Reviews for The Willows

Review 1:not complaining, but only one chair and plenty of room for another in our twin room.

Review 2:The young lady who was cooking in the morning was really helpful and very polite. Nice big room. Nice en suite. Good to have the use of the kitchen. only a short walk to the centre. Nice parking area at front of house

Review 3:No coat hooks by wardrobe. Could do with vertical blinds on all windows plus patio door for privacy

Review 4:Nicely sized warm and quiet room. Comfortable and modern. Fantastic wi fi with great speed. Nice tv. Friendly helpful staff.

Review 5:Very comfortable and clean room, excellent décor friendly host, walking distance from local attractions. Excellent breakfast. would recommend to friends and family

Review 6:Limited off-road parking if arriving late. Dependent on who is there. However, owner helpful in finding alternative parking nearby.

Review 7:Very convenient for most of the attractions in Stratford upon Avon. 5-10 minutes walk from the town centre.

Review 8:Not really bad but we were surprised that we had to call the landlady to bring us the key as none of us had a working phone. So that was a bit of a problem until a stranger lent us one to call.

Review 9:The lovely house and cleanliness. It was great value for money as it also included a cooked breakfast! Diana ( I think that was her name) was very friendly and welcoming.

Review 10:Loved everything. I can't think of anything we didn't like!

Review 11:We loved this place! It was clean, comfortable and just around the corner from the centre of town. The owner was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast in the morning was very good! We would stay here again!

Review 12:We had the ground floor garden room which was lovely, but got very cold at night and first thing in the morning. They do provide an electrical heater though. Not great choice if you want a cooked vegetarian breakfast.

Review 13:Location was fantastic, just 10min walk from town centre and Shakespeare's birthplace. The room was lovely, and the house was cosy, staff were friendly.

Review 14:Great location. We stayed the night for dads birthday. Clean, comfortable and cheaper than most. We got the front upstairs room with a double and single bed with ensuite. Beds were fab. Linen and towels spotless. Breakfast included.

Review 15:Bedroom door squeezed so it was hard to be quiet with others on the premises! Such a little dislike.....

Review 16:The cleanliness, convenience to town and Jim and Diana!

Review 17:Lovely welcome, clean and comfortable room and a lovely cooked breakfast in the morning. Close to the centre of Stratford and able to park at the premises.

Review 18:The self containment of the room and access to the kitchen. Also it was very reasonably priced. My wife was pleased with th accommodation so it must have been good

Review 19:There was noone at the house when we arrived and the introductions were brief The house does not have any permanent occupant as other B&B's, any problems therefore, needed a phone call There were no tea / coffe making facilities in the room

Review 20:The young staff member was very friendly and looked after both the room and breakfast very well

Review 21:Our room gave directly on to the car parking space: it was rather bare and functional, and could do with better furnishings, . Traditional heavy English breakfast - or just croissants.

Review 22:Convenient location for the theatres. Nice to have access to kitchen, and the beds were comfortable.

Review 23:Lack of privacy for ground floor room - car park right outside window with no blinds/net curtains; no lamp or beside table/shelf near second bed. All brought to proprietors attention and were told they are going to be dealt with later in the year.

Review 24:Location for public transport and town within walking distance; breakfast; friendly welcome; very accommodating.

Review 25:Picky, but could do with a few more plugs in the room, there was only one double socket, both used with lamps. especially as everyone has phones ipads to charge up.

Review 26:Location to town, value for money.

Review 27:Great central location, owner accommodating on early check in, free parking. Good breakfast and comfortable room with all the facilities you may need.

Review 28:This is a really nice B&B, very clean, well run. Staff were lovely and offered to make us a cup of tea on arrival. 10 minute walk from the middle of Stratford.

Review 29:Very dissapointed that we had to leave our car on a busy road as there was no parking space outside the guest house

Review 30:A lovely warm reception from the owner on arrival

Review 31:Clean rooms and comfortable beds. All en suite. Accommodated our early arrival. Free parking. Good full English breakfast served early for our departure home.

Review 32:The bedroom door was sticking a bit, hopefully we didn't t wake anyone when shutting it

Review 33:Friendly staff, excellent breakfast, quiet location. Comfy beds . Loved it all

Review 34:Breakfast cereals were pitiful. All cereals were sweet and cheap. Fruit was not sufficiently provided. We had a twin bedded room. One of the beds had no bedside light, no space around the bed to rest anything on.

Review 35:The owners were very friendly and very helpful. We liked the location. The self catering facilities.

Review 36:A wonderful welcome on arrival with a pot of tea in the courtyard; we were given clear directions on how to get there from the train; great chat and advice at breakfast

Review 37:Everything.Short walk to town. Love Stratford, lively and modern. 1 min drive to Stratford Racecourse where I was working for the weekend. Sitting in the garden at 5.30am eating breakfast. Will try and book again for next year.

Review 38:The owner and staff are really friendly and always take out time to have a chat. The room we stayed in was really comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 39:The tomatoes served at breakfast were TINNED! Why on earth not fresh ones?

Review 40:I appreciated the friendliness of the proprietors, who nevertheless respected one's privacy. The plain, tasteful decor was refreshing too -- and the generous tea, coffee, milk etc facilities in the kitchen.

Review 41:The only negative comment I could make is that the comforters were so warm that it was hard to get the room cool enough, to be comfortable

Review 42:Room was very clean, and roomy, and the beds were very good and comfortable. Location was excellent and value was good. Oh and breakfast was very good.

Review 43:No heating on at all. The room and bathroom was freezing in the night/morning. Spoilt the stay.

Review 44:Warm welcome, shared kitchen for drinks, 5 minute walk into Stratford, car parking fee.

Review 45:Nothing!

Review 46:Great room, the bed was so comfortable! Also the breakfast was beautiful, and served by a Lady that couldn't do enough for us. We had the little one with us so didn't get packed up in time for Check out, but we were told it was fine that we were late out. Overall great experience. Would definitely stay again!

Review 47:Proprietors were helpful and fixed one minor problem with bathroom door immediately. Very flexible with breakfast times. The location was fairly good and free parking was a bonus.

Review 48:No reception and rooms were very basic

Review 49:The staff was very nice and friendly. Breakfast was very good! Would definitely recommend this place! Not so far from center but quiet!

Review 50:There is nothing to dislike about this B&B.

Review 51:Very accomodating, welcoming and cheerful. Room and breakfast great, ample parking and checkin/out hassle free, highly recommend.

Review 52:Ground floor at front and overlooked from road. No signage and near another property of same name. Phone call required on arrival to gain entry.

Review 53:Location

Review 54:A little tricky parking the car at the front of this property at present.... though hopefully this should change soon... once adjacent building works are complete.

Review 55:....afforded to us on our arrival at The Hathaways by Diana at the start of our over night stay. Spotlessly clean accommodation. Good "full" english breakfast set us up for the day exploring Stratford on Avon

Review 56:PARKING COULD BE AN ISSUE BEST TO CHECK WITH OTEA AND COFFEE AVAILABLE IN KITCHEN ANYTIME BUT NO KETTLE IN ROOM

Review 57:OWNERS FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL ,BREAKFAST V.GOOD,VERY CLEAN AND COMFORTABLE.

Review 58:There was absolutely nothing to dislike about tis B&B

Review 59:Everything was more than adequate which made our stay (of 3 nights) very pleasure able indeed.

Review 60:No reception at The Hathaways, had to call on arrival (did not have a phone on me), or walk to reception at another guest house (got lost on the way there, but was redirected by a kind neighbour).

Review 61:The owners were extremely kind and helpful.

Review 62:Wonderful people who went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Offered us the breakfast option even though we hadn't included it with our booking. Bill gave us a map and recommended the most scenic route for our next location. We were also grateful to be able to leave our car while we visited the Shakespeare attractions most of which are within walking distance of The Hathaways.

Review 63:Could do with more plug sockets and near the mirror - not a major issue just a 'nice to have'

Review 64:Warm and friendly welcome, lovely and comfortable room, free wi-fi, help yourself to tea / coffee, good quality and tasty breakfast, overall a great stay

Review 65:This B & B is unmanned apart from breakfast and during cleaning cycle and so you have to phone ahead to make sure someone is there to let you in initially. Entrance hallway not very inviting but rooms were good. No tea making facilities in rooms but could go down to kitchen if hot drinks required (not ideal though if you fancy a cuppa early in the morning and don't want to get dressed to go down and fetch one!). Have to juggle with parking on the front.

Review 66:Comfortable beds, bathroom was a very generous size and nicely fitted out. Room was clean and airy.. Breakfast was very good and the staff who we saw were lovely. Position very handy for town centre. Generally, would recommend

Review 67:There was nothing not to like.

Review 68:The Owners were very nice, and I was given a key to come and go as I pleased, and was welcome to help myself to tea and coffee and biscuits whenever I wished. My room was spacious and light and bed was comfortable. The house was within walking distance of the township which was very convenient..

Review 69:Excellent location 5 mins from centre, lovely breakfast, clean and tidy, staff very friendly, couldn't ask for more. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 70:Nothing

Review 71:When we went to our car the next morning we had a flat battery we rang them up and they came round straightaway and gave us a jump start what more could you ask for

Review 72:No staff around-not even around in the morning to pay so delayed our morning as we had to go and find them at their other b&bs. Only 3 parking spaces, used also by owners.Asked to reserve a space but when we got there none available.Nearby street parking very restricted. No breakfast option offered. Very noisy shower, little power.

Review 73:Well equipped kitchen stocked with milk, tea, coffee Etc. Access to patio from ground floor family room perfect for young children to explore. wifi easy to access and quick. 5/10 min walk to town. Clean.

Review 74:We could not stay longer :(

Review 75:We felt so at home while staying there. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is in easy walking distance of the town and houses. A very relaxing stay thank you :)

Review 76:Twin beds were ok but creaked quite a bit

Review 77:Easy walk into town one way for theatre and restaurant but also to Anne Hathaway's cottage the opposite way. Quiet, peaceful and a good breakfast, what more could you need?

Review 78:The hosts are not permanently available, since they are running also another guesthouse in town. The room was very nice, but next to a street, it was actually quite loud during the night. The breakfast was less than average, loads of tin food, even the tomatoes came from a tin. When we wanted to leave, we found our car blocked in the car park and had to run around for half an hour to find the hosts. The lady who had parked behind us was obviously their cleaner, and she didn't bother to come up with an apologize!

Review 79:We really liked our room, it was nice, clean and spacious.

Review 80:Nothing other than the WiFi connection being very weak.

Review 81:We very much liked the use of the kitchen - made it seem like a home from home. Our reception was very friendly and welcoming as, indeed, was our whole stay. Our room was comfortable with a lovely bathroom.

Review 82:Single bed rather small Duvets too heavy for warm weather. We only needed a sheet as cover but in slightly cooler weather a blanket alternative would be a good idea.

Review 83:Friendly and efficient staff Breakfast excellent Very clean and well maintained Can walk into town

Review 84:The hosts, the convenient location, the cleanliness of the place. Can be improved by replacing the noisy fan with more modern ones and providing some insect repellant because you don't expect to need it in Stratford.

Review 85:There was nothing we didn't like.

Review 86:We weren't a group of friends but it was all I could select. My daughter and myself stayed in this guest house. Our room was serviced everyday and the general standard was really good. Friendly staff; lovely room and kitchen facilities. This all added up to an excellent guest house. Would definately recommend to others.

Review 87:not very festive compared to other places in town

Review 88:the owners
