Reviews for Ramada Wakefield
Review 1:Not as nice as most Ramada hotels - seemed a little more basic. It also smelled awful too - like smoke throughout the hotel - not pleasant as a non smoker. I wouldn't stay here again mostly for that reason.
Review 2:Location was good and easily accessible. Bed was enormous!
Review 3:As a non driver, the location was not ideal but the city centre is walkable and there are a couple of buses near by. Ideal for car drivers needing a break though.
Review 4:simple basic, and the Pizza Flatbread was to die for...
Review 5:Bed was so so uncomfortable,no chef on during the day although it said food was available, the poor receptionist was doing toastie sandwiches and chips not fair on her ...View from room window was of crates and rubbish and a table with ashtray overflowing ,made me feel quite sick......
Review 6:Staff are wonderfull, they couldnt do enough for you. Brilliant
Review 7:Not a bad word to say about the place, it's fantastic!
Review 8:I love it at ramada, the staff are all friendly and helpful, the rooms are spotless to perfection and the comfort is second to none! Always love sleeping there the beds are amazing, will definitely be going back, this was my second visit, no complaints whatsoever!!
Review 9:pleasant staff although it was only Continental breakfast Christmas and Boxing Day the staff did a fantastic job and cooked both mornings for us ,really did you proud.had to book in for an extra night because of the floods .Would stay again no problem Lovely bedroom so comfortable
Review 10:1.Quilt on bed was smaller than the quilt cover 2.Bed very uncomfortable. 3.Bed was not made up in a way experienced at other hotels, pillows just thrown back on bed and on one return not made up at all. 4. For an executive room it was very disappointing.
Review 11:Hotel was fairly close to our family we were visiting
Review 12:Food in hotel was appalling quality took forever to be cooked and then stood watching it to be brought to us for another 15 minutes. Food was not hot enough either. Short staffed lack of manager or staff. One person was on hotel reception welcoming new guests as well as serving in the bar taking orders for food and serving food.
Review 13:Decor excellent very stylish. Cleanliness outstanding. Comfortable beds.
Review 14:The toilet wasn't working properly , the bath and basin taps not working , staff very laid back, beds were smelling , no duvet for child's bed I had to ask for one,
Review 15:i didn't like anything at this hotel, ,
Review 16:Food was terrible my daughter couldn't eat hers ours was dripping in fat and the steak was rock hard, asked for a burger with cheese which was presented in a block on a plate not even taken back and melted was told chef was off so replacement was in. Ended up spending extra money to buy food in Shower handle was broken so kept going hot not ideal for kids
Review 17:Rooms were clean and good size bed very quiet
Review 18:the staff was unnumbered compared the people stay in. The remote control didn't work so i asked for a working one...never arrived.
Review 19:The building is new and modern
Review 20:Outside people had eaten and left the MacDonald papers/boxes that were over flowing in the litter box. Not a good sight to see at the entrance.
Review 21:The staff were friendly and the location wax great for us visiting family locally
Review 22:The staff were very friendly, professional and helpful. We had an evening meal and the food was excellent. The room and facilities were well maintained and attractive.
Review 23:electric heaters - yet room freezing no warmth to place food terrible, cheap tomato jar sauce staff - stroppy and couldnt care less attitude dirty walls
Review 24:large bed strong shower helpful cleaner
Review 25:Food was awful and overpriced, staff didn't understand the fact we were complaining about it. Drunk male at the bar, very rude, and continued to be served even though drunk. Twin beds very small and uncomfortable.
Review 26:Location, cleanliness.
Review 27:The cost of my friends room was cheaper than ours and they had breakfast included. Our room £59 no breakfast! Their identical room £52 with breakfast!!!!
Review 28:Spotless
Review 29:We could smell cigerette smoke on the landing,we couldnt smell it in the room tho
Review 30:The bed was amasing!!! So comfy, very happy with the extra pillows, the shower was great.lots of space in the room, overall we was very happy with the room.i loved the toilet seat!!!
Review 31:Night staff don't understand the concept of a hotel, were the guests are there to sleep...!!! I was woken at 4am after a heavy night on the town to them talking /joking /laughing with on consideration to guests.....!!!! It went on for hours...i was tooo angry to confront them as i won't have slept after if i did...!!!!
Review 32:All the staff were very young, made it feel like the hotel was run by teenagers.
Review 33:The hotel was very tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean, although menu didn't offer a huge choice the food was very good.
Review 34:Would have liked more pillows. Would have liked a shower with a mobile shower head for cleaning body extremeties. A little hard to find at night because closest motorway exit closed for constructioin.
Review 35:Breakfast was nice. Not too expensive. Nice location near motorway. Room was clean
Review 36:Noisy guests were not dealt with. Ruined my sleep. Ended up getting up at 6am and leaving. They blatantly had their window open and were smoking in their room. Second night was spoiled by the noise of rain water hitting window sill.
Review 37:Convenient location. Great eatery nearby (500 yards)
Review 38:The breakfast was vile! The food was all dried out like it had been there all day. There was no fried eggs?? The bread was stale this is not what I'd expect for £11.95 per person I in fact got a refund for the second mornings breakfast as I couldn't bare to attempt it a second time. We had a harvester breakfast instead!
Review 39:Staff were friendly and helpful, room was clean and tidy - could do with more space to put things in the family room lots of luggage with little ones even though we only stayed 2 nights.
Review 40:There was nothing to dislike
Review 41:Its close proximity to Leeds and the M1, it was very comfortable and the food provided was of very good quality and reasonably priced
Review 42:Young Receptionist was disinterested and lacked customer relation skills when it came to sorting an issue with the room. After trying to contact Reception 4 times by the room phone - I went downstairs ... when I said I was trying to contact her, her reply was "Oh, It was you...." However, the more mature/older staff couldn't have been more helpful and were a pleasure to deal with.
Review 43:Very reasonable price. Value for money.
Review 44:Dirty glass made my scotch taste of Malibu, not a good combination. No refund or replacement offered, very poor show. Noisy guests smoking outside and general noise made for a very disturbed night, needs aircon so you don't have to have the window open onto the car park.
Review 45:Convenient location, ample parking, staff friendly, rooms reasonably clean,
Review 46:Poor quality of room for an 'executive room', with damaged surfaces and not as good as a Premier Inn, where I would have got refund for such a stay!
Review 47:Location
Review 48:Price was a bit high for Wakefield. Staff more concenrend with clearingtables than taking orders, I had to go and get a menu. They forgot tocharge in the end, which made me laugh as its lossed revenue.
Review 49:Clean, bright, comfortable
Review 50:Nothing to dislike!
Review 51:Easy to find when exiting M1 motorway. Check in very quick with friendly staff who helped organise taxis during stay.Room clean tidy, good size with everything expected including great biscuits!! Short distance to Wakefield town centre, all in all ideal location and good value hotel.
Review 52:Inadequate room storage space for clothes, view from room was desolate tarmac, public areas would have been too small if hotel had been full.
Review 53:The room was comfortable and convenient (we chose the ground floor). Breakfast was good, except we had to request a pot of tea instead of making our own in mugs with a tea bag.
Review 54:Placing a non smoking family room on a corridor with smoking rooms just doesn't make sense. I thought smoking rooms were a thing if the past. Travelling with a pregnant wife and 2 young children this actually was a big deal. The corridor was stinking as was the room from the stale smoke seeping in from the corridor.
Review 55:Good breakfast, free wifi, good communications with hotel prior to stay. Friendly/helpful staff.
Review 56:Described as double room but was actually two single mattresses stuck together which made the middle of the bed very uncomfortable.
Review 57:Helpful friendly staff, good facilities, clean room.
Review 58:There wasn't anything we didn't lije
Review 59:The friendly staff, all keen to help, nothing was too much trouble, it was as if they knew us personally .
Review 60:The only thing we were disappointed in was the coffee we asked for a French and an Irish coffee they were not very pleasant and cost almost £11 it put us off having our meals there. I think staff need a bit more training on the coffees.
Review 61:The staff were very obliging, we were rushing to get to a funeral and were too early for booking in so staff said we could get changed in the (spotless) bathroom and leave our luggage with them behind the desk until we got back.
Review 62:We booked a double room but we had 2 single mattresses pushed together that were not very comfortable. We ate in the restaurant the meal was nice but we ordered onion rings as an extra they were burnt and had no onion in them.
Review 63:The reception, bar area and restaurant looks nice and smart. There is plenty of parking.
Review 64:New reception and bar in one - booking in looking at back of bar and bottle bins etc. Chairs in bar area look good but uncomfortable - room was cold - duvet was thin.
Review 65:No bad experience at all, the only thing I would mention is that the food in the hotel is a bit expensive. If you're looking for a cheap but tasty breakfast then go to Silkwood Farm pub just behind the hotel itself.
Review 66:The room was clean, the bed was huge and comfortable. The whole hotel was clean and modern, the staff were fantastic! Never stayed in a hotel where all the staff were so friendly and helpful.
Review 67:I did not like that I was standing at the counter and wasn't welcomed for at least 2 minutes whilst staff members were having a chat. We also asked for our room to be cleaned hoping new bedding would be supplied which it didn't.
Review 68:Nice sized room with a more than than big enough bed, also very comfortable! Having access to internet also helped as I had some business to attend to during my stay.
Review 69:Reception staff seemed disinterested and room hadn't been cleaned properly - dirty mugs, and soap left in the shower.
Review 70:Good location, comfortable room.
Review 71:When I arrived I was given the key to my room. I entered my room to find a horrible smell coming from the bathroom. I informed the customer service desk who merely returned with an air freshener. I had to stay in a room that smelt awful. I also ticked the box stating "I would like a wake up call" on the form I was given upon my arrival and I further entered a time, however, I did not receive a wake up call!!
Review 72:My he location wasn't too bad.
Review 73:Nothing major, but was a little annoying when the electronic key card failed to work on a couple of occasions and I had to go back down to reception to get it re-programmed.
Review 74:Food was very good
Review 75:The location to Leeds City Center was about a 20 min Taxi ride.
Review 76:The hotel staff were very friendly, very accommodating and ensured that they answered all of my questions.
Review 77:I booked a family room and there was a bit of a misunderstanding but the staff on the day quickly resolved that by giving us another room for no extra charge. This is much more than spending thousands of dollars on promotions and marketing drives, this is QUALITY AND CONSIDERATE SERVICE! Will I book at the Ramadan again a frank Yes! Many thanks to the staff on duty!
Review 78:booked a twin room but the two beds were pushed together same as double but with separate bedding .. if you're not that familiar with the person you are sharing with, you will be by the end of the night!!!
Review 79:newly decorated and furnished hotel
Review 80:Still cleaning rooms at check in, one lift not working and the other is on its way out, bathroom didn't feel 'clean' it was tidy. Bed side tables and desk dirty, very sticky to touch so not cleaned at all and we had a young baby. Carpets clean but not in the corners so you can see the dust where the quick clean missed. Kettle dirty inside and around cover For cleanliness and standard, breakfast is very over priced, more than some London hotels
Review 81:Price good for the standard of the hotel and if you are not staying for long. Good for a place to sleep if you have places to go during the day. Staff helpful and friendly.
Review 82:The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable. Also there were people screaming and shouting in the corridor at 2.30am for about 30mins. This was on the ground floor by the 24hrs reception - staff did nothing to stop this. So it was a bad night. Wouldn't return here or recommend.
Review 83:The staff were welcoming enough, nice big bath tub, decent tea/biscuits in the room.
Review 84:The bed,the double room I booked for was two single bed joined together which was not so comfortable for me and my girlfriend. Was expecting a full double bed.
Review 85:The environment was clean and tidy very nice location and the staff were polite.
Review 86:We didn't initially book for a breakfast but decided on check in to go for it. At the price we were charged I expected the breakfast to be a decent continental with a good selection of cooked food. There were no pastries left at 10:15 and for some reason the hotel which serves breakfast until 11am only cook to order after 10am- could be a good idea so I then expected a nice fresh hot breakfast- my beans were cold and so was the bacon! Ruined :(........ I complained to the concierge and was given a "sorry" with excuses about being busier than expected (they were full to capacity at 4ish when we checked in the previous day).... Poor planning!
Review 87:Our omly complaint was that the pillows on the bed were too soft and not very supportive.
Review 88:Staff on Reception, including two new female members who only started on the day of our visit, were friendly and welcoming. The two young men who served dinner were great too. I asked if there was any mango chutney to accompany my curry and off they went to find some. Can't fault any of the staff.
Review 89:Found nothing to dislike.
Review 90:The staff could not have been more accommodating the rooms were large and very clean and it was very good value for the money.Being super critical the toilet paper could have been a little better quality, but we would reccommend this hotel
Review 91:being asked for extra for an early check in on arrival that wasnt stated at time f requesting ,,also cost for a sub standard breakfast ,
Review 92:rom was clean and tidy staff were helpful
Review 93:no one explained the light box. The drinks where seriously over priced. Service was slow but polite. Food okay but not great for the price .
Review 94:The accommodation was reasonable.
Review 95:The towels were left in a mess the second day. Rubbish was left on the floor. There were loud, drunken people in the hallway both nights.
Review 96:The room was clean, and comfortable.
Review 97:Booked an executive double with mini fridge and other extras...no sign of them Bed was a three quarter...18 inches, if that of open hanging space...no drawer space. Minimalism is a concept ...not a bedroom
Review 98:Breakfast
Review 99:.extremely uncomfortable double bed mattress.transferred to ground floor room with toilet and shower for the disabled but this was unclean, damp and musty.requested ironing board which was provided but the iron was badly damaged (this iron should have been checked as there was a health risk issue).d
Review 100:pleasant reception staff .
Review 101:A little more choice for evening meal would have been nice. However what we had was perfectly nice
Review 102:Lovely clean airy Hotel. Very comfortable beds and attractive room. Breakfast was very good. Staff very friendly
Review 103:The room was very cramped and no bathroom just a shower and with young children this was very hard. No toilet lock and wasn't very clean
Review 104:The option of a full English breakfast and kids eat free was good
Review 105:Having to reach in to wardrobe to find and make hot drinks...difficult in itself but worse for a left hander. No way to avoid initial cold blast frkm shower to turn it on.
Review 106:Car park has no pesky barriers. Flat easy access. Welcoming staff. Open plan reception. Flat screen telly can be watched from bed. Electric heater on wall meant I could adjust ad i wanted. Enough plug sockets. Lighting bright enough to work by.
Review 107:Would really have liked a bath but that's just preference.
Review 108:Good location for what we wanted to do. Very helpful staff.room had everything we needed.
Review 109:Breakfast ended at 10.00 on one day even though we were told it was served until 11.am. Duvet covers were ripped, big crack in the bathroom sink. Family room very small.
Review 110:Situation
Review 111:Bar open till very late drunk people making a lot of noise outside the hotel which overlooks the rooms, most rooms had their windows which were open due to warm weather which diturbed the guests.
Review 112:Excellent service rooms good. Bathroom can do with minor TLC
Review 113:Checkout time and drunken people entering your hotel with be so loud. My kids were frighten because of these kind of behaviour. I suggest you should have a code of practice in place for these kind of situations. They seemed to disturb others.
Review 114:Friendly staff and good reception. Also asked for and iron they were prompt in delivering this to us. Only thing I would underrate is checkout time which was to early. Where I've stayed in travel lodge they were quite lenient on this without extra charge.
Review 115:Poor Menu, Poor charging to room e.g. breakfast and meals (to our advantage as it could not all be corrected) and non restocking of room coffee and biscuits etc. which reception again corrected,
Review 116:We had a number if problems during our stay. On arrival, our booking wasnone existent at the hotel desk. The upgrade we we purchased was takenaway from us because we had kids even though they called us a few daysbefore arrival to offer it to us without us enquiring. The rooms areterribly hot and extremely noisy. Breakfasts were completely under parr.Hash browns were so overcooked that they were hard and had no potato inthem, scrambled egg was green, hard and very dry. I was rudely spoken towhen I asked the chef (young man with a beard) if there was any beanscoming out as the container out consisted of 6 beans.. Wifi? What wifi?It didn't work!!! Tv in the room... Had a grand total of onechannel...However I can say this, the room is spotless and spacious. The housekeeping staff are doing a fantastic job. We made a complaint to the booking company we booked with who immediately spoke to the hotel reception staff. They staff attitude immediately changed toward us and suddenly appeared helpful. Unfortunately by then, it was too little too late.
Review 117:The room is spotless and spacious. The housekeeping staff are doing afantastic job
Review 118:We wanted a non smoking room but someone had obviously been smoking in it so we were not happy but we were given another without question, the service was very good and staff were very friendly .
Review 119:The chefs where very rude. for breakfast I was about to serve myself some mushrooms and the chef just took the bowl away without even apologising. That put me off straight away.
Review 120:I like how the hotel been set and designs. Food was nice.
Review 121:easy to get to the places we needed to be and the staff were very friendly and even lent us a brolly as it began to poor down as we were waiting for the taxi to go to a wedding they said we could return it on our return brilliant.
Review 122:The fact that we never slept because of people drinking and smoking outside the bedroom window till 5.30am ..the room was BOILING!! And couldn't open window because of the noise..
Review 123:The fact that it wasn't far from where we need to go .also thought it would be more modern than the cedda court hotel which it was .BUT
Review 124:Only thing I was a bit disappointed with was the fact that we had a family room and there were single mattresses either side of the double bed with no room to step out of bed , family room is rather cramped but couldn't fault anything else .
Review 125:Staff very friendly , rooms very clean, hotel location good
Review 126:Noise from car park at 1.30am. Lots of music and talking because of outdoor seating area possibly
Review 127:Clean comfortable room but odours from smoking rooms in corridor unpleasant. Very good price.
Review 128:Uncomfortable bed Non smoking room on the same floor as smoking rooms Damage to car reported to staff - no action taken People making noise outside after midnight reported to reception - noise continued
Review 129:I wasn't very impressed with the price of breakfast. This would have cost more than a night's stay for me and my family! It's out of proportion! At dinner, there also seemed to be a lack of staff, but the people who were in did a really good job. at night there was also quite a lot of noise from other guests. Not the staff's fault, just inconsiderate people.
Review 130:Really impressed with the value for money and the staff, and also the food.
Review 131:Very noisy and did not get much sleep due to road noise and people in hall all night. Asked if had a good stay not really interested, when replied told you get noise when there is a coach party in.
Review 132:Comfortable large bed
Review 133:Our room had not been cleaned as you would expect as we found chewing gum in the bathroom sink, and the carpet had not been hovered very well as we noticed food and sweet wrappers under the dressing table and on one of the chairs. However the beds were freshly made.
Review 134:Food in restaurant was very good service was ok.
Review 135:No wifi connection or breakfast included. However that was not a bad thing as there is a great carvery just down the road which did breakfast
Review 136:Friendly staff and good facilities
Review 137:I feel normal economy hotels are better than Ramada.I had great expectations of staying at Ramada but its not worth. On a double bed,two single beds are joined, not very comfortable. Bathrooms are quite old, hair dryer also not great. No free toiletries available , only the soap solution.
Review 138:There was a large group travelling on a coach who started walking on corridors noisy at 6.30am. Breakfast was over priced. Rubbish left in the room.
Review 139:Comfortable big bed. Little traffic noise.
