Reviews for St. Pierre Park Hotel & Golf

Review 1:Unfortunatley the hotel is being refurbished so few guests and no buffet bar in the mornings Had to order of the menu But missed that fantastic morning buffet

Review 2:Great location,Buses couple of minutes walk Friendly staff

Review 3:I booked this hotel as i was over for business and decided i would treat myself to a hotel with pool facilities (even though it was further out from town) however on arrival was told the pool was closed. I was quite disappointed and would have stayed in town if i had known this.

Review 4:The hotel was lovely and very clean and the breakfast was very good.

Review 5:The staff were very helpful and were most efficient during an actual fire alarm- turned out to be false. Well done. Dealt with grumpy guest (not me) during alarm and remained pleasnt.Again well done. Thank you for making a tough time bearable - I was there for a friend's funeral.

Review 6:Food that we ordered (room service) was quite bad (no taste whatsoever); tasty breakfast

Review 7:Friendly staff, beautiful location, well-equipped health spa facilities

Review 8:The public areas and our room had worn and stained carpets. This was unacceptable for the prices charged.

Review 9:A good, modern hotel with outstanding views over the lake from their dining room.

Review 10:Guest room doors slam shut and would benefit from soft closures.

Review 11:Well appointed room with very comfortable bed . Balcony overlooking the lovely gardens. A good choice of breakfast foods. Great staff : friendly, helpful and professional.

Review 12:Dining room closing at 2100 so had to use the bistro menu. Some areas looking tired but understand that refurbishment programme in progress.

Review 13:Staff all exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Review 14:-Breakfast was disappointing, berries were defrosted inadequately, cooked breakfast was luke warm. Staff didn't ask why a plate of cooked food was left uneaten. -Balcony was a bit tatty

Review 15:-Quiet at night despite a function being held in the hotel -located near airport

Review 16:We came for a spa and golf weekend, the husbands had a lovely time on the golf course but the 'spa' was nothing extraordinary - the pool/area is dated, there weren't enough loungers (there were only 4 of us). There was generally nothing luxurious about this spa/pool facility. It's nice that there is a pool on offer but its not a typical spa resort.

Review 17:The hotel was clean and tidy, the food was great, the rooms were very comfortable.

Review 18:There's a restaurant downstairs which is nothing to do with hotel which is only open Friday and Saturday night. The hotel restaurant is not big enough to accommodate everyone in the hotel and was fully booked, so on the Sunday night we just had to eat in the bar, which wasn't ideal. So definitely book tables.

Review 19:Great place to stay. Can't fault pretty much all of it really.

Review 20:The pillows were too soft and did not give adequate support. The path around the lake need to be resurfaced, as it was not possible to push a pram to go to see the ducks.

Review 21:All the facilities were excellent, in particular the Dining Room and the Pool area.

Review 22:Warning order soft drinks at the bar and you will get stung! £3.20 pint of coke and £2.55 pint soda and lime.

Review 23:Great location, friendly staff, great facilities, will definitely use again.

Review 24:Our original booking was for 2 double rooms and one single as we were celebrating my husband's 75th & son's 40th birthdays. I telephoned the hotel to advise that we now only required one double room and one twin as my son's partner was unable to come. However, on arrival we were allocated 2 double rooms and my sons were relocated to another room with 2 single beds but in a poor location and only with towels etc for one person and no fridge. On the first night they had to contact reception 3 times to complain about the noise and were woken very early each morning as the room was next to the housekeepers room.

Review 25:The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.

Review 26:The Victor Hugo restaurant is not a suitable venue for obese pensioner "yobs" to turn up dressed in shorts, flipflops and printed tee shirts !

Review 27:Overall a slick operation with only a few minor irritants.

Review 28:some really rude staff, had to spend over an hour to get rooms had spent £1200 for 4 nights & 2 rooms didnt get the garden view. staff generally rude. didnt tell breakfast options or simply ignored having us to approach ourselves.

Review 29:lovely location clean rooms hotel resturant Pavillion good. swimming pool & sauna poorly maintained.

Review 30:Victor Hugo staff rather casual. Did not like sachets of condiments in a 4 * hotel.

Review 31:Good breakfast with helpful staff. Good location. Nice vista from room. Decent value for money.

Review 32:The staff at breakfast were friendly and polite but thought that some additional training would help things to run more smoothly. Also staff should be told that if they drop cutlery on the floor when setting tables they should not pick it up and put it onto the table to be used by guests. On the day we left being asked by the housekeeper before 8:30 when we would be vacating our room was not what you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Also disappointing when the room attendant has been so very good and helpful.

Review 33:Very good bedroom with king size bed. Nice large bathroom.

Review 34:No air-conditioning in bedroom, which got a little warm.

Review 35:Lovely grounds, excellent facilities, good food, helpful staff, good location from which to explore the island.

Review 36:A beautiful setting with a large colorful garden. A challenging 9-hole golf course and a nice swimming pool with sauna and steam bath and unforgettable spa treatments. An ideal central location to visit Guernsey, a few miles from St Peter (2 minutes by car from the city center). Beyond all this, the remarkable efficiency and skill of each staff, especially by using every effort to make you the happiest couple to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

Review 37:Hotel being updated and we had one of the older rooms - still very comfortable. Had room 450 - not a quiet room as right next to end of corridor fire doors that bang, bang, bang every time people go through (ie to breakfast). No chance of sleeping in.

Review 38:Nicely located for what we wanted - access to whole of island for walking. Facilities probably some of best on Island. Staff very friendly. Beds very comfortable.

Review 39:Even Executive rooms on lower floors have obstructed views. 2nd and 3rd Floors have unobstructed view of lake and grounds. Evening prices in Lounge bar are extortionate. (Large white wine £10.40 and bottled beers all over £5 )

Review 40:Plenty of leisure facilities such as tennis courts, golf course, indoor pool etc. etc.

Review 41:Breakfast. Disappointing quality, condiments not replenished, waited a long time for milk/sugar/butter. All things that should have been laid out for guests.

Review 42:Loved the room, bar, pool and golf facilities

Review 43:Had not realised it was not a disable friendly hotel and a walk in shower was not available.

Review 44:Reception staff dealt with all questions and requests speedily and efficiently.

Review 45:No bad experience but allocation of position of bedrooms is a lottery. This is our fourth stay and we have gone from garden views to lake views to car park views to a balcony over the entrance ! The new yacht sculpture outside the entrance replacing the lovely fountain is ugly.

Review 46:The hotel gardens and lake are beautiful. The indoor 18m swimming pool and spa complex is excellent.

Review 47:Reception staff were friend and efficient. My room had glass doors that opened out on a terrace overlooking a park and pond with a fountain. Lovely to work from. I could walk to clients on the Esplanade in 20 minutes.

Review 48:Wifi very intermittent couldn't get a single in my room at all. This made me incur charges to my pen that I want expecting as I thought I was on wifi.

Review 49:Well placed hotel for walking into town and for buses. Everything was excellent.

Review 50:I was trying to rest for an hour at 18.00hrs after traveling all day by road and the boat. I couldn't do this as workman decided to dig the front entrance up with a nu-matic drill, in the end I went out of the hotel to get away from it and also found a restaurant to eat out, Fancy that at that time of day I sure this could have waited till the next day!

Review 51:This hotel has been cleaned up from the last time I stayed here, 4 years ago.

Review 52:One small gripe - the wife was a but intermittent but it certainly didn't alter our opinion of the hotel, facilities or staff.

Review 53:The staff are incredibly friendly, the breakfasts are wonderful with an extremely wide range of choices. Very helpful on reception too. We could find no faults. Our second stay and we will definitely be back.

Review 54:Receptionist Maxine was the rudest person I have ever met. Her customer service skills when I was wanting to add an extra night were quite frankly disgusting.

Review 55:Great Location and facilities

Review 56:A bit slow with the breakfast service on Easter Sunday. The breakfast plates could be a bit warmer as could the bacon.

Review 57:Warm welcome, staff polite, friendly, courteous and helpful. Rooms clean, well appointed with huge beds and comfy pillows. Swimming pool is gorgeous.

Review 58:Bit noisy on sat night but only due to a function in one of the rooms but we were to,d by management about the function by letter under the door & all was quiet again by midnight.

Review 59:The location was great with free parking. Waitrose supermarket less than 2 mins walk away. Rooms cleaned daily - spotless. Staff - lovely and friendly nothing was too much trouble.

Review 60:The Beds in some rooms are very soft...not to my liking..

Review 61:Whilst staying it was my Birthday, when I got back to my room there had been a Fruit bowl delivered...Nice touch..

Review 62:Except for the rooms, the hotel is in need of updating as it is looking very tired -carpets, decor, and exterior. The hotel location is not close to St Peter Port, and you would need to account for a taxi ride - unless you are happy to walk 20 mins.

Review 63:The staff were very pleasant and helpful - especially at reception. The rooms (executive) were spacious and clean and of a good standard.

Review 64:Flush did not work very well and wardrobe door squeaked loadly, both item were reported on departure and the did say they would be dealt with.

Review 65:Staff very helpful and cheerful

Review 66:The room had an iron burn on the carpet and the mini fridge was empty n wonky like legs had been broken n just left like that

Review 67:The facilities were excellent good atmosphere around the place and amazing view from our room

Review 68:The Staff didn't know what they were doin. Had food orders coming to us when they werent for us. No steak knives for our steak. Couldn't understand English properly.

Review 69:Food was amazing, couldn't fault it.

Review 70:Friendliness of the staff and their attentiveness. Cleanliness and comfort of the room. Breakfast buffet was excellent as was Xmas lunch with the family. Competitions, jigsaws and outings arranged for guests were a very idea. Will happily stay here again .

Review 71:Just a shame that the main bar was smaller than normal as there was another function so the lounge bar was quite small and not as cosy as usual but not a huge issue. The waiter joined our tables together to suit us better.

Review 72:Stayed as part of a wedding party. Buffet Food was excellent, Breakfast was lovely, staff very accommodating, friendly and polite.

Review 73:Tired, not well maintained and in desperate need of renovation. Victor Hugo restaurant poor. Bar area not suitable for dining or a quiet drink. Large TV screens on all day and evening. Although quite clean holes in curtains, dirty windows, broken tiles & threadbare carpets not acceptable.

Review 74:Staff were very professional. Breakfast was extremely good. Spa , Pool Golf and grounds wonderful. Good value for 4*

Review 75:The health spa messed up my booking which impacted on my days schedule, they tried to sort out the issue but unfortunately due to some food that didn't agree with me I was unable to take them up on that offer. They were however eager to find out and sort out both issues. Wifi strength is not great for business use, quite slow.

Review 76:the rooms were clean and comfortable, i didn't sleep well just because i usually have an orthopaedic pillow, any issues were taken seriously and rectified.

Review 77:It was not easy to secure the patio doors. Plus no fridge or air conditioning.

Review 78:The set up was excellent staff freindly and efficient. Time seemed slow down it. Appeared we were there for weeks instead the five days.

Review 79:Quiet, well appointed room overlooking the garden . Comfortable bed. Very good standard of cleanliness. Friendly , efficient staff. Great choice of food at breakfast.

Review 80:Smoking allowed on balconies meant we had to keep window closed. Our room close to lift which meant it was noisy at times.

Review 81:Location, facilities, staff and value for money.

Review 82:Disappointed more progress hasn't been made with the wobbly flagstones.

Review 83:The room, the pool, the gardens, the lake, the location, the breakfast, the staff.

Review 84:Staff could be alot nicer Staff could be alot more organised Booking was messed up payed for three rooms but only teo was reserved after waiting an hour i got a single occupancy room but paid for a twin. No air con. Minibar empty. No complimentary water (sounds daft but with 20oc heat without aircon and the tap water tastes very bad it would be nice)

Review 85:The island is really nice. The hotel looked really smart Food was very nice.

Review 86:Staff on reception were a little abrupt. WiFi signal poor, to compete in the modern world hotels must have excellent wifi. The hotel looks tired in places such as the steam room and sauna.

Review 87:Food and facilities good.

Review 88:The wine prices were very high.

Review 89:The hotel was clean and well looked after. The swimming pool and spa were excellent. The par 3 golf course attached to the hotel was testing and interesting.

Review 90:Pool over-chlorinated. Severely affected eyes so only used once. Room safe on floor. Not accessible to me as I have arthritis and am unable to bend knees. Unable to read the Nespresso coffee selection!!

Review 91:Location. Cleanliness. First class food. Staff attentive.

Review 92:The menu for children needs to include vegetables and a bit more variety

Review 93:The staff were so friendly and they made you feel so welcome, The food was excellent for adults Grounds were fantastic

Review 94:I remember passing SPP and looking in awe as a kid on family holidays 30 yrs ago when it opened! It's still a lovely hotel with great facilities and looks good from the front. However it's showing its age a little now as you walk around and my room didn't have air con or minibar.

Review 95:Good breakfast, great pool, with more time could've played tennis and crazy golf with kids. Looks suitably classy from the outside.

Review 96:Staff were all very friendly and helpful, food was delicious and surroundings are beautiful. 30 minute walk into St Peter Port, buses run regularly as well.

Review 97:Lack of ventilation in room. Could only open verandah door to ventilate and noise of compressor near to room was then disturbing. Could do with air conditioning

Review 98:Lovely grounds. Excellent courteous welcoming and helpful staff. Excellent food in restaurants and good value. Relaxing and friendly atmosphere.

Review 99:It was a nice place to stay, the staff were all very good as was the food although we only had breakfast the grounds were also nice, local bus into town just up the road very useful.

Review 100:Wine in the bar and restaurant was exorbitantly priced (compared even with London prices) but of mediocre quality. A blot on an otherwise very enjoyable stay.

Review 101:Asked for and were given a quiet room. Efficient & friendly staff. Excellent service from housekeeping. Very well placed for walking, driving or busing into St.Petersport.

Review 102:Travelling from here is not the easiest especially if you have a young toddler. Room could do with fan or A/C.

Review 103:Breakfast facility, outdoors, room facilities (with balcony), children's play area was amazing!

Review 104:We stayed as we were playing at the guernsey mini football festival along with 7 other teams of under 10's at the hotel and the management seemed to forget there where a lot of children around and had organised a boxing event which had people partying until 5am. Not good considering the age of most of the guests.

Review 105:The pool was excellant and so was the pool and leisure complex.

Review 106:The gym aerobic equipment is tired and the sunbeds are cheap and uncomfortable. A simple and affordable way to upgrade these facilities and achieve an excellent score.

Review 107:Hotel was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Hotel grounds and garden are beautiful and a great asset for relaxation

Review 108:Staff fighting whilst serving tables, rude service, indifferent service. Guests being left to party until after 3am because "they're entitled to enjoy the facilities" despite disturbing several other rooms around them. Rooms have no windows or air conditioning and you have to leave sliding doors open to enable a restful night even though it is not secure. Spa day for four organised such that we couldn't spend the time together due to appointment times.

Review 109:Location, restaurants and cleanliness

Review 110:Everything at the St Pierre Park was perfect. Friendly staff, relaxed atmosphere, excellent room and facilities. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

Review 111:Staff are very friendly. nice clean rooms. Put a fridge in my room and early check in at request.

Review 112:Spa and pool shut.

Review 113:Big hotel attitude for Guernsey.

Review 114:Poor gym facilities due to the building work.

Review 115:Rooms bit tired

Review 116:Best scrambled eggs ever in any hotel ever stayed in!

Review 117:Nothing

Review 118:Pleasant staff and food excellent, comfortable bed that we overslept missing breakfast!

Review 119:Room was very hot

Review 120:Good breakfast

Review 121:THE ONLY PROBLEM WAS AT RECEPTION THEY WERE SLOW IN FINDING NAMES IN THE BOOKING. THE BOOKING WAS MADE EARLY IN THE DAY!

Review 122:VERY GOOD BREAKFASRT

Review 123:Nothing apart from the fact that I could hear the woman in the next room talking.

Review 124:The pool was good and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 125:The overall warmth of the hotel staff, and the helpfulness with Food Intolerances.

Review 126:The breakfast Pain Au Chocolate aren't fresh in the morning and taste like packed ones.

Review 127:Everything

Review 128:Friendly, helpful staff, who went out of their way to make us feel welcome and looked after. Good facilities and lovely, comfortable room.
