Reviews for Villa Maria
Review 1:The stuff is the best helpfull stuff I've ever seen !!!!! It's very near to the beach and to other villages! The view to the see is beautiful!!! And what can I say? Everything went fine!!!! All I can do is just recommending they!!!!!! Special thanks to Marios !
Review 2:One bedroom had no windows and this was not visible from the photos. Location, we thought it is very close to the sea, but it is not so close as described (especially if you have kids and you have to carry each day toys and other things).
Review 3:People were very nice and the apartment was clean (cleaned regularly).
Review 4:I would have expected to have breakfast included in the price
Review 5:We liked the warm welcome by the hosts. The 1-bedroom apartment was airconditioned, spacious, clean and well-maintained.We especially enjoyed the balcony which easily fits 4 people and offers partial sea view. The overall design of the common areas was also very pleasant. Proximity to the beach is also worth mentioning - just 150-200 meters away from the beach, boardwalk and taverna's areas. There is a supermarket nearby + a fish market (which we were advised to visit by the hosts) for those who want to buy and prepare fresh fish themselves.
Review 6:would have liked the option of a breakfast buffet. parking was available but it was 5 mins from the hotel.
Review 7:one of the best bathrooms we've had in greece. great mattress, large room for two (room 11). very good coffee in cafe. the staff were all very friendly
Review 8:Comfort-large studio with excellent view Facilities-very well equipped self-catering area Staff - friendly and ready to help Secure parking area behind the property
Review 9:The villa is newly renovated with full funcionality and is tastefully decorated. The apartment on the top floor has huge balcony with sea view that enables full relaxation. The owners are very friendly.
Review 10:Apartments are totly not as shown in pictures, furniture and rest of the equpment is poor for money paid, tv was not working, and mosqitoes - host really did put nets on all dors/windows but outside there are so many of them thet only with too much chemistry you can sleep, still you are bitten if being outside in the evening.
Review 11:Close beach, free sun bads for Maria's guests, change of sheets and towels every third day with apartment cleaning, host's kindnes and being able to help if needed, wi fi signal is ok, bead for baby, silent place, close to super market. Perfect pies in Maria caffee, safe and clean for kids, sea included.
Review 12:The first night, we were given a room of a lower standard than the one we paid for. It was a humid and slummy room on the ground floor. When we moved to our room on 1st floor, although we are not very picky the bed was too small and there was almost no kitchen equipment. The view from the balcony is disappointing.Toroni seems full of similar hotel/studios. The stay was so unpleasant we left one night before the end although all nights were paid in advance.
Review 13:The kitchen could be better equipped. They have two locations, both very close to each other, and somehow they had booked us one night in one location, and the other nights in another. The first place (the one on the photos) was really nice, but the second place was less so (and while the first location was worth the price, not so sure about their second location). The staff did help us with moving, but it was a bit annoying not being able to unpack the first night and having to move.
Review 14:Excellent location, and friendly staff
Review 15:I left my soul there... If you decide to stay in this place then when you leave this place your mind will stay there also...
Review 16:Everything was wonderful, a few steps to crystal clean waters, good wifi, free sunbeds and umberalas, private car parking and wonderful peoples...I will come again as soon as possible
Review 17:Choice of restaurants is not good in Toroni. Supermarket expensive.
Review 18:The beach is great
Review 19:No bad experience. slightly pricey ?
Review 20:Very friendly staff and comfortable rooms
Review 21:Very clean and comfortable, close to the beach, owners are kind and take good care about their guests. Very good wi-fi.
Review 22:Everything
Review 23:Nice villa close to the beach. The owners are very friendly. Wonderful place and great hosts!!! Everything was wonderful !!!
Review 24:Nice villa close to the beach. Comfortable suite with beautiful sea view. The siute was cleaned every day, and the owners are very polite.
Review 25:marios and his wife-the owner are . .freindly, warm, and willing to help in any case
Review 26:Great location. Wonderful place and great hosts - you will be lucky if choose "Villa Maria"! It's clean, cozy and tidy. Everything was perfect. The balcony was large, lovely wooden furniture, sun shades, mosquito nets. There is a parking. The sea is so close. The beach is very clean and beautiful.
Review 27:Too many mosquitoes in one place, which went through mosquito nets, but supermarkets are sprays against them.
Review 28:We stayed at a villa located closer to the sea, apartment no. A1, with parking in the courtyard, each apartment has parking. This villa is not mentioned anything on booking.com offer. The accommodation was excellent. Kitchenette has no microwave as presented in the offer, but has hob and electric oven. It has a large balcony with a table and 4 chairs. Great beach and sea, the sand a bit big for our taste, not so fine as in Bulgaria, but no stones like in Turkey. Nearby are two supermarkets with reasonable prices and at 20 km from Nea Marmaras entrance is a large supermarket where I shopped for 2 times.
Review 29:Battled mosquitoes for several nights (despite a screened door) until we learned of a simple fix--buying a plug-in gizmo that works magically. Slept much better after that...As for our room, it was right above the main reception and cafe, and we got the exhaust and noise of delivery trucks coming right into our room regularly. Our west-facing balcony was spacious, but didn't have an awning to block out the afternoon/evening sun, so was disappointing in that regard. For young families like ours (with an infant) there was also the fact that all rooms are up at least one level so one must carry things/children up and down repeatedly. If one is with car and wants to use it, parking was also a little inconvenient, being five minutes' walk away. Lastly, although the cleaning staff were friendly, for some reason ours came several times in the mid-afternoon, when we were back from the beach and resting. It was far preferable when they came in the late morning!
Review 30:Good location, value for the money, and friendly & helpful owners. Room had wi-fi and a flat-screen TV with BBC and a couple other international channels. Nice that they have their own umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach (though they expect you to buy a couple of drinks or pastries). Toroni, a small village, has a nice long beach that's not too crowded.
Review 31:Wonderful place and great hosts - you will be lucky if choose "Villa Maria"! It's clean, cozy and tidy, in a green neighborhood, just a few steps from the sea. And hosts - friendly, easygoing, ready to provide help with anything. Thank you for your great hospitality!
Review 32:I haven't seen so much mosquitoes in one place and it was in April! Pillows were too hard, even for my taste and I don't prefer very soft pillow. The toilet had sliding door. I asked about the prices over the summer session and I think it is not worth for those money.....if the owners want to keep the pricing high, they should reconsider investing more in those apartments.
Review 33:The owners were great and the location was good. Not the first line to the sea, but close enough.
Review 34:First of all the owners were very hospitable. Friendly staff, clean rooms, kitchen and balcony, everything you need to relax and feel good at this lovely house. Excellent location, only 5 min to the beach. You can use for free the umbrellas and sunbeds. Was so nice to offer coffee or drinks on the beach from the owner. Good value for money
Review 35:-as a whole the price was too high for the quality received: some of the furniture was falling apart, our room was stucked between the wall of a neighbouring house and the stairs and we practically had about one meter "view", our lamp did not work when we arrived and was changed after three days; -our room did not look like the pictures presented here at all, although some of the bigger rooms were very nice. it would be fare to know what kind of room you are booking /especially when there's no option of cancellation/; -it was too noisy most of the time because of very bad doors of the rooms and of course due to very noisy tourists; -the tap water in Toroni is salty and electricity is too weak; -as guests if Villa Maria we had to bargain with the owner for free access to the umbrellas and sunbeds on the beach altought they were supposed to be free for the guests of the villa;
Review 36:+the location is good; +the beach is very good although sand is a little bit rough; +rooms are cleaned every three days; +some of the rooms have large balconies with nice view /unfortunately ours did not/;
Review 37:-For these apartments it is very high price. It must cost not more than30-40euro per night but not 90!-some rooms are outside the main buildings and there are "only-bed" concept. We didn't expect it. -Water from water tap was salted! It is everywhere in Toroni. It was incredible to brush teeth. -Very bad cleaning. Irregulate and partial. Just 2 girls for so many rooms. Its not enough to do nice work. -No pharmacy in the town. We liked Sarti much more for better price and comfort :)
Review 38:Green courtyard. Not far from sea
Review 39:The place was adorable and great for the money ... The staff was nicetoo helped out with whatever they could and let us leave out luggage fora while after we checked out so we could go to the beach.
Review 40:The place is very noisy in the evenings between 9 and , up to 12 pm, but apart from these hours it is very quiet. The little garden is the place where people gather at night, eat together, loud voices, children run and scream and use the internal staircase for hide-and-seek, and since the windows are only single pane, you hear everything inside, sometimes sitting on your balcony you can't hear each other talking. This is if your room is overlooking the garden, probably it is different if you have your balcony is overlooking the street. For this reason we had to adapt to going out for dinner after 9 and be back earliest 11, which is a bit tricky with very young kids. I would recommend the owners to ask their guests to keep a lower volume after 10. Note that at this hotel there is no other place for kids to play than in the little enclosed garden. Other than that, we were quite pleased with our stay. Minor things I can mention - for a week stay the room was not cleaned, bedding was changed 2 times though. Balcony floor was full av bread crumbs from previous guests when we checked in and this we had to clean ourselves. AC is dropping on the balcony floor making a constant, slippery puddle in front of the room door, we had to ask for a bucket to place under it and empty it every day since it got full. Kitchen equipment could be better: stove very rusty, but functioning. Oven not cleaned. No table knives. Bathroom sparingly cleaned, metal parts in shower and tap never cleaned. The cleaning standard is rather relaxed, more like a home than a hotel.
Review 41:We stayed at a 2-room appartment on the second floor (I believe the best floor) with a fantastic balcony, shadowy for the most, nice breeze, sea view and nice furniture. I would not move from there if we did not have the children with us. Very close to the beach, shop and tavernas. Friendly owners and staff. Beautiful little internal garden in traditional style. Photos of the hotel are showing the true picture, I would even say the reality was better. The location is quiet. Overall standard is nice and quite well-kept. AC quiet and working fine. Hot water all the time. Good noise insulation between rooms, we never heard our neighbours who had a baby. They tell you they have free umbrellas and sunlounges at the beach which is only true if you buy things for 6 eur/day from their cafe. But the beach is large så you are not confined to the "paid" areas. Regarding Toroni, I can recommend it for families. There is no disco there, and there are 3 bars that noone visits. After 12 in the night it is dead quiet, which in our case was exactly what we wanted. Nice beach, clean water, much space.
Review 42:salt water in the tap... the rooms other than the posted pictures, garbage every morning,a room near the sewer which was emptied every day ... the smell was unbearable...
Review 43:Toroni and all Sithonia is beautifull, we also had very nice owners
Review 44:Great location. Close to the sea, close the best supermarket in Toroni and two best tavernas. Have own part of the beach with umbrellas and sun beds. Have good snack-service both on the beach and in the hotel. The hotel is clean and comfort. Have BBQ where you can cook fresh meat (meat shop just behind Villa Maria) or fresh fish (fish market is about 300m from fish market). In the hotel you can order sightseeing tour or rent a car. Staff and Owners are very friendly to all the customers of the hotel and you feel yourself as sweet home. Thank to Marios and Peppe for their hospitality.
Review 45:very clean room with a kitchen,a/c ,tv and welcome wine!the staff was friendly and the location was perfect-near the sea, mini market etc.good value for money.
Review 46:The hosts, Despina and Marios, are just wonderful - caring, kind, helpful, speaking excellent English. Our studio, for three adults, was spacious, light, well-equipped. The balcony was large, with a side sea view, lovely wooden furniture, sun shades, mosquito nets. The surrounding area is beautiful and very well maintained. There is a parking lot specially for the guests. Very near, just 30 metres away, there is quite a large supermarket selling a wide variety of fruits, vegetables, breads, dairy, fresh meat. The beach is less than 50 metres from the studios, free sun loungers for Villa Maria guests. The lifeguard post is right behind the loungers.
Review 47:All in all great vacation spent in Toroni and I'm sure we'llcome back again. Villa Maria offers everything that a travellerneeds. The owners, Despina & Mario were great hosts, and as for thevilla I can tell that It's web page describes everithing like itrealy is. The small village Toroni is adequate if you're seekingclear water and beatiful beach, have small children (there are no noisydiscoteques), want a real rest, or maybe want to explore Sithonia andthis might be the perfect spot for it because of its location, near byall the best beaches in Sithonia (I recommend Kalamitsi & Portokalibeach). Great value for the money, what you pay is what you get!
Review 48:It was a really great time in Toroni. We enjoyed all time the sun, the sea and the people. And we had a lot of fun by parking our car in front of Villa Maria. Thank you for this great time. You are great, see you next time :) M. Schumacher and his tanned girlfriend.
Review 49:Very comfortable and quiet location, very nice and warm staff (including the owners). Perfect spot for relaxation and just 50 m away from Taverna Leon (a "must try" in Toroni)
Review 50:No garden for children to play, but it is very close to the beach so the children can play there.
Review 51:We stayed in the new part named Moustakas, the apartments are clean, air-conditioned and optimal size. The beautiful sandy beach is only 100 m from the accommodation, on the halfway are taverna, store and butcher, fish-store are 10' walking distances. You can taste excellent wines from local winery Domain Porto Caras and recommend a visit to the coast between Porto Caras and Toroni full of small and beautiful bays. The hosts were very hospitable and we spent wonderful Easter days there.
Review 52:-There was no bath/shower gel.Just a little soap and a small bottleof body lotion for 2 people. -Noisy Skopian guests with little childrenscreaming all the time
Review 53:-From our appartement we had excellent seaview at 30 meters. -The stuffwas really very friendly
Review 54:Lovely place, comfortable, clean, with beautiful garden. Staff are going to do everything to make your holiday good. They are all very kind. Toroni is beautiful town with excellent beach. We would like to go there again.
Review 55:Our room was much smaller than expected. Don't get a studio if you are 3 or more adults!! The water at the shower was salty + our air conditioning didn't work for 2 days and the temperatures in August are 40 degrees!! The owners were friendly and helpful - they gave us a fan instead but it was way too hot with or without it. Although they had some free rooms at the time, they didn't offer us to stay in another room. They are lots of other hotels in the area that look much nicer than Villa Maria and are on simillar price. Toroni is a fairly small village - not much to do and in 2 days you get bored. Sarti is a fantastic place to stay and also Kalamitsa's beach is nicer than Toroni's one. Also try to visit the Orange beach - very pretty area!!
Review 56:Staff were friendly. The inside garden was nice and relaxing. The hotel is only 50 meters away from the seaside and the shopping area. The bed sheets + towels were changed every 3 days.
Review 57:We stayed at the family room on the very top of Villa Maria, which is has an extra bedroom for the kids and a kitchenette for cooking. We absolutely loved the huge terrace ( at least 30 sqm) we had for ourselves! With a great view of Toroni and the sea, it offers barbecue facilities and a lot of space for relaxing and playing. The owners Pepi and Marius are very friendly and were very helpful with booking trips. The Villa Maria is just a 2-minute-walk from the sandy beach of Toroni, a supermarket and loads of nice restaurants - we loved it!
Review 58:The room was too small. Espesially the bathroom. A bad smell existeveryware.
Review 59:The location is good,100 m from the sea. The owners are friendly. TheHotel is a family hotel.
Review 60:Small rooms, small beds - adults can not sleep on bunk beds, kitchenutensils in poor condition, bathroom without good ventilation, photosonline does not match the actual state
Review 61:Good location, nice caffe, beautiful sea view, good terrace, thefriendly staff , car parking
Review 62:the best rooms are situated on the second floor. if you take the other you have terrace in common.
Review 63:All staff absolutely friendly and considerate. Very quiet and room with sea view!! One of the most beautiful places we enjoyed!!!
Review 64:We were made to feel like part of the family. Nothing was too much trouble. A great deal of effort had been made to make the communal areas very attractive with furniture, plants/flowers and a built in BBQ
Review 65:Only bad things were mosquitoes, but not in Villa Maria, but in Toroni!
Review 66:Everything was wonderful, but I want to point out great hospitality of owner of the Villa Maria! I enjoy every second of my stay,I fill secure and comfortable during my stay! Also they have their parking and my car was secure 24 hours!
Review 67:Mrs Pepi is an excellent hostess, always willing to serve with a true friendly approach. The hotel, though located in the small village Toroni, is very peaceful and quiet. On the other hand, it is a few meters away from the minimarket and other facilities, and of course the beach (where the hotel provides you with free umbrella/chairs). Toroni is amazing surrounded with excellent beaches (very clean, nice sand, not crowded) and only 20min away from state-of-the-art beaches (like "kavourotrupes"). The room was very clean and recently restored while windows allowed very good air/sun circulation. The kitchen is fully equipped to help with everyday needs(we had our 2year old "devil" with us). What I enjoyed most, is the attention to little details you usually dont expect from hotels: for example, the air-condition was a good brand name, noiseless, with clean filters. I think this hotel gets an excellent "value for money" ratio. I hope people visiting this hotel share the same pleasing experience we did.
Review 68:It is very close to the beach 50m, and the beach is perfect with free sunbeads you can use ;)
Review 69:A beautifull spot and the owners are very friendly. The sea is so close.
Review 70:It was too noisy, beacause there is on the main road. The water is not drinkable.
Review 71:The staff is very friendly. Good value for money.
Review 72:the water - too salty uncomfortable beds
Review 73:the view from the last floor
Review 74:Friendly staff. Very relaxed vacation.Beautiful clean sea and the beach.
Review 75:Proprietarii au fost de nota 10 si cazarea a fost excelenta. Plaja micuta si cu pietricele mici, dar apa foarte curata. Zona este foarte linistita.
Review 76:very noisy from construction going on every day next to villa maria
Review 77:wonderful sea view
Review 78:everything
Review 79:The hosts were extremely hospitable. Constantly tried to comfort us.
Review 80:The clean lady didn't collect the gabage.
Review 81:The hotel is near the beach. The hotel staff was kind.
Review 82:The water supply for the shower was poor!
Review 83:The hospitality of the owners!
Review 84:Everything was good, the place was calm, clean rooms, friendly staff, big terrace for dinners.
