In the historic quarter area, just a 5-minute walk from the River Wye, this 200-year-old Welsh stone building is rich in original character and traditional charm, with wood beams and exposed stonework.
In the rural market town of Rhayader, known as the gateway to the Lakeland of Wales, the Horseshoe Guesthouse and Restaurant makes a great base from which to explore the region’s magnificent mountains, valleys, woods and lakes.

Reviews for The Horseshoe Guesthouse

Review 1:Room rather chilly .Stairs creaked a lot so a bit noisy at night with people in and out. Credit cards not taken although advertised as taking them. One guest had to find £130 in cash for his family group before he left. Did take cheques and debit cards..

Review 2:Had a good size bedroom well furnished and bright. Shower room adequate. brilliant breakfast. Very efficient and helpful.

Review 3:great for a family gathering with a variety of rooms. Friendly and helpful owner. Pet friendly. Great breakfast. Good parking.Good location. Would stay there again if visiting the area.

Review 4:No lights on outside the entrance door or inside the property when I came back at 10.15 pm. Struggled to see to get key in outside door and in bedroom door.

Review 5:Car parking, excellent location, friendly staff, good breakfast.

Review 6:Felt the breakfast was a little below par as we like fresh fruit, and perhaps a choice of dried nuts and fruit with natural yoghurt to put on a good quality muesli. Also the toast was spongy and not crisp - but I admit we shouldn't expect what we have at home, so sorry for being picky!

Review 7:Friendly, helpful owners, clean comfortable room.

Review 8:I was in the bedroom with the boiler which kept clicking on and off extremely noisily, he said it went off at nine, but forgot to say it came on again at six. The TV did not work until he came to fiddle about with a switch and some joker had set the clock alarm for midnight, necessitating a root under the bed to extricate the plug.

Review 9:Quiet and peaceful location.

Review 10:Dog friendly

Review 11:We went for two nights family run guest house it was like being at your relatives house Dog made very welcome Would go back Local pub good food dog welcome Took my parents they stayed in disabled room to didn't work and heater went off during night leaving my mom cold Apart from that absolutely no complaints

Review 15:Very quiet. good breakfast. Welcoming people. Good location.

Review 16:No sausages for breakfast because the owner does not like them!

Review 17:The family room was awesome, attic bedroom with separate room attached and also en suite bathroom. Best nights sleep ever.

Review 18:Nothing, will stay again when I am back in the area.

Review 19:Booked the twin room through my booking.com app and arrived two hours later. Offroad parking available for my motorcycle. Received a warm welcome. Local pub recommended for evening meal. Room was large and had a bath which was welcome after a day's riding. Comfy bed, slept very well. Breakfast was plentiful and set me up for the day.

We had a two bedroom room suite upstairs which was beautifully furnished, we were so pleasntly surprised when we turned up to have such a lovely guesthouse as I don't think the booking.com ad does the guesthouse justice.
