Reviews for The Hannafore Point Hotel

Review 1:Standard double bed too small for us and mattress passed it's best. Needs new bath and shower inflexible and low. Cleanliness issues around bathroom window and flush not working properly.

Review 2:Excellent, helpful staff. Unbelievably good views from sea-view room, bar and restaurant. Bedroom clean and tidy.

Review 3:Weak shower and mattress pinging throughout the night as though it was past it's best.

Review 4:Seaview good and the young male waiter in the morning was polite and attentive (we did not therefore like unhelpful comments made by his older female colleague to 'get on and sit us down' ..... quite unnecessary comments from her) He was perfectly capable and doing his job well .... all her comments dd was embarrass us as guests.

Review 5:No bottle of mineral water in room (as promised) No fried bread at breakfast (as listed on menu)

Review 6:Ideal location, close to Looe, with fantastic views over Looe Bay.

Review 7:The hotel is dated and very tied, our room 611, was very small, and we have never slept on a bed that was so uncomfortable and rock hard !!! awful... There was a wedding in the hotel, with lots of unruly young children running wild, the staff were trying their best to control them! but our main issues was the cost, for a very uncomfortable room and bed! we will not be returning

Review 8:The view from this hotel was beautiful

Review 9:Room quite small and overlooked by properties at the rear of the hotel. The bed was quite small and the matress too soft for our taste.

Review 10:Staff very helpful and work with a smile

Review 11:Evening restaurant service was very slow,we understood, due to sickness causing staff shortage in the kitchen. Any with walking difficulties should be advised that there are 20 steps up to reception and many other short flights of stairs elsewhere

Review 12:Mattress needed changing, but as a bad back sufferer I possibly noticed this more. The shower was over a corner bath and as a tall couple we struggled to have a decent shower.

Review 13:Very helpful staff and fantastic room with sea view and huge balcony

Review 14:There was nothing we didn't like but the rooms are a little dated.

Review 15:The location of the hotel and the views were stunning, all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was first class .

Review 16:Only downside was the bed was very hard

Review 17:Staff were helpful and happy despite the weather. The selection at breakfast was superb Would have liked to use the other facilities but our stay was to short

Review 18:Dirty shower curtain, no ventilation at all,the minute you open warm water tap, the whole place is misty, poor space, we were jumping over suitcases.

Review 19:The gym, pool, breakfast and comfortable bed.

Review 20:the noise from the wedding party was unbeliveable it was just like the band was in the bathroom , and it didnt finish till 1.30 ,very tired after a long drive not to be able to sleep then a long drive home was not good , not inpressed at all ,we also werent asked how are stay was in morning at checkout the lady didnt want to know very rude didnt even say thankyou or goodbye

Review 21:the view from room was lovely and the roomservice was good

Review 22:Weather awful on last day. The roof leaked and the water came through the ceiling! Hardly any water came out the shower

Review 23:location. Manager John - the lock broke in our room and we were trapped. He got the lock off and moved us to another room.

Review 24:if wedding being held (sat nights) music until late can be a bit much if you want an early night!

Review 25:Great View, if you book sea facing room, other rooms look out at cliff wall. Great staff, Good indoor pool, sauna, hydro pool.

Review 26:The fact that we asked for room service and it didn't come as the girl forgot to take the room number !!! Location long walk to town We had to ask for lots of things that had run out at breakfast

Review 27:View

Review 28:The balcony was rusty and could do with a paint job....but after a second of looking at the view, you completely forget about the rust.

Review 29:The view is amazing and the staff are faultless. A very adequate pleasant place to stay with an unbeatable view and great location.

Review 30:thick duvet made it too hot for a decent sleep and shower almost impossible to regulate the temperature

Review 31:friendly helpful staff and the pool, Jacuzzi, sauna and breakfast

Review 32:Nothing to dislike

Review 33:The view from our room was outstanding The hotel spa was a fantastic surprise The food was excellent and the service was spot on Looe is a stunning and welcoming place to visit. Highly recommended

Review 34:I had initially booked a non-sea-view room, priced at £390 for 3 nights based upon two people sharing. The room was slightly larger than a shoe box with very dated fixtures and fittings. Possibly the worst room that I have ever been allocated within this price range. The short break was a 'present' for my partner and I cannot begin to explain the level of disappointment. I therefore had no option but to upgrade to a sea view room at a further cost, totalling £60. The difference in size and presentation was unbelievable but I must add that the new total cost of £450 for the three night stay remained poor value for money.

Review 35:Sea View room was large and reasonably well appointed. Most of the staff were pleasant and professional

Review 36:A comfortable room overlooking the bay. We had upgraded to a sea view and found we had a suite. Wish we could have taken the view home. The restaurant food was excellent and well priced. Timed the walk into Looe at 15 mins which was not a problem

Review 37:Shower hardly a trickle Beds probably not replaced for donkeys years (felt it had been there a very long time) its just run down and nothing spent on it for decades

Review 38:Location

Review 39:Very small point is that the bar was not all that cozy at night with very large (and large number) of windows all in blackness. Perhaps a few drawn curtains would have helped.

Review 40:Closeness to sea meant I could hear it, and the sea view from the balcony was stunnung - made for perfect relaxation. A fantastic place for just chilling out.

Review 41:But old fashioned decor, and dissapointing the leasure facilities hadn't been completed before our stay, given when booking it said they would be

Review 42:Location was good, although for older residents, the walk may have been tough, saying that taxis are regular. Breakfast was great, pool was a nice added touch

Review 43:There was no mention of the building work going on in most of the pool area until we had arrived and tried to use the facilities. The pool was the only part open to the public, the luxurious spa, sauna and gym advertised on the website were entirely out of bounds for the duration of our stay. I don't think the prices are fair while these facilities are out of action.

Review 44:Despite there being a few issues with building work and faulty radiators, the staff tried their best to come up with solutions.

Review 45:Shower needs pressure turning up

Review 46:We stayed in room 616, a sea view room. Excellent but the real Beaty of this hotel is the genuine, friendly and helpful staff. I've travelled the world but never equalled the service here. Fantastic.

Review 47:having stayed many times over the years I am pleased to say the current management have tidied the hotel up,approaching its best times (which were in the 50,s)

Review 48:No overhead shower in the bathroom. The wine at dinner was overpriced for what it was.

Review 49:Good location with an easy walk to the centre of Looe. Spacious comfortable room with balcony and seating within bay window looking out to sea-view. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Review 50:I was so disappointed apon arival as the inside of the hotel looked and smelt like an old people's home. Very dated and very basic. When checking in the receptionist struggled to make eye contact and generally looked like she hated her job. The cooked breakfast was also shocking, not something you expect staying in a 3-star hotel. I booked this as a surprise for my boyfriend for his birthday and felt truly gutted. If you want a nice classy comfortable stay this is not the place for you. I personally will never return.

Review 51:The view and checking out.

Review 52:room was small and fusty - half an hour of the balcony door open sorted that out Bathroom needed a deep clean - mildew on the window frame Breakfast was disappointing. My local Cafe in London cooks fresh and does better.

Review 53:staff are cool and friendly location is unbeatable Bar is both large and cosy

Review 54:Shower was no more than a drip as the water pressure was abysmal. Decore from the 80's with the bedside table hanging off the wall. Telly did not work - general poor value for money

Review 55:Breakfast, sea view (room 616) and location

Review 56:Lack of eye contact from most breakfast staff, not able to "Lock Open" the patio door for ventilation. Weedy shower pressure. Very poor internet connection on WIFI.

Review 57:The young man who served breakfast and at the bar was most charming. the view was exceptional.

Review 58:Steps up to the hotel difficult to carrry luggage up and down and not all steps were at the same depth Food in restaurant a bit fussy but I didn't want to eat in the bar alone.

Review 59:Swimming pool Very quiet at night so I had a good nights sleep

Review 60:Really poor value for money. Have stayed in far superior hotels for a lot less. No lift available to top floors. Breakfast very basic.not much choice. What happened to continental with ham cheese etc?

Review 61:Lovely view from room. Clean.

Review 62:The room was small and without a view which was disappointing. I would only return to this hotel if i was guaranteed a view and the room was a reasonable size

Review 63:The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent views while having breakfast and or dinner.

Review 64:Room 515.Room was very poor quality and very dated. Also small for price. Despite requesting payment by cash staff had already debited my account. Breakfast was average but no freshly prepared fruit. We were made to feel awkward about sitting at a table for 4 instead of 2. Should be a seater and greeter if its such a problem.

Review 65:The hotel is a little dated and in need of some decoration and updating.

Review 66:Our room had a beautiful view and was lovely and large with very comfortable beds and settee on if required. Also we had a very large balcony too which was good.

Review 67:the room was at the back and even with the window open it was very hot. would have liked some entertainment especially as it was suturday.
