Reviews for Jasmine Coral Jay

Review 1:Gangplank was a bit dicey and could do with a sturdier support. May not suit people with poor balance.

Review 2:Location excellent, near to bars and restaurants and only a few minutes walk to either the town or the airport. Host very friendly and welcoming. Cabin very comfortable and had a good night sleep.

Review 3:The en suite bathroom suffered from a bit of an odour, this may be down to the water quality as the accommodation is a boat. This didn't affect our overall stay too much.

Review 4:The owner is very friendly and accommodating, we received a warm welcome along with complimentary drinks and a good explanation of the boat, its facilities and the local area. the boat is very nice overall and I would probably stay again. Free wifi is included which gives a decent speed and good access.

Review 5:Toilet facilities onboard not great but good marina facilities a 1 minute walk away.

Review 6:Great location. A nice boat with plenty of outside space and a shared living room/ kitchen.

Review 7:Unfriendly staff, refused to keep bags after checkout time. Place is very small, wet and overall hygiene is questionable. Not heating, no shower.

Review 8:Location

Review 9:The smell from the en suite toilet was terrible, but in fairness, demished after a few flushes. You can smell the sea and it is sometimes a bit pongy!!!lol

Review 10:We were in Gib for our wedding and had family and friends on the boat with us.The location was perfect, Johnny was a fantastic host, nothing was too much trouble. I really enjoyed the fishing, caught 8 fish!!! Breakfast was lush.If i ever re visited Gib i would definately go on boat again xx

Review 11:You need to accept that you are staying on a private boat so the actual single cabin is relatively tiny. However the lounge area is pleasant and comfortable.

Review 12:The location in the Marina is far and away the best feature. It is within a stones throw of all the eating and entertainment facilities of the modern Ocean Park development, and overlooked by a massive Sunborn liner/hotel which must surely be Five Star . Certainly the experience of staying on a boat in such a location is an incredible experience. The English Breakfast is at a convenient and pleasant waterside bar.

Review 13:1 toilet to be used by the guests of 3 rooms, appreciate it is a boat however could not use toilet at all due to what we assume was the tanks not being emptied which resulted in a very bad smell for all guests in rooms when toilet was flushed. We felt that accommodation in Gib is very expensive hence why this was priced as it was but was not happy at paying that cost for what we received. Bed sheets were very old and matteress' we're very hard and uncomfortable.

Review 14:The location was very good

Review 15:would have preferred on board showers but quayside ones were excellent

Review 16:Friendly hosts and atmosphere and it felt home from home. Had a great stay and feel like made nice friends.

Review 17:Poor attention to detail in the cabin areas. Lino peeling, shower sealed up, harsh chemical smell and strong perfumed aroma, which puffed out every few minutes, very annoying.

Review 18:The location, friendly reception.

Review 19:nothing. All was as described in the booking site.

Review 20:the hosts are the most nice and friendly and helpful people ever, the room was perfectly ok and even bigger that you would expect, we totally enjoyed our staying.

Review 21:Terrible smell from on board toilets, world's most uncomfortable pillows, almost no loo roll, no hand towel by sinks, questionable levels of cleanliness.

Review 22:Great location in the marina, nice deck to sit out on.

Review 23:The facilites on board are basic and showers are communal in a building on the quayside, very modern though.

Review 24:Location was amazing right in the heart of Gibraltar.Lulled to sleep by gentle rocking.Just get your head round -its a boat and relax.

Review 25:The problem with staying on this boat is that you spend more time on it than going to the music festival that we came here to do! Having too much fun to leave!

Review 26:Fantastic location, fabulous owners.

Review 27:Showers were a short walk away, but were lovely and clean so no issues there to be fair.

Review 28:John is a cracking host and has great local tips, an absolute once in a lifetime experience with pleasant neighbouring boats as well.

Review 29:Very disappointed, the boat in no way lives up to its photos and hype. The rooms are very small and cramped, with 3 cabins sharing a toilet so small you just about have to enter backwards. The toilet was disgusting until I cleaned it. The bed linen was old and musty smelling and the dirty port windows were held open with old bits of plastic. The supposed bar had a few bottles of spirits, I've no idea if or where the wine was and didn't dare look. The breakfast was on another boat, no real idea where. Overall a dirty dump.

Review 30:Great location.

Review 31:The bathrooms are primitive.

Review 32:It's a boat in the marina, a very nice location. Very social, hanging out with the other guests. The owner is a great guy.

Review 33:Cabins were very small, bunks were too short,no Air-con and to shower you had to use the marina showers and breakfast had to be taken in the ship Inn.

Review 34:Despite the above the owner,John, was very hospitable and somehow we all enjoyed our stay.

Review 35:Well, this is a yacht with the usual limitations. You must use the shower block, (which was spotless) which didn't bother me, but might worry some. I didn't like the pontoon, but the owners happily carried my suitcase on and off board, so that I could hang on to the handrail!

Review 36:It was great fun to stay on a yacht, and wonderful to wake in the morning and be surrounded by water and other boats. The owners were very helpful, it was just like staying with friends.

Review 37:Nowhere to hang clothes in single cabin. 200 yards to shower (but remember you are on a boat).

Review 38:Location is good. Owner was very pleasant and helpful in every respect. Very good lounge area and sun deck. Help yourself tea and coffee, all very home from home.

Review 39:No wifi in the cabins - only available in the lounge. Basic accommodation, which was fine for us. Ensuite- abit misleading- although we didn't have to share the toilet attached to our room as other cabin not occupied, might have been uncomfortable had it been. As doors don't lock!

Review 40:Great location in gibraltar. Close to restaurants and bars

Review 41:We knew the room would be small but it was musty. The bedroom area was tattered and moldy. The toilet was not bolted properly to the floor so it rocked when you sat on it. The breakfast was at a nearby restaurant but they charged us for items that we thought were included. Side note: If you want to visit Gibraltar, my suggestion is to stay on the Spain side of the border and walk in. Driving in Gibraltar is worse than Rome or Paris. The motorcycles are everywhere with the rudest people.

Review 42:The location is excellent and staying on the boat was a unique experience. The deck and main galley were very nice. The boat is basically a bachelor pad,

Review 43:I found the advertising for the place to be a little misleading. The shower on the boat isn't usable because water is so expensive so you have to walk to the end of the dock to use the public showers. The hotel description made no notice of this when I booked it and that alone would have steered me away from it. Also it says there is air conditioning, there is but it is in the shared lounge area and not in the rooms. This made sleeping pretty uncomfortable because it was hot and with the windows open mosquitos came in and bite me. I definitely should have read the other reviews before booking, lesson learned.

Review 44:The owner was extremely friendly and if I was there to party probably would have been really cool. He invited me and my wife to hang out and drink for free when we arrived. We were a little too tired to accept but it was a nice offer. The breakfast deal he has with the nearby pub was awesome. If you don't mind the downsides I list then this place would be great for you.

Review 45:More expensive than your average hostel, however, it is a boat and they are expensive to maintain so it is understandable

Review 46:It was a boat...! Great location, good view of the rock, next to lots of good restaurants etc. The Captain was awesome and really accommodating (will party with you) Overall, just a good time

Review 47:the room is very small and smelly will get u disappointed, after all it's a boat . the room is between two toilets ,one front door another at back door ,it's smelly and can not fall asleep .especially in the morning .(the owner said the smell it's accidentally caused by others Another room has a lot mosquitoes .the customers we hav chat that he booked a double room for himself still think just ok for holding one person, and the sheet is smelly I pay for £100 and someone I know stayed in the double room paid more than me we hav to stay on the sofa and barely sleep those nights.I even don't want to get into that room hanging out very late outside. We didn't complain but the owner thought we were staying up late playing on his sofa. The owner said u r live in my house id stay on the sofa everything should be charged with extra pay , this is not ur home.I kindly give advice when I was leaving if u give electronic mosquito killer ,customers will hav better experience.the owner said in this season mosquito is everywhere, u should go to hotel and there's no mosquitoes. I was speechless for the response .The sheet and pillow a bit smelly I don't think they have cleaned each time after customers leave.Because it's a small boat and there's no standard hygiene condition ,when customers keep coming checking in.about the smell the owner blamed the customer damage the tank , it was accidentally cause , I think it was an excuse , please overview the comment before , not only one mentioned about the cleanness. There's no wifi because the small room is underground , that's why we need to stay in living room can not go down use all my devices.after this trip I'm going to london stayed in two different hotels ,both gorgeous hotel very nice building ,like in a royal place and royal breakfast very pleasant place. It's only charge £50 and £60 . so it's not worthy to go.

Review 48:position ,because the Gibraltar is quite small

Review 49:The room is full with smell of toilet, hot and ridiculous uncomfotable. The toilet on boat is ridiculous dirty and disgusting as well. Living there for several nights, the female host is a really nice lady but the male is lack of respect and mean.

Review 50:The location is awesome as well as the breakfast at The Ship.

Review 51:The toilet.

Review 52:Comfortable though somewhat cramped sleeping quarters (it is a boat, after all). Roomy lounge area. Good, reasonably priced bars/restaurants nearby. Captain Johnny very friendly and helpful.

Review 53:Expected room to be small but we were advised not to use the shower. Why not remove it and give more room in the rooms. The toilet was not cleaned out often enough unless we complained of smells.

Review 54:The location was lovely sea view bars restaurants and a couple of shops. Walking distance into main centre.

Review 55:Don't expect breakfast on public or bank holidays you will not get one. No towels showers take a good half hour walking to shower block not limited none existent on boat. Rooms cramped and grubby

Review 56:Not a lot

Review 57:All was good keeping in mind that this is a boat accomodation.

Review 58:Nice experience all together, owners are very friendly and it is close to lot of nice restaurants and bars. And you stay in a boat :)

Review 59:Jonny and Kelly ,made our stay Great, both moved mountains to help us ,with our problems (it was my Daughters wedding day). And my Mother enjoyed fishing off the back of the Boat.

Review 60:showers in a marina shower block, boats a little shabby, shared toilets on board.

Review 61:host was excellent, location brilliant on the marina. met some great people in communal areas... had a great couple of days

Review 62:The whole boat was untidy, the actual cabin was much more primitive than described: no shelves, no soap, no towels. The Captain partied with some of his guests until the wee hours with no thought of his sleeping guests. The restaurant where breakfast was to be served was closed. So no breakfast.

Review 63:Location is very good, if you want to experience night life and parties

Review 64:No,only there two nights

Review 65:Friendliness of the staff.Th e relaxed atmosphere,Great breakfast at the restaurant opposite the boat plus particularly the extremely competitive price

Review 66:Having to leave the boat to go for a shower was irritating. Possibly in common with other boats it is cramped in the cabin, with very little storage space ... maybe we were naive in not expecting this.

Review 67:The experience of being on a boat was one we won't forget, and it was a good way to meet other people. Johnny is an engaging, well-meaning and knowledgeable host. The lounge and two decks are very pleasant places to relax.

Review 68:Bathroom operated on bilges which meant that the air freshener was set to 11 to cover the smell, this meant the room smelled overpoweringly. There were no towels in the bathroom either. Only stayed a night but £50 was a little steep.

Review 69:Not bad per se, but this is more of a lodging house than a hotel/b&b. Guests and friends of owners sat drinking on deck on arrival.friendly hosts, relaxed atmosphere, great location, cheap bar arrangements

Review 70:Thanks John, had a blast!

Review 71:Had a one week Conference in the fancy Sunborn ship/hotel. But after a long day the perfect escape. You need to know, this is a boat and Captain John the skipper. Had a lot of fun and met very nice travellers enjoying the sun deck, his cheap drinks, music and even playing Ps3 and karaoke! Make sure you have been on a boat before, its not everyones but definitly my thing!

Review 72:Nothing negative to say!

Review 73:John was a great host, my husband and i had a fantastic time, i even caught a fish!! Music! alcohol! laughter! I would absolutely recommend a stay there

Review 74:Don't expect any sophistication, just a bed for the night.

Review 75:Located next to the bars and restaurants and the sailing school for my course.

Review 76:at the time the bathroom did smell a bit but this could be normal on a boat i don't know

Review 77:location,different being on a boat

Review 78:Very small. Little bit expensive. Heavy smell .

Review 79:Marina. Nice view . On the boat .nice owner. Good location

Review 84:nothing

Review 91:Nothing

Review 92:Great hosts very welcoming great location

Review 93:Johnny the captain up for a laugh, taught my brother to fish and gave my fiancee a lift on the back of his bike, very friendly - a home from home!

Review 94:The boat has super entertainment area for guests to relax and chat.

Review 95:location, unique staying on a boat, friendliness of host

Review 96:Beds very uncomfortable. Toilet on board smelly wobbly seat and could only be used sparingly! Breakfast basic in local cafe.

Review 97:Friendly atmosphere great location

Review 98:the boat was not very clean and there was an unpleasant smell in the bedrooms

Review 99:The location was excellent

Review 100:Air conditioning would have been nice as the rooms were very stuffy.

Review 101:It was a very good location.

Review 102:Very relaxing stay with wonderful hosts. We had a lovely holiday :)

Review 103:It's not a luxury boat , it's like camping

Review 104:Location is excellent

Review 105:Being 70 years of age, of course it is not the most ideal accommodation, but we were treated very well

Review 106:Very friendly host, location is very good.

Review 107:The Host was very considerate and accommodating. Johnny made you feel at ease and relaxed.

Review 108:Breakfast not available before 9am
