Review 4:Noise did carry from bedroom upstairs.

Review 8:Comfortable rooms. Helpful, staff. Good location in centre of lyndhurst. Great base for outdoor activities. Restaurant pretty good
Review 9:Streaming (condensation) windows in bedroom, peeling paint and mold to new ceiling in bathroom
Review 10:Room well decorated and very clean. Delightful bathroom. Pleasant staff. Lots of character to the hotel.
Review 11:The worst thing about our two night stay was that it was only two nights.
Review 12:The staff were very welcoming; the bedroom was comfortable and attractive; the breakfast was brilliant; the position is right in the centre of Lyndhurst, yet no traffic noise. The whole experience was fantastic. Thank you, Crown Manor House!
Review 13:Absolutely nothing! Would have liked to have contributed to a gratuities box but could not find one.
Review 14:What a beautiful looking hotel. The staff were exemplary. The food was exquisite. We loved our stay.We will be back. The managers recommendation to visit Bolderwood Deer viewing and walking area was a great hit.
Review 15:Heavy traffic on main road through lyndhurst rather spoils the atmosphere of what would otherwise be a nice country village.
Review 16:Good value hotel in heart of the New Forest. Staff were very helpful in arranging taxi back to station at short notice. Good full English buffet breakfast included in our room price. Some nice historic touches in the decor of the hotel.
Review 17:Rooms too hot (unable to turn down heating and couldn't open windows). Told bar was closed when we came back at 11pm.
Review 18:Quality of hotel decor, from public areas to rooms. Decent shower in bathroom! Good breakfast too.
Review 19:Unfortunately scaffolding was a problem due to redecoration but the staff were very helpful and changed our room location away from painters and scaffolding. Didn't stock Guinness in bar so drank in local pub.
Review 20:The hotel was stunning, everything you would expect from a hotel. Very classy with professional staff.
Review 21:Picture slightly deceptive as the Hotel is on a busy high street but no traffic noise in room
Review 22:Staff pleasant and friendly room was comfortable and luckily didn't have a view of the scaffolding which covers the building. Bathroom very luxurious.
Review 23:Currently under repairs on the outside so detracted from the beauty of the building but did not adversely affect my stay
Review 24:Location, feel of hotel, service
Review 25:Lift is tiny, so don't take too much luggage.
Review 26:Family room layout was excellent with a partition wall between sitting area & bedroom. Large 6 foot bed meant that we both had a great nights sleep, even when our 6months old wanted to join us.
Review 27:Was looking for some peace ! But had a new born baby in the room above , which whailed most of the night! So we had very little sleep, Not impressed
Review 28:Hotel was nice , as was the town etc Would Deffo go there again
Review 29:The smoke alarm went off when I boiled the kettle in my room, but the staff rushed up stairs and reset the alarm before I had a chance to phone them.
Review 30:Great location, lovely suite. Staff were very nice. Facilities were great.
Review 31:The friendliness of the staff who would go out of their way to help and assist. The homely feel of the public spaces The food at the breakfast and the bar and grill was amazing.
Review 32:Our dinner at the Crown was a little disappointing compared to the breakfast and quite expensive for what it was
Review 33:Closeness to the New Forest/amenities The breakfast was amazing
Review 34:Lovely peaceful hotel with very helpful staff. Good location in the village with lots of interesting shops and tea shops in the same road. Gorgeous buffet breakfast with great sausages!!
Review 35:We had breakfast brought to the room but was all on one tray so not easy to eat in bed but that's all.
Review 36:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place was beautiful and very well looked after. A great stay spent.
Review 37:Car park is a little tight if you have a large car.
Review 38:A charming hotel in a great location. Friendly and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable accommodation. Ideally situated for restaurants, bars and coffee/tea shops.
Review 39:The hotel felt warm and welcoming, staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel had wonderful features that represented the age. Room felt elegant and was spotlessly clean.
Review 40:The rooms were very hot even though there was no heating on x and we had scaffolding outside are window , so we didn't feel secure leaving the window open .
Review 41:Loved the decor , the staff were very helpful and friendly , good location
Review 42:Right on a busy main road, misleading on photo, classic double room has very small bed.
Review 43:Easy parking, good staff, nice breakfast room, breakfast ok, comfortable lounge areas, smart hotel.
Review 44:The breakfast wasn't that nice, our room was quite small for the rate we paid and not sound proof at ALL - we had to go down and ask reception to ask the room next door to turn down the TV which was really embarrassing but we could hear every single thing from their TV and their alarm woke us up the next morning! But having said that the staff were lovely about it!
Review 45:It is a great location, the hotel is very nice and comfortable, the service was good.
Review 46:Noisy elderly couple in next room. They fell asleep with the television on full volume most of the night, so on the first night we had no sleep, and were not offered a discount. On check out our bill included £3.40 for a pint of coca cola which we didn't have. There was scaffolding outside our bedroom window with builders walking up and down, so we had to keep the curtains closed for privacy. This was apparently a superior room that we paid an extra £40 to upgrade to. Making the total cost for three nights £397 It was difficult to access the main entrance on foot without crossing a busy road as the scaffolding obstructed access. If out of courtesy we had been offered a discount it would have been nice.
Review 47:Location was good and most of the staff were very pleasant.
Review 48:The room was very small - barely adequate for a single room let alone a double. The shower room was almost as big as the bedroom. No drawer space, no armchair space (no room). Total rip off at average of £150 per night. The lift which they boast is the oldest in Europe needs urgent replacement - on 3 occasions the door wouldn't open on the 3rd floor resulting in my having to climb stairs to the 3rd floor with my leg in plaster!
Review 49:Food & Dining Room Management
Review 50:I found the room and little small but not a problem and would have like a bath but shower was fab. The fan in bathroom was a little loud when switched on.
Review 51:Very friendly staff at reception when arrived giving directions to room ect. Very nice breakfast and lots to choose from.
Review 52:Radiator behind heavy curtain so of no use heating room...having no option to opt out of email program when connecting to wifi.
Review 53:First time i've stayed here for more than 6 years, vastly improved experience. Room was good size and modern bathroom. Rooms do still retains old world character and creaky floors. Bar staff very friendly and welcoming. Fish and Chips good too.
Review 54:Not being told scaffolding was in place at time of our stay and very small high up windows in room.
Review 55:Beautifully clean and lovely staff very welcoming hotel is fabulous and very historic and very well situated in the town.even though they had scaffolding around hotel due to paint works .
Review 56:Very stylish and comfortable hotel in a very pretty area. This is our second visit and we will most certainly be going back.Lovely rooms and very good service.
Review 57:This is our 3rd visit to the Crown Hotel and we find the staff very attentive, friendly and polite. The food in the restaurant is excellent and the entire stay was very enjoyable. We hope to return again soon..!!
Review 58:Would have expected a bigger bedroom and bigger bed for this price.
Review 59:Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely old building . Spotless bathroom. Great breakfast.
Review 60:It was in one way system and had to go round the town to reach via Pike Hill which was a single track road
Review 61:It was in with on walking distance of local restaurants and pubs.
Review 62:Rooms very clean and comfortable.Staff always on hand to assist. General Manager was a mine of information.Best buffet breakfast since recent trip to Sweden.
Review 63:The only thing was that the meals were expensive and too elaborate had to look elsewhere for something suitable
Review 64:we enjoyed our stay very comfortable and very convenient for visiting Beaulieu
Review 65:Bar was a bit pricey
Review 66:Friendly staff who clearly enjoy there work as every member of staff had time to have a chat. Every thing felt clean and tidy , the bathroom was amazing. Food was superb . We will certainly be there next year.
Review 67:The room initially offered was in the eaves making it difficult to walk upright, but upon request a different room was allocated.
Review 68:The sitting rooms were comfortable and cosy with a sense of history.
Review 69:The bathroom was so small you could barely turn around... Not what I expected from a superior room
Review 70:The food and service were excellent.. All of the staff were helpful and friendly, our room was very clean, comfortable and well equipped
Review 71:Although it had a minimal effect on our stay on this occasion, would have preferred to be warned that renovation works were in progress and that the hotel was covered in scaffolding. In summer months traffic would be a problem in this location.
Review 72:Very friendly staff, good location, plenty of parking.
Review 73:The restaurant was over-priced. We thought £13 each for fish and chips was a bit steep. We were not even served with a roll before our dinner. When the food did arrive it was not very nice. The fish was okay, but the huge chunky chips were cold!
Review 74:The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
Review 75:I was disappointed that my rate was higher by booking with Booking.com than it would have been if I had contacted the hotel direct
Review 76:The room, location, restaurant and breakfast
Review 77:The Hotel is in Lyndhurst located in the beautiful New Forest. The welcome given to me on arrival was friendly and excellent. The staff were courteous and helpful. The breakfast choices were excellent.
Review 78:The room was a bit smaller than expected from the pictures on the website
Review 79:The room was very clean and modern plus the food was excellent although a liltyle bit pricey,
Review 80:For my mother's birthday, food, staff, location and general atmosphere very exclusive and professional. Excellent manors and very helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 81:The decor and furnishings of the hotel were very tasteful, not modernised too much like some hotels. This really suits the area that the hotel is in. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated in a perfect location.
Review 82:We were pleased with everything. The staff were lovely and helpful. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. The room was clean and the shower was amazing. Thank you! We will be back
Review 83:Think that the noise from the kitchens travels up to the Scarlett suite as we found it very noisy. Lots of banging and crashing as well as high voices.
Review 84:Love the hotel, our suite and the majority of the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Review 85:The bed very comfortable and room beautifully decorated.outstanding scenery in perfect location . Food was of a very high standard and staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 86:Wish room had been a little bigger, window wouldn't open, scaffolding at front which was in front of our window
Review 87:The staff were really friendly and helpful
Review 88:The pillows offered no support, and the bed sloped away from the middle.
Review 89:The food. Evening meal was in my top ten of all time. And quite reasonably priced. I was looking forward to the breakfast, but overslept.
Review 90:Not much to be honest. But to be picky have enjoyed a better ambience in the bar areas at other hotels. But have experienced a lot worse. also not a problem really as you are amongst and within easy reach of local pubs.
Review 91:Central location, close to other restaurants. Friendly staff. clean comfortable room. Good food, both eve. meal and breakfast. Parking exceptable.
Review 92:Nothing
Review 93:We arrived quite Late but we were offered food in the restaurant even though they were due to stop serving in 10 mins. The food was excellent and we would happily recommend the restaurant. The room was spotless and decor was really nice. Our bed was a Queen size and extremely comfortable. We had a fantastic breakfast and we would highly recommend this Hotel.
Review 94:Stairs so creeky when walked down. Some guests had children that made so much noise in a lovely quiet breakfast room on the Saturday. I am not against Children it was just so loud. (Not the Hotel's fault.)
Review 95:Staff was excellent, friendly and worked very hard.
Review 96:Excellent staff throughout the weekend. Breakfast was amazing and so was the other restaurant food available. Close to everything needed. Comfortable bed in good sized room with ensuite.
Review 97:Staff very pleasant and extremely helpful. Rooms very clean and comfortable, although quite hot at night mainly due to not being able to open windows very wide, even though a fan was provided, .
Review 98:The bed is really soft, 2nd stay for us, 1st time in King Rufus suite, this time in 111 we'd forgotten the beds were this uncomfortably soft
Review 99:The hotel is lovely, well maintained and staff are extremely friendly and polite
Review 100:No twin bed rooms, (or only one or two) so had to make do with narrow 5ft double. Hotel dinner menu somewhat expensive.
Review 101:Unusual character, seems like a hotel from 1925, but fully modernised, so amongst the genuine period furniture and artifacts, all "old" looking fittings (bathroom for example) are actually very new and fully functioning. Very friendly and welcoming staff, and decent breakfast buffet. Excellent position and parking.
Review 102:An excellent hotel where the staff are attentive and courteous....like England fifty years ago. We plan to return in May 2016 and will definitely stay at this hotel. I'm sorry that you calculation gives 8.8...the hotel is much better than 8.8
Review 103:Most staff seemed miserable, room was noisy throughout the night (noises from other guests and outside) and the extractor fan in the en suite was very loud
Review 104:Location and breakfast, staff at check in and check out were also lovely
Review 105:Parking a bit limited Lack of indoor facilities when it's wet
Review 106:Good location, quirky old building. Great staff. Fantastic breakfast. Smart room and on suite. Historic lift, has to be seen
Review 107:The noise from the road, very small and not great quality TV in the room.
Review 108:The photo of the hotel is a little misleading, the angle gives the impression it's in grounds when in fact is on a very busy road
Review 109:Fantastic location, beautiful interesting, clean building, friendly helpful staff and wonderful food, what more could you want. Thank you Crown House Manor, we look forward to visiting you again
Review 110:The lift, to be honest I think it's there as a talking point as its the oldest in Europe.
Review 111:The manager was really helpful, carried bags to the room and kept the dinner warm when my wife had to feed the baby half way through the meal. Highly recommended the kind of service you want from a hotel with a boutique feel.
Review 112:The room was a bit noisy - being at the front of the hotel you could hear the heavy traffic passing through the village.
Review 113:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was good as you could walk into the village.
Review 114:The location was perfect as a comfortable base for exploring the new forest. The hotel facilities were perfect and varied enough for all the family.
Review 115:Breakfast not up to par, compared to the rest of the hotel. Poorly cooked with only an average choice of food.
Review 116:Perfect location for touring the forest. Good parking at the hotel
Review 117:We booked 2 'snug' rooms and whilst ours was very adequate for our stay and as we had expected it to be, the 2nd room (302) was in the eves and compromised the comfort of the room greatly. If we had been aware of this we would have declined the room and feel that a greater reduction in price should be applied to this room. Evening menu was limited in choice and would benefit from a selection of specials being added to it.
Review 118:Helpful and friendly staff. Very good breakfast selection. Peaceful atmosphere.
Review 119:The staff were extremely polite and accommodating. They were not flustered even when you could see that they were very busy. They always seemed to have the time to help. They also had a very good knowledge of the area and so gave great are an device on where to go areanddvucend what to do locally
Review 120:Whilst we don't mind paying these rates for hotels, this hotel didn't really compare to others we have stayed in for less and feel is overpriced. We had a very small room on the 2nd floor out the back (supposed to be quieter) on the first night which was extremely hot (even though it wasn't exceptionally hot weather), but the window only opened a short way so getting air in was very difficult. This coupled with the extract from the kitchens and we think plant on the roof made for a very disturbed night. Having said that, when we asked to move rooms the next day the receptionist was extremely helpful and moved us to another room on the second floor on the front. This room had air conditioning which was great, but you need this as you've got to keep the windows closed really at night due to the traffic noise. Bathrooms in both rooms were tight for space to say the least. A shame as we could have stayed somewhere for quite a lot less which we would then probably have expected the above ?
Review 121:The staff were very helpful and when we asked to change rooms for our second night were very accommodating and were happy to do this. Cannot fault the staff and location for ease of access to this beautiful area however....
Review 122:Standing at breakfast area waiting for eggs / bacon / beans / ash browns to be replenished food taste was ok but waiting did spoil breakfast
Review 123:Location comfort Price
Review 124:The staff were all excellent and very helpful. The breakfast was good with plenty of choice for some one like me who doesn't enjoy a cooked breakfast.
Review 125:I booked a table for 2 on Wednesday evening, but found that no one logged it so we ate out. My partner was meant to have a happy birthday dessert but no one booked us in even though I insisted on that .
Review 126:Everything about the location and the hotel was what I was looking for. This was a surprise for my girlfriends birthday and she loved it so much that I will take her back there again.
Review 127:Woken at 6.30am by laundry trolleys. Thankfully I am an early riser!
Review 128:The hotel had a lovely welcoming atmosphere and all staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Really enjoyed sitting in hotel garden with a glass of wine after a busy day.
Review 129:Lyndhurst was a bit of a dissapointment ,ok for pubs, eating out but a traffic bottleneck
Review 130:very comfortable hotel with very attentive and friendly staff.High standards maintained the 2 nights we stayed.
