Reviews for Beaulieu Hotel

Review 1:Would prefer to have known ahead of time that you need to eat next door in pub if there is an evening wedding party in the hotel.

Review 2:Location in New Forest. Good to have a train station so close. Cosy fires in bar. Staff very flexible and helpful with the 3 babies and also grouped our rooms together on request.

Review 3:I was poisioned by their beer and had £360 taken from my account without communication or agreement. ZERO customer care from management. Health and Safety should be involved.

Review 4:The location

Review 5:Bath was small bathroom door didn't shut floor creaked every time you moved light from outside shone through gaps in door.

Review 6:Friendly staff, rooms clean and tidy.

Review 7:The pillows were very flat and could do with replacing

Review 8:Room was spacious and comfortable Staff were friendly and helpful The location was fantastic for waling or cycling

Review 9:Great staff, friendly and helpful. A friend and I enjoyed an excellent dinner. Rooms in the annexe are large, well equipped and spotless. Easy access to the New Forest which surrounds the hotel.

Review 10:Perfect location in New forest. Staff were helpful and friendly, didn't moan that my toddler was into everything. Room was lovely, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and reasonably priced.

Review 11:No direct access to forest for mobility scooters due to cattle grids have to drive car across road to put scooter together then do reverse on return

Review 12:It was nice to see fruit and water on arrival a lot of places have stopped this. You need disabled access for mobility scooters by your cattle grids

Review 13:None

Review 14:We were attending a funeral in the local area. The comfort, helpful staff and peace of the hotel helped to create a tranquil setting helping us to relax after a very sad day

Review 15:Squeaky bed, carpark needs resurfacing it was muddy and full of puddles.

Review 16:Wonderful location, great staff, top breakfast, very dog-friendly and next door to a great pub!

Review 17:We booked three rooms, all were in need of redecoration. Stains on the walls in all rooms. Because we had a young child we were separated out and were expected to sit in another dining room, we didn't eat in the hotel.

Review 18:The location is great The staff were friendly

Review 19:I found the mattress very firm and the room hot so the window had to be open where you can hear the noisy trains. But that's the only flaws.

Review 20:The staff were excellent and went above and beyond their duty to help me! The lady on breakfast shift Wednesday 11th Nov was especially helpfull and attentive to me! It is very rare to come across staff like her in the hospitality industry! A real gem!

Review 21:Dining room full on first day so were advised to eat at pub next door (also owned by the hotel). This was not an enjoyable experience - dining area and food very disappointing. Breakfast in hotel dining room was good but would not recommend the evening meal. Problem is the nearest town is approx 7 miles away.

Review 22:Stayed in new extension which was excellent though got wet getting to Reception, dining room etc. Staff throughout were excellent.

Review 23:On last morning we were shoved in the "family" breakfast room which had no natural light the normal dining room was much nicer and had plenty of room.

Review 24:Mostly very friendly staff and excellent food

Review 25:The bed in room 23 was like a jelly. When we arrived the lights were out in three bulbs. The play equipment was broken in garden, toilet seat in pub was broken too. Fences broken around play area some held up by string.

Review 26:Staff were helpful and friendly

Review 27:breakfast was cold(served on cold plates) and we did not like the chewy sausages. we didn't bother with breakfast the next day.

Review 28:happy friendly staff made us welcome.

Review 29:The pool was ok but needs a bit of renewal. There is a pub next door - the Herd Inn which had good beer but no atmosphere.

Review 30:Location - right next to the station with great walks from the front door. Friendly & helpful staff.

Review 31:Ideally located for exploring the New Forest, The Beaulieu Hotel offers comfortable, flexible accommodation, good breakfast, clean and tidy rooms and very well mannered staff.

Review 32:Noisy, very creaky floorboards. Dirty bath, tired and shabby decor. Far too much money for the facilities. Breakfast buffet fruit was dried up and unappetising, cooked breakfast was very ordinary not local produce as the name suggested. I am very disappointed

Review 33:Staff were friendly

Review 34:Our room was above the the drift inn and the train station. Water was off putting as was slightly coloured due to high iron not happy giving to our daughter to drink

Review 35:Lovely helpful staff great location to see Beaulieu

Review 36:Stayed in the extension which looks as though it's been redone recently, very clean, incredibly comfortable With lots of space. The staff were lovely and very efficient.

Review 37:Hotel is getting rather tired and shabby. Staff very friendly but not well trained/skilled. Expensive for standard of accommodation. Breakfast not nearly same quality as evening meal. Terrible restaurant music selection morning and evening.

Review 38:Beautiful location. Evening meal was very good

Review 39:No water both mornings...(one morning mid shower)...Howling dog for hours on Saturday Night. Refused meal in restaurant although many spaces!

Review 40:The bed was comfortable.

Review 41:The noise from the trains and the Wedding Disco kept us awake unless we shut the windows and then it was rather stuffy. Being on the ground floor, we felt we needed to keep blinds drawn to prevent passers by looking in.

Review 42:Lovely big room very recently built and furnished and very tastefully decorated. Lovely powerful shower and big bathroom with nice fluffy bathrobes.

Review 43:They seemed to have a problem with the flushing of the toilet in the new wing. Was reported but nothing done, I guess it was teething problems as it's a new build

Review 44:Excellent location, friendly staff and excellent room service, very impressive establishment with great facilities. Highly recommend

Review 45:Didn't like the colour of the bath water. They said it was brown due to the iron content in the water, because of their location, they get their water from a well 40feet below ground. If you have a shower you probably wouldn't notice it but having water in a bath it is definitely noticeable and off putting. When we queried it the staff said it was unusual to be so dark and would look into it. After suggesting to run the water for quite some time to see if it would clear (which we had done anyway) they said if we were still unhappy they would move us to a sister hotel. We didn't move but ran the water quite a lot before getting into it, it was still a bit brown. What a waste of water!

Review 46:We had a query on the bill when checking out. Which was a Booking.com mistake. The staff were very patient with trying to sort it out, as it took longer than it should have done but it was resolved in the end.

Review 47:Nothing bad to report at all.

Review 48:Could not be happier. Firstly the hotel was delightful and so clean and fresh more than enough staff to help and complete there work, you feel like there are hundreds of them just there to help you out. But what stood out for me the most was the friendly staff and so very professional and correct, they simply know how to do their job to the letter. A excellent stay I would 100% stay there again.

Review 49:My room was directly above the reception area and some ignorant guests thought it was ok to shout at the top of their voices until late. Also other guests deemed it normal to stop outside others rooms and talk very loudly in the early hors as well as banging doors. To be honest this spoilt the whole visit as the hotel is in such a peaceful location.

Review 50:The room and location were lovely. Elaine on reception was more than helpful even asking other inconsiderate guests to keep the noise down.

Review 51:We had nice weather but if it had been raining we would have got wet moving between the hotel and our room. Some complementary umbrellas to use would have been a nice touch. Although a very peaceful location, there is a railway line close by. On the day we checked in, a few hours after arrival, about error was made and our room was reallocated to another guest which led to us being walked in on. The best we got in the way of an apology was 'sorry, that wasn't very good, we had a mix up with clean linen'!

Review 52:Fantastic location in the middle of the New Forest away from hustle and bustle of a town. Room was in a newly built annex behind a pub belonging to the hotel. Room decorated beautifully, was comfortable and very clean.

Review 53:Like so many hotels these days breakfast is served far too late, so for the early starter it is often unavailable before one has to leave for work.

Review 54:Very pleasant staff, Clean & comfortable accommodation.

Review 55:i dont even know where to begin. 1. worst value for money ever 2. the room decor is dated, everything is dirty, the room was not even cleaned through our stay 3. check-out took 50 minutes as there was not enough staff at the reception 4. breakfast is mediocre at best + long wait 5. it smells everywhere of old carpets and uncleaned cloths

Review 56:location is convenient for exploring the new forest

Review 57:It was over priced for what it was (£150 / night), and the breakfast wasnt the best and not included in the price (a further £8 / pp)

Review 58:Location was great, my room was lovely with fantastic view (room 1)although my sister's room was hot, cramped and not very nice view (room 11)

Review 59:when we arrived we could not park in the hotel car park despite being told that there was plenty of parking. to be fair there was a wedding going on, but they knew that and they knew there were other guests needing parking.

Review 60:The bathroom wasnt very clean, the restaurant food was only mediocre at best and the wifi was incredibly slow and poor.

Review 61:Staff were very friendly and the room was adequate size for just us. Couldn't fault the location whatsoever.

Review 62:Been given a dog room when I requested a non dog room well in advance via booking.com. I asked for medium rare steak and it was served well done.

Review 63:The location was great,

Review 64:Excellent Friendly Service. Interesting and good value menu Amazing Location, ate breakfast and watched the ponies coming out of the woods to graze.

Review 65:Everything was fine

Review 66:Comfortable spacious bedroom, excellent breakfasts and helpful staff. The views over the open country were wonderful, Beaulieu Motor Museum and Buckler's Hard are just a few miles down the road

Review 67:It was a lovely hotel in good surroundings. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food and facilities were good and I really enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend this hotel and would stay there again if I am in that area again.

Review 68:Not too keen on the bed being so high. Creaking floorboards a MAJOR problem, although staff very accommodating in our case and kept room above us vacant for duration of our stay

Review 69:Nice clean room. Very helpful staff. Superb location, especially if you have dog with you. Easy, plentiful parking

Review 70:The front door got stuck. I couldnt get in at 10.50pm. The phone number by the door ddnt work. Was just a message. No one was around to let me in.

Review 71:I liked the pool and steam room. I couldnt fault the room.

Review 72:Pitch black in car park - perhaps some limited directional LED lights are in order. Bulbs not working in existing outside lights. A simple fix. The hotel-owned pub next door is being refurbished and is closed (Jan 2015). This is not being mentioned during any booking. This reduced meal and drink options to those provided by the hotel at considerable cost.

Review 73:Rooms were lovely A very relaxing atmosphere

Review 74:Room was very small and stuffy; shabby and insufficient furniture. Floors creaked badly. Bathroom dated, shower curtain stuck to you while showering. Staff in dining room unwelcoming and unhelpful. These conditions have severely affected our ability to rest and relax.

Review 75:Reception staff were polite and did their best.

Review 76:booming music came on at 7 am had to ask them to turn it off. There was some confusion over the booking but this was sorted after some tears!

Review 77:Beautiful location, kind staff goodfacilities pub next door cosy and Christmassy.

Review 78:Couldn't get breakfast early enough to get to work. WiFi was definitely not high speed and struggled with the mobile phone signal.

Review 79:Nice staff and comfortable room. Great selection of tea n coffee in room. Would be nicer for a weekend break than for business travel.

Review 80:Arrived at night, directions to car park and confusing with pub next door.

Review 81:Excellent welcome. Good room facilities. wonderful location. Would definitely return to this hotel,

Review 82:Decor is little tired but still clean and homely, some would hate green theme

Review 83:Bed was so comfy staff were polite and friendly Price reasonable waking to a view over New forest spot on

Review 84:Wi-fi speed is terrible Breakfast is served too late (from 7.30 but then you have to order what you want which can take up to 20 mins)

Review 85:Location is beautiful There's a nice inn next to it

Review 86:WiFi signal poor - could do with improving.

Review 87:Friendly staff - very helpful; very peaceful location with amazing views. Probably the nicest breakfast I have had in years!!

Review 88:No WIFI (working on it !) used the phone, very dirty in mouthpiece and cradle Trains (but the tracks have to go somewhere!)

Review 89:Large rooms Clean Excellent Food Great Location

Review 90:Bedrooms getting a little dated but clean and comfortable

Review 91:Beautiful New forest setting. Good breakfast. Small pool with steam room. Great value Friendly staff Wifi

Review 92:the only thing was for me the bed's were to soft but lucky in our twin room was fold up bunk bed's and the were harder so i slept on them, this is only a dislike in my part as i have a bad back.

Review 93:just come back from a three day break and it was fantastic, staff nothing was to much trouble, the food was wonderful, and the hotel is in the most wonderful location.

Review 94:Next to railway line, so noise from trains starts at 6am. Few basic facilities, staff unhelpful when we wanted a light snack at 1130am. You didn't get the feeling that anyone really wanted to be there - staff or guests

Review 95:Setting is OK as long as you just want a room in the middle of the New Forest. Breakfast is good value.

Review 96:Fabulous peaceful location on the vast open heathland. Ponies, donkeys and cattle on the doorstep (literally). Friendly staff. Lovely room with comfy beds. Mum and I stayed for three nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Wish we could have stayed longer! Didn't eat in hotel but had a few tasty meals at the Drift Inn next door. Would definitely stay again if visiting the New Forest.

Review 97:The trains so close to my room

Review 98:everything, the rooms, location, the staff, the feeling of being spoilt, the food and the service. I'll return regularly.

Review 99:Some parts of room a little dated and worn. Breakfast was so slow to arrive on our first day we couldn't risk waiting the other days! Staircase and doorways to top floor awkward to negotiate with big bags/boxes.

Review 100:All staff very friendly and helpful Lovely area and views Great pub next door (owned by hotel) Public areas clean, tidy and nicely furnished.

Review 101:Bathroom could have been cleaner

Review 113:Staff could do better. Waitress in restaurant in the morning was very nice though.
