Reviews for The Manor House

Review 1:TV in room not great - would unexpectedly change channels! WiFi in the room was very weak, just enough for email and messaging.

Review 2:Easy to find, off road parking, clean and comfortable. Great value for money given the proximity to Gatwick airport.

Review 3:Nothing nearby for food or entrainment for someone without a vehicle.

Review 4:Comfortable beds. Not too far from the airport. Quiet. My bags were carried up the stairs. Owner provided transportation to the airport in the morning

Review 5:Both staff were friendly. The room was as described, which was good for the one night stay, clean and with sufficient storage space if the stay had been longer. The breakfast room was clean, well organised and a good choice of food for a continental breakfast.

Review 6:Because it was so close to the airport it was noisy but to be expected.

Review 7:Friendly greeting by the owner. On site parking. Close to London Gatwick airport. The owner took me to the airport after breakfast at no extra charge.

Review 8:The owner was friendly and efficient. The premises were very quiet and clean. Breakfast was perfect (even at 6 am!). Great to have the shuttle back to the airport in the morning.

Review 9:This was the best B&B I've been to in a long time! The owners were so friendly and accommodating. My friend and I had to leave early in the morning for our flight and despite the time, we were still able to have breakfast before we left. The room was lovely and had a nice view, and the bathroom was the nicest one I'd seen in England so far. I would heartily recommend.

Review 10:More rules and regulations than boarding school - and as an 'airport' hotel, the inconvenience of not opening before 5pm was unhelpful. Little personal input from owner.

Review 11:Convenient to airport. Attractive hotel. Great bathroom.

Review 12:good continental breakfast, could include a little more protein--cheese or lunchmeat

Review 13:close to Gatwick airport. Anytime breakfast fits a variety of schedules

Review 14:The location was wonderful, the room was clean and quaint, and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I enjoyed my stay here and would gladly return.

Review 15:I cannot praise this guesthouse enough. It is a lovely place, immaculately clean, rooms are big and fresh, bed comfortable. The owners are really nice people, frendly and helpul. You will not be dissapointed if you stay here. I would choose a stay here over all the other guest houses and a lot of the hotels in the area.

Review 16:The coffee machine at breakfast was broken. Hotel is under the Gatwick flight path, although this didn't bother us as it was expected.

Review 17:Cleanliness of the room and a powerful shower. welcoming owner.

Review 18:Not applicable

Review 19:Hospitality and local knowledge… the Plough Inn was a highlight. We really appreciated being picked up from the bus stop and being driven back to Gatwick the next day

Review 20:Loved the accomadation, the owners, the property. The owners are so friendly, the room was lovely spacious, clean. The property is very nice. I could not fault it in any way. The best B&B in the area in everyway.

Review 21:A common problem encountered was the various shower mixers installed in accomodation houses of this type and working out how they function. A 3 line guide affixed to the shower screen could overcome the frustration.

Review 22:Prompt & quick check in on arrival after a long drive was greatly appreciated.

Review 23:I couldn't get into wi fi.

Review 24:The gentleman who runs the manor was lovely! We slept most of the time we were there, but close to airport and very comfortable!

Review 25:Lovely house, our twin room was spacious with a view over the garden and fields beyond. Large spotless bathroom and comfy beds. Staff suggested a country pub for our evening meal which was delicious. Will definitely stay again.

Review 26:My teenage daughter and I were personally taken care of by the on-site manager. He also went above and beyond when I left an article there and he found an inexpensive way to return it to me in the US, at some inconvenience to him. Would definitely stay there again if needed to be close to Gatwick.

Review 27:bed was tiny and not very comfortable. Everything felt very dated. The heating was turned on so it was a bit cold at nighttime.

Review 28:good showers - liked the water pressure

Review 29:Perhaps a bit of investment to spruce up the place and replace/repair a defective item or two.

Review 30:Pleasant change to chain hotels. In all fairness at the price per room per night one doesn't expect perfection and one doesn't get it. However I'd go back and I'd recommend it to those who don't mind being away from next door shops, etc. in a pleasant, rural environment, and the very pleasant man does offer a complimentary pick up and set down back to the terminal of your choice at Gatwick Airport.

Review 31:bathroom colour scheme a little out of date but scrupulously clean and very generous size.

Review 32:free airport drop from the calm, capable host (a plus as I'm half asleep in the am). beautiful period fireplace in the room. less than 5 minutes to the North terminal. excellent price for parking if you leave your car whilst you are away.

Review 33:rubber/plastic sheet on the bed. No help up or down stairs with luggage. Lady (proprietor's wife?)rather peremptory.

Review 34:Proprieter friendly and polite.

Review 35:Nil.

Review 36:Very efficient, confirmed booking promptly. Very good rates for car parking. Driven to the airport in good time and on return we were picked up within 15 minutes of informing them. Overall, excellent.

Review 37:Would have liked to have stayed longer!

Review 38:The breakfast The hosts - made you feel welcome and gave you space The bedroom and lovely bed The feel of the place - it was very personal unlike some of the more mundane chain hotels Proximity to the airport - short taxi ride

Review 39:You just need to put up with the airport noise (no surprise given its position). Walking to a restaurant can be tricky at night.

Review 40:Very helpful and friendly host. Comfortable bed. Reasonable rates. Continental breakfast means you can have it early in the morning.

Review 41:Have stayed with you a few times and still have to find the £10 return taxi to you from Gatwick. I think your information is out of date, no reply on the number you gave me! This time Oct, was £17 outrageous. I do not think Gatwick again! Will to stick to local airports, I am in Somerset and more sensible prices

Review 42:Thank you for taking me to the airport very good

Review 43:Owner was very polite and helpful. We didn't have time for breakfast as had early flight. Owner took us to airport but you have to get back on your own. Recommended taxi which costs £8 to get back to hotel hotel charges £2 a night to keep car. You do have tea/coffee in room.

Review 44:Nothing

Review 45:This was my second stay and again I was pleased. Everything -from having somewhere to park my car on arrival, to getting a good night's sleep and the breakfast- is very sound and at the price I can't fault anything.

Review 46:With my daughter and I being on foot, the location requires the use of a taxi to get anywhere at all. However, if you are arriving by car there shouldn't be a problem. Decor of breakfast room is not very inviting - too dark. It's also very cramped around the food area. Too impersonal. It would have been nice to have been greeted for breakfast by owner, manager or member of staff who could have explained the breakfast set up. We ended up sorting things out with other residents.

Review 47:The peacefulness, despite being so close to Gatwick Airport. The size of our 'family' suite (my daughter and I having booked a double room with single beds)

Review 48:No pavement (sidewalk) for travelers, with luggage, to safely walk from the bus stop (527).

Review 49:Accommodations were good for our one night stay. The owner was very pleasant and informative. The free shuttle to the airport was a bonus. Self serve breakfast was relaxing and flexible (no one buzzing around trying serve). Recommended a great pub within 1 km walk, The Plough Inn in Ifield. The bus service was very convenient and inexpensive.

Review 50:A step or two above what I expected after staying at what I thought were equivalent places near Gatwick and Heathrow. Newly redecrated in traditional style. Country-like location yet next to the back of the airport. Higky recommend.

Review 51:Underneath the approach path to Gatwick, so may be unwanted noise early morning. The wifi was a very weak signal when I tried over two nights there.

Review 52:Clean room. Simple self service breakfast station. Free overnight parking. Convenient for airport.

Review 53:Dirty pillowcases and the pokey room. Check-in only after 5Pm and breakfast finished at 08:30!

Review 54:Handy for Gatwick (but we weren't). Only use this if nowhere else is available.

Review 55:Before we had checked in we were asked when we would be leaving. Breakfast was shocking and not worth eating. Although the hotel was set in lovely grounds, we were not allowed to walk around them.

Review 56:Mattress not so good.

Review 57:Location - 10 minutes from airport

Review 79:Free lift to the Airport in the morning.

Review 80:Friendly welcome, beautifully clean room.

Review 81:Very small shower

Review 82:Clean and the staff was very accomodating.

Review 83:Poor matress, distance to airport (17 pound), basic breakfast

Review 84:Very slow wifi and would have liked a cooked breakfast

Review 85:Mark was great and friendly. Free ride to the airport and a quiet location. The bed was a bit hard for my taste but I'd stay here again.

Review 86:Late arrival, no restaurant or pub close enough to get food.

Review 87:Shuttle to airport comp.

Review 88:Quiet location. Lovely helpful owners. Rooms 100% clean and facilities excellent.

Review 89:Very well located. Excellent bedroom and shower room. Great value for money.

Review 90:Wifi wouldn't work for me and the breakfast I would've like warm food, but for the value it was great!

Review 91:The owners were very nice!

Review 92:Location is not convenience

Review 93:breakfast is not bad.

Review 94:Could hear the man next door coughing and his tv til late

Review 95:Cosy room with large bathroom and good holiday parking

Review 96:Nothing negative to say.

Review 97:Free to come and go as liked, everything was as advertised.

Review 98:Friendly Staff and good sleep. Nice continental breakfast. A good half hour walk from town. Close to Gatwick Airport.

Review 99:There was nothing in particular we did not like. The breakfast could do with some work.

Review 100:The closeness to Gatwick Airport.

Review 101:None

Review 102:Many thank to manger for lift me by his car to gatwick airport no charge many thanks and very frendly man and good breakfast early morning

Review 103:The location is very good for Gatwick airport. The breakfast was good with a varied choice, toaster on last legs. The room was good with on suite.

Review 104:No meal place close - a 20 minute walk or short drive if you can find it. We did the block twice then asked a local.

Review 105:Everything.

Review 106:very nice clean b&b near gatwick airport and motorway

Review 107:Pleasant old country house. Conveniently located. Welcomed, and then left alone, which is the way I like it.

Review 108:very homely and welcoming .very friendly .good breakfast

Review 109:No bar no food no wifi (or couldnt get it to work )

Review 110:clean confortable

Review 111:Noise from the other guests rooms very loud

Review 112:Location Friendliness

Review 113:difficult to see entrance when driving along road; only two coathangers in wardrobe.

Review 114:very nicely furnished and comfortable room; shared bathroom clean; useful to have washbasin in room as well; good selection of cereals, drinks etc. for breakfast; almost the only place I could find in the area at single-room price.

Review 115:Check in is from 5pm onwards. Wifi coverage is poor and needs a wifi extender installing. No cooked breakfast option, breakfast area is also quite cramped. No fan in room, opening windows not an option due to airport noise.

Review 116:Very friendly welcome. Lovely Rural Location. Clean and Tidy. Good Value for Money.

Review 117:I arrive at 15:00 and was told I could not check in before 17:00. When I returned at 17:15 I had to wait for the other guest to be seen to as they had also arrive at the same time. That was the last time I saw a member of staff for 2 days. Breakfast, that was included in the price, was an insult by any standard. There was a small table top fridge with concentrate orange juice, 4 yogurts, milk, dairlylee cheese spread and butter portions. On the table, half loaves of white and brown bread and two individual packed croissants, one of which looked as if it had been stood on. I would have like to expressed my dissatisfaction, but as I said there was not a member of staff to be seen,. No one, for two nights, unbelievable.

Review 118:There wasn't much to like
