Reviews for Hôtel du Commerce

Review 1:Friendly, welcoming staff, good location in the historic part of the city. Hotel is being completely renovated, the new rooms are very smart and the ensuite bathrooms are lovely. Some street noise during the day, but found it very quiet overnight.

Review 2:There were 2 parts of the hotel. We were stuck in an old unfinished part. The new part was quite ornate with nice carpets and wall decor but our Room was small, no view and no charm. But it served the purpose for one overnight stay.

Review 3:Breakfast was good. Location very central to the main square. There was an elevator. Desk people very helpful. It was quiet.

Review 4:Great room. Comfy bed. Kettle in room. Just bring decent tea and coffee with you. French failing as normal! Ask for a refurbished one. The whole hotel is in the process. Great interior design. Lovely breakfast room. Lovely breakfast. Good service. Out of hours key collection. Central location. Car parking cheap. What's not to like?

Review 5:Breakfast could be slightly more varied. Very little cereal on offer.

Review 6:Lovely location near cathedral; good quality rooms; very reasonable price. Will definitely stay again. Free wifi and good range of French TV channels.

Review 7:There was no wifi and confusion over our the room which was not sorted out. We booked the loft room which was more expensive than the chambre club+. We were however given the room from the photographs of the chambre club+. We were then told that was one of the loft rooms and charged accordingly. When we asked for the room in the photographs which we booked we were told it was not possible.

Review 8:A great location with old world charm.

Review 9:Difficult for car parking as centre was very busy when we arrived, charges also expensive with no discount for staying in hotel. Hotel needs a small bar or at least a coffee bar.

Review 10:Great location in the centre, very close for walking to restaurants or site seeing. Room was very good and comfortable. Staff friendly(some), breakfast ok. Great old building bought back to life.

Review 11:The rooms themselves are a little small and dated.

Review 12:The exterior of the hotel and the ground floor common areas are incredibly beautiful, and the location is absolutely perfect! The rainfall shower was also amazing!

Review 13:No bad experience but be aware the lounge area closes at 20.00 hrs

Review 14:We stayed here a short while ago and wasn't very impressed. We anted to go to Montauban again and tried to book else where but this was still the best option all things considered. We decided to pay a bit more and tried a loft room out. A good choice, a much bigger and better room with great aircon. tea and coffee also.

Review 15:Good location, nice young lady on the reception, good breakfast,... The rooms are a bit small but enough for a short stay. They made a place downstairs for our bikes.

Review 16:We booked a twin room and asked for air con, got a double, no air con and it appears they lied about wifi in the rooms. The car park opersite was €17.50 per day. We parked around the corner for €6.10 for 8 hours, but there was free parking there for certain times too so probably spent €10 for 2 days. Receptionist didn't offer any alternative parking choice. The room was supposed to be ready at 12 it wasn't ready till 2. Cleaner was laid on a room bed on her phone when we caught a glimpse oh her. Overall not impressed for the price.

Review 17:Location,

Review 18:parking in the square is always fraught - queues of cars desperate to leave the car park

Review 19:central position, friendly staff, gorgeous newly decorated salon

Review 20:The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They let us store our bicycles in their office. The room was comfortable with a great shower. The breakfast room was beautiful and the food was delicious. There was a large variety of different types of food to choose from and we even had scrambled eggs! We would definitely stay here again and recommend the hotel to anyone.v

Review 21:My colleague was over 6 foot 3 and he stayed on the third floor. He told me that he could only stand up in certain parts of his room, it being an attic room. I had a great room on the first floor - it would have been better if I had been given the third floor room as I am only 5 foot 10.

Review 22:We were looking at properties in the area and this was a great place to come back to after a day out driving. The parking was outside the front door and the staff were welcoming and very helpful. The room I stayed in was really comfortable and clean, with a loo separate to the bathroom, which was nice and a first for me with hotel rooms. The breakfast room was welcoming and the decor was great. The food was simple but there was lots of it, to set one up for the day ahead. Thanks.

Review 23:pillows had been used by dirty person leaving them smelly. Changing the cases didn't remove the smell which was impregnated in the pillow. No other pillows were offered

Review 24:Lack of view and light Room quite small Wifi didn't really work in room, had to go in hallway

Review 25:Location Downstairs lounge was nice and homely Coffee/tea making facilities in room Character hotel

Review 26:Aircon is turned off centrally at night, wifi not reachable in the room

Review 27:Spacious room, great shower and aircon in room, location at walking distance from the beautiful ancient city center.

Review 28:Found it difficult to sleep with traffic noise, but to be fair, we live in a totally quiet country hamlet. Other visitors who are used to traffic would not be troubled. Also the ancient floorboards above our room (103) creaked so loudly I thought the client was dragging a large metal trunk across the floor! None of this, of course, is the management's fault. It is an old building. Book a top room at the rear to avoid these problems. I would book again if the manager would confirm that we could have a room as I described.

Review 29:The room was very clean and the double bed huge enough. I had requested twin beds and a quiet room. But the accommodation was OK. Bathroom very pretty with everything you needed. Good choice of breakfast. Lots of character in the old building. Manager charming and helpful. We loved Montauban..beautiful.

Review 52:The room was small and a bit hot.

Review 53:We were made very welcome at the hotel when we arrived after a very wet days motorcycling. The hotel was very well positioned for exploring Montauban city centre. The room was clean with a really nice toilet and shower. I would book this hotel again.

Review 54:No bar facility but the bars are best in the town square anyway!

Review 55:central to Montauban and paid public parking directly in front of the hotel - 10 minute walk to the Sapiac Rugby Ground

Review 56:Excellent location, very friendly staff, very comfortable bed, room and bathroom spotelss, change of towels and housekeeping service every day. The hotel is situated right next to Montauban Cathedral which is beautiful to look at. It is also less that 2 monutes walk from the main bars and restaurants of the town. Great value for money and all in all the hotel contributed to a very pleasant stay in Montauban

Review 57:The email connection was very slow.

Review 58:The staff was very helpful. The hotel was comfortable and quiet. It is in a very good location, close to so much but not so close that it is noisy. An excellent restaurant next door. Lots of shops and services within a short walk. We walked to the train station!

Review 59:One of my fellow guests lost his mobile and the receptionist arranged for him to be driven by her daughter to the home, some kilometres away, of the person who reported finding it. Neither would accept any payment towards their costs. This was extremely thoughtful and beyond the call of duty.
