Reviews for The Worcester Whitehouse Hotel

Review 1:Room lock being changed after other guest checked out before 11am, as second card wouldn't work. Staff helpful when explained comfortable hotel, friendly staff, great location.

Review 2:Paying enhanced rate for breakfast considering a lot of money already spent on evening meal etc.

Review 3:Everything good, just disappointed that charged full price for breakfast as not booked as included in room, booking error. We had paid for room and eaten evening meal so had spent fair amount but still charged enhanced rate for breakfast next morning. That did rather let the hotel down somewhat.

Review 4:It felt cold in the room altough I put the heating on twice.

Review 5:Place was very clean and perfect,we have nothing to say about it,perfect location, easy acces to train or bus. Close to shops and restaurants. Even if u are stuck in still plenty to do with pool, spa, sauna and other facilities. Lovely breakfast and staff very friendly.

Review 6:Exterior windows needed cleaning. Some mould in bathroom.

Review 7:Great location by Foregate station & town centre. Decent sized room & bathroom. Very clean & comfortable bed. Plenty of storage space. Helpful & professional staff.

Review 8:Portions of food on the menu for room service was generally too large'.

Review 9:Friendly, helpful reception staff. Convenient location. Nice having gym, swimming pool & sauna facilities at the hotel.

Review 10:Our room was at the front of the hotel, possibly the original section go the hotel, could be quite noisy also bathroom needs to be updated.

Review 11:Hotel is in a very good location.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:The hotel was close to the train station and very close to town centre. The breakfast on the two mornings was plentiful with a good selection of cold and hot food and a good supply of coffee. The staff on reception and all others we were in contact with were friendly and efficient. Didn't have time to use the pool facilities which was a shame next time maybe. The room was big enough and lovely and warm, the bathroom was very clean and the shower hot and powerful, lovely fluffy towels which was a bonus. Plenty of storage space and a comfy two seater as well. No complaints, would definitely recommend and return in the near future.

Review 14:Great location for shopping, restaurants, bars and sightseeing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Plenty of places for a good breakfast nearby if you don't fancy paying the hotel's prices.

Review 15:The whole interior needs a make over, a bit modernising. The swimmingpool is nice but the colors are old-fashioned, many tiles in the ladies dressing room are in bad condition. In the room: Showercurtains are unhygienic and old-fashioned. Not enough hangers and drawers. No mini-bar. No paper handkerchiefs. Those little things you may expect in a 4 star hotel.

Review 16:The location, the swimmingpool, sauna and jacuzzi

Review 17:One guy in a suit (brown curly hair) replied to one question in french (was quite pretentious) and every time we approached someone to ask something he'd stop what he was doing to linger over us as if we were children in trouble. It all felt very patronising and despite the fact that all the other staff were polite and very respectful, he gave us the feeling that he felt elevated above us, very sanctimonious. I get that it's a beautiful hotel but he made us feel like we didn't belong there.

Review 18:Room and staff were brilliant

Review 19:Had a room overlooking the road, so slept badly due to the amount of noise. Better soundproofing needed. If you book a parking space in advance they charge you over twice the price you pay if you don't.

Review 20:Staff friendly. Great shower

Review 21:Breakfast - the cooked breakfast was tepid - so we complained at the time. Room appeared OK - but on closer inspection - there was a hole in the shade of the bedside lamp. By the back of the beds had not been hoovered. There were trims on the furniture that were either broken or missing.

Review 22:Well situated just by station and the swimming and Jacuzzi facilities.

Review 23:Dim lighting in room - no proper reading lamp 'Tired' leisure facilities Corridor noise from drunk partygoers on Saturday night

Review 24:Friendly accommodating and helpful staff from start to finish Comfortable and clean room

Review 25:We were charged automatically for the car park for 2 nights, even though we paid for one separately and didnt use the car park for the other night as it was full - beware of this charge being added !! Breakfast, if charged extra was £25 per couple, which is expensive

Review 26:central location, very clean. Worcester is well worth a visit for a couple of days

Review 27:The room was the closest to the lift and the floor boards in the hall way were very very noisy. Therefore when people passed it kept us awake, also being by the lift meant that everyone passed our room before going to their own (loud talking late at night, due to Christmas party). Shame because that is the only fault, but you do want to be able to sleep!

Review 28:Location and facilities

Review 29:It costs £6 to park each day....

Review 30:Location was perfect, directly opposite the train station and a stones throw from all the Christmas stalls and shops! Perfect to drop our bags off when they got too heavy! Staff were friendly, beds were comfy, the shower was lush!

Review 31:Not much to look at from the outside but very attractive once you go through the front doors. Helpful staff and comfortable well appointed room. It was the best part of our wet, windy Christmas shopping weekend.

Review 32:£150 for a twin and had to pay for parking on top - a bit dated - had to ask for wi-fi, had park outside the car park, run in, get a pass and run back out, lucky to find the last space.

Review 33:Clean

Review 34:Poor maintenance, toilet seats off, very heavy wooden headboard came off the wall by just leaning on it, Insufficient length of screws and anchors used, rough edges on bedroom furniture due to missing laminate.

Review 35:Location is excellent, facilities good although didn't get a chance to use them.

Review 36:All of it

Review 37:Every thing was perfect for and will seeing you and the staff very soon thank you for a great stay and a very happy Christmas to you all eric and joan

Review 38:Excellent location just 5 minutes walk from all main attractions. Big room and bathroom kept scrupulously clean. Use of the health club a bonus. Breakfast was great with very attentive staff.

Review 39:Reception staff fab. Let us in room early so we could get ready for daughters graduation at Worcester cathedral . On our return they seemed interested in the graduation and talked to my daughter about her future . So lovely.

Review 40:Rush hour traffic in Worcester is awful especially with road works but cant' blame the hotel for that :)

Review 41:Good central location, good food and drink. Pool, leisure facilities and car park (extra charge) are a bonus for a town centre hotel. Walking distance from railway station, high street shops, cathedral and pottery museum.

Review 42:swimming pool and changing rooms pokey unclean. breakfast staff not very good and all looked knackered. very noise in middle of night.

Review 43:comfy bed decent shower tea/coffee etc in rom good staff friendly

Review 44:We were asked to pay more money on arrival than was stated in the email. Due to there not being a date in which the money would be taken from our account we assumed we paid on arrival. Upon arriving we were told that because the payment was not made the day before we could not have the agreed amount stated and would have to pay more. The girl behind the desk wasn't even polite about it. Of course we were not happy and insisted she got her manager. And of course she didn't come back with her manager but not so nicely told us that on this one occasion as a "gesture of good will" we could have the stated price. I was very unimpressed by this service, we had already had a long journey, and still a long day ahead and really didn't need this as soon as we arrived. Thankfully for the hotel there was much nicer young lady at the desk later on in the afternoon.

Review 45:The bed was comfortable. Nice decor in the room. Bathroom was spacious.

Review 46:We had 2 rooms 206 & 205 both faced on to the main road. Constant noise all night from traffic and the pubs/night clubs. Reception staff really didn't care.

Review 47:Good parking

Review 48:The staff was very friendly nice clean hotel lovely warm room, breakfast was lovely and we accured a problem after booking out of the hotel but the manger and staff was so supportive xxx we will definitely use this hotel again xxx

Review 49:I had to ask for a room change- the original room was over the kitchen and reeked of frying fat- I don't think anyone should be asked to stay in it. The staff duly upgraded me to a suite, which was very good.

Review 50:The shower and the towels in the suite were lovely

Review 51:The decor. This hotel makes me feel like I was trapped in the 80's. It seriously needs a makeover and I'm not exaggerating. Also, the noise. You can hear everything and in my case that meant guests in the corridor through the night.

Review 52:Awesome power shower and a gym with adequate equipment.

Review 53:Within walking distance of the train station and the town centre, this property is perfectly situated. Rooms are spacious, clean, and very well soundproofed - you cannot hear the trains at all. It has a pleasant gym and swimming pool (with sauna and steam room). The staff are friendly and helpful.

Review 54:Nothing adverse to share

Review 55:A great service from start to finish. Your staff are a real credit to you and do their very best to deliver an excellent experience to your clients. The room was great, as was the breakfast. We will be back - well done!

Review 56:We stayed in the old part of the hotel and as you'd expect the floorboards creaked. If you're a light sleeper ask for a room in the new part. Car park at £6 per day.

Review 57:The location couldn't be better for the centre of Worcester. The room was clean and comfortable & the bed was just perfect. Breakfast was good. The leisure facilities (Pool, Jacuzzi, sauna & steam room) were all good.

Review 58:The view from 126 is not good but we were only there for a stop over for one night

Review 59:Great central location lovely spacious room very clean with good breakfast. The staff are all very friendly will go back

Review 60:the price of drinks in the bar came as a bit of a shock. one lift wasn't working and 3 out of 4 in our group are disabled, and we were on the 3rd floor, a few times the lift was too packed to be able to get in.

Review 61:the room, breakfast, the staff.

Review 62:A little noisy early morning felt like we in the same room as our neighbours

Review 63:Location, leisure facilities and our individual requirements all met at breakfast.

Review 64:Very thin walls and very loud anytime anyone closed their door--sounded like everyone was slamming their door, even way down the hall. Could hear conversations very clearly inside your room from people out in the hall.

Review 65:Poor Wi-Fi signal dependant on which bedroom you have. Expensive bar,un-necessarily expensive. Car park charge of £6 per night make room rate over priced

Review 66:Helpful willing staff

Review 67:Room above had very noisey floorboards. It was like being inside a drum when the occupants were walking around.

Review 68:Location of hotel. Excellent breakfast. Very helpful staff.

Review 69:Nice friendly, comfortable feel to the hotel. Leisure facilities were great, despite the pool being a little small. Reasonable prices for drinks in the bar.

Review 70:Shower didn't work. Door card entry didn't work. No toilet brush. Secondary glazing stuck open so street noise all night disturbed sleep. Staff not remotely interested in faults at reception desk and ignored e-mail after stay. Definitely not worth £99 and staff conspicuous by their apathy.

Review 71:Good location. Nice room.

Review 72:Staff unhelpful on reception the whole place felt sterile and empty m sandwich was cold bread out of fridge beef was awful breakfast no hot buffet due to lack of guests so not quick

Review 73:It was clean

Review 74:I think the lack of paper tissues in the bedroom was a minus point. The food in the restaurant was OK but three rather than four stars.

Review 75:A very comfortable and welcoming hotel. A City centre car park as part of the hotel was a huge plus.

Review 76:Some breakfast items had run out by 9:20am. Staff did replenish but only after asking them for more.

Review 77:Great location and secure parking. Lovely, helpful staff. Fab, powerful shower.

Review 78:The bed was a bit hard, but it was so quiet, even on the weekend that I had no trouble sleeping.

Review 79:Great service, location and clean room and hotel in general. Nice sausages in the full english breakfast buffet.

Review 80:Breakfast was below average. Rooms were large and comfortable but the hotel is dated and would benefit from decorating and updating. Wooden windows were rotten though there was secondary glazing which was good.

Review 81:Convenient location within easy walking distance of restaurants in the town centre. Rooms were clean and bed comfortable. Plenty of hot water.

Review 82:I have stayed here before and this was at least the second time no alarm call was placed even though I specifically asked for this on arrival.

Review 83:The room and breakfast were good

Review 84:TV in the bar area

Review 85:Overall excellent stay at a good clean and comfortable hotel with lovely helpful staff. Hotel well located for main city centre attractions.

Review 86:The seagulls were a bit noisy but not as bad as a lot of people are making out.

Review 87:The location is perfect if you want to see the town, you are right in the middle within easy walking distance of everthing.

Review 88:We were in a twin room and one of the beds had not had the sheets or duvet cover changed. We had to get the night porter to change the linen at 11.30pm.On the second day the coffee, biscuits and toilet rolls had not been replenished,my brother had to change rooms twice due to bad smells and faulty showers.

Review 89:hotel is located very close to shopping centre.

Review 90:There was only 2 plugs in the entire room but this is a small negative. Restaurant and bar prices were very expensive compared to the bars and restaurants just outside the hotel. We didn't eat or drink in the hotel because of this.

Review 91:Hotel was situated near the main town and was within walking distance of the shops, bars and restaurants.

Review 92:Given a room not made up and dirty. First time I have ever had this happen at a late afternoon check-in. Replacement room had just had a new carpet fitted so room was filled with fumes of glue! At breakfast had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Management rather than hotel problems.

Review 93:Location very convenient

Review 94:Our room was at the back of the hotel which was quite noisey as the rail track is raised and you can hear the trains a lot.

Review 95:Everyone was so helpful and friendly and everywhere was so clean, our room was big with a sofa to sit on. Sure it would have been nicer at front of hotel.

Review 96:The breakfast area is a little small and over-busy at peak times.....if you run a hotel you should know everyone arrives at once!

Review 97:Good sized, comfortable room.

Review 98:Could have been a bit more flexible re check in time . I know it says 2pm but surely some rooms could have been available before 2pm.

Review 99:Great location . Great value

Review 100:Parking is limited if there is a function so early arrival on Saturday night is recommended.

Review 101:Centrally located but still not overly noisy. There was a wedding going on and still it was quiet enough for a good nights sleep

Review 102:not a bad experience but could be better on details - for example, poached eggs a bit hard, scrambled eggs not enough milk in the mix. Faster service on serving coffee on breaks etc. So, not bad, but could be a little better.

Review 103:comfortable room, nice conference facilities

Review 104:window in room did not close properly so noisy with seagulls (landgulls?) at 3.00am, 4.00am etc so little sleep

Review 105:ideal location opposite the rail station, and a good breakfast

Review 106:Nothing.

Review 107:Location was great, the facility's were better but one thing I can say is the staff were very friendly all the way up to the manager who I found very helpful . Thanks for my stay and I will return.

Review 108:The street noise along with the consistent fire alarm going on or of for over an hour!!!! The noises from the plumbing system which kept us awake.....

Review 109:Lovely spacious room with everything needed inside.

Review 110:The standard of the hotel doesn't live up to how it's perceived on the hotel's website. The majority of the staff where miserable and not very helpful, the room we stayed in was dark and dreary.

Review 111:The location was probably the best feature of the hotel.

Review 112:No tissues in the bathroom. Hair dryer wired in through in the draw made it very difficult to reach my hair , as I am a tall person

Review 113:Friendly staff, good value, in town centre

Review 114:Not a 4 star hotel, dirty bathroom, broken soap holder, shelf in bathroom needing repair. Curtains and cushions well worn, room not polished. If basic rooms are not 4 star standard then the hotel should not have that rating.

Review 115:Good location for shops and pubs/ restaurants

Review 116:Car park costs quite high. It might be worth checking if hotel has coach party or group booking, as it can be difficult to arrange to have something to eat in the hotel at such times. Breakfast a bit disappointing - continental option limited.

Review 117:friendly staff on the whole - comfortable and quiet room, good location for visiting Worcester.

Review 118:Did nt like the alarm going off at 8 20am and what sounded like the staff having a party in the corridor, if i wanted an early morning call i would of asked for one!

Review 119:It was very clean and comfortable great location and nice to have a later checkout time.

Review 120:Would have been nice to have been provided with bathrobes.

Review 121:The staff and management couldn't do enough to help really lovely family atmosphere and best breakfast.

Review 122:Coming from a quiet village we found the seagulls very noisy, but that was no fault of the hotel. Ear plugs were available from reception. The beds were comfortable but not exceptional.

Review 123:Very central. Staff always in attendance with no waiting anywhere, especially in the dining room.

Review 124:check in took to long. a little slow with the tea at breakfast. I feel hot drinks would be better self service.

Review 125:the location was perfect, cleanliness could not fault. staff very friendly and helpful

Review 126:no air conditioning. a room fan used to try to cool the room. possibly need two every room,

Review 127:location excellent. extremely efficient staff and clean rooms.

Review 128:At checkin they said breakfast was included in the reservation. I asked the attendant if he was sure, because originally it wasn't, and again, got a confirmation. On the next morning it turned out it wasn't included. I almost had breakfast without knowing it wasn't actually included, which would probably be charged at checkout. This sounded to me like a dishonest conduct, but it could be only a misunderstanding. The value for money, though, was great, for 25£ per person for a nice hotel at the city center.

Review 129:Good location, very good bathroom, bed was good but sofa bed that they added for third person was not. I expected they would have a room with real beds for three when I asked for changing my reservation from a double to a triple room. It was never made clear that third person would need to sleep in an improvised bed.

Review 130:A very friendly, clean hotel with it's own car park. The hotel is in an excellent location close to a train station, shops, bars and restaurants and within walking distance of the racecourse.

Review 131:Chap who runs swimming pool (bald head) told us pool closed at 8pm but what he missed out on was the whole place closed and he was going home at 8pm. Had no time for shower. He could have told us that the whole place closed at 8pm therefore allowing us to leave the pool at 7.45pm to have a shower, not left dripping wet walking through the hotel to our rooms. There were a few people who were annoyed at his lack of information. Didn't like the fact that sport was on in the lounge TV all the time. Could have had the news or film.

Review 132:Great staff, especially the ones that work in the restaurant, always on the go. Manager of restaurant has his eye on the ball all the time, amazing!!! Food was superb with generous portions.

Review 133:The spa staff were quite rude, and the spa wasn't as clean as we would have liked. There was white fluff everywhere. The hotel room was actually too hot to sleep, even with the fan on, as there is no air conditioning and the towel heater in the bathroom is permanently on.

Review 134:The hotel rooms were well decorated and most of the staff were very helpful. There is a small but functional spa at the hotel which is free for guests to use.

Review 135:As always, the reception staff were highly efficient, courteous and friendly/ The room was most comfortable and the whole ambiance of the hotel first-class.

Review 136:There was no working light in the bathroom, which I had to ask reception to fix twice. Lack of decent ventilation in the bathroom and one small window which could not be opened fully meant the room was hot and stuffy.

Review 137:Location & Parking Access

Review 138:Hardly any sleep due to LED on the tv which illuminated the room even when covered with a towel and I am not a light sleeper. Bath was slippy and would benefit from a rubber mat. However these are small easily rectified points

Review 139:Bed linen and bed were perfect. Large comfortable bathroom. Standard room was a good size. Extra pillows, iron and board are all extra touches not expected but much appreciated. Spa facilities great for a truly relaxing stay. Impressed with swimsuit spin-drier and bag for your swimear - somme thought has gone into the customer experience.Lovely breakfast with good variety . Feedback card in room shows that the customer's opinion is valued. Would love to try an executive room - we will be back!

The Fine Print

Kindly note if the breakfast option is not chosen whilst booking, it will be GBP 12.50 per person per day to order upon arrival at the hotel.
