Review 1：- only few buses going from Hallstatt to Obertraun - cleaning fee / city tax seems a little bit much

Review 3：Without a car it was diifficult to get to Hallstatt and other attractions. There were buses and boats but they only ran once an hour and stopped around 6 pm so you had to plan fir the whole day and really made it difficult to go back to room to change clothes or drop off a backpack or camera.

But the rooms in general were shabby and in a very bad shape - definitivly not what we expected for 160 euros per night.

Review 26：Superb location; the apartment situated close to train station and just less than 1 min walk to the famous lake where you will relax there for probably most of your time. The room is considerably clean and tidy. Staffs are helpful, easy to communicate with simple English so there's no language barrier problem. Overall a pleasant experience staying at this apartment during our 5 days stay in this extraordinary beautiful place.
Review 27：The rooms were very noisy. Even with earplugs it felt like our neightbors were in our room. The beds were very hard, neither of us slept very well and we both had a sore back in the morning. The shower was broken. Wifi was unstable. The price on booking is without cleaning costs (5 euro pp). Alltogether with breakfast (10 euro pp) the price was way to high for this room!

Review 29：In off-season there is really not a lot to do in Obertraun and as such, the accommodation becomes more important. We found the apartments to be fair, but in comparison to other accommodation we had during our trip, lacking in atmosphere and quite expensive for what you receive. The hotel feels slightly shabby and run-down and is really just a clean bed at the end.

Review 34：Right across Obertraun Dachsteinhöhlen Train station and quiet location. To visit Hallstatt you can either take a direct ferry from behing the hotel to Hallstatt Or take a train to Hallstatt station and then a ferry across the lake. Kitchen was a plus for us.
Review 35：It is the first time we heard bed cleaning fee. They charge us 15 euros for staying one night by giving the reason that they have to clean the beddings. It did not show on their main page on booking.com though. Honestly it showed in the confimation page which is quite easily to overlook. We felt unpleasant on this.

Review 51：Quiet stay in Obertraun, not far from the beautiful Hallstatt. Apartment is a short walk from Obertraun train station. Bus that goes into Hallstatt is a shorter walk away from the apartment. With a supermarket nearby, we bought our ingredients to have a decent meal at home. Friendly staff who let us borrow some spices from their kitchen! :) Clean apartment.
Review 52：On our first morning there was no hot water for the shower. Staff told us we needed to run it for 10 minutes for it to "cycle" and become hot. It never did and two of us had to take a cold shower (on a rainy day). We later found out that the heater had turned off, unbeknownst to the staff, and it was immediately fixed. Also, the continental breakfast which cost an extra 9 euros/person had very few choices and on one day the fresh fruit appeared old with wrinkled skin. It was not good and we opted out on day 2.

No nice view from our bedroom but you can walk in a few minutes for breathtaking view. We stayed in two bedroom which located on the top floor. No Lift in the apartment (as they told us before)

Review 84：The location is very convenient close to Obertraun Railway station. Personally I believe it is much better to stay on this side of lake rather than tourist crowded Hallstatt. The staff was very helpful and in fact the 2 young ladies helped us with our luggage all the way up to third floor.

Review 93：Stairs to take luggage up. Two balconies, but view was of roofs and houses. Close to rail line and railway crossing, but since electric train (not diesel), not too noisy, and the bells on the crossing are very quiet compared with those in Australia or North America. We had an apartment with a corner kitchen, which was more cramped than one with a kitchen in a straight line. GPS got us lost, so had to walk a little way to locate the apartments, which do, however, have excellent outdoor signage. Establishment a little tired.

The lake wasnt visible much from my Apt but the town, train and mountains were much more interesting in my opinion. The breakfast was good and hardy but nothing too fancy. Review 103：We asked for a lake view, but there is no lake view from any room because the hotel is surrounded by other properties. The satff was not very helpful in explaining how to get to Hallstatt. Breakfast is 9 euro/person, too expensive. WIFI almost unusable. Be warned: after 5pm everything is closed in Obertraun, no busses, boats or shops! Only one restaurant 25 minutes walking.

After we talked to the staff there, they brought us a stove and a pot.... 2.The transportation to hallsttat is not very frequent. There is bus every 1 hour going between obertraun and hallsttat, and ship every 2 hour,. they are both not available after 19.00

Review 108：We booked a lake view room, but it is really not much of a view. The unit is next to the railway track (so is every other nearby hotel and residences), there are the sound of train passing by from time to time. Good thing is the train is not frequent, may be once in a few hours.
Review 109：The breakfast area is fantastic, so is the owners, who is a couple with a new born baby (2014). We also like the walk from Obertraun to Hallstatt, nice view of the lake, with at least two parks on the way, a fantastic place for picnic. (The walk did take a while)

They were more than happy to answer all our questions and more! Room was spacious and kitchen was adequate. Perfect for small easy meals, nothing to elaborate. Great views of the mountains from our balcony and a 2 min walk to the ferry that takes you to Hallstatt. Restaurant next door (Kegelbahnen) has great pizza and we were able to get a bottle of wine carry out with our dinner as it was on the weekend and the grocery store was closed. Excellent french-press or made-to-order coffee brought to your table at breakfast. All in all I would recommend staying at the Seerose and would book again when returning to Obertraun.
