Reviews for Hôtel Résidence de Rohan
Review 1:The hotel charged my credit card in £ rather than euros, despite being requested otherwise. But they responded quickly to an email afterwards, accepted the error and refunded the difference. So that was good.
Review 2:Very peaceful hotel situated right on the coast. Comfortable room, good breakfast. No restaurant but there are a couple within walking distance and lots more within a couple of kilometres. Very friendly staff.
Review 3:We drove up from Marseille for a 1 night stay enroute home. The staff are extremely friendly and accomodating. The room with a large terrace was very nice with a very comfortable bed. Recommend reserving this room with terrace as no guests above and very quiet. There is no restaurant, however, the hotel will recommend an excellent one within walking distance.
Review 4:There isn't anything about our stay we didn't like.
Review 5:Friendly staff, lovely position and excellent breakfasts. We have stayed here several times as we like it so much.
Review 6:Breakfast good but serving area too small causing a queue. No restaurant and hotel suggestions nearby very average.
Review 7:Gardens, pool, terrace and loungers and access to the beach.
Review 8:The ratio of staff to guests so bad. The hotel was full , Reception often unmanned and getting a drink at the bar was a joke, having to yell cooo eee at staff areas and no one came .
Review 9:Best location for beaches and quiet hotel, no children !
Review 10:The bathroom .no shower curtain,no shower head holder..no drain in bathroom floor.= very wet floor .no extractor means steam..so we opened the window.. Only to find it opens onto someone else's sun terrace.....its room 18 if you want to avoid it.
Review 11:Coming back to this area after 25 years....it had not changed much..that's good in today's day and age.the hotel is great.staff are the best thanks Stephan. The ice was appreciated.pool great.location amazing
Review 12:No safe in the room. No tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Old bed needs updating with a new mattress. WiFi not consistent around the property. Breakfast selection limited.
Review 13:Close to the beach, path down could have been improved.
Review 14:The shabby chic furniture in the bedroom but that is just a matter of taste ! its not ours ! No restaurant but we knew that before of course. Three restaurants close by but only one open the 3 nights we stayed, which was a shame. Le Maison Blanche is very good but it would have been nice to have a choice.
Review 15:The staff are very nice at this hotel The pool is great The grounds are good
Review 16:The button on the new shower was a bit stiff for elderly fingers - had to ask for help, which was rapidly forthcoming.
Review 17:The welcome at this hotel was warm and friendly; the room was a stylish mix of modern and antique and very comfortable. The public rooms and the gardens exceeded expectations: we were spending only two nights but would have enjoyed a week. Advice on dining was very helpful. The location was superb. It would be interesting to be here in the season.
Review 18:Cycle hire shops closed down at the end of September

Review 22:What's not to like?
Review 23:Superb location...quiet, great views, just a few moments walk to the beach and restaurants. Comfy room, big and well kept garden, pool v good and well seperated from hotel spaces.
Review 24:No tea or coffee facilities in room. No international news channel. Breakfast chaotic Paid extra for a terrace which was a flat roof covered in jaded astro turf and some poor garden furniture accessed through a window!

Review 47:This may have been my favorite of the hotels we stayed in during our recent trip. The room was attractively furnished and very clean and comfortable. It was nice to be able to walk down to the beach.
Review 48:In the hotel we stayed only one night, but the impressions are the best.Clean, comfortable, good Breakfast, near the sea, beach. You could havea little place to rest a little longer, but we had a scheduled route.Only positive emotions. The hotel will recommend to all friends.
Review 49:The absence of air-conditioning from most of the rooms. The hotel has no restaurant and so you have to have dinner elsewhere.
Review 50:The location is wonderful. The breakfasts are very good.
Review 51:No restaurant and limited choice within walking distance. The nearby "maison Blanche" is limited to BBQ and ok for meat but not very good for fish (burnt).
Review 52:A few steps from an excellent beach and a lovely coast walk. Excellent swimming pool. Very nice clean accommodation.
Review 53:The hotel is ideally situated for beaches, walking and cycling around the headlands. We have stayed here twice and staff are always very helpful and courteous.
Review 54:Only spending one night there.
Review 55:The hotel was in a great location next to a beautiful little beach. The gardens of the hotel were so peaceful, with a lovely swimming pool. The staff were all very friendly and the hotel itself full of charm and beautiful furniture. Very good value for money compared to other hotels we have stayed at in the area.
Review 56:There can be a lot of late night noise from the beach.
Review 57:we know this hotel well, it is very comfortable, and its location is very good. It has a lovely garden and is family run.
Review 58:Bar bill was very high and did not reflect the reasonable cost of the rooms
Review 59:Very traditional without feeling musty and old. Rooms of a very good standard. Great location
Review 60:MANY roadworks in general area of hotel & Royan. Hand held shower (but got used to it). Dinner at the hotel would have been preferred. This is all a bit 'picky' since our overall experience was VERY enjoyable.
Review 61:Friendliness of staff. Closeness of beach/sea including availability of coastal walks. Breakfast. Style of building.
Review 62:No restaurant/food facilities, except for breakfast. There was an excellant restaurant on the beach, but this was not open until later.
Review 63:Very nice hotel, full of character in a great location. Very helpful staff, excellent breakfast, secure bicycle storage.
Review 64:The restaurant was not working well this time of the year and the breakfast was not the best I've ever had...
Review 65:This is a fantastic nice and romantic place, close to a very nice beach. The garden is beautiful and relaxing. The staff was great.
Review 66:Everything is old including bed, wardrobe and shower, looks dusty, bad hair dryer, no refrigerator
Review 67:Beautiful surroundings and hotel itself, close to the beach, parking for the car, friendly personnel
Review 68:Although we were in a modern, comfortable room in a smaller buildingnext to the main house, we would have liked the choice to stay in themain old building as we paid for a superior double. I guess if you don'task you don't get! But perhaps you wouldn't hear the sound of the wavesso clearly? Also the breakfast is basic continental for an extra 12euros each. We decided local boulangeries were more appealing.
Review 69:The location is very good. Within a stones throw of a sandy beach. Thegrounds are very tranquil day and night with the sound of incomingwaves. There's a good sized swimming pool and a table ennis able onsite. We didn't notice any noise at night from the beach bar/restaurantclose by - La Maison Blanche deserves a visit for good food andreasonably priced wine.
Review 70:Charming family run hotel in ideal location leading on to the beach yet with its own pool and gardens, also close to good selection of restaurants. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was attractively furnished with modern bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The lounge had a very relaxed feel to it - inviting sofas and lots of books to read in english as well as french. We thoroughly enjoyed our four night stay and will return.
