Reviews for Bloc Hotel Gatwick

Review 1:Nothing

Review 2:Easy and quick process through reception. As expected, a room with a tv and toilet and shower. Felt safe as single girl travelling alone. Bed super comfortable. It is not the ritz but I wouldn't expect it to be for the price. Good value for money.

Review 3:Staff are always friendly. Very quick to check in. No need to check out. Rooms are always very clean and I got upgraded this time so thanks for that!

Review 4:Nothing to complain about.

Review 5:Ease of access from station to hotel and from hotel to security and airside. Ideal for early departures from Gatwick Airport. Yes the rooms are small, but Bloc Hotels don't claim otherwise. If you have a lot of luggage then put it in the left luggage facility on the airport concourse.

Review 6:The bathroom is a wet room, and my showerhead leaked slightly so that I had to walk through a puddle to get to the loo or basin. Solved it by putting one of the fluffy towels on the floor!

Review 7:Biggest, fluffiest towels I've ever had in a hotel. V comfy bed too. I was also upgraded to a room with a view.

Review 8:Location was perfect for flight from Gatwick South Terminal and the railway station. Room clean and functional with touchscreen for all lights heating and blind.

Review 9:Not a bad experience however food for thought; once the shower has been used it means further use would tread water into the main room area.

Review 10:Proximity and comfort.

Review 11:With all lights on the room was still a bit dim.

Review 12:Location right inside Gatwick South Terminal. Well-designed room making good use of a very compact space. Practical bedside lighting control with a clock doubling as a low night-light.

Review 13:Soul-less - no real pleasure in staying there. Small. But that doesn't really matter if it's just a place to sleep at the airport

Review 14:Practical, smart & good value for an overnight sleep before an early flight

Review 15:Getting to the room was like a maze, many doors to go through and this was tough when maneuvering a stroller and luggage.

Review 16:Location was great. Compact room. Clean. Quiet.

Review 17:Quite expensive for a small room. We upgraded to a superior room which was bigger but still quite small for the price. Ok for 1 night with luggage though.

Review 18:Convenient as it's in the terminal. Close to restaurants. Room was very modern and clean.

Review 19:No room service and limited food options available on site Not enough television channel options.

Review 20:Great room, the control of all room lights through tablet was amazing. Bed was very comfortable . Wifi connection very strong. gREat bathroom

Review 21:Excellent quality of room and contents. So compact and functional. Our first experience of bloc and we enjoyed how modern it was. loved the touch screen and closeness of the airport for the early morning. Extremely quiet and efficient.

Review 22:Nowhere to hang towels in bathroom and pillows were a bit too firm for me. Bottles of water and nice toiletries were an excellent thought.

Review 23:Location was excellent, staff very helpful. Room was compact but enough for one.

Review 24:Very uncomfortable beds and pillows. No hotel facilities and those in the airport terminal are limited and overcrowded.

Review 25:Easy to find and perfect location.

Review 26:No bad experiences but would have liked a kettle/ tea coffee making facilities

Review 27:I was meeting a friend from their flight so the hotel was very convenient. It was comfortable and the receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

Review 28:Stayed here 3 times now. Love this hotel for convenience and comfort. . . perfect location right next to departure lounge. Friendly helpful staff. Can't fault it!

Review 29:Rather expensive; little space; no slippers

Review 30:In the airport; you have everything you need before flight; the shower is convenient; bed is good; it was clean; nice way to control the lights and blinds

Review 31:Literally just a few paces from security, if you are lucky enough to be flying with an airline that will check in your bag the night before, this is perfect. Although minimal facilities in-house, there are plenty of restaurant and bar options on terminal or at neighbouring airport hotels.

Review 32:As single traveller I was put in room with 2 bunk beds. I don't mind the confined space but to go to the third dimension and put a bunk bed on my head is bit much

Review 33:location

Review 34:Nothing.

Review 35:Fantastic position could not believe that we walked out of the hotel into security for South Terminal. The room was clean and quiet would definitely like to use again.

Review 36:The big mirror in the shower, unless your narcissistic looking at yourself at 5 in the morning in the shower isn't the best feeling in the world :)

Review 37:We stayed at the Bloc Gatwick as we had an early morning flight. The hotel is great for a stop over, the rooms are clean and modern and are big enough to store luggage - yes they are small rooms but they are manageable. The bed is comfortable and the blinds, lights and TV are all controlled by tablet - which might be a little confusing for older people. You can hear the planes but its not too noisy - what do you expect your in an airport!

Review 38:If one little thing it was could have done with a kettle and complimentory tea and coffee otherwise brilliant !!!!

Review 39:It was just so relaxing before flying off to our destination the next morning .:-!one little

Review 40:The location of the hotel is inside the South terminal. The train station is just there and so are food outlets. The bed was very comfortable and the room very quiet.

Review 41:The warren of corridors with so much luggage and the bathroom facilities were a challenge!

Review 42:The location within Gatwick was excellent for early travel the next morning.

Review 43:When using the shower everything in the bathroom gets wet.

Review 44:Our flight landed at Gatwick airport around 1am so the Bloc Hotel was perfect for us as we weren't keen to catch multiple trains to London in the early hours of the morning. The location is excellent and there are multiple cafe options nearby in the airport. It's a little pricey compared to other hotels in the Gatwick area, but if you add transportation cost it works out pretty similar! Very comfortable and clean, would happily stay again.

Review 45:I was ok with there not being a window, the biggest problem is with noise from the corridor - people arriving very late, leaving very early - could do with better sound insulation

Review 46:Right in the airport complex, lovely staff, comfy clean beds.

Review 47:The other room that I booked for my father, however wasn't ok. I only found out a few weeks later that the double bed was wet, the side nearness the window. My step mother ended up having to sleep in the bunk bed. They didn't want to cause a fuss and to upset me as I had paid for the room for them. Also they didn't want to start our holiday in a negative way.

Review 48:My room and factilices were fine and I experienced no problems. The score that is given up above is on my experience and not that of the other room that I booked.

Review 49:Just a bit on the small side when travelling with long haul luggage max 2 X 30k suitcases and two hand luggage. Other than that gr8.

Review 50:Very clean and comfortable and quiet.

Review 51:No iron or ironing board in the room, and no cubicle in the shower so water goes all over the bathroom. We didn't ask about an ironing service -- there may be one. Still, location was most important for us, and we loved the hotel.

Review 52:Location, location, location.

Review 53:Room is too small, so it is better to check in Your luggage the evening before. If You are a smoker bare in mind that to have a cigarette You have to walk 8 min outside the terminal.

Review 54:Location is perfect. Directly at South Gatwick Terminal. Very good quality TV. Nice and clean.

Review 55:Welcoming, friendly, brilliant location, fantastic views in all directions from breakfast terrace. Nice continental breakfast. Lovely room, economic.

Review 56:The pillows, if they had been featured and a slightly softer mattress perfect for me, but thats my personal preference

Review 57:I liked it was so central and clean, very modern and clean with excellent shower, quite

Review 58:No phone in the room; shower got entire bathroom wet; wet bathroom floor is potentially dangerous

Review 59:Convenient location; comfortable bed and fluffy towels

Review 60:The bed sheets, pillow cases and duvet covers weren't clean there were yellow spots over them and few hairs here and there. Also it wasn't convenient to have the shower water spread over the bathroom floor.

Review 61:The hotel location is perfect

Review 62:Had to wait quite a while for reception to find out from housekeeping if my room was ready which was not ideal but i had a nice chat with the receptionist. Pod bathroom was a bit of a challenge when the shower is on. A kettle would have been nice.

Review 63:Location. Comfortable bed. The tablet by the bed to control the lights etc

Review 64:The room was small. But adequate for an overnight stay.

Review 65:The location is excellent, minutes away from the departure checkin. The room was very modern and clean.

Review 66:The floor of the shower is effectively the bathroom floor. It didn't drain very well so the entire bathroom floor remained soaked through to the morning.

Review 67:Super convenient location, cost, comfort, quality, style

Review 68:Just perfect. Right in the airport, close to the checkin desks for an early flight. Funky, fun. Like Shinagawa Japan meets Malmaison but affordable. Staff were awesome. Totally recommend if your only looking for a kip before a flight at sparrow-fart am.

Review 69:No telephones in room. I have osteoarthritis and cannot use tablets or touchscreens. There was no alternative way to control room temperature.

Review 70:only problem , when had shower all bathroom floor is wet could do with something to stand on if want to use sink or w/c etc

Review 71:nice and compact directly on departures door

Review 72:I do not mind that a room is small, but the quality of the room and used materials is just unacceptable poor. Any hotel I stayed in for a similar price was of better quality.

Review 73:It is right at the airport and the bed is ok.

Review 74:There is no floor space left if you have a luggage trolley with you! We actively decided how we (2 adults, 2 children) would exit the room if there was a fire/ emergency before we slept. Can't imagine the chaos if there was such an emergency because most people simply don't abandon their luggage.

Review 75:Location,this is the only reason to stay here. The bed is comfortable.

Review 76:None

Review 77:Excellent location if travelling from Gatwick airport. Good value for money but don't expect normal hotel room space. Rooms are rather small but for overnight stay couldn't be better.

Review 78:The shower to close to the toilet , so if someone needs toilet after you showered then room is pretty wet and toilet needs drying.

Review 79:Location, comfort in rooms , reasonably priced

Review 80:No real negative comments, but the wetroom - although with a lovely, powerful waterfall shower - would have remained wet all night. I was a bit concerned about slipping over, so used some of the spare towels to dry it up. Doesn't include breakfast (obviously) - but very close to airport catering outlets.

Review 81:Location was perfect for an early morning flight. Bedroom was very well equipped, with enough towels and pillows for probably 4 people ! In-room facilities very good - TV, WiFi etc. Larger than the other "in-airport" hotel at Gatwick, and in my case - not much more expensive.

Review 82:The shower started leaking at 2am when other guests used theirs. Took shower head out its holder to stop the noise

Review 83:The bed was comfy and the room was clean.

Review 84:Ideal location, comfy bed, perfectly clean and did exactly the job we needed it to do before an early morning flight. The room is small but it's all you need, well planned room, air con and all the mod cons you need.Highly recommend this hotel for a one night stay.

Review 85:Room was really small but adequate for purpose, however no window and both woke with headaches.

Review 86:Just perfect for taking stress out of getting to airport

Review 87:wet room is well kitted out, just the time it takes for the water to clear up after a shower was a bit of an issue. Had to use the towel to clear up the water when wanting to use the wc/washbasin. .

Review 88:Very compact room, ideal for early morning departure, good value. Free Wi-Fi and location is excellent in terminal building.

Review 89:No wifi after repeated attempts and staff recommendations. Carpet got soaked after shower. Silly purple nightclub light.

Review 90:Bed, and the usual mod cons. Polite staff.

Review 91:The location of the hotel was very convenient. The room had everything I needed for a 1 night stay over. The bed was comfortable and everything was clean.

Review 92:Tiny rooms but for one night this is fine.

Review 93:Great for stopovers between flights. Excellent value for money with parking. Very clean and rooms well maintained.

Review 94:No tea and coffee. Temperature impossible to control in the room. Automatic door to section of floor was faulty. Shower horrible. Please put clear instructions for all of these. I felt claustrophobic without a window because the room was so small and full of bed! Why not have proper single rooms for solo travellers?

Review 95:Location

Review 96:The fact that it was in the airport and very close to the train station of the airport. Also, safety, cleanliness, comfort and technologically advanced (tablet for controlling lights, temperatures, etc.)

Review 97:The shower was a little awkward to use so maybe a slide out screen would be good

Review 98:For the space it had it was surprisingly roomy and the bunk bed was a hit. Plus, despite a view of the runway it was quiet

Review 99:Combined wet room and w/c wasn't to my liking. Water seemed to go everywhere. Otherwise great showers.

Review 100:Genuinely pleasant stay. Ideal location next to resturuants etc. Wasn't expecting to have a nice evening staying in the airport, but a mix of the pub 30metres away and the comfortable room was great.

Review 101:No complaints

Review 102:Very convinent in the airport! The rooms are really nice and clean! You won't believe what your getting for the price your getting it at!

Review 103:No phone in the room and "wet" bathroom was quite "wet".

Review 104:Location was perfect. Staff very attentive. Rather than use my mobile phone to call Reception when my TV remote control didn't work, took downstairs and it was replaced on the spot. Great large screen - perfect for me!

Review 105:A little cramped, but for an overnight stay within the airport, adequate and very convenient. Not having access to both sides of the bed was a little problematic being elderly we struggled to climb across to the 'wall' side!!

Review 106:The Location, easy access to all areas of the airport. Great for overnighting between flights and being able to have that extra hour in bed!!

Review 107:Signs to reception said 2nd floor when in fact it's on the third floor, no big deal usually ( unless like the couple in front of me ...because the sign pointed to stairs lugged their suitcases up!) when you have been traveling for 24 hours looking for a reception that's not where it's advertised to be is just a pain!

Review 108:Fast check in and out. The touch screen by the bed to switch off lights, alter temperature of the room, etc

Review 109:I appreciate space is limited but not having the ability to walk from my side of the bed was a bit of a pain - having to disturb and clamber over hubby to get out of bed. Storage space is non-existent so this probably isn't somewhere you want to spend time.

Review 110:This hotel is within the airport South Terminal so very handy for overnight stays between flight transfers. Within easy reach of North Terminal too (only a few minutes by shuttle). The wet room is fine, although we stuck to using small showerhead rather than large drench head to avoid soaking everything in the wet room. Bed is comfy, room is very quiet and it's easy to get a good nights sleep. Its perfect for rest between flights, which I imagine is the whole point of this hotel's existence. I would stay here again between flights.

Review 111:Staff. Had inexperienced staff on reception which (presumably) led to very long queue to check-in. Neither knew if my airline could facilitate a night-before check-in, even though this was part of their advertising on their website. One member of staff suggested that I go downstairs to the check-in desks to ask my airline, then come back and let them know.

Review 112:Room was great, bed very comfortable. Not sure about wet-room, but shower was excellent.

Review 113:Interior design and ergonomics of the room / View of the runway and planes / tea & coffee facilities, / White Company toiletries / discounts on restaurants / quietness / proximity!! I will do this again

Review 114:Family rooms for five would be brilliant - we had to split up into two rooms and they weren't connecting or even near each other.

Review 115:Great location right next to departures

Review 116:Very convenient location at Gatwick. Easy to find the hotel at arrival, and a short walk down to the check-in area. Small and tastefull room with all you need. Close to shopping and restaurants.

Review 117:The combined shower and toilet meant that once I had a shower before going to bed the rest of the room - including the toilet seat and all of the floor was wet. Not great for visits to the lop in the night - wet feet!

Review 118:Location on airport. Fair price,

Review 119:One of the pillow cases had makeup marks as if they had not changed the sheets. There is no wardrobe or any storage space inside the room.

Review 120:Location inside the airport is convenient for early flights. Convenient check-out option from the tablet inside the room. Free bottles of water. Free internet.

Review 121:Staff kindly upgraded us to a VIP room to fit a cot for no extra charge. Super comfy bed and wonderful shower facilities. made the travelling so much easier!

Review 122:The bed was not accessible from both sides so for 2 people 1 person would have to climb over to use the bathroom in the night.

Review 123:Fantastic location right next to the security gate and really plush room with more than you need for a 1 night stay. All the modcons, all digitally controlled and fantastic shower. Checking in and out was a breeze and the staff were some of the friendliest I have come across.

Review 124:Not applicable, everything was perfect

Review 125:We dont know where to start everything was perfect, easy to locate, easy check in and check out process, the shower was amazing and the tablet control was super awesome everything was perfect, the room was very clean, the bed was also very comfortable and spacious, with a great view outside, it couldn't have been more perfect we loved it and we will definitely be back sometime this year, we didn't want to leave !

Review 126:Nothing to complain about at all

Review 127:The convenience of actually being within the airport was priceless plus the room was completely adequate in every way for our stay

Review 128:Shower and toilet room get wet,.....but is a wet room. ... Bit small for a wet room though.... had no Restaurant although terrminal resturants close but they charge Airport terminal prices for Airport Terminal 'not so good' food.

Review 129:Helpful Staff and cleanliness

Review 130:I would like if the hotel can provide also a late check-out, just a few hours more free. The shower and toiletries must be on a separate partition as water showers everywhere in the bathroom/restroom.

Review 131:Well-located inside the airport, restaurants are nearby and other facilities as well such as train transport.

Review 132:All good

Review 133:Large,comfortable bed, great rain shower, plenty of room for my cases until I went and checked them in early, easy to use iPad system for lights etc, bottled water and of course, brilliant location for an early flight.

Review 134:Claustrophobic, incorrect information given on booking. Had a cube room and had to upgrade to get a room that resembled the picture which was advertised - wouldn't have chosen this hotel if advertising the rooms that you actually get! Awful experience.
