Reviews for Clayhill House Bed & Breakfast
Review 1:Lovely warm welcome on arrival Breakfast good We had the back room in the house, looking into the forest. Plenty of room. Location was perfect for us.
Review 2:Very comfortable, immaculate room. Friendly reception and welcoming, yet not too intrusive. Excellent breakfast cooked to order. Can thoroughly recommend this B&B
Review 3:N/A
Review 4:I went for a short break to treat my daughter/24, before starting a new job. We were both absolutely delighted when we were shown to our large and bright room. Very friendly hosts. Chris recommended we visit Keyhaven for a nice walk, we were not disappointed. Thank you.
Review 5:Front room is overlooking the road so some traffic noise (good double glassed windows though and large tree full of garden birds improves the outlook).
Review 6:Friendly and helpful owners, accommodated our late arrival. Great location for exploring the new forest. Off road parking. Generous breakfast and good value / sized room.
Review 7:Can't really say there was anything we didnt like.
Review 8:Lovely setting in the forest. Owners were extremely friendly and helpful. The quality and quantity of the food is excellent. Would recommend it to anyone.
Review 9:All was good
Review 10:Staff went out of their way for me, very welcoming and friendly. Room and bed were huge! Sitting room on side of bedroom. Every need anticipated.
Review 11:Had to sleep with windows closed because front room is right on the main road. The night's tariff was taken in total immediately the booking was made. Car park is tricky to get out of if it's full.
Review 12:Breakfast was good.
Review 13:Lovely warm hosts, fantastic room bed so comfy, loved the treats left In room. Excellent location pub few doors down do lovely food and really friendly. breakfast was so yummy and loads to choose from. Would recommend staying here. I'll definitely be staying again
Review 14:Great location, quaint, quiet, comfy bed, lovely hosts, excellent breakfast , good bathroom facilities, excellent WIFI, parking and great pub walking distance a few doors down the road with fantastic food.
Review 15:Lovely property, delicious breakfast with fresh eggs from the on site chickens. Loved watching the variety of birds feeding throughout the day.Friendly, informative host.
Review 16:Breakfast did take a while to come out but it was very nice. Bed not very comfy but I am very fussy! Main road outside quite noisy so couldn't have windows open. Couldn't hear a thing when windows shut though so that's good.
Review 17:Breakfast. Owners son very friendly.
Review 18:House on busy main road but back of house quieter and surrounded by woodland. From our bedroom windows we saw many woodpeckers, sometimes all at the same time, feeding in the garden. Also foxes in the meadow in the evenings though no deer whilst we were there and resident cockerels and their ladies in the garden.
Review 19:If you are a light sleeper the b and b is on a busy road, having said that we slept well.
Review 20:flexibility of check in times, 12.00 being given key so you could come and go as youliked. breakfast was lovely.room was very nice.
Review 21:Check in midday, we arrived 2.30pm, no one home, no message, no note left, owner arrived after 4pm. 60mph road with heavy traffic metres from our bedroom window.
Review 22:Little too close to a very busy road with traffic starting about 5.30am and going until midnight. Nice room but awful bed-matress
Review 23:If exploring the New Forest, then Lyndhurst is quite central. Owners very welcoming, with good breakfast, their local wild birds charming and chickens entertaining.
Review 24:Well situated just outside of Lyndhurst. The pub that was in walking distance sells excellent food, just right for a wind down at the end of the day. Room was well kept and had a seating area with tv.Just perfect!
Review 25:Hmm... nothing really to mention.
Review 26:Everything! Quiet, comfy, delicious breakfast, friendly and flexible hosts... I've got a feeling, this B&B stands out from the rest.
Review 27:The only slight drawback is that you do get some traffic noise from being on the main road, but it is not a busy road at night so didn't really impact on our stay to any great degree. It wouldn't stop us staying there again.
Review 28:Spotless, comfortable, very pretty decor, excellent breakfast, easy parking. Spacious room with seating area and comfy armchairs around the TV. Good access to Lyndhurst & Brockenhurst by car or bus. Access into forest within 100 yards and nice pub next door but one. Would recommend.
Review 29:Mature house with beautiful gardens overlooking the forest. Tasteful decor and linen, and wall pictures. Light bright room. Generous hospitality tray plus sweeties. Quality cooked breakfast. Owners went the extra mile to accommodate my strange work hours.
Review 30:Road was a little noisy for me, but I'm a light sleeper.
Review 31:Lovely welcome, clean, tidy and well equipped room, good WiFi, great shower and brilliant breakfast with plenty of options.
Review 32:Small ensuite with shower would be too small for larger boned guests I fear.
Review 33:Comfortable bed and excellent breakfast. Perfect location for the New Forest. Off road parking. Clean and tasteful decor.
Review 34:Friendly and thoughtful hospitality, little extras such as torches for the short walk into town, and freedom to come and go during the day. Much more like being a guest in someone's home than staying at a B&B.
Review 35:We were worried that the proximity to the road outside would be an issue but we didn't hear it at all..
Review 36:Great location, nice and quiet but close enough to walk into Lymington for a meal and with a pub within spitting distance. Lovely cosy feel to the place, great hospitality and a very nice breakfast. Right on the edge of the forest for a morning stroll, and only 15 mins drive from the coast. I would reccomend.
Review 37:Road noise is very loud despite double glazing, makes it very difficult to sleep. Bathroom tiny and dated, weak shower, needs replacing.
Review 38:Breakfast was good as was the variety and quality of the tea tray. Lovely selection of birds feeding in garden.
Review 39:Nothing to dislike.
Review 40:Clay hill was easy to find, even in the dark. We received warm welcome on arrival, lovely room with every possible home comfort supplied. Lovely breakfast, local produce and home made preserves.
Review 41:Clayhill House was a very comfortable and friendly place to stay. We were looked after extremely well. Information was very comprehensive on the surrounding area. I would certainly stay again.
Review 42:Slightly off the main trek through the New Forest but probably the better for it
Review 43:Fabulous property; huge room; amazing bed! Decent breakfast; couple who were b&b-sitting were very friendly and quite funny! Added to the experience. Wouldn't hesitate to come back.
Review 44:the room was fantastic, very spacious, own sitting area, the staff were very helpful and very friendly, they could do any more for us, we WILL be stopping there again, breakfast was very nice, local produce and hot, we had our own key for the front door, all in all a fab-u-las place
Review 45:Front bedroom in the house was a little noisy (from road traffic) first thing in the morning. Aside from that, the room and B&B was perfect.

Review 50:Great location, really comfy bed and great to have armchairs in the room. The breakfast was lovely too. Overall a lovely break. P.s the marmalade was scrummy x
Review 51:The main road to Lymington runs past the front of the guest house so getting in and out of the small car park can be a tricky problem at busy times!
Review 52:Very warm welcome with tea and biscuits. Very comfortable room and excellent breakfast. A very good base to visit the attractions of the New Forest area.
Review 53:Only thing was the poor mobile phone reception which is no fault of the B&B, as it was ok in the local village I assumed that it was down to the trees blocking the signal
Review 54:The owner was very nice and attentive, the room & shower were very clean. Everything was as described and ths food was 1st class. Other staying at the time agreed
Review 55:Bit of a squeeze with parking.
Review 56:Friendly hosts, loved the birds at the feeders and the colourful chickens in the back. Walk into town. Comfortable room.
Review 57:The shower room facilities were a little too "bijou and for very slim persons only. The basin too small and the hot water for the basin comae from a strange little electric heater over the basin which did work but too up more room.#Duvets not comfortable, not natural fibres. No where to sit outside. It was very hot."
