Reviews for Boutique Hotel Victoria Budapest
Review 1:Loved everything, a kettle and tea/coffee in the bedroom would have been good.
Review 2:Wonderful staff, amazing view from room 93 with a balcony overlooking Danube.
Review 3:Some minor problems with the WiFi in the first night, but it got fixed quickly.
Review 4:Everything was great! Huge room, marvelous view, brilliant breakfast, polite staff!
Review 5:Small, clean, friendly....lovely position. Views from room amazing. Walking distance to many attractions and eateries. Breakfast choice for a small hotel brilliant.
Review 6:There is nothing to complain about during our stay. The location of the hotel is really convenient. The view from our room was breathtaking, even better from the pictures are shown, from the right side is located the Chain bridge and Hungarian Parliament from the left. The room was spacious, clean with a comfy bed and well equiped. Moreover, the staff is very service minded. Additionally, the breakfast included a wide variety of international and local delicacies on a rich buffet. To sum up,it is about an outstanding quality boutique hotel that a highly recommend
Review 7:Nothing to comment on as hotel was perfect . If anything 'afternoon tea' was not worth attending .
Review 8:Staff very friendly and very helpful, including booking taxis and restaurants. Marvellous views from panoramic windows. Spotlessly clean . Wonderful breakfast with a lot of choice and freshly cooked eggs to order .
Review 9:they should be more clear here on booking they have 4 and 3 star rooms. I was expecting from the filter 4* hotel but it was 3* room. They should take photo of that 3* rooms too and that 2nd building. I expected something different from the description. 3*Room was furnished outdated, room was very small. I felt like to be back in 1990. Only Bathroom was renovated.
Review 10:Hotel personal was friendly.
Review 11:not much really, maybe fresh orange juice in the morning would be good addition
Review 12:location, clean room, beautiful view on the parliament (especially on higher floors)
Review 13:I have asked for an extra bed but upon arrival they didn't have any more left. Poor knowledge of English. Breakfast room has only few tables so we had to wait to eat. Staff in the breakfast area unpolite and only one doing all the work so complete chaos all around. When you ask something they started explaining in Hungarian!
Review 14:The location and a specious room.
Review 15:Absolutely nothing. We plan to return next Christmas!
Review 16:The location is perfect. 5 minutes walk in either direction and you're in the heart of Buda or Pest. The complimentary sauna is fab. The view from the rooms is out of this world. We stayed over Christmas and received a box of chocs and bottle of wine on Christmas Eve which was a wonderful surprise.
Review 17:Very good location, close to the City center. Stunning view on the Danube, the Parliament and the Chain Bridge from our the 4* room. Excellent value for money.
Review 18:The room was connected with the next one with a (locked) door, which made soundproofing problematic. Breakfast was not bad but some more variety could be an improvement.
Review 19:Best view you can have in Budapest, excellent location with all main sights in walking distance, friendly staff.
Review 20:Twin beds pushed together not ideal for a couple. Bathroom a bit small and dual shower head system was awkward. Continental breakfast was good but cooked breakfast options were quite limited.
Review 21:View from our room as cross the Danube was magnificent. Room was very spacious with comfortable bed and lots of storage.
Review 22:Chairs in the breakfastroom not comfertable no coffee/thee facilities in the room. Its a must!
Review 23:Nice rooms, good beds, nice vieuw from the room, very good breakfast, bathroom nice, nice and friendly personel
Review 24:One thing that was needed, was coffee or tea facilities. There was an afternoon tea facility 4-5pm with tea and buscuits, however, this would be much preferred as a perminant facility, or these to be provided in the room. As it would be very rare to arrive to the hotel on time for afternoon tea, and after a long day the most needed drink is a good cup of tea, before heading back out or to bed. Apart from that I could not fault the hotel.
Review 25:The hotel was very modern, also the view was spectacular! Overlooking the parliament building, it was a fantastic view. The hotel was within a good distance of many things, and the metro was close by to get too and from the center of Budapest. Visiting at Christmas time was a good choice, the Christmas markets where friendly and welcoming, none of which hassled you to buy or bothered you when you were 'just looking' which I liked very much. The hotel is out of the way enough to have some space from the hustle and bustle, but close enough to be able to get too and from buda and pest. There are some nice bars on that road also, I would recommend visiting dilirium, a friendly bar with a warming atmosphere. The hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were cleaned throughout the day and if it wasn't done in the morning, it would be done later in the day. The mini bar in the room was reasonably priced, actually cheaper than the main bar downstairs. The beds where very comfortable, very well needed after a long day of sight seeing! The breakfast also had good selection, scrambled eggs with bacon were very nice :)
Review 26:There is nothing I could count!
Review 27:Everything was perfect: the receptionist really eager to help, with very good english speaking skills, the room very big and sufficient space to "walk", the position of the hotel, the parking place, the breakfast is more than enough, fresh, the breakfast room well lighted and spatious. We enjoyed a lot our stay here!
Review 28:Great location. Easy access to restaurants, bus, metro, sightseeing spots, etc. The staff was extremely friendly and willing to provide local restaurant suggestions that were well priced and served authentic Hungarian meals. The room was a perfect size for my husband and me. The view of Pest and the Hungarian parliament building was fantastic. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!
Review 29:Parking at garage, small garage for 3 cars? Oh no, really bad and paid... Little breakfast place..table next to the table.
Review 30:A location, awesome view from room...really awesome
Review 31:Our room was on the first floor and it was quite loud because of the traffic on the street
Review 32:Nice location on the "Buda" - side, just right on the river and wonderful view of the parlament building. Breakfast was nothing special but enough to start your day
Review 33:Nothing
Review 34:The location of the hotel is excellent, just a short walk over Chain Bridge to Pest side and away from all the hustle and bustle. The breakfast was brilliant, a huge choice and an option of cooked also. Rooms very comfortable with a lovely view.
Review 35:The view was amazing! couldn't believe it when we went to our room and looked out across the river at the Parliament building so beautifully lit up! Breakfast was very good, plentiful and lots of choice. We loved this Hotel.
Review 36:there wasn't any tea making facilities in the room, although it was supplied after asking for it, with a small charge of 6 euros per day.
Review 37:the hotel was spotlessly clean
Review 38:No bad experience but a suggestion that tea and coffee making facilities in the bedrooms as most people like to get up with a drink. This is the first hotel I have ever stayed in without these facilities
Review 39:The position of the hotel was perfect. The staff were polite, efficient and friendly and there knowledge of the area was a great help. There ability to speak English was also a help
Review 40:Spectacular view from bedroom across the Danube to Parliament Building and Chain Bridge. Easy to get into the City Centre. Very helpful and friendly staff. Bedroom spacious and extremely clean. Substantial breakfast with lots of choice. Close to some great bars and restaurants.
Review 41:Only improvement would have been to have tea/coffee facilities within the room.
Review 42:Fantastic views across the Danube to the Parliament building, and within 5 minutes walk of both the chain bridge and the nearest metro station.
Review 43:Not one thing. I loved everything about this Hotel.
Review 44:Without a doubt this was the best Hotel I stayed at during my trip to Europe, and I stayed at some excellent hotels. I was completely satisfied with every aspect of this Hotel, perhaps the most appealing (and thrilling) was that each room has a river view. I arrived in Budapest early evening to the most amazing sight of the Chain Bridge and Parliament House in lights as well as cruise boats sailing up and down the Danube...all this from my bedroom window. The room was spacious, beautifully furnished and fitted out, as well as a spacious bathroom. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful, and the breakfast (included in the price) was excellent with the dining room overlooking the Danube. You couldn't ask for more and it was excellent value for money. I would highly recommend this Hotel for its central location, value for money, excellent views and comfortable and beautifully equipped rooms. A definite 10 and out 10.
Review 45:Everything was excellent and the view of the Danube incredible. Many thanks to all the staff who assisted us - you were greatly appreciated. Breakfast was very good and we had the afternoon tea one day which was enjoyable in a lovely setting.
Review 46:The breakfast was very average and the food not especially good quality.
Review 47:Very large tasteful modern room with a truly fabulous view of the Danube. The property is lovely, with an historic interior behind a modern façade. The staff were helpful and friendly. We were glad that we chose Buda over Pest for our stay because there are so many historic places to see there and it is quieter and greener than Pest.
Review 48:The staff were all so helpful! Breakfast was great. The rooms were amazing with a spectacular view and the beds were so comfy! Would definitely return here and recommend to anyone going to Budapest!
Review 49:Great location on the Buda side with wonderful views of Parliamemt. The breakfast options were varied. Staff nice. The only issue I could complain about is that the bathroom would be a challenge to someone with a handicap or not in the best physical shape; you really need to step up to get in the bathtub and the shower head was a bit of challenge for me.
Review 50:First, the location was superb, on the river with the Chain Bridge nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, including directing us to nearby metro station and recommending sightseeing and excellent restaurants. The breakfast was also great, including fresh fruit.
Review 51:Great location right on the Danube River with views of the beautiful Parliament and Chain Bridge from every room. We were third floor and the night view was spectacular with all of the lighted buildings across the River. You can walk to Buda Castle, Church and many things.
Review 52:Great location, great breakfast, nearby parking and change facility, easy walks to key parts of Buda and Pest. Clean and nice views from the room. Nice and well connected/informed staff. Nice tea and happy hour.
Review 53:The location of this small boutique hotel is fabulous. Right on the Buda side of the Danube with a breathtaking view of the parliament buildings. You are just walking distance to the main attractions in Buda.
Review 54:nothing
Review 55:This place was absolutely wonderful from the staff to the location for the value. Would definitely recommend it to others, friends and family.
Review 56:Shampoo from a dispenser; no conditioner. A small price to pay for a great place.
Review 57:Friendly staff -- at the desk, and especially at breakfast. The Parliament/Danube view, with ceiling to floor windows, is amazing. The location is almost perfect: away from the hustle and bustle of Pest, yet walking distance to the Chain Bridge, a lovely neighborhood, a couple of blocks from buses and a subway.
Review 58:This hotel was amazing. Walking distance from many of the major tourist attractions. The view from the hotel was incredible. Comfortable, quiet, modern, clean rooms-- great beds. Nice breakfast. Nothing was lacking. Just the best.
Review 59:Location is good, but living in pest side is better I think. Breakfast lake of hot choices. We stay 3 nights, request to change the bed sheet on the 3rd day, the cleaning lady did not do that. Check out time is 1100am, we left the room at 1050, when I opened the room door, the cleaning lady just waiting at the room door and ask us“ finished” ? A little bit odd.
Review 60:Room window facing the river, beautiful at night, WiFi is strong Good breakfast, you can order different type of eggs, the lady in the restaurant is very friendly and professional even she was busy.
Review 61:Everything about this hotel was great! Great view from bedroom, quiet, comfortable, friendly, very good breakfast, excellent location for transport and easy walking to most sights. Thoroughly recommended
Review 62:15 minutes walk to nearest metro station and supermarket. Lack of good restaurants around hotel.
Review 63:Wonderful view of Parliament House and Chain Bridge. Nice and clean rooms. Very helpful reception staff.
Review 64:Traveled to the airport early morning before breakfast was served. Staff suggested and had a to-go meal prepared for us at checkout. Much appreciated.
Review 65:It really is impossible to find fault with this hotel. I have never said that before and will probably never say it again, but it was simply superb from beginning to end of a ten day stay.
Review 66:Hotel Victoria was everything a boutique should be but rarely is. Superb attention to detail, excellent staff, very high quality breakfast and easily the best location of any hotel in Budapest.
Review 67:No nothing.
Review 68:Amazing view from balcony on top floor. The parliament blew me away! Staff lovely and helpful. Good rooms, clean, pleasant. The view did make all the difference.
Review 69:Room was a little chilly.
Review 70:In house massage. I was able to borrow their pocket wi if device which helped tremendously to get around. I had a small balcony and a beautiful view of the Danube and Parliament building. Fantastic breakfast which was Included in the price, within walking distance to the metro. Reception staff were very helpful in arranging tours.
Review 71:The location was very nice. The room had a fantastic view of the Parliament and the hotel was close to the main bridge (Chain Bridge). Moreover, it was very comfortable and clean. The staff were super nice. I definitely recommend it!
Review 72:There no were coffee making facilities in the room
Review 73:Friendly and helpful staff, and the panoramic view we had of the Danube River and seeing the night lights
Review 74:Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 75:Convenient location to Budapest attractions and transportation (although central Buda and Pest are not large areas, easily walked around); attractive room; good breakfast; staff are quite helpful and pleasant. Excellent view from room, which was also relatively quiet.
Review 76:I can't think of any negative aspect relating to the hotel itself - But - work is ongoing on the tramway past the front of the hotel and work on relaying some of the rails may reach the hotel soon.
Review 77:The hotel is located directly on the bank of the Danube and is within easy walking distance of the heart of the city and sights. The view across to the Parliament Building and of the Chain Bridge are fabulous by day and magical by night. The hotel only has 24 rooms located across 8 floors and all face the river so all have great views. The bedroom was large and extremely well provided with storage by way of wardrobes, cupboards and drawers. Good WiFi connection also. The standard of modern decor within the guest accommodation areas of hotel is very high whilst the level of cleanliness cannot be faulted. Historic elements of the building have also been retained however which makes for an interesting and unusual juxtaposition. Breakfasts were superb and the staff friendly and helpful. Difficult to fault in any way. Good value too considering its location within a European capital city. Incidentally, Budapest also exceeded our expectations.
Review 78:Excellent location with all our rooms having river views. Staff very friendly and complementary afternoon tea a lovely touch in the old family music room. Room comfortable and hotel quiet. Happy hour very enjoyable.
Review 79:one day it was heavily raining and when we arrived back to the hotel the lift was out of order ( our room was at the 8th. floor ) and when we asked the (( reception guy )) he just said use the stairs !!!!!???? , very poor breakfast . this is max. 2 star hotel. very bad experience and never never again.
Review 80:Nothing Nothing Nothing
Review 81:Nothing.
Review 82:Best panorama view of Budapest. Could not stop admiring the Parliament and chain bridge all lit up at night. I have shoulder and neck problems and I slept very well. Excellent breakfast and very attentive service along with special orders. Great place and great value for money. Wifi works well.
Review 83:Some staff are super nice and helpful, yet some are kind of cold.
Review 84:Right next to the river bank with great view, great location, famous sites are within few minutes walk. Food is nice, with more seletion would be perfect.
Review 85:It's very difficult to find fault with this hotel. If anything, the bathroom was a little tight for space.
Review 86:This hotel has everything you need for a base in Buda and the views from the bedrooms overlooking the Danube are breathtaking.
Review 87:10 to 15 min walk to Pest. Not recommended if you have infants or little kids. Breakfast options are very limited.
Review 88:Nice staff and you can have panoramic view of the Danube from some rooms. Located in Buda side of the city.
Review 89:The view is great especially from the upper floors, all rooms facing Danube, Parliament and Chain Bridge. The rooms are big, clean and quiet. The hotel offers a very good and tasty breakfast. Safe garage parking is available behind the hotel however there are only three spaces available and reservation is needed.
Review 90:Only wish we could have stayed longer.
Review 91:Most incredible view in the night of the Chain bridge and parliament building. Staff was great, especially reception. Breakfast great variety.
Review 92:Right now there's construction across the street which takes away from the ambience. It was noisy at times, which could be a problem for lower floors. While that's not the fault of the hotel, it could be a turn-off for some people.
Review 93:Spacious room. Outstanding view across the Danube, especially from our 7th floor room with large windows. Great location on Buda side near Chain Bridge--easy to walk to many attractions.
Review 94:Two small things come to mind: the double bed actually has two single mattresses which simply isn't as comfortable as having one large mattress. And breakfast is only served until 10AM which is almost a bit early for a weekend in my opinion.
Review 95:The view through the huge windows is really breathtaking and you just can't get enough of it. The breakfast is really good as well. Even though we didn't use it having a "MediaHub" to be able to easily connect any sort of device such as a laptop or tablet to the TV is a great thing to have in a room.
Review 96:Everything was great about this hotel - location, decor, connected rooms for our family of five, value, wifi, breakfast that was included - and the Danube river view from our 6th floor rooms was incredible!
Review 97:You would have to carry your luggage a few steps up to the lobby. It would have been nice if a ramp was there.
Review 98:The hotel excellent. Very nice view of the parliament building from our hotel room.
Review 99:I highly recommend this hotel. Rooms are large. Every room has a view of the Chain bridge and Houses of Parlament which are beautifully lit at night. Breakfast is fantastic. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Review 100:For us the only thing that was missing was availability of tea making facilities in the room
Review 101:Panoramic views looking over the Danube towards Parliament. Close to Batthyány tér metro. Rooms were very neat and well sound proofed of generous dimensions. A/C was effective and very quiet. Rooms have easy to use safe for your valuables. Hotel reception staff are very friendly and know the area well, provided good advice, helped with phone bookings and generally added that extra customer service that made our stay that bit better. Breakfast is self service buffet style with option for cooked eggs/bacon etc. Does not have an evening restaurant but that is not a problem as there is plenty of choice all round.
Review 102:Not a dislike, just a caution. The elevator only goes to the 8th floor so if someone in your group has trouble with stairs, let the hotel know at the time of your booking.
Review 103:Where to start. The view was spectacular! We were on the 8th floor and had awesome views of the Parliment Building and the Chain Bridge. Staff was friendly and accomodating (and I mean all the staff from the front desk and breakfast room to housekeeping). Breakfast was delicious with a large variety at the buffet and eggs cooked to order. The cappucino machine was a plus. Our rooms actually looked nicer than in the pictures. The bathroom was large, very clean and I loved the overhead rain shower.
Review 104:We booked this hotel as I'd planned a surprise for my boyfriend's 30th birthday. We had tickets to go and see the Red Bull air race. The hotel was brilliant, the view from the balcony for the air race were superb. The hotels location was fantastic especially for the air race. I would definately recommend this hotel if you are planning a trip to Budapest.
Review 105:Fabulous location in beautiful Budapest Great places to eat nearby Walking distance to hop-on-hop-off bus Walking distance into town over bridge Free afternoon tea in beautiful grand lounge We were allowed to check-in early
Review 106:No help with luggages at check in. Hotel is very small. Not my style. There is basically no lobby. Very small elevator. Bathroom amenities do not include soap and shampoo. These are fixed attached to the wall and refilled with cheap quality. We did not even touch them, we had to use our own. We had twin beds. The sheets of my husband bed were stained with blood. But the worst was that the shelf below the sink was poorly attached, the support was rotten and when I placed the towels on it the shelf collapsed on my foot, bruised my toe and got a black toenail.
Review 107:The view was great, the tearoom was nicely decorated. The buffet breakfast was ok, but not what I was expected though when paying $182 per night. The cantaloupe was old. The bread not so good. However I liked their omelette.
Review 108:We had the middle room on the top floor overlooking the Parliament & the river.Absolutely great views.Very close to all the major attractions. We would definitely stay here again & recommend it highly
Review 109:Superb views and excellent overall location in the city centre near the Chain Bridge. Staff are all extremely helpful and friendly, the price is good and the whole place a delightful and intimate find. We'll definitely go back!
Review 110:I've been in Budapest several times but stayed the first time in this hotel. It was beyond my expectations. The room was great with a beautiful view on the Parliament, free wi-fi and breakfast. The staff at the reception was totally friendly and so helpful. I would definitely stay there again!
Review 111:the room seen kinda old, under our expectations n we request upper floor but in fact we got assign the first floor.
Review 112:free parking in front of the hotel n good location
Review 113:We liked everything, especially the air conditioning!
Review 114:This hotel has one of the most beautiful views in Europe. It is right across from the Budapest Parliament. The full breakfasts are delicious, and the lobby bar quite handy.
Review 115:Some of the front reception staff were a bit surly Afternoon tea is not really that but a cup of tea or coffee and we were asked to pay for a kettle just for hot water
Review 116:The location and views are wonderful Breakfast is very good and especially the help of Silky Good storage space in rooms
Review 117:- no bad experience
Review 118:The view over the Danube is amazing. Staff is friendly and professional. We could see the Parlament and the Chain Bridge from our room and it is a fabulous view, specially at night when the lights are on.
Review 119:None
Review 120:Friendly and efficient staff ,beautiful hotel , excellent breakfast they do a great omlette. Reception staff really helpful especially when we had a problem with our transfer back to airport. Many thanks cant wait to go back.
Review 121:We liked the beautiful view of the river and being at the perfect location for sightseeing. Brekfast was excelllent and the staff very friendly and helpfull.
Review 122:What a truly fantastic location. Looking out the window across the Danube watching the myriad of boats large and small, the scenery was fabulous, the same scenery at night is transformed, magical!! Hotel is so handy to many of the sites well within walking distance. Some really lovely restaurants nearby and not hard on the pocket, had a fantastic time really enjoyed my stay, even in 4 days didn't see all I wanted to see so will be back and stay at this hotel.
