Reviews for The Lindum

Review 1:The windows may need a bit of insulation for the Hastings winds.

Review 2:The staff was very kind and the room a bit small but clean and with a brand new carpet.

Review 3:There was nothing to fault at all The only one thing I'd say is that one of the pictures shows free(?) toiletries - which were not provided for us - but we didn't need them anyway I'm just mentioning this, in case any traveller expects them (as the pic shows) and then doesn't receive them

Review 4:Straight away, we were greeted by a very friendly & helpful lady. We'd booked a sea view double room (to celebrate my 50th Birthday on 19th) and I was so hoping for a balcony - I did ask for one, if there was one available, when booking - and my wish was granted! The room was lovely and warm, very clean AND the bed... it was SO comfy, it was hard to leave it! The ensuite was equally clean. Great value for money and 10/10 - we'd definitely stay there again :-)

Review 5:Noise, noise, and noise from the four lane traffic between the beautiful sea and the property. The windows are not double glazed making them non resistant to all the noise from cars, lorries, and buses. Boiler also makes noise. Also no drinking water or biscuits provided. If you want peace and quiet, definitely book a room not facing the busy four lane traffic, or look elsewhere.

Review 6:Sea view and shops around.

Review 7:There is not enough hot water to have a proper bath.

Review 8:It is in a good location on the sea front, and although it does not do breakfast there are many cafes in the area, and the nearby Wetherspoons does a good value breakfast

Review 9:thought was getting a double bed..single far too small..... had to ask for dry towels as rail did not work. no breakfast... slippy bath .. but convenient...

Review 10:location

Review 11:No hot water initially due to boiler timing switch. Very very noisy throughout the night; started with pub goers 12-3am, then bin men at 6! And traffic throughout. The windows are not double glazed so even on 3rd floor it was noisy.

Review 12:Room was clean and nicely laid out. Not too small.

Review 13:Room 4 it was horrible, there was no blind for the bathroom window so I couldn't have a bath without everyone probably seeing me! I didn't like the staff! I waited over half an hour at the front desk in my pjs as they was never there! They was a shower head but nothing to hold it up by and there was a ironing board with no iron!

Review 14:I liked that I was in the town and wasn't a far walk to the shops.

Review 15:Hard bed no shower just taps and hand held shower and no toiletries except soap so had to buy shampoo etc. No milk for tea and no one around to ask only see aman when checked in and he asked for money straight away

Review 16:Nice location and easy to find

Review 17:A beautiful hotel in an amazing spot - overlooking the sea. The lady who greeted us was very friendly. The room was lovely and clean and well decorated. The window opened so we could revel in it being completely filled by the sea view. The hotel had real charm and the most amazing staircase.

Review 18:The lady in charge was lovely, very friendly and helpful, she upgraded me to a double room with a balcony and see view. Best hotel bed I've slept in, very luxurious. Room was very clean and tidy with an amazing sea view. Great location with plenty of parking outside. Would definitely stay again x

Review 19:I have lost count of how many flights of stairs there was. On the website they should mention that possibly disabled visitors should avoid this hotel. I intitially was told on the website my hotel would be £70 but on arrival a seaside view room is more.(not mentined on the website) The shower didn't work staff seemed to think it was ok.

Review 20:The Balcony and Seaside View was great

Review 21:The building is old, with a very narrow staircase, those with problems climbing stairs should ask for the bedroom on the low floor.

Review 22:Location, staff and cleanliness. We vacated our room at 11:00, the staff were very accommodating and kept our cases for us for a few hours longer - very helpful.

Review 23:Unfortunately the room we had, had a light right outside the room so was too bright to get to sleep properly.

Review 24:It is right on the sea front, and round the corner from the town.

Review 25:would be nice if breakfast was an option but can honestly say food was easily available in walking distance so we had a morning walk along seafront to a local café. no negative comments about the hotel

Review 26:lovely friendly staff, clean warm room, amazing view and wen windows shut no traffic noise thank you for a great stay

Review 27:Unfortunately, no breakfast is available and check-in time could be earlier.

Review 28:Clean and comfortable rooms with a lovely sea view. The location is good and the member of staff at reception is very polite and helpful. I originally booked a single room but was informed it was not available on the day. As a goodwill gesture, a double room was offered instead for the price of a single room, which was greatly appreciated.

Review 29:We booked as bed and breakfast so not sure if this was an error on booking.com but they do not provide breakfast.its a nice ckean hotel but not a 4 star and 90 pound for one night seemed a bit expensive for what it was

Review 30:the room was on the 3rd floor- no lift. On Saturday night we were not able to sleep until 3 AM because of the noise outside. There is a taxi station outside so lots of drunk, noisy people. I imagine the sea view rooms are much better.

Review 31:Free WiFi, coffee, tea, clean room

Review 32:We spent two nights at this hotel - and did not sleep for both nights. Our room was at the back of the hotel which faces a cab office. My advice if you want to stay ask for a sea view room

Review 33:The cost for accommodation only (£50) was expensive. Bearing in mind breakfast not included, price should be reduced accordingly.

Review 34:Comfortable and the town location.

Review 35:The room could have done with a mini fridge and there was a 24/7 taxi rank next door that could get very loud at points and due to it being such a warm night we didn't really want to close the window

Review 36:Once you had checked in, the lady who owns the hotel gives you a set of keys for the front and your room and then leaves you to enjoy your holiday

Review 37:My friend and I felt that the hospitality and warmth of the staff was very welcoming indeed. Thank you so much for making our first trip to Hastings so pleasant.

Review 38:I stayed here with my son, we were exceptionally pleased with the hotel. The owner was lovely, incredibly friendly and welcoming and really couldn't have been more helpful. She was only too willing to allow us to leave our cases early on our first day and to collect them several hours after checking out time, to allow us to make the most of our final day. Our room and the bathroom were absolutely immaculately clean, the bed was the comfiest hotel bed I have slept in. Strongly recommend this hotel to anyone, we will definitely be returning.

Review 39:There was initially a minor problem with the shower head dripping, however this was rectified soon after I reported it to the manager.

Review 40:The hotel was quiet, clean and excellent value for money. I would also like to mention the manager(Ami), whose professional and friendly demeanor added to my overall enjoyment of my stay.

Review 41:Not enough water for even 1 bath ran cold reported it as was gettingready to go out for evening lasy turned water up next day same thinghappened also parking is a joke given a pass from 4pm till 11am then hadto move it not made clear enough on web site also had to keep asking formilk didnt get topped up and when reported to owner his reply was willrefund £80 which is a nights cost of room and can leave wheres that anycompensation for a holiday spoilt and being high season no where elseavailable not even had a reply since leaving emailed hotel saying myconcerns and disappointment not heard back not even to apologise

Review 42:First break id had with my hubby in 12yrs totally dissappointed thelady on the desk tried to help not much to like but see view and myhubbys company

Review 43:The location was perfect, the staff were lovely, and our room at the very top with rooftop balcony was amazing, I would stay there again if I could have that room again, yes there was lots of stairs, but well worth the climb

Review 44:The shower tap wasn't working properly so it was a bit awkward to wash hair in the bath tub.

Review 45:Amira, the owner, was friendly and welcoming. The bed was very comfortable and we had a lovely balcony.

Review 46:Hello, The view is very nice but I did not like the location. The back streets were not pleasant and didn't feel safe. There Should be atleast one reliable, attractive restaurant for breakfast and supper with the hotel. But the room is very pretty and the staff nice.

Review 47:It did feel a tad pricy for what you get but it's location is great. At night there is noise from the street outside, but nothing too disturbing!

Review 48:The hotel is very basic, more like a hostel really. The staff spoke limited English but that wasn't too much of a problem. Great for a weekend stay.

Review 49:Lots of stairs but It was made clear when booking. Would have liked to have something to attach the shower head to.

Review 50:Lovely comfy, clean room with a sea view. Kettle, toiletries and hairdryer supplied. Staff were very pleasant and helpful.

Review 51:Only criticism was there was no shower bracket to hang the shower head from.

Review 52:Great location, brilliant view overlooking the seafront from the balcony, nice clean room and bathroom, comfy bed, friendly and helpful lady on desk

Review 53:Poorly furnished room and lumpy bed. Bathroom very poorly fitted. Claims to be four star on booking.com and on the sign outside but checked at the tourist board website to find it is 3 star. I would only give it two, and only just

Review 54:The location is quite good

Review 55:STAIRS WERE SPIRAL AND SMALL WE WERE ON THE 3RD FLOOR WOULD NOT SUITE ANYONE NOT FULLY MOBILE MY HUSBAND COULDN'T MANAGE THEM IN ONE GO. STAFF DID TAKE UP MY BAG THOUGH.

Review 56:LOCATION RIGHT ON THE BEACH VERY CLOSE TO TOWN NICE WALK TO OLD TOWN. PROMENADE ALL ON THE LEVEL

Review 57:A few dirty marks on the bed sheets and duvet cover. Hairs all over the bathroom. Could not open the window and the room got very hot. Very small room with no where to move around. Bath takes 45 minutes to run and slow running water. No lift and he room was on the top floor. No warning of this when booking.

Review 58:Well decorated room, blackout blind was very useful as sun was very bright in the morning. All round great stay, comfy bed and friendly staff. Check in was very easy.

Review 59:It is not 4 stars quality, if this place was advertised as 2 stars I would have been very happy with it. My single room was extremely tiny, the 'closet' was a hole in the wall which is half arm wide and an arm length!! furniture is old. The place needs a serious refurbish or reduction in its star ratings.

Review 60:great location, amazing sea views. very friendly staff. very close to train station and city centre.

Review 61:my only problem was the shower didn't work properly. it was rather too hot or freezing, couldn't get a mix of both.

Review 62:the room was small but very comfortable. it had everything i needed. very clean, bed was so comfy. wonderful views of the sea, staff very helpful. all in all a nice little hotel, i would stay again, and recommend it to others.

Review 63:The bathroom was freezing and there was very little hot water for myself and husband to have a shower. My daughters stayed in another room where there was blood on the wall and springs coming through mattress.

Review 64:There wasn't a lot to like.

Review 65:Just to mention that the plumbing in our room was poor. cold water tap over bath did not work.

Review 66:The cleanliness of the room and friendly greeting on arrival. The Lindum was ideally situated, close to shops and bars.

Review 67:I had a very late booking and arrived at the hotel late we were given the last room which was on the very top floor without any view at all and the shower would not work when held above your head. The following morning we were given a second floor sea view room without having even requested it staff were very helpful and extremely friendly.

Review 68:TV has got like 2 channels that work and there are no wardrobe for clothes. Room is not big either.

Review 69:Bed was very very comfortable and bathroom very cleaned. Sea view room has a great view and despite having the main road right behind the window, it was quiet enough in the night.

Review 70:Room was extremely small, felt claustrophobic. Decor is a bit tired and needs updating.

Review 71:Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room and bedding were very clean Good location

Review 72:Narrow winding staircase to second floor - 44 stairs. Immersion heater in room did not provide sufficient hot water for two showers in the morning. Double room booked contained one 4ft bed, which was too small, plus one single, which was not needed. No clear fire instructions were displayed.

Review 73:Good location, very clean and nicely decorated. Friendly landlady who was very helpful, doing her best to alleviate problems.

Review 74:Cleanliness wasn't up to scratch for what the rating of the hotel was dirty bowl in draws dirty socks in wardrobe blind in bathroom dirty and room smelt

Review 75:Location has got to be the best bit

Review 76:They have no lift in the hotel so it might be a problem for people with reduced mobility.

Review 77:Was told it was under new management. It was a perfect spot to escape London for a weekend. Calm area with a nice sea view. The staff are helpful and welcoming. My room was cleaned everyday, refill of tea and coffee too. As I visited in February there was a helpful second eater in the room.

Review 78:This hotel is ideally located on the beach front promenade, within easy walking distance of the old town, peer, restaurants and shops. I found the bed and cushions very comfortable!

Review 79:Perfect location right on the seafront. Fantastic clean room, very bright and with super comfy bed. The hotel was quiet, and the lady who greeted us was very friendly and helpful! Our stay was perfect, and we'll definitely be returning!

Review 80:I couldn't roll up the blind in the bathroom but otherwise what a fabulously nice play to stay

Review 81:The fact that I was given a double room at a great rate because I needed to stay 2 nights rather than the one booked.

Review 82:The room was very very small, I tripped over husband's feet when I went to bathroom in the night and he's not that tall. Could have been better with breakfast facilities.

Review 83:It was in a good location and the room was clean. It was the cheapest available with the best reviews falling into that price category.

Review 84:For those with any issues with stairs, I highly recommend requesting ground floor accommodations. The stairs are quite challenging.

Review 85:The comfortable bed and location. Staff were very friendly and accommodating.

Review 86:Not the fault of the hotel, but make sure you budget for parking.

Review 87:The new manageress made us very welcome 2 hours before our check-in time. Room only, she also gave us advice on places to eat.We enjoyed the freedom to come and go unhindered

Review 88:only thing was there was no on wall mounted shower head, just the old style on bath ones. Just a suggestion to put them in for the future!

Review 89:went down to see family and had the top floor sea view room, it was amazing!

Review 90:Friendly professional staff. I was helped in and out with my many bags. Clean room, great view over towards the sea. Good location for central Hastings.

Review 91:Nothing really. Kettle didn't work but was replaced promptly even though eleven at night!

Review 92:Room was warm and cosy lovely sea view and balcony. Staff friendly and helpful Bathroom clean service good Great deal!

Review 93:no in-house eating facilities (there are lots of restaurant around thou) which may be a disadvantage if you're travelling with family. very weak water pressure both on the 2nd and 4th floor. we were due some refund and promised to be called but neither of this has happened (4 weeks after we were there)

Review 94:location and view, temperature in the bedroom. cheap in winter (maybe in summer months too but that i don't know)

Review 95:Nothing to not like.

Review 96:Welcoming staff and lovely comfy room. Didn't want to leave!

Review 97:About 10 minute walk from the station and right by the seafront and the old town. Clean hotel and helpful staff.

Review 98:The heating was on and the room was worm when we arrived; very much appreciated after 2 hours of walk on a very windy day. The bathroom is fantastic.

Review 99:Armine couldn't have been more helpful or more caring. She made my stay wonderful!

Review 100:Wi-fi anivable , view to sea side
