Reviews for Woodside
Review 1:The mezzanine level with the bed was very awkward. It was not possible to stand up The bed was on the floor and not very comfortable. Getting in and out of bed was difficult without banging your head
Review 2:Lounge and kitchen area was good and well equipped
Review 3:The bedroom was smaller than hoped and we kept banging our heads on the ceiling when we forgot to crawl.
Review 4:Although small, the downstairs area was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. Apart from the fact that there were no dvd's in the apartment as stated in the welcome pack.
Review 5:Wifi very intermittent. Advertised DVD selection was aimed entirely at adults, but this is a very minor thing bearing in mind that we were grateful to have DVD's at all!
Review 6:Great location. Good size apartment, clean and quiet. Would definitely use again.
Review 7:Unfortunately the noise from the property above can be a little disturbing at times, due to where the bed is located in the property!
Review 8:The property itself has been completed to a high specification!!
Review 9:Apt. 2 - ceiling was just too low. If you need to use toilet in the middle of the night you need to turn bright light to see but it will wake your partner. Would love to have a coffee maker. Suites case stayed on floor because there are no drawers. Apt.1 - Did not find the instruction book for washer and dryer. Had a difficult time with it. Coffee maker would make many people happy, I think. Need storage and hooks.
Review 10:The view from the hill is beautiful. The units are updated and clean. Kitchen is fantastic. Beds and pillows are comfortable but comforter is too thick (too warm) and there is no way to adjust.
Review 11:Bathroom: Would be good to have a shelf or free standing cabinet to place toiletries on as there was nothing apart from the floor. Would be good to have a 2nd mirror in the other bedroom. Both bedrooms need a set of drawers for the non-hanging 'stuff'. Otherwise very good. 4 short flights of stairs so need to flag up a little more that this could be a problem for some?
Review 12:Quite a handy venue -on bus route if required. Not far from city centre. Good facilities - and able to relax comfortably. Bed very comfortable. The apartment was light and airy could recommend.
Review 13:The kitchen did not have any exhaust fan or windows next to the cooker which meant cooking smell will linger on in the whole flat.
Review 14:The staff was amazing, really helpful. Had a problem with cleanness of the room which they addressed straight away. The location was perfect nice and quite area. Enjoyed our stay.
Review 15:The noise from the apartment above was terrible and I can see from reviews before me that some others had the same issue. I can't imagine it is because of the people being loud... they seemed to be doing usual things like using their kitchen... but it echoed so badly throughout my apartment, almost louder than if they were to be in my apartment using my kitchen. It was amplified by the fact that you sleep close to the ceiling. It was like there was no insulation between me and them. It woke me up numerous times and it would stop me booking that accommodation again. The WiFi was not good either. If it was working, the speed was great, but the connection would drop every half an hour sometimes for at least 30 minutes.
Review 16:The apartment looked beautiful. The kitchen was well equipped, had tea and coffee and all necessary crockery and utensils. Shower was very nice and powerful. Beautiful view of the Malvern Hills from the garden/driveway (not from the window).
Review 17:The height of the bedroom really was unacceptable. Having to crawl across a floor to get into bed which is - in effect - a mattress on the floor! Also, being so close to the ceiling - noises from the flat above were intrusive late into the night and early in the morning.
Review 18:It was a convenient stop over on a trip further north. Flat was clean, warm and well equipped.
Review 19:No reception, no staff and no one to contact. Also no elevator/lift. 2 huge suitcases had to carry up several flights of stairs. Incredibly inconvenient.
Review 20:Apartment was beautiful
Review 21:Me and my girlfriend had a wonderful stay in apartment 2, we will surely be trying to book again when we next can! Very clean, very spacious and in a great location.
Review 22:A bit of a faff getting through all the doors and carrying bags up the narrow staircase to the apartment but that's not really a major negative. I was just being lazy!
Review 23:Loved the contemporary layout and decor. Light and airy with plenty of space. We only stayed one night but it is large and comfortable enough to stay longer
Review 24:It was a lovely little apartment but unfortunately being an older house the people upstairs kept us awake, walking around their apartment. But in saying that when I brought this to the staffs attention - they were very happy to accommodate us the next evening in another one of their apartments.
Review 25:Myself and a group of friends needed a base for a stag do in Worcester, and this (two apartments) fitted the bill just fine. It was a fair walk to the city centre, but nothing we couldn't handle. The apartments were very clean and had everything we needed. Nice views from the top floor apartment. The ceilings in one of the bedrooms and the bathroom were a bit low for one of our guests, but that will teach him for being so tall!
Review 26:wifi was not working, it is on the third floor so lots of steps up and down
Review 27:nice flat, comfy and ideal for the loaction we had meetings and quite close to the center. well equipped
Review 28:Outside of the building could probably do with a repaint and ground floor corridor look a bit nicer but apart from that everything was lovely. Our room was beautiful.
Review 29:Absolutely beautiful apartment. We were so pleased when we walked in as it was lovely decor. It was very homely, comfortable and equipped well, with kitchen utensils etc. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be going back. It exceeded our expectations. Brilliant stay and value for money. We can't wait to go back!!!
Review 30:The mezzanine/bed area. Will not return because of this. Please re measure and give accurate measurements, as i am only 4. 11" and I struggled. Smoke alarm went off which was annoying to turn off hitting your head in the beams is not fun at all. Having a sofa bed as an option would be so much better
Review 31:Kitchen facilities, living area, free parking.
Review 32:We had been emailed the incorrect PIN number for the downstairs door and no PIN number for the inside apartment door. Very stressful to not have entry with a distressed toddler. Thankfully someone swiftly returned my call with the correct information. An unnecessary palaver and worry though. It should be mentioned at booking that the apartment is up very many narrow stairs in a state of renovation / not easy with luggage and a toddler. We would not have booked had we known.
Review 33:The apartment (number one) was perfect for my toddler and I. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Home from home, we were very happy once in the apartment.
Review 34:There were a lot of problems with our stay and overall it was very frustrating. The alarm kept going off, including at 1 am, waking us up. Clearly this is a regular problem as they have a list of instructions for dealing with this. Because of this and also the wifi not working very often (it was up and down), I called the office for help several times, but never reached anyone and was never phoned back. Besides that, they provided a cot for the baby, which is good, but they didn't provide a mattress for the cot. Instead they just gave an adult duvet, which anyone can tell you is dangerous for a baby. So we didn't use the cot. The bed was very hot (probably due to a waterproof sheet on it). They were very stingy with provisions -- the soap containers each only had about 1/4 a bottle of soap in them, plus they just left three tiny bashed containers of UHT milk. Also, they gave only 1 large towel and 1 small one and 2 hand towels for 2 adults and a baby. There was mould in the bathroom. The shower kept going icy cold. And it was very noisy there. This is a residential building and people were playing music until late at night and shouting and so on. We could hear the people above very clearly. We didn't sleep well at all.
Review 35:The location was not that far from the centre of Worcester. The TV was big (though we don't really watch TV).
Review 36:We were give the wrong pin code for main door and apartment door. Could not turn radiator off in bathroom. Walls very thin (old building) could hear the people above walking, talking etc.
Review 37:For the price you pay its brilliant ... Would stay here again
Review 38:Not been able to get into the property. As we hadn't been sent the pad code via email. Wasn't as close to the cathedral as stated.
Review 39:Apartment was super. Modern furnishings very airy and relaxing.
Review 40:Basin not clean , breakfast bar does not work stools too tall , no storage for clothes , bed awkward but not impossible , put TV on wall and have normal table and chairs , design could be much improved.
Review 41:Location good, parking excellent , kitchen OK ,
Review 42:Ludicrous sleeping arrangements. Having to crawl on hands and knees to get into bed is absurd. Absolutely nowhere to store things. A bit more thought about practicalities rather than styling could make this quite special. As things stand, it is disappointment
Review 43:Ideally situated, parking, views from big windows, well equipped kitchen.
Review 44:Access to the sleeping area is hopeless. To have to crawl into bed on your hands and knees is absurd. No chair, no cupboard - nothing. There is nowhere to put anything downstairs either. The so called table is barely a foot off the ground and the noise from the flat above was intolerable. As another reviewer put it, more emphasis on functionality and less on style and this could be special. Sadly, it isn't.
Review 45:A pleasant living space and a well equipped kitchen area. Comfortable sofa and lovely views from the big windows. Easily accessed and convenient for the centre of Worcester.
Review 46:I booked a 2 bedroom apartment but only one double bed was available. I didn't see any notification about this even though they claim it was there. Apt 1 is up two flights of narrow stairs. Not easy for my 80 year old mother. One reason I booked the 2 bedroom apartment was so that I could avoid the room with the low ceiling. But I still got it. Seems maybe it's the only apartment they have. We bith hit our head numerous times.
Review 47:My opinion of this place is very poor because they don't give clear details about what they offer and what you get for your money.
Review 48:The experience of checking in was problematic - did not get sent the 'pin codes' for the doors, and so I had to ring up the contact number for the property to find out the codes. Once in the property, I was told there would be a welcome pack which would include the envelope to put the cash in, and the wifi code - there was no such pack, so again, I had to contact the given number to find out the wifi code, and ask how I should pay with the absence of a payment envelope. Property was also very noisy - heard the apartment above us moving around at 5 o'clock in the morning (!!) and then again at 6.30, so did not get a good nights sleep, especially seeing as the ceiling is very close to the bed! No one to communicate this to, and as of yet, haven't received confirmation that the cash I left has been taken as payment!
Review 49:The room was quirky, as we had imagined! Location was very close to Worcester town centre
Review 50:Nothing- all was great.
Review 51:Clean, well kitted out studio apartment. Bed was extremely comfortable, yes height in bedroom was restricted but hardly a big problem. Perry Wood Nature Reserve adjacent to property, this is excellent for dog walks & there ate several dog friendly pubs in the area ( seabright arms & mount pleasant are just 2 of them ). Our German shepherd doggy had a fab time.
Review 52:Ceiling low on bedroom where u have to kneel an get in to bed but wasn't a problem.
Review 53:Up-to-date room .. lovely an clean has all that u need .. washing machine hair dryer iron towel shower gel. :) happy
Review 54:Headroom above bed about 2 feet. With my replacement knees it involved crawling to get to bed. Not recommended for 2 over 70s.
Review 55:Well-appointed lounge and kitchen. Bed very comfortable after a difficult approach.
Review 56:My only concern about staying here was that ne and my partner found loads of lady bugs in the bedroom. Not just one or 2, we kept finding loads and they were on the bed as well.
Review 57:No mention of very limited headroom to access the bed! You had to bend double to get to the bed on mezzanine. The worst aspect of our stay was the noise from upstairs: heavy footsteps (on a hard floor) marching up and down all evening and throughout the first night (I couldn't sleep at all) together with noise from furniture being dragged across the floor. This is something that really must be addressed. We disliked having to eat at the ledge facing the wall- surely there is room for a small table and chairs rather than these very high stools.
Review 58:Convenience of the bus service into the city
Review 59:The upstairs sleeping area is pretty low with height. We didn't mind but some might not like
Review 60:Really liked how the apartment was set out, well decorated and nice touches. Keypads were easy to operate and a nice setting. Easy to get to from M5
Review 61:Could do with more kitchen equipment and the towel rail is very close to the entrance/exit of the shower (ouch)
Review 62:Beautifully decorated and clever use of the space. Comfortable, clean and modern.
Review 63:Maybe my own fault, but I didn't notice the booking info state that the mezzanine bedroom was kneeling room only. Physically impossible to stand upright. Had to crawl on hands and knees to bed. Heavily pregnant - wasn't good and needing the loo during the night didn't help either. But worst thing was the constant banging from the neighbour above. Sounded like furniture moving. Lasted 7pm, relentless until 10.30pm. Going to bed meant we were even closer to the noise. Spoilt the trip.
Review 64:Clean, nice kitchen and living area. Free wifi. That's as complimentary as it gets.
Review 65:The bed was so close to ceiling and therefore the floor above that you could hear every movement from the floor above. not easy getting up the stairs and then along to the bed because of low ceiling.
Review 66:The mezzanine bed area was uncomfortably restricted in head room due to a beam that reduced the already low ceiling height There was no table to work at / eat off Shops and restaurants all required a drive to reach.
Review 67:Accessible with good parking Spacious apartment Comfortable sofa
Review 68:Apartment are beautiful we stayed to celebrate my boyfriends 30th and had pre drinks before we went out with friends and it was lovely. Lots of room and close to clubs and bars
Review 69:The people in the apartment above were quite noisy and you could hear them stamping around. This was more of an issue sleeping on the mezzanine, being closer to the ceiling. That said I was still able to get a good night sleep.
Review 70:I loved the fact it was clean, modern and spacious. It was a nice alternative to a hotel, I could come back and cook my own food rather than having to go and look for a Restaurant.
Review 71:We could hear every footstep from the person in the flat above us.
Review 72:Excellent facilities provided. Really nicely decorated and modern apartment. Nice quiet location.
Review 73:Roof in the loft was low - but we managed to only hit our heads once each. On arrival, the fire alarm was beeping in the hallway as we let ourself in (no staff on site as far as we could tell). Fortunately the fire alarm has hand-written instructions on a note stuck to the front explaining how to turn the alarm off. Didn't fill us with confidence, but we didn't have any more problems. We wanted to wash clothes; the washer+dryer was very handy for this - except that we couldn't find any laundry detergent. We bought some from Tesco at the bottom of the hill and left it behind - hopefully it helps someone else.
Review 74:Good value for money. Apartment was newly renovated and very modern. Loft design makes for a very high ceiling in the main living space.
Review 75:There are 2 apartments, we were in the 'studio' apt 2. We managed, but you need to be aware that the 'futon' bed is on a mezzanine with 54 inches floor to ceiling (44 ins where the beam runs). It would be difficult for those with limited mobility and it would be useful to be told before booking.
Review 76:Overall a good, clean apartment. Quick reply with access details etc. Code locks good as my wife and I were doing different things.
Review 77:Wi-fi didn't work. No dishwasher tablets or dish cloths. Extractor fan in bathroom didn't work.
Review 78:Great value for money. Ideal location. Clean and modern.
Review 79:wifi code in welcome pack did not work and the contact number for staff was no longer in service
Review 80:lovely apartment, furnished to include cups/glasses and everything you could need, good location
Review 81:Could have been cleaner Esp under the toilet. There were quite a lot of flies. And the lighting at the side of the house going from the car to the entrance was not good as we arrived in the dark. Also the DVD player did not work. Also a bit concerned if there was a fire although we did see quite a lot of smoke alarms.
Review 82:Towels and bedding really clean and fresh. Large space and comfortable.
Review 83:Getting in instructions as there are 2no grey doors at top of conc steps with door codes at opposite ends of building
Review 84:Easy walking location into Worcester
Review 85:Quite dark at entrance, difficult to see number lock to enter code. Nowhere to put clothes and nowhere to put toiletries in shower room Because the bed is on a mezzanine you are quite close to ceiling and if the person in the apartment above walks around in shoes/boots at 1am in morning its difficult trying to sleep!
Review 86:Clean and all you need in kitchen Great WiFi Nice private and quiet location
Review 87:Amount of stairs Postcode given doesn't lead to the address Only 3 wine glasses and there were 4 of us No blind in the second bedroom
Review 88:Lovely place to stay. Only a couple of minor issues: - there was washing in the tumble dryer, not sure whether the towels in there were for us? We used them anyway as we were told we would get towels - apartment was really hit so we opened the windows. It rained when we were in the living room and when we went to bed, the quilt and sheet in the bigger bedroom was not usable as it was soaking. Didnt think opening a window would be a problem - no curtains or blind in the second bedroom so woke us up really early - so many stairs up to the second floor. We were with an elderly disabled person so it wasnt ideal - not in walking distance of the town Nond of this would stop us staying again though - good price, good communication, very comfortable and spacious :)
Review 89:3 flights of stairs....then again...I am getting on a bit !!!!
Review 90:Super clean, beautifully decorated with lots of character. Much better than a soulless hotel room ! Very quiet location. Went for son's Graduation at Cathedral ...5 minute taxi ride away for £4.50 and super polite drivers. Thoroughly recommend.
Review 91:Would have liked some lamps rather than having to have the bright spotlights on
Review 92:The location is good, great bathroom with a really nice shower, well-equipped kitchen and nice to have some tea & coffee available
Review 93:Nothing
Review 94:Fantastic clean and well equipped apartment.perfect for weekend stay when you want to do things in your own time . Would stay again as good value and only short walk to town and lots to do nearby.
Review 95:The instructions telling us how to enter the apartment did not mention that you had to go around the back of the building. There are two sets of concrete steps - one at the front and one at the back. The main part of the car park is at the front of the building, so we assumed that the entrance was in front of us. We did phone the office for help, but there was no-one there to answer the phone. It would have been nice to have had a few extra cups and plates. There is just a basic 4 of everything.
Review 96:The location was good - about a 20 minute walk to the town centre.with free parking.
Review 97:The entrance is around the back of the property not the front door (not a criticism just observation). Previous review stated noise from above, I think it is more the pipes that the resident.
Review 98:The freedom of having a self contained living space including well designed kitchen. Clean and modern design. Internet was upgraded on my second night and is now fast and reliable. The sleeping area is a little low however downstairs is that nice I only went up to sleep. I am gutted it is booked up for my next visit to Worcester.
Review 99:Very low ceiling in bedroom Would be difficult for older people to sleep on mezzanine floor Also bathroom downstairs However we loved it!
Review 100:Warmth Great bathroom and kitchen Smart TV Quiet location
Review 101:No coffee machine, but I did bring my cafetiere. Windows & communal stairways need finishing (paintwork needs cleaning up).
Review 102:Very well-equipped apartment which was very comfortable. We will come again.
Review 103:Lovely modern apartment resonably close to the town centre. It suited us fine as we were heading from Edinburgh to Bath by car, the apartment provided a lovely overnight break with everything we needed.
Review 104:If you are tall it is impossible to get in and out of bed as the head space is less than 4ft it makes life really difficult for one person I dread to think how a couple would go on. You have to crawl on your hands and knees to get into bed and out of bed which is a real issue for me,
Review 105:Location Good, nice living area
Review 106:Lack of air on the mezzanine level.Only possible to sleep with ground floor window open (not ideal for security) Had to clean insides of fridge and microwave before using them.Outside approach very scruffy.( foil tray of charcoal and cigarette stubs on ground. Tarmac needed repair. Garden overgrown with brambles.)
Review 107:Kitchen and bathroom well equipped. Position good.
Review 108:Confusing address ! The e mail conformation is not the address of the apartment it's the other side of town ,it took it took many phone calls and internet time to establish the right address .
Review 109:The apartment was short of nothing, except a wardrobe
Review 110:You do have to bend down in order to get into the bed, but this is a minor quibble on what is an excellent place to stay.
Review 111:Everything is included, from tea and coffee to handwash in both the bathroom and kitchen. There is also an abundance of power points which is perfect for today's rechargeable devices.
Review 112:Although we knew the bedroom had reduced ceiling height we thought we would be ok with it but in reality it wasnt ideal, also no storage space for clothes so we lived out of our suitcases for 3 days.
Review 113:Clean modern apartment, plenty of parking space, close to city centre.
Review 114:Nothing I can think of.
Review 115:Large uncluttered comfortable rooms. A bed that gave me possibly the best nights sleep I have had on my frequent visits to Worcester. Excellent facilities for a longer stay. Plenty of parking space and no unwelcome noise from outside that you sometimes get at some hotels in the centre.
Review 116:No blinds on the windows or skylights (though nothing a competent engineer can't fix) Low ceilings Lots of steps Looks unfinished. The doors and woodwork are undercoat grey; the floor is dust-coloured wood; there's a bit of paint on the windows. Needs some pictures to brighten it up. Poor security (though nothing a competent engineer can't fix). A bolt on the door would be a start, as would a safe.
Review 117:Almost all consumables (soap, salt, tea, milk etc) provided, which was a very nice touch by the owner. WiFi Easy parking Quiet Comfortable Kids thought it was fun Good view, especially when a fireworks display started
Review 118:The sleeping space was very restrictive although very comfortable bed. No room for storage.
Review 119:Over all it is very good for short stays , easy distance from City centre, walkable, good parking area.at apartments. Ground floor apartment.
Review 120:Welcome email didn't arrive so confusion re entry codes on arrival and had to wait 30 min for response from staff. Unclear from website that price only included one of two bedrooms so then had to pay extra.
Review 121:Good location, close to town centre but far enough away to be quiet. Nicely furnished apartment, good kitchen and bathroom.
Review 122:Only 3 of everything (large towels, glasses, mugs etc) in an apartment for 4
Review 123:Lovely comfortable apartments, well equipped with all the basics you need. Beds were lovely and comfy and the staff really helpful before check in
Review 124:It's not suitable for people with mobility problems as there are lots of steps to get up to the apartment, but this did not cause a problem for us.
Review 125:We stayed here in the 2 bedroom apartment as a stopover for 1 night with a toddler. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. It was only a few minutes from the M5 and Worcester. The staff kindly opened the second room for us so that we could use it for the travel cot and therefore not disturb our daughter when we went to bed. We received a welcome pack via e mail before we arrived that provided us with directions, door codes etc. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 126:Top floor apartment, with skylights that had no blinds. So it was too bright, and we couldn't leave them open in the day in case of rain, and it was very stuffy in the apartment when we returned in the evening. We rushed to close them one night in a storm, and I bruised my arm badly hitting a piece of furniture. Figured out the quickest wash cycle on the washer, but the drying cycle was too long and left the clothes wrinkled. Would have been nice to have had a drying rack. I ended up hanging the clothes to dry on hangers in the closets. Hard to figure out the shower water temperature - had a cold shower until we figured it out. Only had 2 chairs, and the table was squished under the eaves - 4 of us in our party. Upper kitchen cupboards opened like awning windows - you had to hold them open while you tried to put the dishes away. I also discovered a dirty pot, and I broke 2 glasses as the last tenants had unhooked the top rack in the dishwasher - would have been nice if details like this were checked between renters. Apartment is at the top of 3 flights of stairs - we were given the wrong directions initially and it took about 5 minutes to find our way to the right set of stairs. Plus it was confusing every morning to find the right doors to go out the front door. The front door code, I guess, is changed on Monday morning, and we stayed Friday to Wednesday. Good thing another tenant in the building told my son on Monday morning, and told him the code doesn`t change on the back door, otherwise we would have been locked out.
Review 127:Location okay, top of a hill, but with no windows and only skylights you had to lean out of the skylight to see the view. Would have liked to see the view while sitting on the couch. Tesco at the bottom of the hill, so convenient for groceries. 20-30 minute walk to downtown Worcester and train stations. Beds were comfortable, but rooms were too bright because of the skylights. Everything in the kitchen worked, although could have used more dishes and glasses.
Review 128:The incessant beeping of the fire-alarm in the morning with the notification that the 'routine service' was overdue.
Review 129:Lovely location, plenty of natural light, easy access and great facilities.
Review 130:The advertised mezzanine sleeping area was, ignoring the beam you had to duck under, significantly less than the 5ft advertised. We would say 4ft. Thus you had to crawl about. There was also an unpleasant smell in the accommodation. I also took a cup from the top shelf in the cupboard, which was full of a drink made by previous occupants - days old, which spilt over me.
Review 131:My only complate was that it was by far too hot especially when u went to bed in the mezanine although bed was so comfy couldn't sleep sorry
Review 132:It was a fantastic place. Excellent so relaxed and comfortable
Review 133:It really is at the top of the house so lots of stairs to negotiate. We took a while to get used to the coded entry and felt a little vulnerable at first until we cracked it! The shower is great but has a small cubicle so people on the large side may find it uncomfortable - definitely not for sharing!
Review 134:The apartment is beautifully decorated and has a modern style whilst being cosy with beamed ceilings. Lots of dvds to watch if you wanted to and had the time. Great kitchen area with everything provided.
Review 135:Small washbasin; no dining table or storage for clothes. Could sacrifice some style for more functionality.
Review 136:Clean, warm and well-equipped. Comfy settee; well-equipped kitchen; good shower; modern TV; easy keypad access.
Review 137:We did not meet any staff but a young woman who was attending her wedding gave us the correct PIN when the one in our correspondence failed to work. Beyond the call f duty!
Review 138:No dishwasher tablets No key - door codes made us feel a bit unsafe
Review 139:Really good value for money, stunning property with all modern features! Clean spacious stylish and the best night sleep I've had in a while:)
Review 140:It wasn't bad for us but for some the apartment on the top floor accessible by 46 steps might be a bit much if dragging luggage.
Review 141:Lovely and comfortable apartment. Newly done up and very clean. Wished we had booked in longer. Kitchen area looked efficient although we didn't use it. Washer/dryer a plus.
