Reviews for The Old Bridge House

Review 1:Rooms are a little small but that is more than made up by the ingenious use of space in the ensuite.

Review 2:Very helpful. Perfect location.very accommodating. The breakfasts were simply amazing.

Review 3:Lovely location looking over the water. Friendly & knowledgeable couple who own The Old Bridge. Excellent choice and well cooked breakfast. Made to feel at home on arrival.

Review 4:There was nothing that we didn't like

Review 5:We have never felt so relaxed and welcomed at a hotel before. Colin & Liz made the stay perfect. View from room 9 and situation of the hotel were excellent.

Review 6:There was nothing about the guest house I didn't like. But you need to be aware that there is no parking on site. The nearest parking is 500 yards away along the harbour and is £13 for a 24 hour period and £2 from 6pm - 8am. The other main town car park is a good 5 - 10 minute walk up a steep hill. There is a loading bay opposite the guest house so you can unload luggage before parking.

Review 7:The location was amazing overlooking the harbour. The owners were very friendly. I had booked a single room but they upgraded me to a twin room with harbour view as it was free at no extra charge. The home cooked breakfast set me up for the whole day.

Review 8:Parking is a little walk and £5.50 for 24hrs but understandable as there's very few places with parking directly outside.

Review 9:Colin was so accommodating, very knowledgable about the area and always on hand to help. Had great knowledge about the local bars and restaurants and always helped where he could. Brilliant location, amazing breakfast, incredible views and the honesty bar was used both nights we stayed, sipping beer/hot chocolate outside in the crisp air, overlooking Looe at night. Really lovely gesture of chocolate rabbits with breakfast as we stayed over Easter. Would 100% stay again.

Review 10:There wasn't anything not to like

Review 11:Everything, the hosts go the extra mile in everyway to make sure their guests have a wonderful, comfortable stay, with a touch of luxury

Review 12:Would have liked a slightly larger bedroom, but otherwise it was very clean and well equipped

Review 13:Very clean, beautiful property and views. Owners were very kind and helpful

Review 14:The outlook from our room over the river was most picturesque, and our host and hostess tended to our every need. The variety of food on offer for the breakfasts was amazing and the location of the property allowed easy access to the town centre for evening meals.

Review 15:That breakfast was not included in price. Car parking facilities very expensive. Only one chair available in room.

Review 16:Comfort of room. People very nice and we enjoyed our stay.

Review 17:Guest house has outdated décor. No parking facilities in or around the property. Too expensive considering other hotels & guest houses nearby much cheaper with more facilities & things to do. If taking breakfast they only cater between the hours of 8 - 9 AM. Check in very late, 3.30 PM. Our room, No.3, was at the side of the house, near a pedestrian walkway which can be incredibly noisy. The guest house depicts the use of Wi-Fi inside but the use of it was not documented anywhere. Very awkward checking in bags from the street, walking up a steep hill and up some tight stairs. Net curtains used over the windows which I & my partner really hate, would prefer a brick wall.

Review 18:The location peering over the harbour in Looe.

Review 19:Apparently wifi was available but there wasnt a code in the room.

Review 20:The owner and his wife were lovely and went above and beyond to make us feel welcome as well as providing us with soya milk, gluten free biscuits and sausages for breakfast. The room was beautiful and had a great view of the river. It was really easy to find just off the bridge with parking close by for a minimal charge. I loved the idea of an honesty bar even though we didnt use it. The breakfast was plentiful and had some of the thickest bacon I've ever seen.

Review 21:A warm welcome by the owners! Nice and cosy atmosphere, the room and bed was superb, - the breakfast as well. We want to come back and recommend this to you all!

Review 22:No air conditioner - but this seems to apply to the vast majority of UK rooms. A lot of hotels would have this.

Review 23:Staff, amenities, location, breakfast, friendliness, layout.

Review 24:Car parking situation the only downside, no on site parking & be prepared for the noise from the seagulls, they never shut up ! You would have to put up with that no matter where you stay in Looe though.

Review 25:Lovely owners, very pleasant & helpful. rooms with en suite among the most pristine we have ever seen. hotel is immaculate with lovely views of the estuary & across to east looe.

Review 26:Wi-Fi for my daughter was a bit inconsistent but that's a very minor point.

Review 27:Beautiful location and the room and en-suite comfortable and clean. Our room had a good view. There is a bar and a superb balcony looking out onto the harbour. I woke about 3am as it was so hot but enjoyed hearing the fishing boats being unloaded and seeing the lights on the quay.

Review 28:Nothing

Review 29:The Old Bridge House was a lovely place to stay. Very central, lovely people, great breakfast. The honesty bar was a nice touch and we enjoyed our drinks, sitting on the lovely balcony looking at the view. We were in Looe visiting our daughter- Colin suggested she join us for breakfast which was really lovely.

Review 30:Everything about the stay at The Old Bridge House, the Host were very friendly and made you feel at home as soon as you arrived. The breakfast's were top class and the cleanliness of the rooms were great. Will stay again when I return back to England.

Review 31:The breakfasts were fantastic! The very friendly couple ran an excellent B & B. The room was cosy and spotlessly clean, and nothing was too much trouble for them to make our stay relaxed, comfortable, and very enjoyable. Thank you for a lovely stay - we will be back! Pam & John, Bromsgrove

Review 90:Very clean , breakfast excellent

Review 91:No private parking

Review 92:Exactly what was said by the Bromsgrove couple from Worcester

Review 93:paid for a double room they took away spare towels even spare cup

Review 94:Noise of shower room next door only complaint.

Review 95:The setting, owners, ambience and food to name a few.

Review 96:Double room was too small felt claustrophobic, was able to touch en suite toilet from lying in bed. Reminded me of a caravan bedroom. Would of asked to move rooms if stopping longer than 1 night. If you have any walking difficulties this is not the Guest House for you.

Review 97:The Location is good for walking into Looe. Hotel Owners welcoming and helpful and the room was spotless.

Review 98:Breakfast ended a little early. It would have been a bit of a rush for us to have breakfast and leave the room on our day of departure by 10am so we decided to check out and have our breakfast in the town.

Review 99:Friendly welcome clean and smart. Breakfast was excellent with a view from the breakfast room.

Review 100:I didn't spend enough time at Colin's Bar!

Review 101:We loved The Old Bridge House. The owners, Liz & Colin Clements, made our stay in Looe a memorable one. The location is excellent, the bed was perfect, and the food choices were wonderful. We certainly will be staying at The Old Bridge House when we return to Looe. We had many problems with our "Hire Car" which Liz & Colin helped us solve. The Clements were most helpful in making our vacation a successful one. Thank You

Review 102:No breakfast with the room, even though paying £81 per night, the bathroom is small could touch both walls with my elbows, the bed creaked, and there is a gap under the main room door of a good 2 inches. This is not a hotel.

Review 103:the fridge in the room

Review 104:Weather! but you can't blame the hotel for that!!

Review 105:Very friendly welcome to the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. Location was good for all of Looe attractions. Couldn't fault standard of hotel and would like to go back one day.

Review 106:Colin and Liz are very welcoming and very friendly. The old Bridge House is lovely, very comfortable and wonderful views. We stayed for our honeymoon and aim to return for anniversary.
