Reviews for Adonis City Hotel

Review 1:Lack of hot water to take a shower in the morning. A bit oldish but I think it is being renovated these days.

Review 2:Perfect location. Absolutely in the center of the city, near to everything.

Review 3:Our room was very simple but hotel is renovating and the CHARMING owner/lady was very accommodating and I hope for her that the works will finish soon. Thank you.

Review 4:Very good hotel in center of town - next to the busstation. Our room was recently renovated and very nice. The staf was so kind and helpful. And the city is worth a visit.

Review 5:Needs some fixing, although for the price you pay it's more than enough. Breakfast not worth, but enough, practical if you want to eat something before leaving the hotel.

Review 6:Good value for what you pay, it's clean, peaceful, good wifi and good air conditioning.

Review 7:Great location, modern renovations and all the amenities (mini-fridge, 24-hr front desk, cafe, a/c). All the staff were very helpful and courteous.

Review 8:Breakfast is fast food. Normal one.Not great, nor good.

Review 9:Good harbor view. Room balcony faces to west.So you can't see a sunset but rather good at that time.

Review 10:No one could tell me where there was a laundry, and it cost a small fortune to get my clothes laundered through the hotel....which were returned wet!

Review 11:Happy to have had a quiet room. The park across the street is beautiful, and very peaceful.

Review 12:Super location for bus and train, port also. Great budget room. No frills. But clean, super comfy bed. Very friendly and welcoming staff. Great for posh-packing (one up from back-packing!) Highly recommend for budget travellers looking for a city central hotel that's clean and comfortable

Review 13:The room wasn't like the pictures at all. It wasn't clean, very old, the beds were tearing apart and no one came to clean the room.

Review 14:The only good thing about the hotel was the location which was next to the KTEL station and very close to the shopping centers.

Review 15:Although the building was under construction and being renovated, the staff was superb and the room was very clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

Review 16:May be cleaning could be a bit better ;)

Review 17:View from balcony was incredible. We stayed at the top level and it was really nice. Staff is so helpful and friendly. Location is perfect for evening walking around the port.

Review 18:Pillows too big and heavy - need a choice of pilows.

Review 19:We had a beautiful renovated room, decorated in a modern style. We were welcomed cheerfully. The bus station is adjacent - about 50 Meters walk. Tea and cofee facilities in room. Breakfast buffet.. We like Patra as a city.

Review 20:I didn't really like the bed and the pillow. It was a little bit uncomfortable. Also, breakfast wasn't that nice.

Review 21:The view from our room was amazing! Staff was really helpful and kind

Review 22:Everything was so dirty, there were holes on the doors and the walls and wires were visible through the walls.. We couldnt have a shower and we slept above the sheets covered with our coats... We booked for two days but after our first night there we left..

Review 23:Location and free wifi

Review 24:The breakfast (which costs extra) was quite cold and not very good. The room was chilly even with the heaters on. The hotel is quite run down for the price you pay.

Review 25:Very close to the bus station and downtown Patras.

Review 26:Hotel is easily accessible for the shops, bus station which is located right next door, and not far from the university hospital if required. The hotel offers a wide variety for breakfast, hot water at the turn of the tap, and very friendly staff.

Review 27:This hotel was not my first choice but due to circumstances my preferred hotels were fully booked (booked the night before travelled) The general standard of the hotel room was very very poor, Bathroom was a joke, items such as toilet roll holder and bathroom shelf were missing but evidence of them being there before hand was clear. Parts of the shower did not work, items falling off, Bathroom door, general paintwork and door frame missing. Bedroom had lights broken and not replaced, Mattress was too hard and bedding / Towels had seen better days (i think) When i discussed this with the Owner she was totally disinterested. Whilst its clear that Greece is in some financial difficulty this hotel severely needs to re invest in replacing broken, missing items and increasing its general level of cosmetics. Embarrassed to have stayed here.

Review 28:The location of the hotel is good for the city center of Patras, especially if you do not intend to use a car.

Review 29:Travelling 2 see an old friend this hotel was just what i need it. The hotel is near everywhere in Patras, The stuff is really kind.and u can ask for anything. The view is unexpected from the upper rooms, really clean, value for money 10.

Review 30:3 wifi lines and none worked. So frustrating, my AC smelled like smoke. But the location couldn't be any better, so that's why you stay her twice getting to Athens

Review 31:The location in a confusing city makes it easy to sleep before getting to Athens by bus!

Review 32:2 night stop over. Room was clean...a little cramped for 2 people. Wifi was up and down. Bed comfortable but pillow not so good. The shower had no screen and the bathroom was always wet. I also did not enjoy the breakfast...stomach cramps after eating the yogurt...it had a foul taste. Apart from that it was ok for 2 nights and cheap. Ktel bus stop was across the road however it was a bit noisy early in the morning. Cafes etc were within walking distance.

Review 33:the cleanliness was very poor. in the morning there was no water, the lady at reception convinced is that it is due to some works on the street, although we were not warned in advance.

Review 34:the terrace in our room on top floor was perfect

Review 35:The location in a shabby part of Patra.

Review 36:Customer service was fantastic. Although there was a balcony, the view of port was only of ferries leaving Patra, therefore not a nice view.

Review 37:Location spoiled iit nothing aroiund only the hotel dining diabollical many things off the menu waitrd15 for a waiter to appear i stayed 3 days as it was pre paid hobsons choice only good for transit

Review 38:I found worms and gnats in the bathroom. Worms came from the bottom of the shower and since this one was completely broken, water overflowed out of the base of the shower. The pipe of the shower was completely musty. I claimed for another room and I soon got it, but with no significant changes, the shower was musty as well. The breakfast room was not so clean. I found dirty sugar bowls and finally I took only a coffee because all the other foods were absolutely not acceptable.

Review 39:This hotel is in front of the bus station and really close to the Patras Port.

Review 40:Door to the bathroom was clearly too big for the frame making it hard to open&close. Of 3 shower heads only one worked.

Review 41:Great beds. Good wifi. Friendly receptionist at check in. Great location.

Review 42:None

Review 43:Very friendly staff. Convenient location. Clean and cozy rooms.

Review 44:Superior room is excellent

Review 45:Large room. Cheerful receptionist.

Review 46:Very old building, badly maintained. Very small bathroom.

Review 47:Friendly staff. Close to Centre, Shops, Transport.

Review 48:Some renovation would make a 10/10.

Review 49:The best value for money , right in the center of the town

Review 50:This hotel needs a lot of renovation to become a proper business again.

Review 51:Location

Review 52:nothing in the room advising on places to see etc. No notes regarding Patra.

Review 53:so very convient for places to go and very near the heart of the city

Review 54:Place has a few maintenance issues but people were cheerful.

Review 55:Good position & balcony with view.

Review 56:noice of other rooms, not clean, dirty and old rooms. For breakfast need to pay more.

Review 57:Friendly staff, very helpful.

Review 58:Very friendly and helpful staff.

Review 59:A bit expensive

Review 60:Great Location

Review 61:Muldy bathroom, shower problematic

Review 62:Staff were friendly

Review 63:Location, clean room, good wifi. The receptionist on the 3pm to 11pm shift was extremely helpful and spoke very good english.

Review 64:Customer service was amazing!

Review 65:The view was fantastic!!!!

Review 66:Perfect location! just 50 meters to bus station, and pretty close to city center.

Review 67:Small room, needed refurbishing. Ice cold scrambled eggs offered at breakfast. The bain marie was not even switched on...

Review 68:Close to bus and town centre

Review 69:The breakfast could be a little better.Maybe fresher fruit.

Review 70:This hotel is great if you are catching a ferry ,the location is perfect. It took about 8 minutes to walk from the bus station to hotel . Our room was comfortable and clean ,plus comfortable bed.the area may look very busy but at night it was quiet.

Review 71:the ballast trade on the balcony wasn't safe, I would have worried if I'd had small children.

Review 72:We had a 6th floor room, big balcony, magnificent view over the harbour. Breakfast was filling. Big room.

Review 73:Needs a full makeover. Location is great for Carnival weekend. We did not have much of an option as to where to stay as everything was booked solid. Adonis hotel had a room for us, the staff were very pleasant but the facility itself was only fair, not terrible though. If you 'really' need certain comforts like good size bathroom, carpet on floors, good breakfast food etc then this hotel is not for you.

Review 74:Staff were excellent. Beds were clean. Location was close to the action for Carnival but not too loud. Bus terminal right in front of hotel so there is no need for taxis.

Review 75:Very noisy, could use double glazing windows instead of Massage Shower Panel. Some other things that make no sense include the plentiful posh looking storing units in the 2 sqm bathroom which had no towel hangers, nor toilet paper holder either! Huge desk in the room prevented you from accessing the balcony door without moving the bed! Also wall fixed nights stands made second bed uncomfortable since they were really close to head!

Review 76:Price, Proximity to the center

Review 77:Staff as a whole was satisfactory, but individually, not the room wassmall, and also the bathroom, linen and towels changed my fourth day andwhen I asked for a total of five nights, breakfast was so and so,generally not lived up to my expectations as a three-star hotel.

Review 78:Located in the centre of city, only!!! Nothing else

Review 79:There was no plug for the bath, so I could not take a bath - had to shower. Breakfast not great. scrambled eggs were very cold.

Review 80:Very friendly and helpful staff at reception. Nice sea view over harbour. Second time we used this hotel and will do so in future again.

Review 81:not much free parking space around the hotel. the driving in Patra is a little bit difficult because of all the one way streets, and the is a lot of traffic in the morning.

Review 82:the staff were amazing. they helped us with everything we needed. the hotel is very close to the city center were you can find lots of places to eat or for shopping.

Review 83:This is an ideal hotel for people looking for a cost effective one or two night stopover. The staff are very friendly and courteous and nothing is too much trouble. It is well situated for the ferry port, bus/urban train station and shopping centre.

Review 84:This time round had to go back down to lobby once arrived to get air con switched on so would work, room not as tidy many signs of old premises, the bathroom was dirty mainly the shower which barely worked. Don't know what happened since the last day maybe depends on the room after this experience wouldn't return.

Review 85:Second stay here, location to bus terminal as before is good.

Review 86:Nothing

Review 87:Proximity to ferry and bus terminals made our arrival and onward travel so easy. Our room had a perfect view of the sea and distant mountains. Breakfast was very good: cereals a hot choice, various breads, fresh fruit, yoghurt, meats and cheeses

Review 88:Very good location for this money, so near to the center of the city and the port. You can find very nice staff and our suggest to use this hotel for the for rest before ferry to Zakynthos!

Review 89:The plentiful breakfast buffet made the economical value even better! Staff were lovely and very helpful. Very convenient location close to bus station and ports.

Review 90:horrible room. way far from the internet fotos. horrible (dangerous?) breakfast. building ready to colapse (we got lucky to stay just one night). what can I say? should never exist as a hotel.

Review 91:the stuff was more than friedly. just that.

Review 92:Their description mentioned that they had parking, but they only had very few parking spaces in front of the hotel, and we had to spend 8 Euros more for outside parking.

Review 93:Although breakfast presented a variety of things, some of them were not quite fresh.

Review 94:The staff were very friendly and always at our service (especially Nikos). We had a fast internet connection in our room, which was very useful! The room was very clean and comfortable and so was the bathroom. I thank them for offering me a parking place right outside the hotel!

Review 95:? I cannot think of anything.

Review 96:service delivery.staff engageing, accomadating and understanding. the food was very acceptable, fresh and well presented. the accomadation was clean and tidy. the location was fantastic for transport, eateries cafes restaruants and easy access to all my needs.

Review 97:the bathroom was a bit tired; small, with only a handheld shower with moderate water pressure. In fairness, the reception person gave us a choice between a beautiful balcony & a better bathroom in a first-floor room - I think we made the right choice.

Review 98:Location was superb - 1 minute walk from the bus station & less than 5 to the train station (which runs a shuttle to the actual train for Athens). Beautiful views from the huge balcony of our room on the 6th floor. Good & generous buffet breakfast. Staff was very friendly & helpful, & spoke good English. The TV even tuned in to English programmes! My husband was particularly impressed with the electric boot polisher in the lobby :-)

Review 99:This newly refurbished hotel is located just next to the bus station in Patras. It's the perfect location if you are on arriving or leaving by bus. It has a beautiful view of the Gulf of Patras, is clean, quiet and it's just 5 minutes walk from the city centre.

Review 100:didnt like the breakfast. it might of been because we got to breakfast at 9am but there was cold eggs, and sasuage, stale bread, juice was ok, but it tasted like codial. apart from the breakfast it was all really good.

Review 101:Good location. cheap price, helped us when the tv wasnt working.

Review 102:Very close to the bus station - a lot "strenge" people in the night - wehaven´t any bad experiences but just for the feeling...

Review 103:Family and very friendly atmosphere, good breakfast, very friendly andkind staff, good location close to the centre of the city, nice view tothe sea - they are not beaches for swim in the nearby, anyway you cansee and "smell" the sea :); very close to the - 50 m - to the busstation, where are going busses from / to Athens; taxi station in frontof the hotel.

Review 104:A clean tidy efficiently run friendly hotel near bus station, port and train. Excellent location for catching Patras airport shuttle bus for Ryanair flights. Ensuite bathroom, balcony, sea view and TV included at a reasonable price for a solo traveller.

Review 105:breakfast was very poor and terrible bathroom was terrible and not clean (pieces of ceiling were missing and poor plumbing) hard matresses balcony looked dangerous as it was rusted all the way furniture was damaged room didn't seem very clear

Review 106:Great location, just next to bus, train en ferries!

Review 107:Once again we received a very warm welcome, accommodating staff, very clean beds and bedroom/shower, good buffet breakfast - what more could you ask for.

Review 108:For the price this hotel is excellent value. It is clean, central and friendly - and a good breakfast is thrown in as well. As a seasoned traveller i would highly recommend it.

Review 109:I didn't like the structure of the hotel, it looks like is old and thebreakfast is not so good...

Review 110:I liked the localization, because it was very close of the bus stationand not so far from the new port.

Review 111:Cleanliness, poor plumbing, poor breakfast, general condition of rooms (we occupied 2, they were both poor)

Review 112:Very conveniently located at the heart of Patras within a few steps from port and bus terminal.

Review 113:The staff were always friendly and helpful, the position of the hotelwas very strategic as it's just over the road from the bus station, andbreakfast was ample.

Review 114:You will always receive a warm and friendly welcome at Hotel Adonis. Having stayed there overnight once a fortnight over the summer we have been impressed with the level of service from all the staff. The rooms and bedding are very clean and there is a substantial buffet breakfast served between 7a.m and 10.am. All in all a very comfortable hotel ideally situated by the ferry port, bus station and shops.

Review 115:Refrigerator didn't work. Poor internet or no connection in day time. Really narrow room. 2 stars hotel can be better.

Review 116:Near the bus station. View to the sea from the balcony.

Review 117:Hotel Adonis offers good rooms at a very good price. All receptionists were very nice to us and always ready to help and with a smile. The location of the hotel is great, close to everything, which means you do not need to spend money on taxis.

Review 118:Breakfast was average at best, but since it was included in the (already quite low) room price we didn't have that high expectations anyway.

Review 119:The staff were very friendly and helpful, and made me feel very welcome and accommodated for. The room was clean and the view from the (huge) balcony was great. Most of all, the price for all this was very cheap - easily the cheapest hotel in that area of Patras. So if you're looking for a cheap, good hotel then stay with confidence at Adonis!

Review 120:The shower was abit too soft.

Review 121:Perfect location to the port and conveniently located across the road from the bus station. Big balcony overlooking the sea and had really fast Wifi on all floors. Great for a stop over if you need a place to crash for a night or two.
