 37:The staff were very friendly, the bathroom was cold but certainly sufficient, the kitchen had most of the required cooking supplies and a good amount of fridge space to store your own food, the lounge had comfy sofas/chairs though we mostly kept to our room. The room was good, with two good sized single beds, fresh clean bedding and a 3 drawer chest to store our things in/on.

Review 38:Many, many stairs!!! Not advisable if you plan on getting legless or for long stays with lots of baggage!

Review 39:Clean, quiet, comfortable, plenty of facilities and great location! 5/10 min walk from train station, 2 mins from nearest tram stop (Lace Market).

Review 40:No frills, and seemingly too few showers/toilets, but given the price you can't complain.

Review 41:Straightforward hostel accommodation in a good location.

Review 42:Stairs are very steep throughout the hostel. Church bells ringing every 15 minutes - but that's not the hostel's fault!!

Review 43:Location was excellent for our purposes. Twin room was very basic but clean enough. Friendly welcome.

Review 44:Once that I arrive the guy said the reception was to messy so we couldn't go in so I have to wait in a 'kind of' a living room where nobody was talking. Very uncomcortable. Bathroom didn't look clean. Bedrokm didn't look to clean. Livingroom was just ok. No signs outside. No check in or check out. It was just a mess

Review 45:Nothing

Review 46:friendly staff, very informative and helpful. clean and comfortable rooms, beds and bathrooms, good facilities in kitchen and common area, all in all a great place to stay whilst on your travels, good value for money :)

Review 47:That first staircase

Review 48:When you walk in you might be daunted, but your stay here will be the time of your life. Make sure you get to know everyone quick, they are loads of fun. A very unique experience. I will be back for sure.

Review 49:No breakfast included.

Review 50:The staff is friendly and the whole atmosphere is family-like. Everyone is welcome there and sitting together in the kitchen or the living room. Is is located in the city center, so everything is close by.

Review 51:Everything works. Very bueno location. Comfy sofa. Tea for free probably till end of the world.

Review 101:all perfect

Review 102:clea friendly staff very kind very central

Review 103:Not bad but not the place if you want to have a few drinks.

Review 104:The staff there are really nice, very laid back, central location

Review 105:Location value for money

Review 106:Having to find parking nearby to put the car at night.

Review 107:It was a great place to stay when all I needed was a bed to sleep in & a place to shower while I was in Nottingham

Review 108:The location is good, the staff is friendly and helpful and they aren't hard-as.es about making you leave by a certain time. Except on Saturdays, when tons of tourists (mostly people from smaller nearby towns / villages) come into Nottingham to drink, the hostel is usually fairly quiet. The guests are usually pretty decent, interesting people. There is as much free coffee and tea as you can drink. All in all, the Midtown Hostel is a pretty decent place to stay.

Review 109:The service and company were excellent. The bed was very comfortable and, despite being very centrally located in an area with lots of pubs, it was very quiet (in a good way).

Review 110:A little hard to find but not a major inconvenience.

Review 111:The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly. Great location in the centre of town and very cheap.

Review 112:Unfortunately one particular guest was harrassive and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and scared. Though this is no fault of the hostel itself, it has made me hesitant to come back.

Review 113:Excellent location. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very decent price. Free wifi & hot drinks. Other guests were very friendly and welcoming and I enjoyed hanging out with them in the kitchen.

Review 114:Staff struggle with their English a bit

Review 115:Staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help Location is absolutely fantastic of you want a night out and there's no curfew
